Only place to have an authentic northern Vietnames dishes in Brisbane. Food serving is fast, friendly atmosphere like your home at a cosy place.
Vietnamese restaurants and banh mi places are popping up all over Brisbane - while a lot of them have a Saigon / South Vietnamese vibe, there is a lack of Hanoi / North Vietnamese restaurants in Brisbane (and Australia). With all the Australians visiting Vietnam, there is a gap in the market for bun cha, and other North-Vietnamese delicacies. Little Hanoi attempts to fill this gap.
A cosy restaurant in Holland Park, the owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The bun cha satisfied my Hanoi cravings. The seafood Hanoi-style spring rolls also made me happy. Reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back. More people should know about this place.
Bun cha! Yessss. I’ve been searching for this meal after returning from a trip to Vietnam, it took two years but I finally got my fix.
This tiny little restaurant is a gem, the service is slow but warm and helpful. The food is delicious. It is not quite the bun cha I remember from Hanoi but it is pretty damn close! The little restaurant was packed with other diners also enjoying the same dish. I look forward to returning and seeing if they can also replicate Hanoi pho here, although I live in Vietnam town (Richlands) the local cuisine is more of the Southern Vietnamese variety.
The homemade lemongrass tea was incredibly refreshing too.
I’ll be back soon!
Recently I have been feeling like Vietnamese food a lot. Decided to try this highly rated Vietnamese joint in Holland Park.
Located within the street of shops and cafe with popular Deedot cafe nearby, this place stand strong to provide good meals.
Place is small but comfortable with lovely wall depicting scenary of Vietnam. Welcomed straight away by an attentive staff we chose to seat across the counter.
Browsed through menu, chose seafood spring roll for entree and I chose beef pho (small size) and iced Vietnamese coffee. My partner ordered Special hanoi vermicelli soup and coconut water.
Food arrived very promotly starting with seafood spring roll. It was crunchy and fresh tasting just I expect spring roll to be. Vietnamese iced coffee was strong with generous amount of condenced milk and was a perfect way to chill on hot summer day.
Pho was super duper tasty and belive one of the best pho I had in Brisbane. Broth, noodle, and fresh ingredients. They just made it right. I appreciated the fried bread as an condiments and thouht it was a great addition to pho.
Overall I very much enjoyed this homey and charming Vietnamese joint and definitely appreciated nice touch to differentiate from other competitors. I will sire to come back for more yummy pho as I am already craving for their pho while writing this review! .
Wow! Incredibly flavoursome broth in the pho bo, not to mention the remarkable clarity! $10 for a small jam packed with noodles and beef makes it excellent value. Decor inside is pleasant as was the service. Recommend this suburban gem!
Cute little shop, very clean, quiet, humble staff - serving fresh tasty food. Open on a Monday which is a huge plus. Will be back again for sure
Braved the cold wind to go out for Sunday night dinner with dad. Little Hanoi Cafe was charming and quiet. I was feeling very peckish so ordered 3 entrées!
The Chicken Wing Lollipops was a winner 👌So delicious and very more-ish! I could have wolfed down another plate tbh! I also had the crab spring rolls - they were actually squares so should be called 'parcels'? Well, whatever the shape, it was also yummo. My third nibble plate were sweet potato and prawn fritters with mung beans inside? Soft and sweet inside with a crunchy fried savoury casing.
Dad had the rice paper rolls and 'bun thang'.
I stole a rice paper roll to "taste test". It was fresh but probably too "summer food" for a cold winter night for me. The 'Bun Thang' however hit the spot. The broth was pungent and tasty. The first spoonful was sharp and a bit too strong on the nose but after another couple spoonfuls more, I started to like that it was so flavoursome!
(Yes, I helped myself to a small bowl of noodles because it was a rather large serving and dad really-absolutely-would-not have been able to finish it all by himself! I was doing him a favour 😇 I'm filial and all that jazz after all^^~)
Service was good. Meals came out fast which was a bonus as I was hungry. I shall be back with friends to try different dishes.
Absolutely delicious Vietnamese food. A great twist on authentic street food. We have had the banh mi, phó ga and the vermicelli crackling pork salad. All we very fresh and extremely tasty.
The most authentic Bun Cha I have tried outside of Vietnam, I also tried the spring rolls which were very good. A great meal at a very reasonable price, I will certainly be back.
Lovely little place in my local area. Tasty food and affordable. Lovely service as well. Plus Gluten Free including Spring rolls! They get and extra star for that. Awesome!
Interesting Vietnamese restaurant has a unique menu with northern style dishes, food was good, seating capacity limited, kid friendly and has baby chairs. Good for a quick dinner. On street parking available around corner, it is on a main road so it's easy to miss but definately worth a visit.

It’s a great place, awesome authentic foods for Vietnamese food lovers. The flavours are a bit different from other Vietnamese restaurant because the owner which is also the chef is from the north east side of Vietnam. I personally love coming to this place because of their genuine vegetarian Pho which the broth is cooked purely from veggies and there are not many places cook PHo with pure veggies soups like that. I love the fact that the owner cook the food with her love and passion, no MSG in any thing, no frozen and no preservatives. Fresh foods are one of the reason why I keep coming back. I used to come here quite often just to enjoy the taste of my hometown but can’t go now as I have moved to another city. I miss them a lot that’s why I post my review here with a hope that everyone can at least know and enjoy the foods.
Thank you for the great foods and excellent care from the owner!
Cant have this food anywhere else in Australia !!! (Unless youre keen to make it at home ;).
the staff here are really friendly and hospitable. nice menu with a range of vietnamese dishes at great prices. I went for the vegetarian noodle soup, spring rolls and banh mi. all were delicious. the drip vietnamese iced coffee is wonderful too. would definitely go back again.
Lovely friendly staff and delicious authentic Vietnamese food. The pho is the best I have had in Brisbane and the Bun Cha is delicious. I ordered takeaway pho once not realising they weren't open for business yet they still made it for me. It wasn't til we picked it up that we realised they were closed. Amazing service!
We are never disappointed and they deserve to do well.
Really lovely homely day authentic food, gorgeous family run business. Would recommend eating there (rather than takeaway) as dishes like tumeric fish and pho don’t taste great when there is a delay in eating them!
