Walked in and were greeted with a big smile! You don't get that at many places around here. During our meal, the staff were super friendly and at the same time made us feel like VIPs.
The decor and cosy restaurant size created a modern indian kitchen feel. Overall great vibe for chilling out with friends, or a romantic weeknight dinner for two.
They had a large selection of dishes. We really enjoyed the paneer chilli naan and mango chicken curry. The pakoras and samosas were fresh and crunchy, not overly oily which is good. Portions were perfect.
The chicken dish could have been improved if they used softer meat. It was a little rubbery - but it was not out of ordinary for what you find at other restaurants.
Had a Groupon deal dinner at this newly opened restaurant, which located at the previous spot of the St. James Crabhouse & Kitchen. Ordered tow glasses of Lassi, an vegetarian Samosas to shared and mains of Lamb in Vindaloo and Mango Chicken with a Peshwari Naan. Service is very friendly and hospitable. Samosas came in first with a surprisingly huge size. We love the accompanied sauce, which matches the Samosas perfectly. Next came the mains and the side dishes of Naan and rice. I like the lamb pieces texture but the sauce was too salty and flavour is a bit different from what I had before. Chicken texture is fine but better to serve chicken thigh meat rather than the breast. Sauce is too thin though. Naan seems too oily and partly overdone. Overall dining experience is decent with such friendly vibe. Wish them all the best for the business. Cheers!

Absolutely fantastic food at very reasonable prices considering the quality, and served very quickly. I’d recommend a particular dish, but so far everything I’ve tried has been delicious! Charming atmosphere - very modern, but also very cosy and comfortable. Staff are really attentive and welcoming, and the owner is a remarkable man.

Ash doesn’t disappoint with his premier restaurant. The decor is fascinating and the service exceptional. But what you really want to know about is the food.
The full service India cuisine menu means there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy. You get exactly what you ask for (rather than medium spiced curry which tastes so mild grandma can eat it) and the flavours are complex.
Price-wise the food is standard what you’d expect from a sit-down Indian restaurant in inner city Brisbane. Rice, of course, is complimentary.
You don’t see the usual layer of oil and fat on most Brisbane curries. I suspect that’s because the recipes are close to the traditional Indian ones, rather than too Australianised and unhealthy.
If you are doing takeaway or have leftovers, the true test is the day after. Absolutely delicious is my verdict.
Finally, pay cash and get 5% off is probably the best idea I’ve seen in such a long time. Maintaining EFTPOS is an extreme expense for hospitality and this clever way of encouraging cash means I won’t forget next time I dine.
Had the eggplant and potato curry - extremely tasty. Good garlic naan too. Curry not too oily or heavy. Guy serving seemed run off his feet (as is everybody in these covid times) however quality of meal was not diminished. Will be going back.
We are locals and dine in frequently here. It’s a great restaurant run by lovely people, and the food is fantastic. So many great dishes to try. The wait times can be long but it’s worth it.
Great atmosphere and great food
I ordered some veg pakora they were mouth watering and crispy. In mains I ordered paneer tikka masala and that was one of the best i had in Australia ot had all the flavours i expected in a dish and i would recommend this place if you are in Brisbane must to be visited 😋
All in all 5 star place.
We went as a family of 4 adults. Ordered 4 mains and 4 naan breads. The food was delicious, portion sizes generous and the service great. I would suggest this restaurant for Indian food without hesitation.
