Really popular local favourite. We should dine there more often
I drive 20 minutes across town to go to Moti Mahal. They have the best curries in Brisbane. Make sure you try the Chicken Lahori and Bhuna Beef. Not too sweet like other places. Just perfect. The staff are helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.
I travel a lot regularly ( Europe. Asia , Middle East etc) and always look out for an Indian Restaurant ... Moti Mahal is one of the best.
Has a fabulous range of curries , the two dishes I had Korma and Madras both were absolutely tasty.
Their vegetable platter is a must to get a taste of everything good about Indian flavours.
It’s a small restaurant but eating inside is plenty of space you don’t feel cramped.
Lassi are really nicely flavoured.
Takeaway seemed very popular on the night I visited.
Met with a friend for dinner the other night for the second time in 6 months at this restaurant, The food was great and very tasty and a good size. The only thing that was a bit of a let down was the 2 waitress's looked like they had just come from the gym. Just over $40 for 2 mains, Rice and a Saag Naan and we walked out full.
Just had my first take away from Moti Mahal absolutely yummy and very large servings. Will certainly be back and the service was extremely fast as well.

Got curry to take away last night with the vegetarian platter and some naan. Everything was amazing and service was polite. Would love to dine in some time as it is a lovely restaurant. We will definitely be here again.
If you are looking for authentic, this is it. The curries they make here have the most amazing flavours. If you love curry, then you will love Moti Mahal.
Great indian food at an excellent price. It is very quite when dining in, but you see a lot of takeaway orders going through the door. I have been a few times now and will continue to come back. Ceylon fish curry is definitely my favorite.
Recently ordered take away from Moti Mahal, the curries were really good. The food is reasonably priced with a large variety of curries on the on the menu. I highly recommend the Ceylon Fish Curry!
Fantastic! I'm a lover of indian curry and I've settled on this place as my regular after trying 5 or so other restaurants in the area. The quality is what you'd expect from a much more expensive restaurant, the serving sizes are very generous (I struggle to eat half) and the value is outstanding!
This is the best Indian food I've ever had. Great customer service and great price as well. Had the butter chicken and the Roti, really good. Highly recommended.
My favourite Indian joint. A hot Vindaloo is my standard and these guys do the best one I have found on the north side of the city (or really anywhere in Brisbane, I just happen to live on the north side). The staff are friendly, the food is reasonably priced and delicious.
Good customer service and nice curries. This is one of the better Indian restaurants in the area. Love their butter chicken and Vindaloo but the naan is a bit dry.
Best Indian Takeaway on the Northside. Hands down. We've never had a disappointing dish, everything they make is delicious and we highly recommend.
My favourite Indian restaurant. I first went there because I lived in Everton park and it was close, but I've since moved several times and it's still worth making the trip back. They do the best butter chicken I've ever had. It's so good that I thought butter chicken was my favourite curry, but it's actually a pretty unremarkable dish in general that the Moti mahal have done something very special with. I recommend their tandoori entree and chicken saagwala as well. Their naans are also fantastic.
We were so delighted to find this place a few years ago. Considering we have firends and family from India we cant speak highly enough of the food at this great little restaurant. The food has never let us down. Dont miss your chance to dine in or take away from this little gem.
Quality Indian food and good service, every time!. The curries are phenomenal at Moti Mahal - I have eaten at at least 6 other indian places in Brisbane and none of them compare. My favourite dishes are the veggie samosas, lamb madras, dahl makhani & fish masala. I have had better naan (shout out to the Bengal Indian Restaurant in Freemantle WA!) but otherwise I cannot fault Moti Mahal.
For those commenting on the atmosphere, sure it lacks some ambiance - but I don't mind because it means I get the awesome service all to myself. The place is never too busy (mostly takeaways), so my husband and I enjoy the peace and quiet while enjoying our grub.
Lastly, if you're around for lunch its insane value! A takeaway tub of any non-seafood curry and rice for around $10 last time i checked... It's no doubt the best lunch deal for kms in any direction!
From one massive Indian lover to another... Do yourself a favour and check out this joint. It's not exactly our local but we treat it as if it were. Such great food and staff. Thanks for the amazing food which we will continue to eat once or twice a week :-)
Shouldn't work - but it does.... I love Indian food - and I love good atmosphere. When the 2 are combined - add an Indian beer and you've got me hooked. Moti Mahal misses the mark with a beer and atmosphere - but where it lacks in these areas, it makes up for it in it's food.
First off - it's BYO - which is fine - but having an ice cold Cobra beer with an Indian meal is something I miss. Thankfully there's a BWS over the road from the restaurant.
The atmosphere - well there is none. It's like sitting in a cafeteria eating a meal. There's no decor on the walls - no music - and nothing that makes you have the Indian dining experience (other than the food of course).
But the thing with the Moti Mahal is the food is pretty awesome. Once you're in conversation and have your food coming to you in different stages - you tend to forget where you are and just enjoy the flavours these guys put together.
The guys who work there are great. The manager comes out to make sure everything is ok with the food - and on more than one occasion he's said 'do want some more' and just brings out another plate of food on the house!
If you tell them the spice / type of food you like - they'll put something together off the menu for you. My favourite being the lamb badami. If you haven't tried it you must give it a go.
I know they do a massive take-out trade - and although I don't think the atmosphere dining in is great - I've only opted for take-out once - and I have been eating from there almost monthly for over a year now.
If you want amazing food and you're not too worried about the whole Indian dining experience then you have to give it a go.
If you just want amazing food - then order take-out. You won't be disappointed.
Prices are very reasonable and they don't forget their customers!
Unassuming but packs a punch!. Very unassuming little 'blink and you'll miss it' shop if you're driving along, but it serves pretty flavorsome and great value Indian takeaway. The service is really good whether you dine in or out, although the dine in is really not that flash, the owner/manager/cook makes you feel like you're the most important customer, which is very important in getting repeat business! I'm a little far from this shop but would happily reorder food here again as the flavours are quite spectacular and the prices are competitive.
Fantastic value and very generous portions, I had the banquet which had a bit of everything including an of the dishes on the menu and complimentary rice. Will be back the next time I fancy Indian!
Excellent Indian, chicken tikka masala not too sweet. Happy to make this my new Indian take away of choice
Best Indian In Brisbane!. We've been eating at Moti Mahal for 4 years and the food and service have always been amazing. When we first ate there, I ordered the Butter Chicken and was came out looked nothing like I was used to. When I tried my first mouthful, I was blown away! And it's still my mainstay. A family owned gem, this really is one of Brisbane's best hidden secrets.
Yum, YUM, YUM!!. Tried Moti Mahal for the first time and was really really impressed! my new favourite Indian!!
Will eat again. The best Indian food I've had in Brisbane.
I have visited Moti Mahal a fair few times and tried a lot of things from the menu and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. I would strongly recommend a Seekh Kebab for an entre, the Chicken Lahori or for a vegetarian dish try the Paneer Butter Massala. Add poppadoms, any choice of naan bread and some mango chutney for sides and you can't lose. A++
This is my new fav Indian restaurant. I highly rate the Masala Butter Paneer. Great authentic tasting and for a reasonable price.
The great flavour of Taj Begal is now on the northside finally. This is by far the best butter chicken I have ever tasted. Highly recommend and will be back for sure.
Authentic & Great Value. If you're looking for authentic North Indian cuisine in the Northern Suburbs of Brisbane (of all places) then this IS the place. Located in a corner block of shops (Night Owl Convenience store on corner) the restaurant actually faces Stafford Rd & the external look is pretty plain while the decor is your typical suburban basic look and there's plenty of available off-street free parking at location. Quite an extensive menu and all reasonably priced @ AUD$5-9 Entrees and AUD$17 per main (AUD$15 for takeaway). We enjoyed papadums, roti, vegetable samosa's and chicken tikki marsala (mild) served with complimentary saffron rice. Absolutely fantastic - tasty with great spicy flavours. Highly recommended. So pleased we tried this after seeing on Urbanspoon website. We'll definitely be back!!
Nice Find. Hi All,
Found this new Indian restaurant near home and its the best Paneer Butter Masala I have had since a long time.
The quantity was really good and was really inexpensive too.
Will go back again.
Cheers

Very nice Indian food. Very good taste and good portions.
Easy for take away or for dine in.
Very friendly costumer service.
Plenty parking outside .
Definitely recommend.
Thanks
Ordered 3 different curries and some naan for a family lunch. They were ready in a very reasonable time, piping hot and all were delicious. I don’t live in the area but will definitely be suggesting we get food from here next family get together.
Came for dinner and it did not disappoint. Good prices and serving size. Had mixed entree, butter chicken, lamb Rogan Josh, chicken tikka Marsala and beef vindaloo. Naan and pappadums for sides. Rice came with meals. All meals were delicious and we didn’t wait long. Highly recommended.
Got the $15 lunch deal for Smoko today. Was a great meal. Good portion. The lamb Vindaloo was delicious and piping hot. The garlic Naan was good.
Always fantastic value for money and delicious food. This has been our local "go-to" Indian for over ten years. The chicken tikka masala never fails to disappoint!
