Review Hotel Richlands - Brisbane

With the membership price, it's value for money. Staffs are friendly. Food selections are less but with the discounted price and Monday kids are free, I cannot ask for more, done a good job. Will go back again, nice environment.

Our group of five visited for the Saturday Buffet. As members, we were charged $30pp. We liked the Asian/Thai dishes and the Grilled Salmon.

Can't speak highly enough of this place if I tried! The service was fast, and on point! June the hotel manager couldn't do enough got us to celebrate a birthday and the food was diggity bomb!!!! Will definitely be back! If I can give a hint, don't wear tight pants, you'll pop your button by the time you walk out of there 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have been there multiple times and the people and customer service has been lovely. So this review is just of my experience this evening but the guy working at the bar/gaming near the buffet was so incredibly rude, he seemed irritated by the fact I wanted to buy drinks (if he was busy it didn’t need to be taken out on me) and then seemed angry at me for asking, very politely, if I could get a straw, me thinking it wouldn’t be very covid safe of me to reach behind the counter and get my own. His customer service made me so uncomfortable that it has turned me off wanting to go back

A lovely place, very well set up layout with buffet. Great range of different foods from deep fried, Asian, roast and a massive range of desserts. Only had mussels, seafood salad and deep fried calamari in seafood but for the price you can't complain. Very clean and tidy. Waitress forgot table water but it wasn't the end of the earth. I can only recommend it with the experience that I had and for me, it was 9/10

An evening spent with family, eating plate after plate of great food was a fulfilling experience, service was excellent, friendly staff, full house! Thanks for the experience!

My wife & I had dinner at Hotel Richlands for the first time on Wed 24/2/22 first impressions very clean and staff were very polite. Food what's good a nicely displayed. Only one complaint the hot chips did not look very nice they just didn't look fresh ? but my wife and I will definitely be back for dinner again soon 9/10 Thank you.

Been here twice now, both pretty similar experiences. There’s a decent amount and range of selection, but the food is slightly bland and not very flavourful. Their buffet could be wonderful if the flavours are improved.

Very poor, bland flavours, concerned about food temperature , only one in our party of fifteen wasn't up all night vomiting. No one was able to eat what was on their plate, pumpkin soup tasted like it was made with vinegar. jelly had good flavour.

Had the Express Lunch Buffet today and even though there's a wide selection of food, it is all not flavourful enough(I guess that's expected for a club's buffet)

Food is quite bland and is not a range of food. The food needs a lot more flavour and majority of the staff are quite rude & unwelcoming.
Only good thing is the dessert bar filled with fruits, ice cream, cakes and jelly

Bar staff extremely rude. Had visitors from overseas and took the to this place. Food was great and most of the staff. The ladies behind the bar that evening were extremely rude not only to us but other families from where we were sitting. The worse part is they stand around the corner and start yapping away when there are people waiting to be served.
I recommend you either get rid of the ladies behind the bar because they have no customer service skills at all or put thesomewhere they are not seen.
My visitors were disgusted by this behavioir and we will never go back there. We will also be letting friends and family know too.

Terrible ! I know it's an all you can eat buffet but this was so unorganised.
First garlic bread was ice cold . Told chef and he didn't care same with the other chefs and didn't replace them. There was no potato salad at 7pm as the chefs didn't make enough for the night. There was no bread rolls I had to ask the manager to get them after observing it had been 20 minutes and no one had refilled them. There was no cutlery I had to ask them to be replenished . I had spoken to th manage pretty much four times having to ask for stuff as the staff were not organised and did not replenish anything . The spaghetti tasted like someone had poured a jar of salt all over it . Staff were Sour also. Won't be going back every again.

A good night out. Lots of families, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and having a good dinner. Adults are $28 fri-sun and $26 other nights. The carvery section could have been better: the pork, for example, was a bit dry/unfresh. There was good variety. The dessert bar was very good. The tables/dining area was a lot cleaner than you often see at Sizzler. The salad section was nothing compared to Sizzler. Overall, 8/10. I'd go back.

Worth the travel. Have been here frequently, and last visit was yesterday for a Christmas lunch with work collegues. Food excellent, which was why we went. Great value and plenty of variety.

We booked knowing they were busy and surprised to read comments in another review about large "god bothering groups". It is Richlands which neighbours Darra & Inala. We attended knowing an Islander group of 130 had also booked. They arrived, and whist busy with kids of all ages were delightful and polite and kids no bratty than any other social group. Being immersed in a multicultural environment is part of the charm to coming here.

I too adjusted my final booking number with a "Jasmine" who seemed rather vague & no where the reservations book whilst talking to me. When we arrived there were no notations or adjustments indicating our final numbers! So do be vigilant about who u speak to when booking & quote their name back to the greeter at the door!

We loved our lunch with the entire party (except for me) being first time visiters. We were in spot on 11.30 and eating at 11.40. Chinese was fresh and veggies crispy. They had a pumpkin & sweet potatoe bake that was delish. Roast beef still tender. Lasagne mediocre, fried selection was crisp and with decent oil. Deserts were plentiful & variety good. Mouse was the only let down. Powdery & not mixed properly.

This venue is a great place for lunch with family or extended family & friends. Post mix soft drink great value & easy self serve set up good for all ages.

We found the staff friendly (considering they were run off their feet) & we stayed there until kick out at 2:30. Our large Islander group (ie church group) were delightful, considerate and polite. I would be prepared to eat with them at any buffet setting!

Thanks Richlands Tavern. Our work group enjoyed our catch up & your food, venue & service contributed to that experience. Everyone attending said they would be back & bring their guests along too.

All you can eat. I have been here for breakfast and lunch.
The breakfast was ok, but couldn’t seem to find decent cooked eggs.
Such a large variety on food too.
The lunch buffet is the best, so much different food to choose from, and was amazed by all the different food available, defiantly way better than sizzler.
Both times been here, there was a large amount of food, and if they noticed they were getting low, they restocked straight away. Staff are very friendly.
But toilets are hard to find.

I have been here a few times for dinner and once for breakfast. I find the food overall pretty good at dinner. The Chinese can be hit and miss, so I guess it depends who cooks it. The breakfast, I thought, was great value for money. As for the service.... Terrible. Nearly all of the girls are rude and abrupt. You'd have to bribe most of them to get a smile out of them. And we have a little joke everytime when it comes to booking because the first two times we went there, we booked, and when we got there they seemed to have forgotten to write us in. The third time we didn't and it was made VERY clear that we should book. So now we have a bet whenever we go as to whether or not our booking has been entered. Good times.

Bad experience. Food was close to revolting.
Pasta was left stewing for hours. Asian stir fries were tough and had something added that repeated. Curries had skin forming on top until staff slopped them about.
Crowd was odd mix of locals and a big bunch of loud, fat people wearing god bothering slogans. At least it was clean

Dinner buffet has a great selection. Good food, good service and reasonable prices.

Lunch is good value, dinner is a little bit up their for what it is. Although service is very friendly.

Wow. Number 1 buffet for price everything and more will be my number one choice. And with beer and pokies and karoke and sports bar all in one place what more could you ask for

Its a pub buffet. We've taken our family here twice now, with Mr7 declaring that it is 'better than Sizzlers' - so if you have a young family that is easy to please, you will probably enjoy the food here.

There is a deep fried section including calamari rings, chicken nuggets, gems, etc. A carvery/roast section with one or two typical precooked roast meats, some steamed fish, plus several beef goulash type dishes that no doubt are made from last nights left overs. Having dined twice, we found these dishes to be hit and miss, the first time definately better than the second. Much the same can be said for the 'chinese buffet' with several chinese style selections and prawn crackers. The 'salad bar' is very basic and most probably not the primary focus for the majority of diners in this area anyway. Both times we dined we enjoyed the pesto pasta dish, but the lasagne and spaghetti/bolognese dishes were average.

The sweets bar is another story.......(if only the staff knew how to label the items correctly). The have a large selection of cake/slice items, all individually portioned just right, so you could just about have one of each if you were so inclined! They also have the typical soft serve/topping/smartie bar for the kids, as well as trifle, pav, jelly & fruit.

In summary, I would have to say the main meal components are generally lower quality to appease the hungry masses, but if you have a sweet tooth, you could probably overlook that and go straight to dessert.

Not too bad here... Definitely prefer buffet gardens at sunnybank plaza more though. AND its cheaper!

Haven't been for a while, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Still really good selection, the vindaloo and Japanese chicken was really yummy, as always the brownies and macaroons were sensational !!! Guinness stew and mash.... Yum. Food temp was much hotter than normal, which is aways a good sign.

What an experience!!. What a welcome change to finally find a Brisbane pub with a buffet style restaurant that serves delicious home cooked food. The roast I had simply melted in my mouth. The Hungarian beef goolash oozed with flavor. The salads we fresh and green and the desserts totally out of this world. My hat goes off to the chef!!!
Overal it's service with a smile while adding value for money also... CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK :)

Average.. Ive been to this restaurant twice for two big occassions(a 50th birthday and wedding). On both occassions, i never had interaction with the staff so im not sure what their service was like. The food we found very average, main meals such as roast beef and seafood dish were quite bland. We enjoyed dessert the most as there was a great variety with our favourite being the cream filled profiteroles.Overall, the ambience/food/service was average.I wouldnt go out of my way to visit this restaurant again. What we found very annoying was the fact that we had to pay cash at the bar for our alcoholic drinks..they didnt have EFTPOS. RIDICULOUS!

Not a bad experience. Clean new hotel. Buffet is ok - lacking in chicken dishes I found. Went there for lunch on Friday, didn't book - and found that the lady at the reception counter as we were paying, made sure we knew we didn't book, was not friendly at all. So make sure ya book! Nice simple meals, but needs a bit more variety. Fresh salads & everything we ate was yum, frozen calamari a bit tasteless. But good food experience overall.

Revolting Experience. The customer service here is absolutely disgusting and appalling and that’s being kind. We had made 3 phone calls and visited the establishment to confirm our reservation to only be greeted by a disorganized & unprofessional duty manager who eats with a dessert bowl whilst laughing with two other staff members at the front reception 10 minutes prior to service. No tables were organised, our proposed area within the “restaurant area” was disregarded and informed the function room was only available that has an apparent $300 booking fee, the duty manager spoke over the top of me when I voiced my concerns as it differed to our initial booking, and we were blamed for the lack of communication amongst staff and duty managers pig like manners. The food is mediocre and is something we expect eating at a buffet, thou reasonable considering the large portions. I have never felt so belittled and embarrassed in my long line of dinning experience as we had family members who had come from interstate to celebrate our special occasion. Disgraceful!

Bad experience. Went last week with my sister. there wasn't a lot of variety of food, some foods were tasteless, not enough veges around, beef and veges - beef not cooked, veges smothered with soy sauce. Honey chicken omg, the chicken were like peas in a pod - could hardly find them, Coffee machine not working, tried the other machine and only got frothed milk. Not enough salads. Only good thing was desserts which were yummy. Wasted money on the night.....a family with kids left like 3 big plates tipped on the floor, looked like vomit, not impressed at all and complained to staff

Great food. We went last night to the buffet all 16 of us and had a great feed..I have to say that it is the best buffet I have ever been to in regards to selection..the temperature of the food and freshness..most you go to always have something there that has been rehashed..the food is tepid and not hot or tasty..admittedly i didnt try everything that was there but what i did have was hot tasty and fresh..unless you book i dont think you would get a seat it was fairly crowded but the food was always being topped up so there was never any problems with anything running out..the decor of the place was very funtional and the dessert bar was of course the best..so top marks to the cooks and the staff as i would definitely go back many times.

What a great choice.... What an amazing choice on the buffett at Hotel Richlands...there really was something for everyone...my booking was for 15 people and we were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The tableware and ambiance were to be admired. The food was presented well and all served at the appropriate temperature for each dish. Tasty asian selections complimented salads, roast and breads to name a few of the hundred or so dishes. Children were catered for both in choice of meal and in the games room nearby. The dessert selection was to die for...individual serves and a huge selection. I can honestly say that all 15 of us will eat here again and that really something!!!
