Impressed with an exceptional staff and service. Ordered 2 different chicken curries . They both were well made though overpowered with some spices. It’s just my preference of not having food colouring that seemed to be in those curries. The garlic naans were huge and perfectly cooked-one of the best we had. The restaurant needed a bit more theme of “gate of India” as it lacks decors.
I had one bad experience here and staff went above and beyond to rectify, the Karahi Paneer is one of the best vegetarian curries I’ve had. I’m not a fan of their cheese and garlic naan (I’m one of those western loving gooey cheese naan bread people) so order plain here.
Wow! It has been over two years since my visit here and we went for a Groupon dinner as the same as last time at the end of last month. Even though this time we were not served by the owner but the work team staff are all very polite and attentive.
Besides the dedicated mixed entrees to share, we selected the mains of Chicken Korma and Fish Curry to go with an upgrade Peshwari Naan (our favourite) and Basmati Rice. Of course, the mango lassi is the a-must order drink.
The entrée patter came to the table with mixture of Samosa, Pakora and Tandoori Chicken. Hero should be the chicken because they serve the thigh meat instead of the boring chicken breast. We order the mild spiciness for both mains, which are both spot-on to match with the rice and the naan. Overall portions on the mains are surprisingly big and so as the Mango Lassi.
It was an impressive dinner! Highly recommended! Cheers!

Had a Groupon dinner at this place for quite a while but forgot to write the review. Remember it was sometime last year and I had the same feeling as commented by Diana (review below) that I did not realise that it is so close to my house. Located at the prime position at the front entrance of Springwood Tower, it was so easy to find this restaurant. When we stepped in, we were friendly greeted by the staff and their attitude made me very comfortable to enjoy my dinner. The deal offered us mixed entrée for two, 2 x mains, naan and rice. I have to say that their food were all above average, particularly the Basmati rice looked so crystal clear that it was a perfect match with the Butter Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo. I have to say thank to the manager who allowed us to change the plain naan to Punjabi Naan (Spinach & Cheese) by just paying extra few dollars. The naan was so tasteful and also went perfect with the butter and vindaloo sauce. Overall, it was a decent dining experience.
Really enjoyed our entree and mains. Pleasantly surprised. Will go back again. Parking can be difficult when busy. Didn’t enjoy outside smoke wafting in from outside.
All in one i would like to say They are amazing 😍 ..
Best indian food I've ever had and their price are so affordable .
Please guys must visit once
Came here for dinner with the wife through a Groupon. Was pleasantly surprised by the service & food. Wonderful overall experience with the dishes being full of flavour and large servings. The gentleman that was looking after us was extremely polite ,bubbly & friendly. I really couldn't fault the experience I had here. Highly recommend that If you're looking for a restaurant to go to around Brisbane without venturing out into the city this is a fine way of going about it. Thanks for a lovely meal.
So desperate felt like Indian tonight and really didn't want to go out. I jumped on menu log and decided to give Gateway of India a go. I'm so glad I did. We had a few dishes to share and we all agree absolutely authentic and flavoursome food. The lamb vindaloo (although I would have preferred it hotter) was full of flavour and the lamb just melted in your mouth. The chicken saagwala oh my was sooo yummy, the lamb madras wow and the beef Roganjosh was good too (not my favourite but others in the family loved it).
So happy we have found our new Indian restaurant. I was so impressed I called the manager to let him know how good it was (I have never done this before)
My partner and I had dinner at Gateway of India last night. We didn't make a reservation but the restaurant wasn't overly busy, so we got a table straight away. All the food on the menu is very well priced and not on the expensive side. We ordered meat samosas, Shish kebab, beef Korma curry and a garlic and cheese naan bread to share. The samosas and Shish kebab were delightful! So much flavour packed into those entrees, the Korma on the other hand wasn't the best I've had- the sauce had flavour but it was missing something and the nan bread was tasted to an inch of its life. All in all the meal cost $42 so we can't complain, we would come again to try a few other meals.
Found this place through Groupon. Very pleased that I did.
Not only were the staff very friendly and helpful the decor was nice and the service prompt.
As for the food, well no complaints here what so ever.
Mixed entree (pictured) was fresh and full of flavour. The perfect entree for two people to share.
The mains also delicious with a very nice touch having the curry kept hot by way of a tea light candle burning underneath.
I have to say the chicken madras was delicious nice flavours without smacking you in the face with heat much to my delight.
The rice was okay and the naan bread fresh and fluffy.
Definitely will be back time and again.
Excellent Indian food. Best we have ever had in Brisbane. Plenty of tender lean meat in lovely sauces. We went on a scoopon voucher. Staff were friendly caring and courteous. We will return for sure.
A lot better than we expected to be sure! We went on a scoopon, and were still treated beautifully. I had the lamb rogan josh and my friend the beef nisha. Well, I was regretting not having the nisha! My rogan josh was great though, meat was tender, not fatty at all and a nice gravy, but the nisha was the winner here! Never had a curry with peanut butter in it, but boy was it creamy and mighty tasty! All the entrees were great, the rice was so so, but no biggie. Loved the naan too, we were offered a free upgrade to a stuffed naan but chose to go with the plain. Light and flaky not greasy, was a great naan. We'll be back.
Can now call this my local Indian of choice, and one of the better Indian restaurants I've had in Brisbane. The curries were different to others I've had and I liked them a lot. Flavours were great, and service was good. The naan breads aren't soft but quite crispy and flat which is interesting, but still good.
I like how they serve the curries on a flame so that it stays warm throughout your meal. Very nice touch.
Quite nice and authentic Indian cuisine. The meals are not over sweetened with sugars like most (western) Indian food. Definitely one of the better around the South side of Brisbane.
I love this place! I'm a butter chicken fiend and after moving around Brisbane quite a bit, trying different Indian restaurants, nothing compares to this one. Flavours are consistent with every visit, naan breads are always of great quality and the employees are really friendly.
Picked up a few dishes to go (Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosas, Pakoras and a few flatbreads) and was blown away at the taste and quality. The chicken was super tender in the tikka and biryani, samosas were generous and loved the pastry they used, pakoras fried perfectly and the flatbreads soft and tasty. Really impressed at the taste and quality, would highly recommend for any function or celebration.
Best Indian ever!. Wow - what a find. Such lovely food and swift, friendly service. Food has the correct complex Indian notes - without all the salt. The Karahi Paneer is to die for - it's final-meal-on-death-row incredible. Love Gateway of India!
Awesome food! By far the best Indian I have had in a long time I highly recommend the lamb rogan josh
We decided to have dinner here because of all the positive urbanspoon reviews. Best decision! Both the tikka masala and the muglai were incredible. Friendly service and in a nice local spot. Will be back for sure.
Such a beautiful looking restaurant, perfect for any type of gathering whether it's small of large. We thankfully enough live right around the corner from the place but would definitely travel for it if we didn't! Great service matched equally by the great food. Keep it up guys!
I wish there was a "loves it" option. I am so incredibly excited to have found this place!!! After holidaying in India two months ago with my fiancé & tasting all the delicacies there, we had been searching for a place in Brisbane that served Indian dishes as authentic as foodies in India itself! & FINALLY THE HEAVENS GRANTED OUR WISH! HOORAY!! If you want the best Indian food (actually if you want the best food in general), there's no other place to be. Not to mention that the service was impeccable... Even after making a mess by dropping my butter chicken all over the floor, LOL the super kind tall waiter assured me it was okay & cleaned it up with a huge smile on his face!! Gateway of India, congratulations on your amazing staff & complete food authenticity- it's gonna to be so hard for my fiancé and I to resist going back here every single night!! Seriously wish we could get married at your establishment so that all our guests would be able to taste your amazing food!!
Have dined here several times, service has always been exceptional and food is outstanding!! Will continue to take my family here!!
Top Notch Indian. It can be really difficult to find great take away in Logan (that isn't a chain restaurant), as we don't currently have much of a restaurant culture. My husband and I had all but given up when we came across Gateway of India in Springwood. At this point we have tried most of the dishes on their menu and we have never been disappointed. Every dish has been delicious! We also find the prices very reasonable. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.
We went to gateway of India 3 times also went last nite. We loved it and we tried many restaurants in brisbane, we think its the best north Indian restaurant. Good customer service along with delicious food.
Dined at this place on a Monday night as reviews were good and some places are not open. Meals were hot and served quickly! The food had depth of flavour and was so tasty. On our way home now with takeaway, as it was booked out last night and tonight! Highly recommended :)

Lovely place, staff were very helpful, food was quick and delicious.
Wasn't Disappointed!. Visited after reading reviews on here. Myself and partner got the banquet, entrees were good, mains were exceptional. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants great service and a great meal at very reasonable prices! On a side note, another party brought their eskies loaded with beers, spirits and wine and the corkage is only $2 per person for this privlidge! Will see you with friends again soon.
Utterly amazing. I've eaten at this restaurant multiple times, the food is always amazing, the meat just melts in your mouth!
When purchasing take away the staff are well informed about waiting times so you arnt waiting unnecessarily.
The staff are friendly, happy, well mannered, impeccably presented.
Myself along with my family & friends will definatly be going back.
Lovely food and service - a great new restaurant!. My partner and I went out to Gateway to India for dinner last night, and we felt we got great value for money and a lovely night out.
His meat dish was full of generous servings of good quality lamb in authentic sauce, and I had a huge selection of vegetarian options to choose from. My own meal, and the entree platter, were delicious, and service was quick and friendly. We were asked how our evening was twice and had water replenished without even having to ask! We lingered for several hours as the seating was comfy and the atmosphere very relaxed - even approaching close time, we never felt rushed or hurried.
Great new suburban restaurant, will be returning and bringing friends!
My partner and I loved this place! We received a menu brochure in the mail last week and being avid lovers of Indian, thought we'd give it a try. Absolutely no regrets! Beautiful food, great service and fresh and clean surroundings. Can't wait to come here again, best Indian I've had in Brisbane so far!
