Review Tomato Brothers - Brisbane

The Chicken Delight pizza and Garlic and Cheese folded pizza were very good.

Such good value. We tried the Italian Feast $25 pp, shared entree, regular pizza or pasta each and shared dessert. The Shiraz we chose was very smooth and enjoyable. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. AND they give you a box to take home what you can't eat.

Absolutely amazing service here. Thanks to the team for having my pick up order ready super quickly despite me arriving early :) The pizza's were lovely. Thanks 🙏 We'll see you again soon

Delicious pizza and also had the arancini and mozzarella sticks. It fell short of the 5 star experience as the churros were doused in cinnamon to the point of almost inedible - plus they tasted suspiciously like the pizza they were baked next to. But aside from that, great meal as always

Really yummy well priced pizza. Lots of selections. Mine was a little too juicy but will be back to try something else and hopefully give 5 stars.

We stopped into this amazing rustic Italian restaurant around 5.00pm on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant wasn't busy at that time and we felt so comfortable and well cared for by the friendly, efficient staff members. I would thoroughly recommend Tomato Brothers for amazing atmosphere and friendly staff and awesome food (also their vegan menu selection). Yummmmm.

Great menu. Huge selection of pizza and pasta. However wait staff lack of attention to details. Food is excellent. Good crowd. Great spacious eating area. They also have covered outdoor option. Nice Italian theme decor. Good ventilation 🍜🥗🍗

Wonderful selection of flavoursome pizzas. Preordered for pickup and was ready on time

My family have been eating at Tomato Brothers at Wilston for around 20 years and I can’t say we have ever received a bad meal. The Italian food is very much “American style” Italian, and so if you enjoy lots of sauce and lots of cheese, this is the place to go! The calzones here (pictured) NEVER disappoint. The quantities are generous and prices are reasonable.

Average family restaurant<br/><br/>We found the food a little disappointing at this family restaurant. The salad was amazing, but the pizza was a bit tasteless and the pasta was a little overcooked so I am not sure why it gets such rave reviews. The staff were super friendly and even though it was a busy Friday night our food came out very quickly. It was very reasonably priced and there was no charge for corkage but the food just wasn't good enough to make us come back.

I thought the pizzas were all right. They were certainly very filling, and topped with lots of ingredients for sure! For the price $25 per person, this is certainly a good deal especially if you are hungry. We have been to Tomato Brothers prior to AYCEP and thought the quality was definitely better on our first visit (Well, we ordered different pasta - the ravioli was awesome! and different pizza as well).  Tomato Brothers is a family and child friendly restaurant for sure. It is one of the places to bring the kids and why not? - each child will receive a free kid's meal for every adult meal you order.

Lovely pizzas, good service, nice atmosphere.  There were some little changes from what was written on the menu like spinach instead of rocket, and no prawns available.  But what we had was thoroughly enjoyable.  Will definitely be going back when the craving for pizza hits.

Yummy pizza here and the past my friends had looked pretty amazing. Hard to find a reasonable Italian joint around the burby area but finally a place we will be coming back to. Had the chicken pizza with pesto, capsicum and tasty sour cream sauce. Tasted amazing and the base was not to thick but not to thin exactly how it should be. Cosy on a rainy winters night and has super groovy decor. Winner for me

If you love Italian food I would highly recommend this place as they delicious pasta that could keep you full for days. They are always very well managed and have exceptional staff. Always a pleasure
Food Glorious Food
Was it because I was really hungry? <br/>Was it because I was craving pizza? <br/>Was it because the decor reminded me of pizza shops back home? <br/>I can't say, but it's definitely good. <br/>The base was crunchy, just the right thickness. <br/>The toppings were generous enough and the pizza was just the right level of wetness. <br/>I can't be certain of too many things but I am certain I'm going back for more

Well worth a visit. Service is always hit and miss but the pizza is always worth the wait. Highly recommend giving this place a go. Quality is always great.

Ok. So the pizza turns up 20 mins early, you know this had to be rushed. It's folded in half when I open the box due to transit and looks like a nightmare on elm street. Chicken classic or whatever it's called, I'm trying to get it out of my mind already. The garlic bread was thick enough to be in an Adam Sandler movie and the pasta was like the stuff we made in pre-school. The delivery lady was very nice though, I just think if your gonna run a pizza joint that's not a franchise - have a go!!!!!!!!

Got the margherita pizza and two pastas to take away. Friendly servicd. Was ready easily within 10 minutes. Great pizza and pasta. Well definitely be back for more.

Italian pizza and pasta restaurant sans lasagne. Entre of Turkish bread and 4 dips barely passable. We had the Bluey chicken pasta and gourmet supreme pizza. <br/><br/>The Bluey chicken pasta barely tasted of the blue cheese it was meant to and was oily greasy and stodgy. In fact, it was quite tasteless except for the 3 bits of shallot . <br/><br/>The pizza wasn't much better. The ham was cheap pressed sandwich ham. I guess the tomatoes were fresh, but who could tell. The anchovies were the cheapest they could find, large overbearing and full of big bones. We've had better pizzas from Aldi by putting a few extras on as you cook. <br/><br/>Service was bland and slow. Don't think we'll be rebooking. Barely worth the discounted Groupon voucher price.

We were a group of eight and shared the banquet. Food was absolutely delicious and in generous quantities. One of our group had brought along a bottle of red wine which had the old school cork. It was fragile and the chef came out to our table to ask what we wanted to do as he didn't want to have the cork pieces in our wine. He carefully and skilfully removed the cork without the pieces falling back into the wine. That's good service!!!!!

Used the voucher recently and it was very good value! The food are delicious and serving were generous, we couldn't finish the pasta & pizza after the quad-dips platter and the staff actually offered for us to takeaway. It feels cosy & homely inside, the usual price is also very affordable. The gelato bar is very inviting! Gelato look delicious and were very creamy on first few bites however it became gluey after that, not a nice taste in your mouth! Definitely will go back for pasta & pizza though

Amazing pasta and pizza! Good location. People have whinged about the price but you get what you pay for. This place makes good food , quickly, and after several visits I have no complaints to make.

10/10 would mold my teeth for their creeper wall. Waitress spilled pesto juice on my girlfriend's dress. I made peace with that, it made the dress delicious. Pizza was good too.
Ted2303
Great food great service.. Had a fantastic night out. Can't believe some of the negative comments since the staff were very friendly and the food was awesome.
The Flying Scotswoman
The food was fairly average as some of the key ingredients were clearly at the lower end of the quality scale

Delicious homemade tasting food. My husband and myself used a Scoopon voucher yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that the food they scored on all three points that were important to us; attentive service, delicious food and prompt delivery of food. We would go there again. My husband had their Seafood Marinara and I went for the Chorizo risotto with olives, shallots and other yummy ingredients.

7/10. I've only had a takeaway pizza from here once when my friend used to live around the corner and we couldn't be bothered cooking and it was good. We got the 'Veggie Rainforest' pizza which was topped full of fresh vegetables. The base was a little under cooked for my liking but it was still enjoyable.

Vegetarian?. My partner and I got a pizza and a pasta home delivered last night. Got a half & half Veggie and New Orleans pizza - pretty yummy. We also got a creamy tomato veggie pasta. It was absolutely delicious... until I found low grade GROUND BEEF in my VEGETARIAN PASTA! There were traces of ground beef all through the pasta - an ingredient that wasn't listed in the menu! Of course, I immediately gave my dinner to my partner to finish and ate the veggie pizza instead.<br/><br/>I was incredibly disappointed with the false advertising of my meal - luckily I was with someone who eats meat - or the whole $16 would have been a total waste. I loved the few bites I had of the pasta, but I would advise Vegetarians to be careful when dining here.<br/><br/>I honestly don't think I'll be getting food from here again. There is a nice Mediterranean restaurant a few doors down. Not to mention the Chinese, Thai, and Mexican places across the road. I was so excited to try Tomato Brothers - but I can't be confident with the ingredients they use.

My husband and I dined for lunch on Sunday with another couple and we all enjoyed our meals. We had various types of pasta dishes and all were delicious and the service was great. We would definitely visit again.

Diana. Well after reading all the previous reviews I am a little suprised because we had great service & our food was also delcious. Whether or not we hit on a good day I don't know, or maybe we just chose the right food out of a mixed bag. I had the vegetarian risotto & it oozed flavour & was packed with fresh vegetables. My friend had the rainforest vegetarian pizza which was also chock full of fresh veg & tomatoes galore. We were just so full we couldn't manage desert so the charming waiter actually packed us a desert pizza to take home with ice cream included

Very average. Disappointed that we drove for 20 minutes on a friends recommendation. To be honest I woul have preferred the pizza capers down the road.. Wouldn't bother unless you're a local who wants an easy meal.

Average. We dinned here on 7 July with my sister and brother in law. They had booked for 7.30pm using a voucher from Groupon. We were seated quickly and initially the service was quite good, the voucher was explained adequately but our waitress didnt really seem to know about the dessert pizzas on offer and after taking our order for entree and then later mains we were completely left alone. The entree was four dips served with garlic and mozzarella pizza bread which were delicious and actually the best part of the meal. For mains we had veggie rainforest, raging carnivore and chicken raj tandoori pizzas which were all okay. When it came time to order desserts we were told that sorry the pizza ovens had been switched off and that we could only have gelato (two scoops in a glass), For which we had to leave our tables and select at the counter. So no dessert pizza as promised in the voucher. The waitress/manager did apologise and offered a complimentary dessert pizza next time or take away but as we were leaving a few minutes later this was not forthcoming even though we were the last customers to leave. Service could be better I dont think we will come back.

Appalling Service - Terrible Food for Gluten Free Customers. Yesterday was my friends birthday and he had been given a voucher for this restaurant for 4 people. A group of 6 of us went out for dinner and thankfully because we enjoy each other's company we had a lot of fun, because this restaurant was the worst place I have ever been. (Good thing we made a reservation... not! we were the only people there)<br/><br/>We waited for about 10 minutes to be seated, when there wasn't anyone else there, and then once seated no one came and explained the voucher or anything in the menu to us for about half an hour. When the waitress came out and we asked her a very easy about the question, instead of answering she just said 'look at the menu'.<br/><br/>As a coeliac, I ordered a gluten free pumpkin soup which came out with croutons through it. And instead of taking it back and remaking it, we had to order another one.<br/><br/>When asked whether there were any gluten free desserts, the waitress said that the base was gluten free, and my friend asked if the toppings were and the waitress said no. To add to her ignorance of the restaurant and gluten free food, she said that she isn't going to say anything is gluten free because she doesn't know what is and what isn't. At least she didn't just say it was gluten free.<br/><br/>At the end of the meal we were a bit confused by some of the things on the bill - for example, $8 extra for gluten free pizza (which tasted awful), and when we asked her (kindly) to explain the bill, the waitress got defensive and said 'i don't know, it just says that. I'm only here one night a week - this isn't even my job!'<br/><br/>If you haven't understood how disappointed we were with the service (the food was a reflection of it), I made this account just to recommend not giving this restaurant any of your business. <br/><br/>Poor form. Never returning.

We have been here 2 or 3 times and the food is plentiful, and fresh. The staff are very friendly and the service was great.

Hit and miss- fair comment.. We have tried this restaurant a few times, and also their Clayfield site, which has now closed down.<br/><br/>This business is a good example, of great plans, with not regular contact from the owner or proprietor. <br/><br/>If you have a voucher or go on a special night, you may get great value. The venue could certainly do with a spruce up, but more importantly the service will either be ok to reasonable, to non-existnet. <br/><br/>The last time we visited, we had to try very hard to give the service staff the cash, (yes that is right), and this story has been repeated to me by other locals. <br/><br/>Lunch time specials can be great.

My Daughter makes a far better Pizza. Yuk - Pizza's were really horrible - think soft crust and sloppy toppings. Thankfully I didn't have the Tortellini - it must have come from a packet and made everyone sick. Won't be back

First visit. Poor pizza. Nice atmosphere but could have made better pizza myself. Thick base, over the top toppings. Had much better. Won't be back, sorry. Just kept thinking if these guys did good pizza this place would be rammed. But it wasn't. Nevermind

Cheap monday and tuesday. We ordered take away last night. Food was great and cheap Monday and Tuesday is like icing on cake.

Overpriced horrible bland pizza. Paid $45 for two crap pizzas. Flavourless ordered bbq meatlovers with chicken. Got no chicken. Had uncooked cheese grated the top. Dry and crusty like a cat turd. Parma Nova had way to much topping only so much mixed cheese. Parma Nova big giant cheese dip on pizza crust. Never returning !!!

Disappointing. We have just moved to the neighbourhood and found a voucher to try this place out in the hope it would be our new casual night out dinner place.<br/>The pizza arrived swimming in water, we found that they must have run out of rocket and just decided to put lettuce on the pizza instead, putting it directly on the base under the cheese making it even soggier and tasting horrible.<br/>Once we got our pizza and glass of wine, we weren't spoken to again (we would have paid for more wine, even if only to drown the bland tasting pizza), lacking in service for repeat business there clearly. When we got up to leave (opting out of the free ice cream we weren't willing to try after such poorly made pizza) we weren't asked how our meal was, just told we were free to go if we didn't want their ice cream. <br/>Would not recommend unless you have picky kids who don't like flavoured food - lots do so this could be perfect place for them.

We have been eating at tomato brothers for 2.5 years. Its fantastic... Try the raja tandoori pizza or the new Orleans pizza they are awesome :)
Orange Blossom Special
A Hit - And a Miss - All in One Evening. Well, we certainly got the best of both worlds, if you can call it that, when trying a pasta dish and a pizza at Tomato Brothers! I don't know how a restaurant can make one thing so good and the other… SO BAD!<br/><br/>It was a Wednesday (April 4) evening when my partner and I decided to try this restaurant. Even after reading all of the reviews on how bland their food was, we took our voucher and wanted to make up our minds ourselves.<br/><br/>Tomato Brothers have a lot of specialty nights that we weren't aware of like, Monday Madness - pasta for $12, Cheap Tuesday - $15 large pizzas, Student Thrusday (Yes, this is how it's spelled on the menu!!) - deals on pasta, pizza and drinks. I saved the Wednesday special for last in that this was the evening we were there: Kids eat Free. The nice thing about Tomato Brothers restaurant is that they have an indoor dining and covered outdoor dining area, which is a good place to be moved when a screaming child is not reprimanded by their parents!!<br/><br/>Our waiter was a lot of fun and enthusiastically told us everything we could get with our voucher. I started off with a glass of Rothburg Sauvignon Blanc ($6) and my partner had a bottle of Cascade Lite ($6.50). Both were brought out nice and cold and the glass of wine was of ample size!<br/><br/>Our appetizer was TB's Dips & Pizza Bread ($10.95). Instead of coming with a trio of dips as indicated on the menu, we received 4 dips of which our waiter was not entirely sure what they all were. Had no one asked this question before? A little bit discouraging. Putting our tastebuds to the test, we figured one was a creamy parmesan, another was a honey mustard or honey Dijon. As for the other two, the tasty "green" dip must have been avocado based and the last one which was not very exciting, was tomato based. The pizza bread for dipping was fantastic! Warm and crisp, it contained a nice topping combination of garlic, mozzarella and rock salt. (So much garlic that this would not be a good first date item!!) So far, so good; We were off to a good start!<br/><br/>Shortly after our mains appeared and because there was such an extensive menu of interesting and not so traditional pizza and pastas, my partner and I decided to split our mains. We had ordered the Pumpkin Patch Pasta ($17.95) which was spinach and feta tortellini in a pumpkin and cream sauce containing onion and spinach. This was fantastic!! The sauce was rich and thick and had a wonderful taste of pumpkin! The tortellini was not made fresh and the filling in it was rather sparse, but the all-around flavour of this dish was one we'd certainly order again!<br/><br/>So where was all this bland food everyone was complaining about?! …That's when we tried the Chicken Satay Pizza ($17.95)! How can you make a pizza with the ingredients of peanut sauce, chicken, red capsicum, green onions and sour cream taste like nothing? I use these ingredients at home and it would have to take a lot of effort to make these items flavourless! I don't get it! Everything else had been tremendously good! Okay, I will give the pizza this much: The only flavour it had was of the burnt crust. But that was it, the only flavour! My partner and I were hugely disappointed and got into a debate about the pizza and that perhaps we had ordered a bad one. I was leading more towards that all the pizzas would be bad. But while having this discussion, we did note that there was a lot of take away pizzas being ordered. Did they know something we didn't know? Had they lost their tastebuds? <br/><br/>We finished on a sweet note, however, as we had 2 scoops of ice cream or gelato ($5.50). I had the Jaffa ice cream and Mango gelato. The Jaffa was rich and chocolaty with vibrant orange flavour. It was not my kind of ice cream flavour but I could tell it was well made. As for the mango, it was just like eating the real thing! Fantastic! My partner had the Pistachio ice cream and lemon sorbet. The pistachio was good but after having the pistachio gelato at Passione in Teneriffe, nothing else really compares. The lemon sorbet was refreshing as usual, and is always a good flavour to fall back on.<br/><br/>Believe it or not, I will vote on liking this restaurant, but solely for the Pumpkin Patch pasta! (Okay and the pizza bread for dipping, too!) My partner wants to come back and give another pizza a try, believing another flavour would be better. I'm not so optimistic and after having what we had, I've been put off having any pizza at this place. I would return to try some different pasta dishes, one being the Carbonara ($17.95) as this is usually my staple dish I order to see how well they can make it. We're hoping for better luck on the second time!

Great for lunch. I've been to Tomato Brothers Wilston a few times, and pretty much every time we get good service. The quality of the food varies significantly (I'm assuming depending on the chef that's on at the time).<br/><br/>It's a nice, laid back atmosphere, and at lunch time the food is always fantastic (less people, more time etc.)<br/><br/>I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a chilled out, casual meal.
KateLoz
Bland. Food lacked any sort of flavour. It was no surprise the salt shaker on our table was empty. Will not return even for $12 pasta night on a Monday and Tuesday. I have had better tasting pasta from a packet. Most disappointing

Unhappy. A group of eight friends and myself dined at tomato Bros Wilson 7/11/11 and were very disappointed! We all ordered individual pizzas and the food was revolting. Pizzas sloppy, tasteless, too much sauce, lack of topping. Menu read "Monday/Tuesday pizzas $15 excluding seafood pizzas" but some of us were charged full price. Blackboard read $5.00 beer but charged $5.50. Male staff member handed bill. We were overcharged over $30.00, whether he could not add up or purposedly over charged us, considering we were a large group, to pocket extra $. If he scooped on large groups of unsuspecting diners every night, he would master quite a wad of cash for himself!!! We will NEVER dine Tomato Bros Wilston again!!!
