Review Bollywood Ishtyle - Brisbane

One of my first experiences with Indian food at it was delicious! Tasty curries, all the meats were cooked well, surprisingly filling. We had the butter chicken, mango chicken (didn't really taste much mango), Beef Vindaloo, Lamb Rogan Josh and the spice levels were accurate and the Chicken Lollipops were fantastic! Parking at the back of the restaurant was easy even on a weekend. They even gave us free dessert 👌. The staff were very accommodative.

We had a wonderful meal at Bollywood Ishtyle with my family. The customer service was superb, turning the music back on, turn the air con down, extra rice, nothing was too much effort. The food was incredibly tasty with real complexity to the flavour. We got to learn how the family got to take over the restaurant just over ten months ago. The chefs have worked in South India and China and bring their experiece to the menu. It was incredibly good value for money and we will definitely be back.

Absolutely love this place. I've tried a huge variety of veggie and chicken curries and they have all been delicious. Their naan breads are beautiful. The staff are so friendly and they do their own deliveries. Would highly recommend them.

This place is legit. Dining in, the ambiance is a little quiet but you can BYO and the service is great. Best curries in Brisbane, hands down. Highly recommend the vegetarian samosas.

Our adult family went for Indian at Bollywood Ishtyle Restaurant last night. The food was delicious. Dishes had the right amount of sauce and the meat dishes were lean and well cooked. The waitress (Yasmina) did everything possible to make sure we enjoyed our night. She was friendly and efficient. Was very reasonably priced for the amount of food we had. Will certainly go back. Highly recommend.

This food is AMAZING. I grew up eating Indian food, working in an Indian restaurant, and I’ve made it my mission to eat at Indian restaurants around the world (including India!) and this restaurant is easily in my global top 5! We went on Saturday night as a group and ordered a number of mains, and enjoyed it so much that two of us ordered some more on UberEats tonight! You cannot miss the Chicken Kadai, but everything I’ve tried so far has been great. I’m looking forward to eating my way through the menu. The restaurant is clean and quiet, with beautiful Bollywood stars on the walls and music to match! The gorgeous Yasmina was our host the other night and she was just delightful. I’m so glad we moved to the area! Make sure you check out this Indian gem.

Just the best Indian food in Brisbane. Food full of flavours, big portions for a good price. Their staff are very lovely.

Great food! Simple atmosphere and decor, but clean and comfortable for an informal gathering with friends or family. One of the tastiest and most generous places I've visited for Indian food in a long while. Reasonable prices and friendly staff top it off well. I will certainly continue to be a repeat customer!

This place has to be the best kept secret in stones corner. Hands down best Indian in the area.

TL;DR: Bollywood Ishtyle is more or less a stock standard Indian place, that has its place as a fall-back option and is still pretty reliable. Somewhere between a curry house worth going to, and the bare bones Indian takeaway that litters the more outer suburbs, the word to sum it up is "fine" - nothing that makes it stand out, but nothing too legit to really give criticism. It doesn't suck.

Right on the outskirts of the newly improved Stone's Corner, Bollywood Ishtyle brings the needed Indian touch to the dining scene in this area. It was here before everything went better, and while it is not anything that is fantastic, it still manages to provide an adequate bite to eat. Basically, it is fine.

Once and again, where we find ourselves is with an upcoming PPV event on the WWE Network. With this time around, a stipulation I had involved a match at Summerslam for the major belt and whichever champion held onto it afterwards would decide the cuisine for delivery - which meant it came down to either Japanese or Indian. Obviously Indian was the one that won out, and from there it was all onto UberEats to see what options were available for it. Let's just say there is a lot, and even a few new ones here and there are able to be found. Outside of that, it was purely by a bit of choosing at will - in addition, this time my dining buddy/house mate was not willing to partake with the food, so it was all a case of getting it just right. If there is one thing that is possible, it is that.

Therefore, it was the case of just plopping on the couch, plugging the phone order a little later than normal - delivery was quicker this time - and then sit back and wait for the food to arrive. And yes, let's just say the delivery truly was quicker than most other places, being here before I knew it and with just enough time to make some rice in the rice cooker. The mode was efficient, and this time the driver went into the driveway as opposed to the other side of the road; kind of nifty and convenient, also noteworthy of observation. It was all that was really needed in an Uber service and it is beginning the approval streak of delivery yet again.

The menu is in part much of what would be expected from the local Indian takeaway. That is a range of different curry styles - all the usual ones - with both lamb, beef and chicken being the meats of choice, then there was quite the array of vegetarian curries to round it all off. Those said vegetarian curries also have a variety, with paneer cheese, mixed vegetables, potatoes, and dahl in addition to the basic meat curries getting a vegetarian version in there.

As well as those curries, they offer several kinds of chats, quite the array of pakoras to begin a meal, biriyanis, and all the accompaniments to the meal which definitely feature the rice and several styles of naan and roti, before sweetening the deal with some drinks and dessert. While it is far from the most extensive menu out there, the selection is definitely at least a cut above the bain-marie curry houses.

When plugging in the order, to get a feel for how the curries were, it was the usual minimum of two - with lamb vindaloo and palak paneer being the dishes of choice, ordered hot and medium respectfully. It would have been incomplete without some bread on the side to dip, so off it was with some keema naan to do so, and to fully complete it in my books some starters and a drink were gotten. A generous chicken tikka platter was the go, and then it was a lassi to finish the night off in style.

When the food arrived, the good aspects about it were that the portions were pretty generous and spot on, the quality of the ingredients was fairly decent, and overall the food was at a serviceable and satisfying level. What is always a way to start off and Indian meal is noting just how spicy the curries are when they arrive, particularly so when one of them is requested hot. It more often than not will be the case here, as I got the vindaloo requested as a hot, and it did quite a reasonable job. This was not one that was quite requiring reaching for a glass of milk, but it definitely worked up a sweat while eating. While they were not overtly abundant, when found in the sauce the bits of lamb given were quite big and the meat was cooked very well, tender and somewhat juicy. They soaked up the sauce really nicely, plus the palak paneer was just as good as well, with a thick and creamy sauce from all the spinach, and the pieces of cheese were also quite big, a little bit chewy, and ultimately went down lithely. So both of these curries were a-okay, and definitely filling.

Better yet was the tandoori chicken on the side, which were ten tender, juicy and spicy bits of thigh meat. They went down a treat, with meat that was absolutely delicious after being cooked for so long in the tandoor, with a big, thick lot of spice around the flesh. It came with a nice mint sauce, and a few fresh garnishes. Also word goes out to the keema naan, which had a good amount of spicy lamb mince in the middle, and a good flaky texture that pulled apart easily. As per normal, this was good to wipe up remnants of sauce, and pick up big bits of meat to eat. A good Indian meal definitely needs a good naan, and this was the tool for that task.

If there was an item in the meal which might have needed a bit of improvement, then it would have gone to the lassi. The lassi did taste nice, slightly sweet and fruity which I liked, but the texture was a little on the thin side as opposed to the slightly viscous texture often found in them. It is not enough to discount the drink as a whole, since it was still refreshing and tasty, just preferences got to be stated.

Bollywood Ishtyle was perfectly adequate. All of the food was more or less at an acceptable quality, plus it was also the standard kind of Indian that is all around suburbia. All up, the portions were pretty generous with enough for some leftovers, and the spice level definitely was noteworthy. Nothing much about it really stands out, though what is safe to say is that is doesn't suck. While I cannot fathom too many aspects that require the need for improvement, there might need to be tweaking here or there, or something, so that Bollywood Ishtyle is able to stand out within the south side for Indian, and also to accommodate itself into the bar standard which nearby Stone's Corner has manage to have a grip on. Call it a bit convoluted, but with all that in mind, it is really what there is to discuss about here.

Ordered delivery from Bollywood Ishtyle on a Sunday night. It was disappointing. Gravy tasted pretty much like instant mix you get from woolies. Naan was like chewy dough and papadum was stale.

Awesome food. Great value. Lovely staff and great deals with their loyalty card. Often have takeaways from here and will continue to come back.

Great food. Great value. We had a group of 10 for dinner and we enjoyed the entire evening. Service was great too. Recommend it to anyone who enjoys Indian cuisine.

Most incredible Indian food I've had in Brisbane. Everything was perfectly seasoned and very tasty - samosas, chicken tikka, generous serving of raita, paneer pakora. Will be back for sure.

Ordered the butter chicken, it was extremely sweet tasting and lacked flavour. Rice was gluggy and overcooked. Roti was soggy and flavourless. Restaurant was also quite dirty and staff were a little unfriendly. Would not return.

Recently held party there, we were given great service, special attention paid to ensure our function went well! Food was excellent - will be back for sure for more celebrations! Thank you Bollywood restaurant for a wonderful and memorable evening .

Service was great, however my partner and I did not enjoy the food; ordered butter chicken, and vegetable korma which both lacked in flavour. The garlic naan was very different to any naan I've tasted before, had some kind of filling that our tastebuds were not expecting and did not like at all. The rice was good..

Was ok. The bloke below isn't wrong about the odd, sweet taste. Compared to other restaurants in the area, the I feel the quality just isn't there. However the prices are rather good.

After a break I returned to Bollywood Ishtyle to compare with another local Indian Restaurant. My suspicions were confirmed- Butter Chicken was sickly sweet and strange tasting and the naan had consistency of uncooked damper. Worth giving a miss.

Tried this last night, not very happy with it. I ordered delivery and took more than an hour to come. We ordered butter chicken and wasn't that happy with it.

Didnt get the order right-rotis never came. Fast service though. Butter chicken texture and flavour were diluted-not good. Daal masala and paneer tikka were good. Table cleared before finishing meal even though there were no other customers and noone else waiting. Probably won't visit again.

Good honest Indian with fast delivery. My wife and I have been getting delivery food from them for months now. The food is always good, servings generous, well priced and so fast. Excellent restaurant.
