Review Kingsfood On The Park - Brisbane

I was impressed with speed of service and quality of food. Looks to be a popular destination for many as they were busy early on a Tuesday night. I will be back to try more of the menu

I am so impressed with the food and service. The owners Jacky and Jessie and the rest of the staff are friendly and very helpful. The quality of traditional Chinese food is amazing. What mostly attracted me to this restaurant is friendliness, top service and the quality of the food. The prices are affordable and the size of the meals are huge. 11 out of 10 for me! In one word Excellent! When being there for dinner, I noticed a big function at the back of the restaurant, it must have been someone’s birthday, and buy judging the look on people’s faces everyone seems to be pleased by the service and the quality of the food. The owners are genuinely interested in the comfort and the satisfaction of their customers, I have been asked on three separate occasions if the food is up to my likening and if everything is alright. This is something that I don’t typically get from other restaurants. To sum everything up. The best service, the good fresh, tasty delicious food, big portions and a service with a smile. Will be recommending this restaurant to my friends and colleagues. I made some enquiries and from what I have been told is that they do hire their big function room for special occasions, (birthdays, weddings, business meetings etc.) This is probably something I will be looking into towards the end of the year for the workplace Christmas party. I will be definitely going back. Highly recommended!

Lovely food and wonderful service. I had the BBQ duck and while it was a little salty, it was absolutely delicious. Also lots of options that sounded amazing. We also had some seasonal vegetables and stir-fried tofu that were fantastic. A large selection of drinks too. We had no issues parking, but I'm sure on some nights it could be difficult.

Lovely service, great menu and tasty food. The prices are reasonable too. I took my 2 year old and they have her a special hat to wear that she loved and it kept her quiet for half the meal. Plenty of high chairs, very family friendly. Would definitely go again.

Amazing restaurant with a professional yet relaxed atmosphere. The prices are decent and the food portions are large, perfect for a group of friends or a feast for yourself. The staff with welcoming and lovely to talk with. The place was spotless and very well presented. Lastly the food was brilliant and very much worth while.

Excellent food! Recommended by a friend originally from Beijing as authentic Beijing cuisine. The salt and pepper duck bones are now my favourite snack to go with a beer. So tasty. The place has a relaxed, unassuming atmosphere, and did I mention the awesome duck bones? Oh yep. I did. So tasty. Not seen these babies anywhere else and you will not be disappointed.

This is one of the best restaurants (not just among Chinese restaurants) in Brisbane. Me and my friends have been dining here for at least once a month in the past 1.5 years. We love the food and the service. You get free prawn crackers at dinner time and they bring back childhood memories.

Wow! Can't rate this restaurant high enough. The service was very friendly and helpful, and the food was heavenly. It's been a very long time since I've tasted Chinese food this good, if ever at all. Next time we're in Brisbane, we'll be back.

Came here on Sunday Night, slightly after Chinese New Year. Some of the food was sold out by then.<br/><br/>The interior is quite cozy, decorated with chinese ornaments such as lanterns and paintings. The service was quite quick as the place was quite empty.<br/><br/>Ordered Honey Chicken and Crispy Shredded Beef in Sweet Chili Sauce. It was crunchy but sweet at the same time. Perfect to be added on top of white rice. I ended up ordered another portion of the Crispy Shredded Beef because it was so tasty.<br/><br/>Considering the price, it was quite pricey. But for the super yummy shredded beef, I'll come back here again next time :).

Average at best. Having spent a long time in Melbourne and being spoiled with fantastic Chinese cuisine I'm struggling to find good quality Chinese food in Brisbane. Unfortunately Kingsfood is bland and of low quality. Service was friendly and reasonably priced. I suggested this restaurant from the google reviews but unfortunately I disagree with their 4+ star rating. Maybe we chose poor dishes.

Kingsfood on the park! Simply the best Chinese restaurant in Brisbane! Never thought we could taste the REAL HOME TASTE FOOD since we came overseas until we found Kingsfood On the Park in Milton! Authentic is the only word can describe their food! If you are Chinese and tasted the food here then you know what I mean. Food is so fresh and severed with big portion, reasonable price for what you are getting! Roast Beijing Duck is theeeeeeeee BEST with no doubt! My favorite dish Gongbao Chicken taste so original, fresh tender chicken stir fried in special dark sauce, diced green shallots give extra freshness to the dish! Great touch! Oh, forgot to mention the warm service! They make you feel like home! Want to avoid an flight ticket to China and explore none-westernized Chinese food? This place is highly recommended!

I don't know where to begin, first the food was such a disappointing. We order three hot dishes, three of them Taste same ( Only difference was the level of sweetness )Seems like the chief don't know how to cook without certain type of sauce. Food were drowning in the dark sauce, not even has good appearance. The portion were small, definitely over price. By the way, the omasum were not fresh and over cooked , taste like hard rubber and frozen. But the real reason why I write this comment is they charge $16 for steam rice. We order one and half bucket rice and we were not even full afterwards. Besides the first half bucket steam rice were cold!!!!

I have been thinking of Kingsfood since last month's review by Cino's Mum. We found a park across the road in front of Arrivederci, a good start to our night. Walking into the restaurant at 7pm we are met by a smiling waitress. As she leads us to our table I count eighteen diners and I'm surprised by the size of the dining area in this beautifully decorated restaurant. <br/><br/>We are hungry so without much ado I place our dinner order. Our two pots of Jasmine tea arrive in minutes and we enjoy this hot fragrant tea. After a 20 minute wait our meals start arriving. <br/>The shallot pancakes are hot, dense and chewy instead of being light and flakey. Rating 3.0/5.0<br/>The seafood and tofu soup looks appetising and is delicious. The seafood is surprisingly fresh. Rating 4.5/5.0<br/>The chicken, pork, seafood and tofu Hotpot is served in a steel saucepan rather than the traditional clay pot. It is a big serve and is welcomed by the table. Rating 4.0/5.0<br/>The salt and pepper deep fried flounder is reasonably fresh. I would have liked it fried for another half minute to make the light batter crispier. Rating 4.0/5.0<br/>The last meat dish is a Peking dish recommended by our waitress. An omelette with shredded pork, black fungus and vegetables. An unusual dish which we found quite tasty. Rating 4.0/5.0<br/>Our vegetable dish tonight, deep fried snake beans stir fried with chicken mince. This dish was the table favourite. Rating 4.5/5.0<br/><br/>There is one waitress attending to over 20 diners tonight. The girl behind the bar doubles as a waitress when required. They are friendly, accomodating and the service tonight was always with a smile. A very pleasant dining experience for our group. Thank you Kingsfood on the Park

This place is soooooo amazing! Have being here for a couple of times, never feel disappointed. The food is nice and the staff is so friendly and considerate. Strongly Recommending the braised pork belly rice, Peking duck and shuizhu beef, which are my favorite. Very authentic and tasty! And the price is also reasonable as the food are in a very big portion. This is the best ever Chinese restaurant in Brissy which will always impress you!

Not recommending this place. The menu is totally different from what you gonna order. Pork extremely dried and hard to chew, rice and dishes are cold. Lots side dishes are missing. Very bad customer service. Very rude staffs. I've asked why the meal totally different from the menu the waiter said it's actually the same no different (pls look at my photo and your say if is same). Ask why menu no eggs and the waiter replied If I want the eggs I need to pay extra. Ridiculous. Menu showing comes with egg and other side dishes. The waiter insisted saying it is the same and then telling me actually I cannot trust the menu because if they don't have such vegetables and they gonna substitute another. So if I order a prawn and they gonna give me something else ? Also telling me kitchen no egg. Unbelievable. Felt being cheated. Not recommend this restaurant. You gonna get a different dishes and totally different from the menu not to mention dishes are expensive. Definitely will not come back. Swear this is the worst ever Chinese restaurant that I've been.

Oh boy! This place is legit - no 'Aussie Chinese' or fusion shenanigans here. Just ask Jessie, our lovely server. She'll proudly tell you this is traditional authentic Beijing food. Lots of chilli, lots of flavour. Following that spiel our dining buddy goes ahead and orders (no joke)...honey chicken. *eyeroll* Bless.<br/><br/>Meanwhile:<br/>Roast pork w crispy skin ✔️<br/>Poached beef in chilli oil w garlic & cabbage ✔️<br/>Crispy shredded beef ✔️<br/>Delightfully simple bok choy in ginger broth ✔️ <br/><br/>Friendly service came with a next level eye for detail:<br/>Calling me by name from the booking ✔️<br/>Replacing cutlery straight after mine hit the floor (Again?! FFS!) ✔️<br/>Randomly anticipating I might want ice cubes for my already chilled wine (unrelated to above point I swear!) ✔️<br/>Clocking the entertainment voucher & discounting the bill without being asked ✔️<br/><br/>This is honest, enjoyable food with a homely ambience. Nice one! Tickity-tick!

The beeeeest Chinese restaurant we had ever been in Brisbane! No westernized Chinese food at this place! Visited in a very busy night, the restaurant was almost full, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer red a very extensive menu with authentic Chinese food choices. Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to taste their signature dish Beijing Roast Duck, all the duck had been reserved before they open the door as staff explained. Food came out in a very reasonable time since they were so busy! Ordered the Poached Beef in Chili and Garlic sauce and Gongbao Chicken (the waitress recommended to us), oh man, gotta say, that was amazing! Very different to all the Chinese food we had been to in Brisbane, everything is so flavored and fresh! The portion is big and very well priced, so much cheaper than the other Chinese restaurant on the top corner of Park Rd. <br/><br/>We will surely be back soon! This is our top one place in terms of having Chinese food!

We waited very long for the food and food was very average or even below average. Sauce tasted instant and all dishes tasted plain. Portion is small and overpriced. Won't be going again.

Had a really good lunch here yesterday, braised pork belly. Very good service and awesome food. Very clean and pleasant atmosphere.

Don't be fooled by what appears to be a lack of customers in the front of the restaurant.  We have been up and down the Park Rd strip for two years, and have always made this mistake.  The back area is quite large, and this is where most customers are sitting.<br/><br/>We are quite big fans of China Sea down the road, but frankly we prefer Kingsfood's offer.  The food is very high quality (and quanity), and the prices are reasonable.  Plus, best of all, we are not huge fans of air conditioning in eateries, and were quite happy to buck the trend and sit up front.<br/><br/>Kingsfood is now our choice for Chinese in the MIlton/Paddo area!

With the success of Sunnybank store, owner shows the ambitious of expanding the business to caucasian market and set this restaurant at Park road of Milton. Dined in and found the decor is nice. Menu offers reasonable varieties of food but seems that they try to emphasis some Beijing style dishes such as Peking Duck. However, the supply of "Peking Duck" is really overwhelming in Brisbane, which makes me sick of it. As a result, I did not appreciate this supposed signature dish there, particularly, they were not table-serving the "Peeling Skin Show" in front of me. Rest of dishes ordered was acceptabe. I can see there is slightly over-priced but it is reasonable that the costing to run this restaurant is high due to the geographical reason.

Excellent service and it was not too loud or crowded on a Saturday night. Waitress was friendly and was very accommodating with us tweaking the menu to suit our tastes. <br/>

This restaurant is now up to another level !!!. We have been to this restaurant couple of times in the past year, food was good but service has been really disappointing! Recently we had a family gathering dinner here and surprisingly they changed the management team! The service now is absolutely excellent! Staffs are very tentative and they have Aussie waitress dressed in pretty traditional Chinese dress, service wise it feels like a totally different restaurant, food is still as tasty as before and even better! What's more, they make excellent coffee too! Normally you don't find good coffee in Asian restaurants very often. Overall I strongly recommend this restaurant, don't miss out if you are in town!

Not very inspiring. With a number of awesome restaurants around it this was not very good - quality is inconsistent. We love our asian food and the only thing we have found was nice was the panfried dumplings, but the next time we ordered them they were undercooked and the order was wrong. Also it doesn't mention it but there are prawns in these as well as pork.<br/><br/>We tried the cumin lamb, gluggy and uninspiring and a brisket hotpot which was okay. Another lunchtime we tried the bbq plate but it was dried out. We tried again and ordered the soup dumplings but there are much better around.<br/><br/>It is a real shame as we live and work just down the road and were hoping for another good local asian - but China Seas, while more expensive and a more limited menu still trumps it, and the thai and vietnamese offerings in the area are more appealing.

Great food, Excellent service. Recently we enjoyed a night out with family and friends at Kingsfood on the park. Our experience was exceptional from the time we arrived to the time we left. We enjoyed the authentic flavours of Beijing that Kingsfood had to offer, the staff were friendly and very accommodating! I would strongly recommend that if you are in the Milton area you take time out to dine at Kingsfood. <br/><br/>We will definitely be back time and time again!!!!

Expensive and not very tasty. Struggled to eat the pork dumplings. Was quite awful. Spare ribs in XO sauce was nothing great. Not the actual spare ribs but pork chops that were cut and deep fried. Not recommending this place.

We had a group of 10 and pre-ordered over an hour before our booking. When we were seated only 8 of the meals were served. We kept trying to flag down waitstaff to ask about the other meals and when we finally got someone's attention, she snapped "I know!" We had to have three attempts to order drinks as well. The two missing meals arrived just as everyone else was finishing their meals and in one of them (stir fry beef and veggies) a few pieces of beef were not properly cooked. The waitstaff took this back to the chef, who sent a message back that the kitchen was really rushed. Too rushed to bother about food safety??? We were just getting up to leave when our drinks arrived, more than half an hour after being ordered. Bad service is one thing, but improperly cooked food is a health risk. Won't be going back and would warn others to avoid it.

We went there for lunch and really enjoyed their Taiwanese and Chinese food. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Will be back again!

Food is very nice. But it takes so long to arrive.

Have previously had dinner at the Sunnybank restaurant and loved it.<br/><br/>Tried the Milton venue for lunch and was extremely disappointed.<br/><br/>My group of 11 pre-ordered our meals 10mins prior to our seating time, arrived 15 mins later (5mins after our scheduled booking) to find our meals already on the table and cold.<br/><br/>We sat for 10 mins before anyone came to the table, weren't provided with water or drinks menu until we asked and I was frowned at when asked if they could re-heat my meal.<br/><br/>Extremely disappointed with the poor service. Will not be eating here again.

Worth a visit!. I've eaten at the Kingsfood at Sunnybank many times before and just recently tried their new restaurant at Milton. Whilst the prices are higher than Sunnybank, the restaurant is much nicer. Food is prepared quickly, and the staff are very tentative, (and for an asian restaurant that is excellent!)<br/><br/>Food is delicious too. One of the best in Brisbane.
