I'm not a local, and only stopped in to this place to grab a snack while out that way running errands.
Tons of locals eat there, and I can see why. Good prices, fresh seafood and a nice, simple approach. It's a non-descript place in a really basic set of shops, but it's really, really worth checking out.
I was there before lunch on a weekday, and it was buzzing. Good to see. (Support local business -- they've been hardest hit over the last few years...)

Battered Whiting was amazing! Battered or crumbed on-site. (Not frozen stock) Chips cooked in clean oil, salted to perfection. Snapper, Barra, Cod etc. Snapper & Barramundi fillets in the cabinet looked very fresh. Giant Prawn Cutlets. But the Home-made Prawn Spring Roll alone is worth the trip, with whole prawns, lightly fried & flavoured roll - amazing too! Great coffee. Nice cakes. Lovely owners. Dine-in clean & comfortable. Take away for your trip to nearby beaches - beats all beachside cafes!

Fish was nice, burger not so good. Salad not as good as I remember. Ordered on line for a specific time and when I went to collect was not ready and had to wait another 25 mins. Expensive, due to 15% surcharge. Overall not good value for money and quality very average.

Not well organised but the service was good. They didn't have a booking. We were a large group so if we couldn't find enough tables we wouldn't be able to eat here. But once seated the food was amazing. Great value for money. We opted for the platter 1. Huge servings.. Very fresh. The scallops were my favs.

Great little find. Not conveniently location but it turned out to be perfect for my family. There was 14 of us so l did make a reservation during the week but when we turned up nothing was set up and they had no idea about my reservation. A bit annoying but we quickly rustled up some tables. Now about the food itself, its awesome. Very fresh with lots of variety to choose from the menu. We went for the platter 1 and it was still too much for my family. They are very generous and it even came with a hugh seafood salad. We loved it.

Freshest seafood in Sth East Brisbane, Servings are great and the service is prompt and friendly avoid the Wynnum waterfront this is the best in the area. Buy it and go to the waterfront.

Just ordered some take away for dinner. It took a long time for our food to come out (about half an hour) but it did seem quite busy. We sat down outside, which has a large covered seating area with tables and chairs. I ordered a piece of cod and small chips, $10, and my partner ordered a dinner meal which came with salad and a drink also, for $17. Food was nice and fresh when it came out.

The last time I ate lunch here I was violently ill the rest of the day. I have coeliac disease and cannot have any gluten, including crumbs of cross contamination such as from a deep fryer that has done crumbed fish. Generally I have found that if I have had an accidental crumb I just feel slightly off for a while but given how ill I was, it was either a super sized dose of gluten or outright food poisoning from their food. The young lady serving us did not offer to replace my meal when she admitted there was an item containing wheat cooked in with it and served to me on my plate. The extra money I was charged for a gluten free meal was not refunded. <br/><br/>The person I was dining with didn't feel very well after the meal either and she's not even coeliac so it could have been good old fashioned food poisoning. Another customer claims that they do not cook gf food seperately at all but just choose the cleanest looking fryer instead. I will never eat here again, even if they manage to cure my coeliac and I have a choice... anywhere but here.

It's hard to find good fish and chips these days but this place does it pretty well. Wait times are reasonable considering that's there's always people in the store waiting. Food is priced averagely. Our go-to for fish and chips in the local area.

We have bern to this Fish and chip shop, a few times, since it opened. <br/>Today we ordered platter one (for 2 people) and we think it was mixed up with a seafood basket. Only 2 small pieces of fish, 2 pieces of calamari, and about 20 chips. We did get the 2 pcs seafood bites and 2 scallops, but only 1 prawn cutlet. Our order was even checked by staff as they thought they forgot the calamari. Unfortunately, the food didn't seem up to its usual standard either. Disappointed and still hungry. <br/>

It is always a seafood shop who serves fresh raw and cooked seafood for locals in all suburbs. This place is one of those who located among complex of commercial suites at Tingalpa. It was early in Saturday morning at 8:30am that I meant to drop in for a cup of coffee. I saw a friendly staff serving a lady for some raw seafood and it made me so impressed that this shop must sell very fresh seafood and it is the rule of thumb that their cooked seafood must be good because the stocks' turnover should be quicker due to the raw seafood market share. Well, even I missed their food but the coffee that they made it for me was not bad at all. I promised myself that I would be back!

This seafood cafe seems to always be busy, no matter what time of the day. I had high expections of this place, and being a fresh seafood shop too where you can purchase all types of fresh fish to take home, thought they must do a good Fish&Chips. Have been here 3 times now and its been average and expensive!! My partner seems to feel 'sick' and tummy pains every time we have eaten from here. So we will be on the mission to find another local F&C shop.

I love the fish - both fresh and cooked- from here, but sadly the chips aren't quite right. I wish they'd return to a regular chip (like the ones you used to get with fish and chips years ago). <br/>The place is a little rough around the edges, and the tables are normally full of dirty dishes. <br/>That said - it's the fish that keeps us coming back, and that's the most important thing for a seafood cafe!

Great seafood. Best seafood place in the area. Also, their chips and salads are amazing! Good and quick service, even if it's super busy on Friday (which is a very good sign) - the staff/team and the food preparation is still very well organised. I wouldn't go anywhere else for seafood.

Nice fish. Nice chips. Good service.. My wife and I went there for lunch today as we were in the vicinity. Quite a lot of people having lunch which was a good sign. I had prawn cutlets and chips. All very good. My wife had the half cod and a potato scallop. Her only complaint was that the potato scallop was not as crispy as she would have liked. All in all, a good experience.

Very Impressed. We tried this café after several disappointing meals at Barts in Lota. Not only was it about 20% cheaper, the meals were bigger (and better), free sauce from the fridge mounted in the eating area and complimentary fruit platter. The fish was huge and cooked perfectly, the chips were crisp and the service very good. It may not have a lot of atmosphere but if you're looking for a good seafood meal and like to take a bottle of wine with you, it was perfect.

This place has way improved, prawn cutlets are made with fresh prawns. Burgers are good. Just the crumbed fish to improve now and I think it’s a 5 again. Bring back some fresh reef fish.

Great fish and chips. Absolutely amazing seafood. Succulent and extremely tasteful food that is accentuated by its aesthetically pleasing appearance and mouth-watering, potent aroma. I have never been disappointed at Marine World Seafood Café. There is an enormous assortment of fresh fish to choose from, which tastes as though it was caught seconds ago. From the first bite I always experience instant gratification. The staff are all exceptional and do their absolute best to ensure my visits are pleasurable. Gluten-free options are always a plus for my celiac 2 year old. I travel a lot and Marine World Seafood Café is hands down the best seafood joint I have visited.

Savour The Fish & Chips, Not The Ambience. Been twice, great fish & chips both times. Seemed a top end fish price but they delivered with a top quality crumbed fish, with excellent chips. Take the food away, the ambience is carpark driveway commercial and go to the bay, enjoy the Wynnum Manly foreshore witha top quality take-away. The TV in the sit down area is video fascism, why do restauranteurs think customers must have it while they eat and talk? While you are waiting, or if staying and you can find a place away from the TV, they do provide newspapers, which is a good touch.

Yum yum yum!. Ate here on the weekend. The staff are the best just like the food. Theres a guy with a moustache that brought out our food, he carried all of our plates on one hand! There was 7 people at my table! Overall great place to eat. It's not a high class restaurant so don't expect table cloths and table service but the overall service by the staff is fantastic. Great food, delightful staff definitely will be back!

I've eaten here quite a few times and it has been excellent each time. Strange location but it works. I travel pretty far to eat here as they have the best calamari I've ever tried soooo soft. Grilled salmon is a must and it's a great place to bring the family as they have heaps of artwork in the dining area that my kids go wild for. Highly recommended. Great food

Terribly average!. Went here after seeing the rave reviews and likes - big mistake!! It has the ambience of a truck drive through - big TV screen on a concrete slabbed outdoor eating zone with a TV screen on - meh!!<br/><br/>It gets worse - the underlying seafood may be fresh but the cooking leave alot to be desired - chewy calamari, pre-crumbed everything else including rubbery cocktail sticks and God knows how old scallops, the only thing fresh was the fish - we asked for batter - BIG mistake. Thick fatty heart attack style coating aka greasy spoon fish'n'chips from the '70's and the chips ordinary. The seafood platter didn't even come with salad.<br/><br/>Horrible ambience and location and ordinary to below ordinary fish'n'chips - PASS!!

Best Seafood Lunch I've Ever Had. My friends have been raving about this cafe for a long time so I decided to bypass my local fish and chip shop and I'm so glad I did. <br/><br/>We enjoyed some Dolphin fish, calamari and prawn cutlets all were very well done.<br/><br/>In fact, we enjoyed the meal that much that on the weekend we decided to order some seafood. Normally, I'm used to having to drive out and pick up my fish & prawns but I opted for delivery which was well worth it and was very prompt. <br/><br/>All of the food was fresh and the staff even offered to prepare the fish however i liked and offered numerous cooking tips.

A celiacs delight. When I saw they offered crumbed and battered fish gluten free I had to make the half hour drive to see for myself. And it was well worth the drive. Had crumbed gluten free barra, calamari and chips and it was lovely and fresh. Delicious - definitely going back

Little Fat Man. This place is exceptional, the food is authentic and great value for money!! I went to Gambaro's for a seafood platter for 2 ($94) and it was half the size of what Seafood Cafe offer. The potatoe scollops are home made not frozen, nice entertaining area and very friendly greek family running the place.. Highly recommend eating here..

Went last night with 2 mates after finishing at the gym. We were really hungry and ordered a seafood platter for 3. Wow, unreal!! Everything was fresh and delish! When were all done there was still some left over (all be it a small amount)! Recommend it highly to everyone... Unreal fish and chips!!!

Definitely the best seafood around. I used to prefer crumbled fish but their batter is incredible. Cheap oysters, large prawns that are actually large, crunchy chips and really friendly staff. Recommend battered barramundi.

Sunday Feast. Ate here for the first time last Sunday. Both the food and service was excellent. Food was ready on time and the atmosphere was exceptional. Towards the end of our meal the owners treated everyone there with complimentary desert. 10/10 I will be back!
