Fish Blob
Calm brunch cafe and busy dinner and bar location. We loved, both the savoury babaganoush toast and the sweet fruit salad cinnamon toast we had.

What seems like a petite store front on the bend of Petrie Terrace opens up in to a welcoming bar and dining area. It was a genuinely relaxing experience to sit down and have the breeze brush over me as I had a well balanced and thought out meal.
Big vibes at this little restaurant up on the hill.

Went in for parmy night to meet a friend. I'd heard about Jessie's Girl and thought it looked super cool from the outside, and they seem to come by their good reputation honestly - the staff were super lovely and helpful, and everything about the place just seemed really well-considered and cool. The parmy was amazing too, one of the best I've had. Only negative was that it wasn't the most filling, seeing as the chicken breast was moderately sized and the only side was a light salad. It was an interesting twist on a classic, and what was there was phenomenal, but it would have been better with a source of carbs or something more filling on the plate included in the price...it doesn't feel like you're getting a special deal if you're still a bit hungry after the meal, but it was still really nice.

I had my 30th at Jessie's Girl last night and I have to say the venue and hospitality from Suse and her team couldn't have been more perfect! Such a fun, roomy and relaxed atmosphere, amazing food and cocktails, and very reasonably priced. Suse is so relaxed, flexible and pays so much attention to detail. Everyone commented on how good this place was. Jessie's Girl is a must for your next party venue!

Really lovely staff and a local neighbourly feel. Great food and drink deals here all week round, Sundays are always good too.

Great coffee and a pretty reasonable price (considering part of city). Have vegan options and staff are friendly and helpful!

Another weekend calls for another brunch. This time we went to Jessie's Girl, which had been on Adam's list of places to try for a while. Situated up on Petrie Terrace, we opted to take a quick bus ride up rather than walking from the CBD. . With inside and outside seating, we opted for inside but at a window so we could still watch the cute puppies that walked by during our meal. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic which was great.

Another good addition to Petrie terrace - Very cool venue.

The coffee was solid, the food was very good and the service was great.

Definitely a spot worth checking out for some good brekky.

Lately something’s changed that ain’t hard to define...there’s finally decent morning coffee options near the Barracks. Add to that some takeaway brekkie items for the famished bridal party on their big day & frankly it was all pretty life saving. Bridezilla ironically declares JG ‘very hipster’ while happily sipping her macadamia milk decaf cappuccino & scoffing pretty potato scallops. I reckon the dine-in menu, drinks & grab&go food has broad appeal. Petrie Terrace traffic & stoic Victoria Barracks outlook gives a unique quality here. Jessie could be a good friend of mine.

Enjoy that song in your head.

Driving down Petrie Terrace last week I noticed this cafe had a new name since my last visit so decided to try it out for breakfast. Coffee came out pretty fast & was good although could have been stronger for my taste. The simplicity of my turkish sandwich with a crispy battered zuchini topped with an egg turned out to be the star turn. The flavors they managed to pack into it was a big wow from me

Delicious drinks but average food :( I sooo wanted to give this place 5 stars. I was really excited to check it out! Love the idea, love the concept, love the space. Staff were fantastic. Was recommended a spritzer which was just beautiful and not too sweet. My mum and I then ordered a couple of dishes to share (an antipasto plate and some croquettes) and left really disappointed. The antipasto platter was so over priced for what we got, it was tiny, with hardly any bread and none of the items were overly impressive (I feel like I have better quality stuff in my fridge at home?) And the croquettes were dry and bland tasting and really needed some sort of condiment. I will definitely come back for some drinks but I’d go elsewhere for food.
