Great little tea room hidden away in the middle of Brisbane city. The vibe is very retro in the cutest way. We went one weekend for their high tea as that's what they're known for and it was a great experience. There's a nice range of sweet and savoury snacks which were all decent but nothing really stood out. The service was average, a little slow but not terrible. Overall it was a fun experience and I would definitely recommend giving it a go.

If I could rate our experience 0 stars I would. We had a friend’s baby shower at the establishment and we left with a bad taste in our mouths. The manager and supervisor were rude and condescending to myself and the team setting up the back drop. The whole encounter prior to the even was incredibly distasteful and made me uncomfortable during the whole event. Furthermore, they told me that our table will need to be “mindful” of the other table booking in the same room. The table booking that shared the room with us were noisy so I don’t believe they received the same speech from the manager Vicky.
The tea was closer to room temperature when it was served but the house champagne was good. The food was nice but for $45 per person it was definitely not worth it- we calculated that it was around 6 pieces of food (mini sandwiches, tarts, scones) each. When we tried to have the cake cut they told us that we needed to inform them in advance and that they wouldn’t be able to cut it but we can do it ourselves, then proceeded to say that they will charge us $2 pp for us to cut our own cake. ABSURD! This was also at 2:30pm when there were no other customers in house so it was definitely possible to offer such a simple service, especially to a table of 20 who is spending a considerable amount.
When leaving they tried to overcharge us by charging $50pp but their website states the package was $45, in the end they did agree to the website price. When the mother-to-be expressed her disappointment all that was said was “sorry” by a server whilst the supervisor stood there and did not offer any compassion or compensation.
It is safe to say that myself and everyone at the baby shower will not be going back to the Room with Roses ever again.

Room With Roses.
I organised a reservation for 20 at Room With Roses, the communication with the venue back and forth leading up to the day was absolutely fantastic, nothing settles the mind more than when you and the business are on the same page,
Today was the day and I can’t come up with words to describe how pleasant, enjoyable and smooth today went.
The staff were so well mannered and non-intrusive, the food was delicious and plenty, everyone was satisfied and the tea was just right!
I want to personally thank everybody at Room With Roses for their hard work and service today. Return business guaranteed.

Unfortunately I wish I had nice things to say about my experience here. I had my baby shower at this venue which I booked 3-4 months in advance. Leading up to the date I met with Vicky, she seemed lovely and welcoming, I paid my deposit to have 20 ladies here. Kept up my communication with her, she planned my baby shower to be two tables of 10 and I had a space to put my floral arrangements I arranged. I called up again to confirm everything a few days prior to the event she said “we are here to ensure you enjoy your day and are willing to do things your way”. Not once was I ever pushy. Sadly on the day I got a long table of 20 and not much space to put my floral arrangements and Vicky and the other lady that must also be a manager, had brunette hair were so rude and snobby, I mean if that is your personality than why work in hospitality. They were rude to my friends that went to set up before I got there and they were rude to my guest arriving and me ! When I asked them to cut my cake they said it’s $2 per head but they sent the chef home I thought wait staff can cut cakes too. AND they said they could bring me plates and still charge me $2 per head BUT not cut my cake. One of their staff had the audacity to say “just like other cafes and restaurants” and I was so amazed that she really believed that because at other restaurants you don’t charge $2 per head just to bring plates and we cut our own cake right!? As a pregnant lady, they stressed me out and when I went to pay at the end they wanted to charge me extra $5 per head which isn’t what I was originally quoted for and their reason was “our price went up”. However I stood by what I was quoted and told them I know how much left I need to pay according to my quote and I am not paying extra especially after the treatment I have just received. I am trying to not let staff ruin my special day with a terrible memory of how rude they were and focus on how my family and friends turned up for me so that I can still remember by baby shower for my first ever baby with good memories. I have never been to a place where I am treated this badly, I can’t help but to think that maybe they are racist. My many experiences at 5 star places can’t compare to how my guest and I were treated here. I would not recommend. I brought them business and was treated this way is what I can’t seem get a grasp of. Honestly if I could give this rating zero star I would. Leaving bad ratings isn’t something I love to do and I’m sad I felt I needed to do this.

What an underwhelming experience, for high tea on Mothers day eve, this place turned out to be. The place is outdated & faded in such a regal building that is Brisbane Arcade. The high tea was anything but special. The scones were dry,the jam runny & tasted plasticky. The only saving grace were the sandwiches. The young staff were totally overwhelmed. It took about 20 minutes & only after my mother in law asked for it, for us to get some water. There was only one lady, who clearly has worked there for awhile, that was on the ball. Until she asked us about our drinks, which we ordered when we sat down 30 mins prior, that it was chased up & we got it. The tableware was quite lovely but that's about it. This place does not quite meet the vibe of the beautiful & classy arcade that it is situated in.

I went to my friends baby shower and the service and the way she was treated on the day was terrible. There was one waiter that was fine but the others were absolutely useless. They were unable to navigate where to put the food on the table, don’t you do this on a daily basis? We wanted our cake cut to serve but she was being charged extra per head and then we still had to cut our own cake. On what planet is that something that we should be charged for when we are doing our own labour! Overall very disappointed and horrible seeing my friends day ruined when we were meant to be celebrating such a joyous occasion. Would not recommend this place at all.

A great place to catch up with friends. The ambience is awesome and the foods were superb. Staffs were polite and courteous except for the receptionist who hesistantly gave us the table we like to be seated on. But overall, this is highly recommended resto if you happen to go around Brisbane Centeal.🥂👏

I came here on Monday the 11th of July with my beautiful daughter for a high tea for her birthday, the service from the waitress was disgusting and rude, we were just patiently waiting when she said to another staff member, people just need to be patient there is only one of me. i kept smiling an made sure i made the morning special for my daughter but she made us feel so uncomfortable, I absolutely wouldn't recommend this place, spend your money elsewhere.
