I meant to explore Two Dads again but drove past it’s location so changed my mind to explore this cafe.
It was an impressive experience on my last review over two years ago.
I walked in and found that the barista was looking after her baby while she was making coffee orders. She gave me a friendly smile and told me to take a seat and she would take the orders for me.
I ordered the scone and a flat white. Coffee came with nice presentation that earned my appreciation at once. The scone came to the table next. It was cut in half with side dish of ham, which was presented in jelly form. Scone was crispy outside with soften texture and the jam was so perfectly match with the scone.
It was a very satisfied brekkie.
Highly recommended👍👍👍

Got the white coffee blend and avo on toast, absolutely amazing. Location is oddly convenient, lovely staff, cute decorations and vibe. Coffee was so smooth, possibly the best I’ve ever had. Only thing I can possibly nag on is their toast was quite hard it was a bit difficult to eat and my boyfriend had to leave it altogether. All-in-all a lovely place that i will definitely be going back to :)

I caught up with Meatballs And Beef Cheeks over coffee for a long awaited chat. This Cafe is spotlessly clean and wait staff are friendly and helpful. My Cafe Latte is beautifully presented, hot and intense. Just the way I like it! Thank you a Guys!

Penny coffee co is a nice little spot in dutton park. They have really good coffee inspired from melbourne i believe i was told.

The food is amazing as you can tell by the photos. The only negative about my experience at Penny was the waiting times for coffee and food. Other than that i was really pleased with my experience.

During a city break to Brisbane, myself and the other half visited this beautiful set up three times. Yip, it’s THAT good! With him being coeliac a huge fan of pork belly, he was thrilled to see that ‘gf’ noted in the menu. Get it, it tastes great! I went for the hot cakes during one visit, dang they were good. Fluffy as and trump any pancakes hands down. Their own made ice tea is the perfect refreshment in the Brisbane temperatures. Mushrooms, not just good, ruddy great!!! The set up is picturesque and the staff are fab. Hit it up diners, you won’t be disappointed!

Penny Coffee Co is a cafe in Woolloongabba, away from the usual cafe hubs. Pictures of some of its dishes on social media caught our eye, and we headed there late on a drizzly weekend morning. The outside of Penny Coffee Co. It is housed in a standalone building, bucking the recent trend, not at the base of a new apartment tower. A rather striking mural draws attention as the eatery is approached from the pavement.

Quiet Saturday arvo, it was not crowded and was super lovely. Interior deco was super chill, and gave off a relaxing vibe.

Ordered a latte and a half strength cappuccino, the latte was on point with fragrance and smoothness while the cappuccino was just nice with its lightness.

We also ordered the mushroom dish and barramundi fish tacos.

Loved the mixture of mushrooms on lovely bread, the cracked nuts gave the dish that additional crunch. It was a lovely dish overall and I would recommend it to any mushroom lover.

The barramundi fish tacos were great too, it had good flavour and textures. Only obstacle was that it could get really messy, so prepare some tissues!

Overall a really lovely place to go to, with fantastic service from the staff.

I’ve made a few trips to Penny, some just for coffee (takeaway and sit down) and a few with food. Across the board, Penny is outstanding in terms of Brisbane’s cafe scene.

The baristas are exceptionally skilled, and there is a selection of roasts to choose from. While I normally like my coffee black, something that isn’t too hard to make, I’ve had a few flat whites from Penny which have been excellent. A friend of mine asked if they’re able to pull a piccolo using soy milk, without the milk splitting. Despite indicating that the barista don’t need to try if they haven’t made one before, they produced one (after two failed attempts) by slowly adjusting the extraction to the point where they could add a shot to soy milk without producing soy cheese. Doing this despite explicitly not needing to is the sort of above and beyond that earns long-term customers.

The food is similarly stellar. The avo on sourdough may at first blush seem like a pricier version of what everyone else is doing. The flavours in Penny’s version are, however, inventive and balanced to a point I haven’t had elsewhere. There’s a nice balance between the feta, dukkah and pomegranate where you can taste all of them without one overpowering the other.

The vegetabowl is similarly great. There’s just enough of each ingredient that you can taste them, without the dish being overpowered by one note.

Penny’s interior makes maximal use of the space. There are comfortably sized tables out front and inside, and some bar seating by the espresso machine. The best seats in the house, though, are out back, and include a few longer tables.

The staff at Penny are attentive, friendly and great at pulling a coffee and making food.

Five stars for this new gem sitting almost on our doorstep. Couldn't fault the food or the coffee. The corn & coriander fritters were hands down just wow! Everything married into together like a dream on the plate. Harissa with lime aioli & that black bean salsa just beautiful. Avocado also perfectly plated on sourdough with spiced chickpea, pomegranate salsa, dukkah & sumac. Coffee blew me away, that flavor & aroma perfectly presented just amazing thank you

Went here after night shifts as a reward for some rough shifts! Thankfully it's right around the corner from work. Parking is terrible since it's on Annerley road, maybe 2 parks in the front and a rabbit Warren of street parking nearby.

It's a brightly lit, little cafe with a nice seating area. Each and every table has fresh flowers which I like.

I went with Will and he had already been here. He got what I ordered the miso scrambled eggs with herb salad and salt baked salmon. The miso scrambled eggs were amazing!!! Wonderful creamy texture with a great umami saltiness from the miso, the complexity of flavour is definitely a winner for me! I am gonna have to pinch a recipe and start making this one at home. The salt baked salmon with super flakey with good flavour. I didn't particularly enjoy the herb salad and just ignored it for the most part.

Will got the mushroom stack, it had big slabs of haloumi as well as a cracking pumpkin puree. I had a bit of the mushroom and didn't really like the sour taste of it, I prefer my mushrooms super buttery and garlicky but Will seemed happy.

Will got a fancy pot of tea that was an ol 3 cupper while I got a soy cold brew. Despite the soy globules, it was a great brew, super smooth and strong!

All in all, a nice little place for brekkie with great drinks, decor and inventive food. Looks like the menus already changed since the time I went and the time I made this review so enjoy their new menu!

I had the Japanese pancake as they were out of shushuka. Turned out to be tasty & something different for breakfast so was happy with that. Coffee was good nicely presented good strength. Downside was the long interval between coffee & breakfast dishes

I love this cafe! I am rarely on this side of town but whenever I'm visiting mates in Annerley, I have to go to Penny's. The owners are really awesome, the food is great and the coffee is definitely one of the best in Brisbane. I'd go almost every day if I lived closer. I cannot recommend them enough!

One of the best local cafes in Brisbane. The offer high-quality speciality coffee for competitive prices. The only negative aspect is that their breakfast menu is limited and does not meet everyone taste

We enjoyed the experience and food here at Penny Coffee co. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were the best pancakes I've ever had. We were told that it'll take 20 minutes for it and it was worth the wait. The poached pear was warm, nice and sweet, and the pancakes were light, fluffy and not too sweet. The perfect combination! We also had the Shakshuka which was good and goes well with this cold weather. Coffee was awesome and service was great 👍. Definitely recommend this place! 💜💜💜

We tried the filter coffee (V60) and milk-based coffee (Latte) both were great. Also, we tried the Hotcake. It is nice and great but it took so long to prepare, the size portion was quite small compared to the price of $23 though. The staff are overall nice and friendly. The only issue is the parking is hard to find around the place.

Love coming to Penny! The staff are great and welcoming, the coffee is amazing and food is delicious. I love that they let us stay and work with our laptops without any pressure to leave, it's a really chill and pleasant place to brunch.

Coffee and café just off the upgraded Annerley Road bike way. Very handy access for bike riders. Option of seating out front, indoors or in the back yard terrace. Friendly and efficient service, good coffee and great muffins, in fact everything in the pastry display looked delicious. Definitely a good option for riders.
