Always attend fortnightly with my daughters, a daddy daughter date. Always have a steak and it's always cooked to my liking, med, every time. Quick with the meals and a good menu choice. Monthly drink specials. Staff are very friendly.

Staff were very friendly but food was bit of a let down. Got a parmy and the french schnitzel. Tasted very cheap and lowkey seemed like they bought everything from the Coles frozen section. Mushroom sauce tasted like gravy with a couple of piddly bits of mushrooms in it, bit confusing, thought they gave us the wrong sauce. Also the bacon bits on both the garlic bread and schnitzel were burnt. Hollandaise sauce didn’t come on it to begin with and when it came back there was way too much, was a bit sickly. X

Great place for a meal. Lunch and Dinner Menu available. Keno, TAB and pokies if you wish to have a flutter. Reasonably priced and friendly helpful staff. All amenities and wheelchair accessible. Cater for all ages.

I went to Aspley Tavern with my wife and son on February 5th. I had the calamari and a veggie burger, my son had chicken wings followed by a mushroom garlic pasta fish, and my wife had garlic bread followed by a risotto.
Mine was fine, but the calamari portion was really stingy. I’ve never seen so small a portion. My son’s was enjoyable and the wings were plentiful and tasty. My wife’s garlic bread was good, too, and filling.
However, I had to put in a complaint to the young waitress about the risotto. Risotto is supposed to be rich in texture and taste. I’ve eaten many in my life and cooked as many as that. This was nothing of a sort and had the texture of a watery gruel. In Taiwan, where I spent 20 years, they have a really great gruel called congee, which can be thick and delicious done right. This was nothing and resembled something that was made from leftovers. It had no consistency and no taste. In a restaurant, that shouldn’t be happening. I’m sorry, but no. That’s not acceptable for over twenty bucks.
My wife asked me not to complain in person, but I had to. I heard nothing of it after politely informing a young lady of my concerns. no follow up. Therefore no return customer.
That was a deflating experience. We’d wanted to visit Aspley Tavern since I arrived in Australia six months ago. I don’t think we will go again.

I ordered the karaage chicken burger and the chicken tasted watery and under cooked and the fries were cold! I ate two bites of the burger and left the rest and left most of the fries too. We won’t be returning, would not recommend.

Had the chilli and lime chicken salad GFO today and was let down for the first time. The chicken was lovely but the salad had way too much lime juice on it and I’m guessing there must’ve been gluten in the yoghurt as this was missing but would have made all the difference. Maybe on future menus on items that have a GFO there could be a line under it to say how it changes the meal 😀

My second visit to this establishment, once again I'm beyond satisfied by the quality of the food and service provided. The lunch rump was cooked to perfection, washed down with an icy cold pot of beer, which was included with the lunch special!<br/><br/>Being such a family friendly environment, I will definitely be bringing the rest of the family back to try some of the other options on the menu.

Went there Friday lunch time meals were great steak cooked to perfection .but desert stick date pudding was cold , yuk id had it before and it was perfect not this time and we had friends from England with us :(

Lovely Newley renovated establishment with an upmarket Pub menu. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. My steak was cooked to perfection! Friendly staff and prompt service. Will definitely be back!

This place is exactly what it pretends to be. <br/>I like to read the reviews on zomato and google before I try a place with a group, although I may not form any lingering opinion from those reviews, other than to add to my local knowledge base. I read the only 2 reviews for this venue and admittedly had no high expectations as I had been there years ago. (Pre-reno's and management change)<br/>Now, I'm acutely aware we don't all exist in a consistent realm of "having a good day" but each of us will have to accept the reality that our current mood may effect our experiences.<br/>I was more than pleasantly uplifted as we walked into a modern yet 'local' atmosphere. Yep, saw the couple of obligatory resident non- descripts... meh? ! Show me a pub in Aus... nay the globe, which doesn't. As for atmosphere, when I go to this style of establishment, it's to chill, maybe talk a little loud and enjoy a good time with a few friends. We certainly achieved that. Much to the cheeky delight of the attentive staff.<br/>Our service, meals and bill were just fine. Actually, possibly on the plus side of really enjoyable. It's the little things, the Szechuan pepper for extra flavor release in the calamari [drools remembering the lime aioli], the freshness of the oysters, the steak on the bone cooked to perfection (not easy, I've tried).<br/>Well done to you, see you all again very soon. This place is awesome!! Been here four times this month and it never disappoints. Always quick, friendly service and the food is a good amount and tastes amazing. <br/><br/>Very happy, you'll be seeing me for a fifth time this month :P
