Review The Dale Espresso - Brisbane

I tried out the perfect pancakes that are light, fluffy and totally delicious especially when there’s a plenty of maple 🍁 syrup. These pancakes are just right. Topped with bananas 🍌 and 🍫 , they are impossible to resist. They gave us extra ice cream too. The vanilla ice cream that comes with the pancakes are to die for. It is so heavenly: a robust vanilla flavour and refreshing. However, the chai latte could be improved. I hope the chai latte comes with a tea full of flavor and spice

Very attentive & pleasant service. The flat white I ordered was in a medium size cup & came with two shots standard. I received a perfectly presented coffee & loved the flavour of the brew. There is seating outside, but inside just a few tables in a small area. Also very pet friendly, pooches rock up to the window for their puppachinos!!

Amazing choc banana superfood smoothie that’s actually clean 💚 I only came for coffee (which was amazing too!) but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try it and sooo glad I did. The gentleman who served me was very friendly and keen to tell me about what they have. It was my first time here and I think it’s my new favourite local coffee shop!! I will definitely be back! ☺️👌🏼

Great food for brunch. Have tried quite a few drinks, dishes and pastries so far and all have been amazing. Staff are also super friendly.

Cute cafe, good coffee and lovely service. Tried the: * Vegan breakky burger - the patty was a bit dry but overall nice flavours and textures * Chilli scramble - got a kick to it but flavoursome Donuts are also enjoyable too!

$5 something for medium coffee and $18 for the cooked scramble eggs. Scramble eggs were different, coffee was excellent

We were hangry, and hangry we are no more. The burgers hit the spot, coffee was lovely, and dairy free smoothies in adorable little tub cups. Coconut chili sauce jam/chutney thing was bomb. Had to takeaway the pistachio almond croissant (WHICH WERE DELICIOUS) and mixed berry jam donut. Helpful and friendly service with a smile, thanks for the lovely brunch! Be back soon.

Great coffee, delicious food and warm family hospitality from the team here. I’ve now tried both breakfast and lunch here and it’s now one of my regular Saturday brunch spots. Thank you for being the place I’ve been looking for in Southside for brunch and decent coffee!

Have not been back nearly one year so made a trip to explore.
I am sure that the management has been changed and it is managed by an Asian couple now. Also, coffee bean has changed from the Blue Sky to Simply Bean, which is alright for me since both are my favorite.
Ordered my default brekkie of poached eggs with roasts and additional smoked salmon. It seems a bit hard for them to prepare the poached eggs for me, which took longer than normal. Having said that the dish was not bad at all and surprisingly I ate them all including the four slices of toasts. Needless to say, the flat white matched my palate too.
It made my day.
Rating: 4.5/5
Previous rating: Aug 2019 4/5

Bad service & attitude. Changed management. Would not go back again.

The Dale has changed management since we last visited. The coffee is now Simply Beans & is made quite well, we had double shots. Simply Beans has it's roots in Logan & is a great blend. My breakfast order was the corn fritters which were a tad dry. They were served with small slices of avocado an egg & spinach. My friend had the Dale omelet which was also on the dry side & lacked flavor.

We had high expectations given the rating is pretty good here, but we were disappointed. I ordered corn fritters but they delivered something more like corn pancakes, and quite floury too... coffee a major let down too

Based on the rating I found when I searched local cafes in Underwood, I was hopeful.

The coffee was okay, a little too mild for my liking, even a bit underextracted and the milk could have been steamed better.

The brekky burger was pretty good! Eggs were just slightly runny and the bun slightly warmed, buttered and held together yet yielded quickly in the mouth.

The breakfast bruschetta was hmmm. The tomatoes weren't ripe, the rocket and balsamic featured too strongly and the dish didn't hang together well for me.

Tucked away in an assuming suburban shopping strip, The Dale offered one of the best breakfasts and coffee we’ve had in Logan so far. The down side was the service, which I think was mostly yo inexperienced staff. We had quite a long wait, although it certainly wasn’t busy when we arrived, with our coffee alone taking 20mins to arrive. We we had to ask for table water and cutlery.

The food was delicious though and we will certainly give them another try.

Went for breakfast during the week. Such a busy little coffee shop.. Could tell why as coffee was delicious. The was only 2 other tables eating when we arrived.. Large menu to choose from. It took almost 30 mins for our breakfast to arrive. Serving are huge! Unfortunately for myself and husband whilst the food was fresh and presented well it wasn't overly enjoyable. My husband had the banana and bacon Dish but the sweet glaze had a burnt flavour. I had the vege breakfast it just was missing something to bring it together. Everyone who worked there was lovely:)

Around a week ago, I had the pleasure of joining Mr and Mrs. Tomcat for brunch. Situated in a small complex is a family owned business, named The Dale Espresso Bar & Cafe. The establishment is furnished with clean wooden tables and comfy chairs with cushions. There is a vast selection of foods on offer including your good old Breakfast staples, Sandwiches, Sweets, Breads and Salads. For beverages, there were Smoothies, Milkshakes, Coffees, and Teas available. We met up on a Thursday morning settling with the following order: Mocha coffee, Lemon&Ginger Tea, Piccolo, Eggs Benedict, Veggie Breaky and an Eggs Supreme.

Coffee&Tea - The coffees didn't take long to arrive (PNG single origin blend by Simply Beans). Starting off with my Mocha, unfortunately, did not consist an adequate balance of chocolate and coffee. Overall, tasted like a hot chocolate more so than a caffeinated beverage. Presented next was the piccolo, which I have no feedback for as I didn't get a taste. However, I do remember the coffee giving out a beautiful aroma (Mr. Tomcat finished every drop in that little cup, assuming it must have been good!). Last on our beverage list was the lemon&ginger tea. The loose leaf tea contained a wonderful soothing scent, very fragrant with nice equal flavors of both lemongrass and ginger.

Food - The Eggs Benedict was served first with, Turkish bread, Smoked Ham, Poached Eggs and Hollandaise sauce. The Turkish bread was well-toasted layered with a generous amount of smoked ham that consisted nice meaty flavors. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked exposing a runny yolk when cut into. Finished off was the creamy hollandaise sauce.

The second dish on the table was the Veggie Breaky consisting, sourdough toast, home-made beans, mushrooms, spinach, halloumi cheese and poached eggs. The beans were soft and flavourful (by far my favorite beans!). Halloumi cheese had a nice chewy texture. Accompanied with perfectly cooked toast, poached eggs, mushrooms, and spinach.

Finally, the Egg Supreme: Toasted Turkish Bread, Baby Spinach, Butcher's Smoked Bacon, Poached Eggs, Avocado and Hollandaise Sauce. Again, everything was delightful, with the added fan-like ripe avocado and the crispy bacon I can tell you, my palate was having a pretty good time! 😌

All in all, customer service was great. Staff were welcoming and were always smiling. Thank you so much, Kate, for your awesome service! 🙌🏻

Good Stuff: Keep an eye out for their lunch and breakfast specials! Their coffees and teas are a must try!! Parking in the complex and street parking is available.

The Dale is a family owned and operated cafe hidden away in Rochedale South. The simple and elegantly designed establishment houses a small indoor dining and alfresco area. A good selection of bread, pastries and sweets was available in the display fridge with a well laid out breakfast and light meal offering. We were there for weekday brunch with a fellow foodie and ordered: hot drinks, eggs benedict, eggs supreme and the vegie brekkie.

The hot drinks arrived first and consists a piccolo, mocha and lemon & ginger tea. The coffee beans used here is a PNG single origin blend from Simply Beans. As a piccolo, sweet malt and nuttiness flavours were present. As a mocha, the chocolate was on the overpowering side but enjoyable none the less. The lemon & ginger tea was the star of the drink selection with fragrant and fresh ginger scent with a well balanced lemongrass flavour. Mrs Tomcat reckons its the best ginger based tea she has ever had and I agree. Overall for hot drinks, it's confident 4/5

Mrs Tomcat's egg benedict arrived first with smoked ham and two poached egg all on top of soft Turkish bread drizzled with hollandaise sauce. Poached eggs was cooked to perfection and presents an appetising runny yolk. The ham was flavorful with big bold smoky taste. Paired with the soft Turkish bread and well seasoned hollandaise sauce you have a dish surely to please. 4/5

The egg supreme was up next with all the egg benedict ingredients (minus the ham) plus baby spinach, smoked bacon and avocado. The bacon was cooked crispy with big smoky flavours. The addition of avocado made this dish a rich and flavourful one. As an overall package its a solid 4/5.

Vegie brekkie made a late entry with grilled halloumi, poached eggs, house made baked beans, mushroom and baby spinach with slices of sourdough. The baked beans were soft and mushy with tastes of mixed spice. Paired with the perfectly grilled halloumi, soft & runny poached eggs and freshly made sourdough, my palate was taken to a happy place. I am not a big veggie bekkie lover but this dish has changed my mind. Bravo! 4.5/5

Overall service was very friendly and attentive. The manageress Kate showed true passion and knowledge towards menu items and sourcing organic goods locally. It is great to see local small business supporting local produce. Keep up the good work! 5/5

Hint: Their vegie brekkie and egg supreme comes highly recommended. The coffees are great but their organic tea selection is outstanding.

Very tasty and a wide selection of breakfasts and lunches. Super friendly staff. Very nice coffee. Do try this when you're in the neighbourhood. Easy parking.

The Dale is my cafe away from my own cafe. On the rare day off it is the only place in Logan that I head for delicious coffee and tasty food!

I've been a few times and the coffee is so inconsistent. Small place too - not much space. The food is ok. I've had to wait a long time to even be acknowledged a few times & considering the size of the place that seems hard to do.

1st and last visit. Ran out of bagels and turkish bread, service was slack, meals came out staggered over 10-15mins, had to ask for cutlery and salt and pepper after 5 mins, coffee order was wrong, but hay may have been an off day.

Terrible lunch. I unfortunately had a terrible experience here, after reading so many good reviews I thought I would try it out so today I ordered a chicken caesar toasted roll. Firstly the roll was burnt, the bacon was mainly fat and the one tenderloin that was in my roll was cold, it had hardly any dressing wasn't seasoned it was awful. I also ordered aside of chips for my daughter and they weren't seasoned and tasted like fish. It wasn't all bad the lady who served my was nice. Would I go there again ? NO

We have recently moved into the area from inner city Brisbane and have been looking for a new local breakfast spot with fresh ingredients, beautiful dishes and friendly service and were delighted to find The Dale this morning in this small unassuming group of shops. Delicious, efficient, friendly and reasonably priced. Tick, tick, tick, tick! We will be back!

Gratitude. Thank you to all who have provided feedback about our little cafe. We appreciate and value your comments. Although there may be times where someone may not have had the positive experience they wanted, and for that we sincerely apologise, we do, however, try our very best to ensure our customers are happy. It is our aim to ensure we provide good service,well-made coffee and locally sourced products for our meals. As the majority of our food is cooked and made on site, there are sometimes little inconsistencies that we do not foresee. Please come in and have a chat and let us know, as feedback should be given to ensure we remain aware and on top of our game.
Much research has been done to ensure our pricing is consistent with today's standards, bearing in mind that we don't use cheap, mass produced products and our coffee is organic, single-origin (not a blend) and ethically sourced. You will not find many places that have that on offer, unless you travel closer to the city. We are one of a kind. We may not suit everyone's tastes, but that's OK. Life would be pretty boring if we were all the same!

Probably the best coffee in Logan. I tend to travel around a lot but always seem to find my way back to The Dale when I feel like a coffee or it it is time for lunch. Fantastic coffee at great prices, really friendly staff, top-notch meals made fresh and to order and a cabinet full of sweet tempters...there is not much not to like. I always make time for The Dale if I can.

Best start to the day. I absolutely love this place. I have never had a bad coffe nor have I ever had a meal that I have not enjoyed. I have tried everything there is on the menu and I have loved it all. My favourite part of my day is picking up my coffee and a freshly made date scone. The staff are great and make a point of knowing their regular customers coffee orders. Nothing is ever to much trouble. This is definitely my first port of call for coffee and great food no matter what time of the day it is. Highly recommend.

-----18 Sep, 2014-----

Highly recommended. The dale is now my local coffee hang on. Food is always great and I have never eaten a bad meal from there. Service is always A1 and the staff are always friendly and have always welcomed us with a friendly good morning and a smile. I highly recommend this place, and yeah sometimes you might have to wait that extra 5 mins... But that's because they r always busy and I don't mind waiting. Busy means good food, good coffee and great staff. Keep up the great work guys, u do an amazing job.

Ok Fathers Day breakfast. We decided to go to The Dale for a fathers day breakfast as a treat. We like The Dale as they do good coffee and the breakfast has always been good even the specials. However, this morning I ordered the Canadian Bacon breakfast special and I was disappointed. For $10.50 I got 1.5 bits of bacon and two of the smallest waffles I have ever seen. I left feeling sick cause the coffee came first and then waited about 25mins for the breakfast to arrived. So I had a coffee on an empty stomach and then go one of the smallest breakfast I have ever had. I am also not overly happy about paying a $1.50 for a babycino but since we there for breakfast I could not say no to my kids who usually have one at Gloria Jeans when I get my coffee. Gloria Jeans actually provide them for free when I buy a coffee. If their babycino was 50c then I would take them there but happy to drive further down the road to save $3.00.

In future I will checking the size of the meal before ordering.

Awesome!. Great service and coffee. Love that we can call in a takeaway and pick it up 5 min later! Never been let down when we've dined in either. Highly recommended.

Great coffee and the kids were happy too. Great coffee and french toast for us parents and the kids loved the butcher-cured bacon, fresh eggs and fruit smoothies... I can see why The Dale has such a loyal following.

The Best. We love The Dale. It has become our local school Mum hang out as well as I drop in with the kids and hubby or met my Mum there. Kate, Cathy and the staff are fabulous, the food is yummy (and all made there) and the coffee is great. I hope they keep going from strength to strength!!

Great little hideaway. I found this place by accident and it is a treasure. Even though we live on the northside we find it worth the drive for the breakfast and coffee

This little café is going strong! Recently had their new Chai of the Tiger latte and absolutely LOVED it.

The food is still spectacular, creative and sinful.

Good luck and keep it up!

Blown away. I love coffee (and cafe food) and didn't know what the expect when I ate here. I was blown away with the food, coffee, service and the prices (so cheap!).

In a world of mediocre coffee and unsatisfactory food, this place stands out. I love their breakfast and lunch menu and only wish they were open for Dinner.
Sarah
Love this place! Was so excited to find something good nearby, the husband and wife who own are very welcoming - we spoke to them on our last visit and they've really put a lot of thought into the quality, everything is homemade. Will keep going as our number one coffee.
Corza_21
My prayers have been answered! Finally a quality coffee shop on the south side! Have been there almost every week for the past month and have not been disappointed once.

The staff take the time to ask how you want your eggs done and what bread you want. The menu spoils you for choice and everything tastes fresh.

Now for the coffee.. It's like being transported to Melbourne. The coffee here rivals some of the high profile coffee shops around town but isn't full of pretentious snobs.
Lauren Taddeo
I love The Dale. Rochedale has been waiting for this! Large, reasonably priced menu for breakfast and cute decor. The only issue is lack of seating occasionally because its so busy!
Peter
Great place for Brekky . Had the French toast salmon and hollandaise and a vego omelette. The meals were generous both in portion and flavour. The coffee is quality, the staff attentive without being intrusive , and the whole experience pleasing. Can't wait to explore more of the menu .
Michele
This is a fantastic cafe, awesome food and coffee with excellent friendly service. Everything is baked fresh and delicious ..... Definitely the best cafe in the southern suburbs !!!

I drive all the way from the city just to have a pie & strawberry fougasse!! Fantastic food. Fantastic coffee. Fantastic staff!!
Deanne Ennis
Best coffee and food ive had out in a long time!. I ate there this morning, I ordered eggs benedict with smoked salmon and my husband ordered the mexican breakfast...the food was amazing, they also offer alot of other meals which i cant wait to try out, they also make cakes, toasted sandwiches and wraps. I also had one of the best coffees I have ever been made in a coffee shop, the customer service is also fantastic.....I am truly one happy customer 5 stars all the way :-)
Renee
Fabulous Food and Coffee. As a minor league coffee drinker I have discovered my new favourite coffee shop. I ordered a cuppacino and was blown away. It was brewed and drawn perfectly. Usually I would have to add sugar to my cup but in this instance it was not needed as the milk foam and sprinkle of chocolate on top was the right blend with the coffee below.

The food.... oh my god, the food.... It is gorgeous. It looks great and I can tell you, it taste great too! A dieters nightmare!

New shop so they can only get better as they go.
Jess
Mmmmm coffee... What a lovely little cafe!! great staff who have a genuine passion for coffee and are very proud to share information on the single origin estate bean that is being used, which is organically grown and locally roasted by a Master Roaster. Love the passion and hope I am not the only one who appreciates ethical standards and supporting the locals. Beautiful cafe and well needed in the area. Well done The Dale.
