Review Whisk And Ladle - Brisbane

I’ve been here a few times, the food is really good, never disappoints. The service is also excellent. Back here again, having the grilled salmon & prawns, it usually comes with some asparagus, but as I don’t like it, mine is without. You’ve done again George, cooked to perfection and it’s absolutely delicious 😋

We went here a few weeks ago based on the good reviews. It did not live up to expectations. Firstly, let's say it wasn't full but it took around 40 minutes for our brunch to arrive, and that was after querying. We could see the kitchen staff moving very slowly - one woman's knife skills were definitely lacking for a commercial kitchen. We counted five-seven kitchen staff, plus front of house. The young girls (14-16?) waiting tables did their best, bless their souls - they earned the star. Our first choices were not available, fine, but when our meals did finally arrive...the trio of mushrooms was passable (for a hungry gym-junkie male) but the potato rosti stack was substandard. The rosti were limp and inedible (as if it had been microwaved, even tho later the woman said it had been under the grill), the balsamic reduction was swirled around and around and around the plate. Very disappointing after 40 minutes. After I took it up to the counter, a woman came to our table to question the problem. No apology to start with, instead something along the lines of it being how it's served (unlikely, I've had rosti in a few places around the world) and that it's a favourite. Possibly after I glared at her, she made a strangled apology and offered to get something else for me. Did we want to wait another 40 minutes? did we have faith in the outcome? NO. Coffee also a 6/10. Unbelievably, when my partner went to pay there was no eye contact, and no further apology even tho it was the same woman. If you would like options in the local area, please try Good Folk, Sweetshop or Paprika.

Very nice breakfast and coffee. I would definitely come here again. The table service was nice as well. Nice to see café sweets and baked goods made on the premises. Clearly more thought and care put in to things than the average place. Would have liked for the lemon and lime bitters to be a bit more crafted than just a bottle of Bundaberg, but everything else was excellent

Good coffee and good brekky options, what more could you ask for? This turned out to be a convenient spot to catch up with friends, with plenty of space and a pleasant atmosphere. The French toast was perfectly cooked, accompanied with salty bacon (perfect pairing) and very yummy.

Food is good and price not bad. Coffee is not strong though but that’s just me. The sitting area is very good and staff are friendly. One thing that I didn’t like was that their poached egg was over cooked and the yolk was hard.

Would love to come back again. Pancake and bacon was good, a little too sweet to my liking. Food came quick, didn't have to wait long . Great coffee.
