Review Apples On Ainsworth - Brisbane

Cute cafe with friendly service, coffee is very average. Tried the 🍎 Big Apple - can't go too wrong with basic breakfast items. The bacon was dry but everything else was nice 🍎 Spanish eggs - great potted eggs, mince can be a bit dry but overall good flavours

Great Cafe! Looks a bit average from the outside but actually has a lot of character. Coffee is really good, the food is always delicious and prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend.

Cute little rustic cafe in the suburbs. Great coffee!! Latino influences in the menu options, as I believe the owners are Venezuelan. All the furniture is mismatched, just like the plates, bowls, spoons and everything- it’s just full of character.

A cute little cafe with a South America feel. The staff are friendly, nice and are happy to chat. The food is fresh, bold and robust. Anything from the menu will delight the senses and will fill you up. The portions are a great size with reasonable prices. The drinks menu is fresh and delicious. You won't be disappointed by coming here. Enjoy local produce and a great atmosphere.

LOVED it. Lovely spot to have a coffee and eat. I've spent months trying to find arepas. Delicious!

Great Coffee, friendly staff, Amazing atmosphere!

Had an amazing breakfast here! Ordered arepa’s and they were delicious.

Food was great, had their big Apple brekky. Good serving size and all cooked well. Looses a star for the wobbly table which got a bit annoying and lack of fly screens meaning the odd fly tried to steal my food. The eclectic mix of furniture and nick knacks gave a real South American vibe which was cool. And the large coffees were massive! I'll head back again for brekky for sure. But with a wedge of cardboard to put under the table leg...

I was lucky to have an impressive dinner last night; however, the luck has not left me yet and I have an impressive brekkie this morning when I checked out this local cafe in Salisbury this morning.<br/>Honestly, it is the first time that I see so many customers there upon arrival. <br/>I ran in the cafe and was served by a friendly barista (it seems to be a new management). Then I ordered a flat white and a croissant with ham & cheese.<br/>It did not take a long time to have my coffee on the table. The antique look coffee cup is very impressive and so as the coffee. Nice aroma with good strengthđź‘Ť. Next to come is the carefully warm-up croissant sitting on a wooden broad. It tempts me to have my first bite without hesitation. Wow, nice soft texture with subtle saltiness from the ham and cheese. Although it could be be compared with produces of French patisseries, I am satisfied!<br/>Rating 4.5/5<br/>Previous rating: May 2019, 3/5; Aug 2015, 3/5

We came here twice over the course of 3-4 months hoping to give Apples on Ainsworth another chance. Unfortunately, the second visit was another dissapointment. <br/><br/>Both times we visited at around 11.30am. Staff were not friendly and did not say hello. Instead demands a “what do you want?”. Very blunt and unwelcoming both times. Seems as if they didn’t want us to dine in? <br/><br/>The food was average given the price, $19 for the Big Apple and around $13 for two small portions of a chicken toastie. Something which I could just make at home without making the trek out. <br/><br/>With the change of management, I would not come here again.

With new managers taking over at the beginning of the year we were excited to see what would happen with the cafe. While there have been some changes to the menu, and the staff are more friendly now, the cafe itself feels as though it’s long overdue for a deep clean and a freshen up. They still do quite good business, so hopefully with some profit they can do it up a bit.

New owners her are doing ok! The new menu is a big improvement on the previous one and prices are still very reasonable. Very comfortable little cafe if you are in the area đź‘Ť

What a hidden gem, well maybe not so much as a local market seemed to be producing quite a few customers on the day we visited. We were actually lucky to get a seat outside with the pooch. The food was rustic & homely. My order of house beans came in a ramekin well seasoned with chilli & coriander & cheesey toasted fingers on the side. Coffee was well done too beautiful flavor & very creamy

Ate here this morning with a group of friends. I ordered the Spanish eggs with a side of bacon and haloumi and an iced mocha. It was the best breakfast I've had in a while. Good vibe to the place and popular amongst the locals. Very quiet area which makes this place a hidden gem! Didn't get to take a photo as it was too inviting!

There is more than what meets the eye at this hidden gem!<br/>In love with the styling of this place; the furniture, cutlery, menu font, even the little teapot cosy! Service is prompt & friendly with earnest people. My mushroom boat had just the right amount of mushrooms, spinach, haloumi (grilled to perfection), topped off with pesto. Happy morning.

Underrated Rustic Cafe! I love the ambiance, music choice and menu selection - you can go adventurous or within your comfort. The food doesn't disappoint either way! I love the presentation; the cutleries, mugs and plates used in this cafe was a great touch! It kinda feels very rustic with a touch of community feel. The food was beautiful and coffee was great! Good service as well! This place is a hidden gem.

I love this place. The food is always so delicious! Was so stoked when I saw they were now open in the evenings and just had our first dinner! Will be seeing us more regularly :)

Starting of the day at Apples on Ainsworth - a hidden gem located at Coopers Plains :) Entering the cafe you'll feel some vintage vibes. With all the old wooden shelves and rusty chairs around, you'll gradually find yourself feeling relaxed in a antiquated coffee shop. <br/><br/>Their menu serves a nice variety of breakfasts, juice, smoothies and coffees. I went with the Spanish Eggs w/ extra Avocado and a Mocha today. <br/><br/>The coffee had the adequate amount of chocolate and caffeine combined - tasty! Breakfast came and my Spanish Eggs was served in a little pot. The avocado was neatly cut and placed on top of the fresh spinach. Lastly, the cheese toast was put next to the pot of eggs :) Honestly, I was enjoying the potted eggs (mince, beans and cooked salsa was also in the pot) more then the cheese toast. There was a bit too much cheese inside which made it extremely heavy and filling. I ended up finishing everything else and leaving two strips of toast on the side. <br/><br/>All in all, a nice experience. Service was good - no complaints :) <br/><br/>Thank you Apples on Ainsworth!<br/><br/>

Had breakfast and coffee couple times here in this hidden gem. If you walk by it, it's hard to imagine that this humble little coffee shop has one of the tastiest breakfast and coffee in town.
Hayley
Absolute hidden gem! Nice friendly service with great food. Excellent coffee, smoothies and juices. Would definitely come back here another time.

Ordered the Mushroom Boat with a side of bacon. It was pretty good. With mushroom, avocado, haloumi, egg drizzled with pesto on a bed of spinach. <br/>The decor is shabby chic. <br/>Service is helpful and straight forward. The TV was showing daytime movies so a bit boring for me... Picked up magazines to read.<br/><br/>Unfortunately they don't have plastic kids cutlery but they offered a wooden board for the LO.<br/><br/>It's nice for a brunch date with friends.

Reflecting on the new year, I have found that consistency is not in my nature. Over two months into the new year, time to break out of that habit. (I say that now...) Continuing on with my brunch adventures of last year, I found myself at Apples on Ainsworth on a Wednesday accompanied by the girl behind the camera at the photoshoots I do, Tanya from White Lace Films. We were on a full day schedule and we thought we'd throw in a brunch session to get us pumped for the photoshoot.

We were on our way to Nom Nom Cafe in Salisbury, but unfortunately Nom Nom is closed until March for renovations. <br/>I had bookmarked Apples on Ainsworth due to its good Zomato rating so we headed there (btw it is not in Coopers Plains, it's in Salisbury).<br/>When we entered, Mrs Kan Do remarked that the decor was more shabby than shabby chic and seemed a little apprehensive at what the food might be like. <br/>Fortunately, her fears were allayed with a couple of tasty burritos. We ordered the pulled pork burrito and the Mexican burrito, and I wasn't able to prevail upon Mrs Kan Do to also try the haloumi stack. <br/>The wraps themselves were nothing special, but the fillings were done nicely. No jarring combinations, just light and flavourful.<br/>Reasonable portion sizes at good prices. For what it is, a good find.

Just had brunch here today with my friend. My friend got the savoury mince and I got the big apple. The savoury mince had a strange flavour and was not very edible whilst my meal was very under average.

I entered the cafe  at midday with high expectations, high ratings on Zomato and the atmosphere seemed cosy. Walking up the counter I said a friendly "Hello" to the waiter. Sadly, the waiter responded with a flat "What can I get for you?" He seemed bored - really bored. I ordered a small Chai Latte. I sat down and waited for my takeaway order. I looked around noticing that the dishes that were served were so small, particularly the meat pie, just one meat pie no sides, no salads. 20 mins later I received my order (which correct me if I am wrong but that seems like a long time for one coffee). I picked up the cup saying "have a great day" he responded flatly as I left. My experience overall was quiet disappointing although, brief as I was expecting better service. Not to mention that the Chai Latte uses liquid syrup which tastes like insect repellent and the milk was not froffy.
S.K
Food and coffee were average. The ventilation wasn't good indoor. However, the deco is retrospective and cute, which is probably the highlight of this cafe.

Came here with my young family. Good coffee. Polite service. Yummy food. But VERY SLOW. Be prepared for loooooong wait. <br/><br/>Prices on par with inner city cafes. <br/>
Winglam.cyrus
I went there few times for brekkie. It is a cosy place to spend a morning at. I ordered long black and it is reasonably good and I think the food quality is always promising. The menu is not too big to give you headaches.

Ordered the mushroom boat (without pesto) and avocado on toast, which was consistently delicious with my previous visits to Apples. The flat white which was ordered on the side was smooth and had a sweet aftertaste. The service is always friendly and welcoming and the cafe is in a good location with plenty of parking around. Highly recommend.

Wonderful little café vibe! Was looking for something a little different and we had a 2 year old who was welcomed with open arms by the caring staff. The lunch special (chicken or beef burritos) were great and the juice was made with quality ingredients. Great location with park across the road for the kid and a park right out the front. 10/10 would recommend!

Came here for a drink. Didnt expect to have brunch. Ordered a citrus punch and a chocolate milkshake along with some bacon eggs and halloumi stack. Slightly expensive for the meals but was very nice to have. Friendly service and cozy atmoshere<br/>Know

Cute little cafe with personal touches. Fresh juice was nice. Sourdough was nice also. The bacon was really nice and not salty. Just thought the size and cost wasn't great compared with other much nicer cafes closer to the City.

Came here for coffee, love the mug size coffee, love the environment, cozy  cafe for the neighborhood. <br/>looking at people's breakfast which are really nice and big, already decide to come back for the breakfast one day.

There was a time when doors turned into tables and rickety chairs was just shabby instead of shabby chic. The tides have certainly changed and some of my most favourite cafes (namely the groovy hole in the wall, Southside Tea Room) have adopted this decorating style. There's something comforting about repurposed furniture, old items that otherwise would have been disposed of are given a new life. But in their new life, they bring with them their history and there's a warmth in the history of old things. And there's warmth to this café, Apples on Ainsworth, which comes not only from it's worn and mismatched furniture but from the welcoming staff as well.
Samie
Aside from the incredible fresh juices, I felt they've let their organic ingredients down. I was looking forward to my breakfast burrito and although the homemade beans were to die for, there was nothing else that made it wow. Sauce was too sweet, cheese came out of a packet, the tortilla is a tortilla. <br/>What an interesting mix of crowd in the cafe. From families to the more eclectic, Apples is certainly catering to a large demographic. @sipping.brisbane

Nice vibe and good food.

Food is lovely! Nice little space overlooking the park and bowls club + always playing some funky music. One of my faves on the Southside!

The decor could do with an update as it looks a bit tired and old.<br/><br/>But the food is delicious and definitely worth trying, and the juices are amazing!

Had a very nice breakfast at Apples. The service was lovely and meals were tasty and a decent side. The cafe is quaint with antique furnishing which add to the atmosphere of the place. Would recommend.

Long time customer that has watched their service slowly go downhill. Apples on Ainsworth used to be a hidden gem in the 'burbs, serving up delicious, wholesome food, by the charismatic Colombian, Alejandra. Well, it seems the quality service had departed with the aforementioned owner. What is left is merely a shadow of what Apples on Ainsworth used to be. I can only describe the last 4 visits as contemptuous at best with incorrect orders, poor service and food lacking the flavour of previous years. The coffee quality also seems to to vary, with the nearly departed barista, Sam being the only reason for a visit. Hopefully the current owner can improve on the current situation, I remain optimistic and will be back soon to see.....

I have had 2 takeaways chai lattes. Luke warm and weak. Not inspired to try anything further. And I thought it would be something that's hard to get wrong. Oh well. Place keeps busy so maybe their strengths lie elsewhere.

Do not let looks fool you, this is a seriously awesome little cafe in Salisbury! I have heard of this place for years, however it has only been recently that I made it here.....SO FREAKING GOOD!!<br/><br/>Apples on Ainsworth is a funky hidden gem in Salisbury and regardless of your location, it is well worth your effort to visit!  Great coffee (Byron Bay Beans), outstanding food, genuine warm service and funky tunes all make for a wonderful and memorable experience.<br/><br/>If you love bacon, add it to your order! I had the Spanish Eggs [Baked Eggs, Spanish Salsa, Homemade House Beans, Organic Mince with Organic Cheese Fingers] and added the Organic Bacon on the side.  Hands down, the best commercially produced bacon that I have ever consumed!
Miguel M
Great little spot for breakfast. Met up with a friend here for a mid week brunch. I had the Canadian Special which came with organic banana bread delight free range bacon, canadian syrop and banana my friend had the avo and haloumi stack, both were great. Lots of yum sounding stuff on the menu most with a little twist from the ordinary. I imagine it would be hard to get a seat on the weekend but i would say its worth a little wait.

Walked into this cafe by chance and loved it! Overall, the staff were some what friendly but the food was delicious. Will most likely be back again :)

Nestled in the leafy surrounds of Salisbury I discovered the quaint and very hip Apples on Ainsworth. I enjoyed a lovely Sunday breakfast nestled in a nook taking in the ambiance of the eclectic decor. Hot chocolate - divine! Food - delicious! Service - fast and friendly. A memorable Sunday experience.

Clearly one of the best !. Love the deco, the food, the coffee and even the people that comes here ! It feels everybody knows this place very well. The staff seems to know some customers pretty well. Obviously regulars keep coming because it's one of the best cafes in Brisbane...no doubt !
Lids
Rude and disinterested staff(she was yawning half the time) and bacon was very dry. The only good thing here is the coffee.
Jussy Marie
I have never waited so long in my life just to be served. I stood second in line for ages while the barista slowly made coffee like all ocd baristas these days and the server thought it more important to run drinks and make orders then serve the person who has been stood for an incredible length of time. After running about 5 orders he was about to serve me but then new coffees were made and apparently that needed to go out first. Maybe consider another staff member for weekends? I cannot serve, make drinks, run drinks and clear tables without it slowing things down. I just got a take away coffee I have been here about half an hour. Apparently it's always this busy. The que out the doors, I hear the food is amazing.. That says you should get more staff

Great Breakfast/Brunch, Great Location. Living only 5mins away I love that I have finally found a breakfast joint that does not require a drive half way across town. It's a simply little place in the middle of suburbia with the most sought after breakfast options that taste just divine! Any-time I have an avocado on toast craving and a fresh juice I'll come here. The portion sizes are perfect and the prices are just fantastic! I'm so tired of paying for overpriced meals which makes coming to Apples on Ainsworth so refreshing as I know I will always be happy and satiated when I leave. If you are going on the weekend, get in early as sometimes they run out of food options as it gets closer to midday, it's getting too popular ;) 10/10

Great brekkie. The eclectic retro fit out is questionable as to individual taste but boy is the coffee great and food is very good. I'm always keen to come back. An absolute gem for brisbane diners.
Melissa
Food is great. Banana bread, bacon and bananas was delicious. Chicken sandwich was pretty good. Their large coffees are literally huge. No real kids menu tho so if you're bringing the little ones feed them at home or bring food for them. Although the kids milkshake was pretty good. All in all a good experience.

Mushroom boat was a lettuce boat. I have been going to Apples on Ainsworth for a couple of years now, but hadn't been in the past six months or so. Previously, I only only posted photos, which I thought spoke for themselves. The food was great and it became our local regular.<br/><br/>My most recent visit over the G20 weekend was, however, disappointing. I ordered the mushroom boat, which I order almost every time I eat at Apples. I wasn't impressed. My mushroom boat, which used to include several large mushrooms, came with half a dozen button mushrooms - hardly what you would call a mushroom boat. The plate was dominated by a mountain of lettuce (not spinach as per the menu, and I'm talking about 75% of the plate). The haloumi was cooked to a crisp, so that instead of being soft it was chewy, and to top it off the amount of pesto (which itself is delicious) on the plate made everything very oily. In fact, there may have been more pesto on my plate than mushrooms. <br/><br/>The only redeeming part of my meal was the coffee. I had a 'dirty hippie' (aka a chai latte with an espresso) which was, as usual, very well made.
The Devourer Of Food
Try reading this is the most up market English aristocratic accent "take my money and give me my burrito". Oh and my caffeinated banana smoothy.

Poor Service and Staff Rude. Apparently they are open til 2pm but today we arrived at 12.50pm and were ignored at the counter. There were no menus in sight so I asked to see one and they said the kitchen closed at 1pm (still 10mins to go). The staff were very disinterested in offering any alternative or even service for a coffee.
Ashley
Amazing little cafe, perfect creamy coffee, great service and the best food! Coming here from now on!
Gerardcl
10/10. Wonderful<br/>Great Cafe with awesome staff !! Attend this cafe regularly with mates and we all love it. The smoothies are amazing (banana smoothie with an espresso shot - unreal !) and served in a sweet jar ! The halloumi cheese is even better here than at the greek club. Could not recommend a better place !

Apples on Ainsworth - Cooper's Plains, Brisbane. My dining buddy was back from overseas, and just felt like a good, big breakfast out with a nice coffee on the side. A search on this site had me having the best places for breakfast in the southern suburbs upon the screen, and with this place the first one to come up not visited that was enough for him to decide that it looked good. Whatever it had, it did not matter to him. Thus it was quickly off the two of us went. <br/><br/>Many times when an eatery can be referred to as unsuspecting, often that is specifically describing the appearance of the shop particularly the shop-front. This time around, it is the whole area that does not look like much. Therefore, it is unlikely someone would be around here for an eatery without prior knowledge much less be able to happen upon the place. My dining buddy and I had to double up to find it, even with the address in the Garmin. <br/><br/>Once it was spotted, the parking was straightforward. A spot managed to be landed right in front of the cafe. There was something relaxed about the area, quiet with very little traffic through fare. Inside was characteristic, going for a causal look with influences of a tea party theme; it certainly has one of the more extensive tea menus that I have come across. Vintage seems to be a trend at the moment, and this is another place that has that. Instead of the "retro-trendy" style of vintage, it is more towards visiting grandma. Most suburban cafes would be incomplete without the al fresco option, and that was what was went with. It is counter service here. <br/><br/>It was going to be a case of indecisiveness, but I decided quickly considering what is less likely to be available wide-spread: there was a Mexican Burrito. This was a giant flour tortilla filled with minced beef, house beans, avocado, basmati rice and a house salsa. As an extra, I requested some bacon. This was where the service was noticeable in being effective; the waiter taking the order asked if I wanted it on the side or in the burrito, and I opted for the latter. A further question was asking whether I wanted just one, and I did considering the space and size of the wrap. Breakfast was going to be incomplete without the coffee, therefore it was an extra-shot cappuccino for me. <br/><br/>You get your money's worth here; portion sizes are massive and this is with food that does not look like it is kidding around. The avocado in the burrito was actual slices of it, and the bacon rasher was more akin to a slice of speck. Everything about the burrito was good quality, and slightly spicy with various complex flavours in it. This was a better burrito than most Mexican places I have been to, even some that specialise in burritos. I also got to try a bit of my buddy's mince toast, which was just as good. It came served on thick, sourdough toast. The coffee is also good, and better than most places that utilise Byron Bay blends. It was slightly strong, and for my dining buddy being nearly bereft of good coffee places overseas, was all that he needed. <br/><br/>This is one of the better recent finds, with its quiet nature and high-quality service. Get here before all the trendies come, as it has the appeal towards them all over it and almost will require no extra effort to get once it is found. All the right boxes were ticked, even down to how kid-friendly the place would be if the baby were brought along. Being so close, it may well be one trump card that I will play if any guests ask about a good place for breakfast nearby.

Yes yes yes. Being Sunday, my boyfriend and I wanted, unsurprisingly, to go to brunch (brunch being that awesome excuse to sleep really late and then still order breakfast). After some online research, we decided to go to this beautiful place. The line was long at 11:00, and I'll be the first to admit we were a bit discouraged (and very hungry). However, we stuck it out, and when the two couples in front of us refused a little sunny outside table, we snagged it, cutting our predicted half-hour wait to fifteen minutes. B (the boyfriend), foodie that he is, spent the brief period before we were helped taste-testing the organic coffee + organic Maleny milk combo, which were especially smooth and good. He ordered the Big Apple with really awesome halloumi and I got the Breakfast Burrito with added bacon (and a fresh juice called Citrus Punch). Everything was delicious. The juice was nicely sour and the bacon was the best bacon I'd had in a long time - full of flavour and smoky. My burrito was awesome - a nice tortilla held the house beans, spinach, avocado topped by cheddar and a sunny egg and a heavenly sauce called tomato relish. Again, if any adjustments needed to be made, they were minor - I, for instance, prefer my egg flipped, but that wasn't ruining anything. The meal wasn't expensive - it came to about $40 for the two of us - I think we both agreed worth it. We'll be back. Soon.

My favourite Coffee Spot. I can't remember if I've written a review for these guys before, but I went in again this morning and, yet again, was blown away by these happy, friendly people and their fabulous coffee. I always get a triple shot and it keeps me jittery for the entire day - exactly what I'm after from my coffee. I feel blessed to have these lovely people in my neighbourhood.

OMG .. a m a z i n g !!!. I'm not surprised this place is loved by so many people. Very good value for money, amazing breaky...in my opinion best coffee in miles.<br/>Highly recommend the Canadian breakfast (the most amazing banana bread EVER toped with bacon and syrop...to die for)<br/>I'm already planning my next visit with my girls and I know exactly what I will be having!

Found this place via Urban Spoon and was not disappointed. <br/><br/>Ambiance - Really loved this quirky cafe with its retro furniture. It make me feel like I was visiting my nannas place. Outdoor seating available too. <br/><br/>Service - pay at the counter service with a smile. Staff are really friendly and add to the homely, community feeling. <br/><br/>Price - reasonable prices for the servings. <br/><br/>Coffee - Absolutely delicious coffee. Obviously made with love by very talented baristas. <br/><br/>Food - Good selection on the menu. They don't have sausages here but the bacon is delicious. I had the baked eggs which were divine. The food was fresh and very tasty. <br/><br/>I hope you like it as much as I did!

So tasty! If you are checki.... So tasty!<br/>If you are checking out the reviews for Apples on ainsworth to decide if you want to go for some breaky or brunch!?Just go, you won't regret it.

Staff unfriendly. I went here for breakfast, stood at the register before the staff acknowledged me, the guy making the coffee made eye contact with me but kept looking busy. The lady that was serving finished what she was doing until she acknowledged me and wasn't friendly at all. The water cups are plastic with a shade of brown to them. Our Avocado and Labna came out minus the Labna so they took the meal back to put it on. overall a bad experience. I have seen the store evolve from when it was a fruit shop and was expecting a better experience than what I had this morning. The food is well priced but i wont be back.
Blah_blah_yum
Not bad for a local.... Went here for breakfast recently. Menu is simple with a tad of colloquial flair. Coffee is good. However, if you are looking for amazing food head elsewhere as this is basic. Price point is 'you pay for what you get', so good value. Big brekky $15 and variations of scrambled eggs etc $12ish. The only dish that really stood out on menu was a banana and bacon combo, didn't try it but reckon it's worth a trip again just to try this dish. Friendly casual atmosphere. For a local it is recommended but don't drive too far.

Great breakfast spot! Very popular so best to go early!

Sets the standard for what a suburban cafe can do.. The breakfast place that everyone is talking about, and it isn't in the city or New Farm, or the Gabba or West End, it's in Salisbury.
La3chai
Superb!. I don't like writing reviews for places like this as I don't want too many people to know about it!! Great ambience, staff and food. Not a thing wrong. Definitely will be back.
Adamsann14
Oh Apples how much we love you !. We eat out for breakfast every weekend and are always keen to try somewhere new but we always come back to Apples which is officially my favourite. Awesome food, awesome service, awesome coffee and they just get it 100% spot on every time...and the house beans are to die for :)
Myda
Wow! Had breakfast here with girlfriend, she had the big apple and I had Spanish eggs, both were delicious! Awesome service, very nice people. Definitely be back.
Laura
Great breakfast and vibe! LOVE IT !<br/>Ohhh It felt great when we found this hidden gem. My gf told me about this place so I went w/ my bf and we just couldn't go without leaving a good feedback! The place is great and beautiful decorated. My bf was happy with his big breakfast (big apple) and his fresh juice. I had to order a take away coffee for my mum because I know how much she loves good coffee. Overall a very nice breakfast and grrreat coffee :-)
Happy Tummy
Good coffee but poor food & service. My partner and I went out for breakfast with a high expectation from good reviews on this website. It turned out to be a disappointing experience:( <br/>First of all, it took about 15min to get a coffee - that's ok, we can deal with that. In fact, it was one of the best coffee we ever had.<br/>But it was a loooong wait for food after that. It took about an hour and people who came later than us were getting served before us. My partner ordered a Burrito and the egg was overlooked so was not runny. I had a roasted tomato and egg which was dry and cold so I did not eat all of it, as it was simply unedible! Plus the service was poor. The staff did not say a word when he brought our food and coffee and did not acknowlede that there was a delay. <br/>To sum up, it is a good coffee place but not for breakfast.
Troy Poles
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. The best cup of coffee you will get on the southside.

Amazing Apples. We think the quality of food and service has improved with the new owners. Great music, great coffee, the avocado and Labo on sourdough toast is amazing. Service is friendly; I can't speak highly enough about it.
Kim
Amazing service, amazing food, and the BEST coffee i've ever had
Hotmum
Beautiful food and friendly staff !. Really impressed with my visit here. I was a bit weary given the high level of hype which for some places can set high expectations but under deliver but I can happily say this was certainly not the case here. It was very busy but did not take long for us to be seated, the waitress that served us and who we spoke to was really helpful and friendly. The coffee was wonderful, very smooth. The wait for food was honestly a little longer than expected but once the large serving of the Big Apple was served it was definitely worth the wait. A really enjoyable experience, on a side note I liked the music too and definitely cannot wait to return!
BrutallyHonest
Unfortunately this is my local but more often then not I drive to Davies as the coffee is perfect every time! Take away coffee at apples is a long and boring process. If you don't speak to the person behind the til you wouldn't get a coffee as they just stand there staring at you until you speak. No greeting or conversation. The coffee is over priced as is. Being across from a park with loads of mothers and prams I'm always surprised when no one will walk your coffee out to you if waiting outside with pram and dog. Sometimes I go here. But not happily
5mins_more_sleep
I used to love this place but sadly with the new owners the food has really gone down hill. We ordered the big apple as we have done before & it was all a bit sad. One sad & lonely mushroom, dried up & about the size of a twenty cent piece just doesn't cut it. Overall the whole meal was a disappointment. Coffee & atmosphere still great but that's really not enough. Don't think I'll be back again.
Noemi Torres
Great atmosphere! Great food! Fantastic Coffee! I'll be back!!

Had breakfast this morning and was delicious. Generous servings that filled us up and tasty ingredients. The beans were amazing! Definitely will be back.

Great little cafe. Went to have brunch here yesterday and loved it. The place is a little small but service was quick and friendly!! The owners seems to enjoy talking to customers and the food was great. They recommended the bacon sandwich and it was amazing!! So many great flavours together. Will definitely be back !!

Disappointed :(. It used to be my flavourite until the ownership changed. The hot choco tasted artifical, the Big Apple (the Big Breakfast) was just looks like the normal Big Breakfast with dried scramble egg, the mushroom is tastless and seem like only half cooked (mushroom and the sunnyside egg was flat (I was expecting a bit runny).<br/><br/>The funniest thing was my boyfriend and I ordered the Big Apple and the Mushroom Stack, the waitress sent the food to the table with a single man who had just sit down for a few mins; even the man has mentioned the food was too quick and he did not order the Mushroom Stack, the waitress still left the Big Apple and planned to take only the Mushroom Stack back to the kitchen until my boyfriend called her back for our breakfasts. Isn't it a common sense that if the customer has mentioned he only ordered one meal and two meals came at the same time, should she checked the docket from the kitchen with 2 meals?? <br/><br/>The overall experience was not impress, no good food, no good drinks and no good services, I have told my other friends who was a fans of this place don't bother to go back.

Everything about this place is refreshingly different, from Mexican inspired menu (burrito for breakfast?) to old china cups they use to serve coffee. Very nice food and friendly service.

No Table Service. Not really any Counter service either.. They were full. Packed to the gills. Nevertheless, there was a high level of table turnover, which boded well for me as I was by myself so couldn't exactly grab a table *then* order.<br/><br/>Once I made it to the counter I was asked before ordering if I already had a table. Which I didn't... See above.<br/><br/>"Well how am I meant to serve you if you don't have a table?"<br/><br/>"weeeellll, how am I meant to get a table if I'm by myself?"<br/><br/>There was, at this point, at least one table free outside.<br/><br/>"Just leave your bag or something at a table, no-one will take it or anything. That way you can have a table and THEN come and order."<br/><br/>So, I said nicely that I'd come back when they weren't so busy. This is when the lady at the counter panicked, leaned over and started pointing, saying (in a tone indicating I was being unreasonable) "No, look, just grab that table and"<br/><br/>And what, I'm not sure, because I'd already started leaving because if you can't have table service AND you insist I use my personal gear to 'bags' a table, I'd rather eat somewhere that isn't a schoolground. <br/><br/>See, my bag has my work stuff in it. That's several thousand dollars worth of laptop, a thousand dollars worth of camera, a headset and misc other tools. Leaving it on a table on the sidewalk just isn't going to happen, no matter how much you promise me it "won't get stolen or anything".<br/><br/>What if I didn't have a bag with me? How should I have indicated that the table was mine?<br/><br/>People go out to eat nice meals, not to have to risk their personal goods being stolen or to be talked to like kids for not guessing how a business wants to work. You don't have table service AND insist people have tables before they eat, because that makes that their problem. I don't want to have to stress as a lone diner about whether my table or my gear will be stolen, I want a coffee and a meal. I certainly don't want to be treated like a kid about it.

My favourite cafe in brisbane! I've been here at least 20 times and this place never disappoints. I've been coming here since they opened and LOVE it! The food is still decious and the decor is so unique!

I used to love this place but it seems to have changed owners in the last few months. The food is no where <br/>near as good as before, it's over priced and service is slow. Our meals came out and were different to what was on the menu with no explanation. I won't be going back as I can cook the same thing at home for a fraction of the price! Such a shame, this place used to be awesome.

Apples On Ainsworth - You're The Best Thing!!!. I'm a local of Salisbury. Have the same rutine every weekday. Drop the kids to school on Golda and then drive down to Apples on Ainsworth for my morning coffee fix. Never miss a day of coffee, except when they are closed on a Monday. I make sure I get there on Saturday's and Sunday's too. Have been a big fan prior to management changing and will continue to be with Miguel and Ale. Two wonderful people that make you feel you are a apart of something special. Locals and visitors line up, find a seat and enjoy. This place is very child friendly - Vintage toys and furnishings aplenty. The coffee is great. I don't have to repeat each time what I would like to staff - they just know - and that's pretty special. Service with laughs and smiles. Food has always been fantastic - kids love their toasted crossiants. The cakes and other sweet treats are always beautifully displayed and tempting to all - I would recommend trying them, starting from top left and working your way down. I love Apples - Please keep doing what you are doing - Well Done !!!

New ownership.... We hadn't been to 'apples on Ainsworth' since it changed owners so decided to give it a go today. We used to love their coffee, it's still good, but not as rave worthy as before. We also ordered the big apple breakfast which had mushroom, bacon, sourdough bread, haloumi, avocado, scrambled eggs and tomato. Everything in this dish was good but the eggs, they tasted like hotel buffet eggs, over worked in the pan with a runny cous cous texture. I love my eggs - to me they make or break a breakfast - in this case we were disappointed.

Delish brekky. Apples on Ainsworth has become our new favourite breakfast haunt!<br/>It's so close to home and has an awesome rustic vibe.<br/>Loving the gluten friendliness and organic options.<br/>A definite must! We will be visiting Apples on Ainsworth every fortnight at least.<br/>The savoury mince and smashed avo on toast with haloumi were just divine!!

Delicious and very well priced breakfasts! The breakfast burrito was perfect accompanied by a well made coffee. Worth the wait.

A World Of Its Own. Hidden in the back streetsof Salisbury is this vintage cafe which has everything you need to start the day. A great breakfast and a coffee that takes you to a far away place. New owners Ale & Miguel are a delight and made us feel very welcome. By the time we left there were people in line awaiting for there coffee. So yes very busy and you may have a short time to wait but worth every minute. Returning guests we will be. Thankyou Apples.

Cute.. This cute little cafe looks like it belongs in West End, and not some obscure suburban street across from a bowls club. Nevertheless, it's very hip, decked out with vintage this and that and I even spotted a little one rocking out on a vintage high chair (I wonder if it would meet occupational health and safety standards?). Anyhow, we ventured here to avoid the Bridge to Brisbane crowds having breakfast in the CBD. The line was extremely long at 10am on Sunday morning and it took a while for our food to come out, but the staff were so friendly and the food was great so all qualms quickly evaporated once we started tucking in. My all-organic pineapple, apple and mint juice was delicious, but for $5.90 i think the serving size was a bit disappointing. The food however, is all very reasonably priced and my savoury mince was basically a bolognese sauce on top of toast - the perfect hangover cure. My friend had the Big Apple (scrambled eggs, sourdough, tomato relish, mushrooms, bacon or haloumi) and was stuffed by the end. Definitely not as fancy as an inner CBD joint, but very family-friendly, no-BS food and a place worth venturing to.

Amazing coffee and great atmosphere. Unfortunately can't even get breakfast right, poached eggs are poached not microwaved! Hopefully food improves soon because otherwise a great spot.

Quirky setting, tasty food. Enjoyed the breakfast burrito and a 'dirty hippy' (chai latte with a shot of espresso). Food was so very reasonably priced for the size and ingredients on offer. A lot of organic produce and vegetarian options available. It's nice to try some of the smaller places in the burbs - easy to get a park and it's great to support local businesses.

Great place, great people, great food :) So chilled, can see myself becoming a regular!

Went to Apples today following Urbanspoon recommendations as we didn't want to go all the way into town. I ordered the banana bread with bacon, banana and maple syrup. It was AMAZING! My partner had a bacon and egg sandwich which he said it was very tasty. I also had a honey and mixed fruit smoothie and the boy rated the coffee as delish (and he is a big coffee snob)! Apples is such a fun, quirky place which as others say is definitely a suburban gem!

Delicious!. Went to Apples for breakfast with a friend and although it was a bit of a drive all the way into Salisbury it was well worth it! Apples is such a cozy, funky little cafe in the middle of the suburbs with mouth watering goodies to boot. A hidden gem indeed! My coffee was excellent and my poached eggs simply divine. My friend was more than happy with her very thick cut slices of fruit toast covered in honey and ricotta, yum! I shall definitely return for more Apples' awesomeness. Oh! and did I mention the very friendly service?! ;)

Great local find. Apples on Ainsworth is a great little coffee shop combined with retro flair. The coffee is great, meals are simple, reasonably priced and fresh and atmosphere is homely. Salisbury residents are lucky to have such a great local place.

Just what Salisbury ordered!. Apples on Ainsworth is a gorgeous little cafe that started life not too long ago as a gorgeous little fruit shop. The food is lovely- fresh, often organic and always delicious (especially their cakes!) and the coffee & smoothies are great. Apples also sell vintage knick knacks and I picked up a fabulous vintage dress there not so long ago. The ladies who run Apples are wonderfully welcoming and in return, residents from Salisbury and surrounds have really embraced their business. Highly recommended!

Great atmosphere, eclectic decore, tasty organic menu at affordable prices. Loved finding this treasure trove in the back streets of Salisbury. Can't comment on the coffee as I don't drink coffee but the teas are great!!

Awesome avo on toast. Lovely staff, lovely vibe and look to the place, and awesome sandwiches!!! I really like this place, but be prepared to ask for your leftovers packed up to take home :)
