Review Thai Terrace - Brisbane

Lyn G
Quite often eat here when going to the cinema. Great customer service, super friendly staff. Last night after we had our chicken pad Thai and masaman beef, both as usual extremely tasty, we had the opportunity to speak with the owner of Thai Terrace. A very lovely lady who was more than happy to spend time chatting with us. Do yourself a favour if you're in the neighbourhood drop by for dine in or takeaway deliciousness

I have to admit.. the main reason I ordered from your restaurant tonight was the awesome sassy response you gave to "Karen" 6 days ago and the wonderful review you received by a patron that night, this speaks volumes and I love supporting local businesses. Will never order elsewhere. My partner ordered a bunch of sides and damn : value for money, healthy, quality and flavour 🙏 also listened to our requests for more sauce as currently house sitting so bare bones 🤭

Lovely staff and very respectful. I watched a horrible lady be incredibly rude to the woman at the counter but the staff stayed very calm and treated the situation very stoically no matter how much the childish lady harassed them. They were apologetic to the rest of the customers and carried on with their work. They did extremely well.

I took my son, nephew and brother for a special dinner. Everyone ordered and we waited an extended time for it to arrive. Each plate came separately. We were unable to eat together, and my "soup" that was noodles with no broth was not what I ordered at all. Poor service, no coffees, milkshakes or hot chocolate. It seems that any negative review you receive is treated like the customer is the problem, not a great way to run a business! Yes, your service was "all over the place" and a perfect example of why i would never recommend. If I could give less stars I would!

Visited on a mums night out and we found them to be very patient and accommodating. They adjusted really well to some dietary requirements and provided great service. The food was lovely too. Very lucky to be surrounded by some great restaurants and Thai Terrace is one of them. They also accepted 8 split bills without any fuss.

DO NOT GO TO HERE. This place is horrible we waited 1h 30m for noodles when we ordered soup and then all of the food was luke warm. A member of my family didn't even get food because we waited another 30m for the soup and they didn't even let us get a coffee and hot chocolate because we weren't as important as the customers upstairs and all of that was $100 and my family member didn't get to eat.

FOOD = 2.0
AMBIENCE = 3.5
SERVICE = 3.5

The place is inviting and service is welcoming. They have a lot of variety, Thai and other. Lots of options to choose from.

Ive been here before, was an okay experience from the food side of things. Had soup, pad thai gree curry. Its located in the heart of a food precinct with a large customer base as well.

The presentation of the food is good. Food came out in a resonable amount of time.

What I feel lacking was flavour. The quality of the meat was on the cheaper side. The flavours of the dishes were significantly missing. The chicken was bland and dry. The dishes leave you wanting more...and dont like finishing it either.

Its a shame the food isnt up to the mark.

Ate here with friends at 6pm on a quiet Friday. Service was inattentive and there was a funky smell coming from somewhere inside the restaurant (possibly a broken bottle of fish sauce). I ordered the Golden Cups and the Larb Gai. Both were served in a really odd way - the Golden Cups in an extremely fake/stale tasting pastry shell with large chunks of corn, and the Larb Gai on top of three whole pieces of Iceberg Lettuce (hidden under the salad). If the lettuce had have been served in a bowl like fashion it would have been better, although the dish on the whole had barely any flavour. Unfortunately there is little “authenticity” about the Thai at Thai Terrace.

This place used to be somewhere I would frequent but after the last time I went, I definitely wouldn’t back, it’s gone downhill rapidly. We were seated outside and had to wait half an hour for someone to take our orders. Another half an hour after that, our food came out. The curry I had was really watery, the meat was rubbery and it tasted as though frozen vegetables had been used. My friend got the pad Thai which I tried and it was super oily yet seemed to have no flavour. The food is priced quite high for Thai food; you can get great, authentic Thai in Fortitude Valley for half the price. I advise you to stay far away from this place.

I have been here a few times now. Nicely presented food, good, attentive service, didn't have to wait long for meals. It's BYO wine so that makes it lower cost. Very pleasant, I'll be going back.

Thai Terrace offered well-portioned, tasty Thai dishes in a pleasant environment. Service was very much on the ball and we were able to relax with some beer and wine.Thai Terrace offered well-portioned, tasty Thai dishes in a pleasant environment. Very ordinary for price.
Red curry was watery and very basic, with dry rubbery chicken. No fresh herbs or lime.
Staff were friendly enough

it's one of the places I tried for lazy evenings with delivery. it is not bad. but not the best. pad thai is not good.

Had a great meal here with a group of friends. Good food, good service.. Would definitely recommend!

Not that great Pad Thai. I've just ordered Pad Thai takeaway from Thai Terrace and was disappointed. It was just dry and lacking a nice consistency of sauce and a variety of its beautiful flavours that it should have. There was so much noodles and very little chicken. I would love the restaurant to have a good look into improving the dish, and I look forward to trying some of the other meals.

Great ambience, delicious food.. I ate here a few mo ths back with my partner and we thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we ate and the ambience and atmosphere was divine. I would definitely come back and plan to within the next up coming months.

Very enjoyable. Have been desperately searching for a decent thai on this side of town, as some of them are pretty ordinary. Very happy to have found Thai Terrace a few weeks ago. Due to lots of visitors etc, we have been to this restaurant 3 times in the last few weeks and each time everyone in our group enjoyed all the dishes ordered. Love the duck and great seafood! Service is good, although sometimes little too efficient. All the staff are helpful and friendly. On a busy night the place gets a little noisy but so do many other restaurants. We will surely be back.

Booked as part of the movie deal for blue room - service was very fast and attentive (maybe a bit too attentive as we got asked if we were ready to order 5 times in 3 minutes). Chicken cashew ok but sweet, Thai green beef was ok, but the stir fried beef in oyster sauce was so chewy and sweet that it was pretty much inedible - maybe just a bad cut of beef...well they have a long way to go before they challenge My Thai..

Good looking resturant but poor tasting food. Went to Thai Terrace with a gathering of friends. I had "golden bags" ($16) for entree. They were supposed to be chicken but tasted of fish sauce. Main was chicken Pad Thai ($20.50) a staple of any Thai menu. This was dry and lacked any great flavour. The shallot in this dish was in 4cm long strips, not diced and overpowered. The dish had very little chicken but did taste like chicken, unlike the entree.
Friends ordered spring rolls, that look like they were straight out of the deep freeze, a massaman curry that was runny and bland and a Thai beef salad which had half a head of iceberg lettace, a grated carrot and not much else.
All in all, there are much nicer Thai Resturants then this.

Delicious Thai. Went to Thai Terrace last night with a group. Great service and delicious food. Worth driving across town for. Highly recommended.

It's been nearly 3 years since we first and last tried Thai Terrace-and we are converted!

The food is faaaaaaabulous! The squid entree oh my god!( Thai terrace don't change a thing about this. It's perfect ) mains at our table were the coconut fish, the BBQ chicken and the red chicken curry, and all were gorgeous! Great food, great service and happy happy tummys!!! Thankyou for changing to be fabulous.

Fantastic Experience 10/10. I came up from the Gold Coast to Brisbane for a night and dined at this restaurant. I was told the restaurant had just been renovated which looked fantastic to me, I was very impressed with food, prices and service. I found there to be quite a variety of choices in food on the menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a fantastic Thai meal.

This place does not meet expectations. The restaurant renovations and staff try to make it lean towards a fine dining style but it appears most of their customers are takeaways. Their priority in service is extremely unbalanced as we saw a lot of orders waiting and tables unserved, yet takeaways customers have been able to get their orders straightaway. That's when the order slips started disappearing. The food is nice though, so if you're hungry I'd strongly recommend you order takeaway. But if you've got half the day to waste, then this place is perfect for you. This place should turn into a takeaway. Our waitress changes halfway in the middle because it seems that one of them doesnt understand English or is just simply incompetent. We waited over 20 minutes for our entree and then a further 40 minutes for our main. This is completely unacceptable. The maitre de was just standing there watching things happen. I don't know about other people but I was hungry as hell and no one had food on their table. We only came to this place because Sings was full. It felt a bit funny why this place was empty, but after my experience, I had no more wonders. I was also happy that we did not order dessert. Extremely poor service, probably the worst I've ever encountered. This place should change their name Thai Takeaway, or Terrible Terrace, as suggested by the title of this review.

0/10. Went here years ago and really enjoyed it. Decided to go back and I did not like it at all, the food has gone way downhill. First of all we were sat outside and forgotten about, it took someone at least half an hour to come and take our order. When our meals finally arrived I got a chicken coconut curry which was watery and really lacked flavour. My friend got the pad Thai which was quite dry and again lacked flavour. Overpriced and not good, won't be going back.

We went here using a Scoopon deal. The staff were extremely attentive, refilling our water glasses and enquiring about our meals. I ordered the Choo Chee Curry which was delicious but rather a small portion for $24.50. I'm used to curry being served in a bowl with lots of sauce but they were clearly going for presentation as it looked fabulous plated up but not really suited to a curry. Hubby had Lab Pla (fish with a variety of flavourings). He really enjoyed it. Lots of complex flvoyrs. I would recommend this place to eat as the food is great and wonderful service but like so many Brisbane restaurants, it's overpriced. I'm glad we had a voucher.

Horrible Australian Thai food.

My partner and I went there after buying a Scoopon with movie tickets! And it was a wonderful experience! The yellow curry was to die for and the garlic pork was delicious! We had curry puffs and spring rolls for an entre so by the end we were fit to burst! I can't wait to return! U have won a customer here!

Friday 12 January 2012.. Very disappointing experience. After ordering, we waited 30 mins for the starter and then a further 40 minutes for our main meals. The duck was dry, pre-cooked and had a commercial sauce flavour. Other diners were also complaining of long delays. I will not come back here.

Overpriced and terrible!. Ordered fish cakes and Fried Calamari. Fish cakes were rubbery and tasted like something you would get from the frozen food aisle in the supermarket. We ordered the vegetarian pad thai and seafood panang for main course. Pad thai once again tasted like it was made with a pre-bought sauce. The seafood panang had little seafood in it. The seafood was also quite chewy and unpleasant. Would not recommend this place at all!

Poor customer service. Came here with friends for a dinner to celebrate graduation. The maitre de was extremely rude to us all when he found out we had a Scoopon booking. He ended up saying our booking wasn't valid, and turned us away (lost over $120 of purchased Scoopons) saying they didn't have the staff to handle us dining there...despite being haveing 80% of their tables free and then accepting later diners arriving. Don't go here, terrible customer service and my mother is still very upset about how she was treated by the staff.

Great service and even better food. My partner and I went there after buying a scoopon voucher including movie tickets.
We had the Currypuffs and Spring Rolls as entrees ( 4 each...more than enough and really tasty) and Coconut Fish and Garlic Seafood as Mains. The staff was very helpfull and didn't try to upsell. It was really relaxing not to be bothered to buy more.
The coconut rice was amazing. Maybe the best I've ever tried.
Even though we were really full we had to try dessert. I got a black pudding which was not on the menu and my partner a green pudding ( it looked really strange but tasted great!).

We rolled out of the restaurant, because we were so full and happy. :)
Will definitely come back.

Excellent meal and service. We dined here recently in a group of 6, with 3 Scoopon Vouchers. After booking online early in the week, I called the restaurant on the day of our booking to let them know that their 3x2 bookings was actually group of 6 and they made sure our table was arranged accordingly. We arrived at 7.30 and they confirmed our movie was at 8.45 so that would be no problem.

We were politely shown to our table, provided water and our drinks order taken while we checked out the menu. Drinks arrived promptly, as did the 6 generous serves of entree - samosas and delicious spring rolls. When ordering our mains I was advised that my selection would take at least 20 mins and although we had plenty of time, I chose an alternative so everyone else didn't have to wait. Mains were served in around 10-15 mins after entrees were cleared and everyone was quite pleased with their selections.
Even though we were using vouchers, there was absolutly no compromise on our meals- the serves were huge (esp Pineapple Fried Rice which looked and sounded delicious), my lab pla was a nice change to the lab gai, 'hot beef' was spicy and delicious, as was the chicken stirfry and we had a generous vessel of steamed rice to share across the table.

We were easily finished well before our movie start time, but were not hurried out of the restaurant, even being a Friday night.

Although their prices are at the higher end of most Thai restaurats ($18-25) the quality of the meals definately make it worth it. I was surprised to see that they have had some bad reviews from other diners, particularly with vouchers, but given my experience I would say that perhaps they are one of the few restaurants that take the information on board and do something to correct it. I would definatley recommend this to my friends.

We also had a scoopon so after reading previous review were a little worried in coming here. This was again confirmed that when I presented it upon arrival the waitress yelled it to the kitchen and the voice from the kitchen yelled 'outside'...

So we sat outside but was within the plastic walls and above heater so it was fine and the rest of the experience was great. Both my partner and my dish was beautiful. I would go back again.
Food Glorious Food
The lab pla was nice, the lamb stir fry was rather salty.but there was rice to dilute the saltiness. Will I go back? Not really unless all the other restaurants at Rosalie has closed and there's nothing else to choose from

Tsunami of Failure. Utilized a scoopon in this restaurant. We had booked a table at 7.30pm. Got there at 7.25. As soon as we showed them the scoopon, we were informed that our table was outside the restaurant round the corner at the cineplex entrance. We were not shown to the table, we were shown by gesture where our table was. We waited a good 10 minutes for menus to turn up and a further 10 for the water I requested to show up without the water glasses. And because we were outside and round the corner, we could not get any waiter's attention. At 7.55pm, our orders were finally taken. Entrees quite quickly but they were really bad. The srping rolls tasted like the cheapest frozen stuff you get from the supermarkets. My entree plate was taken away before I finished. I felt I was being rushed which was okay as we had booked the cinema tickets for 8.45pm. Well, was I wrong. Our first main arrived at 8.24pm, 25 minutes after the entrees. Our second main still had not arrive when we finally decided to leave at 8.42pm. We spoke to the maitre de about the lack of service and food. He was rude, totally indifferent and didn't seem to care. He actually used the phrase second class citizen about the scoopons. Do not waste your money! Do not go to this restaurant!

There is nothing good I can say about this place. I booked six hours in advance and was told there were plenty of tables. We got there five mins before our booking and the clown at the door had given our table away (only cause it was busy) i didn't understand that. It was like a seinfeld episode! He gave us some atitude and we left. We've been there before and it wasn't that great and we only went there cause sings was clodes for Xmas break. Personally I wouldn't urinate on the place if it was on fire!

Terrible service and horrible, tasteless food. Extreamly disappointing! Definatly NOT wasting my money again on this dump

Service and atmosphere were ok- busy pre movie crowd so place was buzzing. We ordered a curry and a pork- both meals were loaded up with rice and veg- but precious little meat. Thought we'd been given vegetarian meals!? Left disappointed.

We used a GrabOne voucher which gave us 2 entrees, 2 mains and 2 drinks. The food was super, super fast and tasted delicious.

Lovely atmosphere & a great place to have a quiet meal. You can't go wrong with the Pad Thai here. Thai Terrace is also good for take away which is quickly prepared. Thai Terrace was damaged during the floods in Brisbane. Please patron this establishment to support them when they re-open.
