Amazing huge banh mi with crispy pork belly. I asked for extra chilli, pate and coriander.
I had some pretty enjoyable banh mi from Banh Mi Now last year but hadn't been back for a while. The cravings hit right when I have been away from the CBD thanks an extended bout of working from home. But with Queensland relaxing its stay home restrictions last weekend (allowing people to leave their home for recreational reasons) my family went for a picnic in town, and my pick of takeaway food was a grilled chicken banh mi ($6.90) from this store.
The owner also kindly treated my son to some of their spring rolls and from my sample they were definitely a treat to the taste buds, as was the banh mi which I could hardly wait to tuck into.
I'm not sure whether I want to go back to work at the office anytime soon, but when that eventually happens at least it'll be with the knowledge that some great banh mi options are only a few minutes' walk away from work.
Outstanding! I am obsessed with Banh Mi and am on the mission to find the best in Brisbane... I think I found it here! The crackling pork is sweet and salty with that perfect crunch and it’s beautiful for a quick lunch bite. I honestly enjoyed every moment of it 👍🏼 The people that work there are friendly and fast cannot ask for more. You found a new regular customer! P.S Always order with Chilli for a kick! They use fresh crushed chilli I am guessing and it gives an awesome twist to what your used to 😊
Affordable and well put together - i LOVE toasted banh mi because the whole sandwich is hot and crispy, even though maybe traditionally, it’s served warm-ish. Highly recommend the crispy pork belly banh mi, but the classic pork is fine too. Their chili sauce is really tasty and mild in my opinion so if you’re looking for extra heat you’ve gotta ask for peppers on the side or something. Otherwise, quick and easy!
This place rocks - I come here regularly for lunch and it never disappoints! I can’t go past the crackling pork belly.. absolutely delicious and well priced between $6-$8
I have been to Banh Mi Now multiple times, even the Mr knows to take away some when he drops by in the city. We usually order their Crackling Pork belly banh mi because they are so damn delicious! I love the balance of their pickled carrots and radish, and sometimes think that is the best part in a banh mi. They give generous amount of the vegetables. Their crispy pork belly is flavourful and good as well. Overall a good combo in a fairly crusty baguette. Therefore, expect some crumbs on your clothes when you bite onto them! :)
My friend and I luckily stumbled on this gem for a late snack on Saturday (after finding out Cheese Pleaser was closed for the day :( ) We saw a few people eating Bahn mi's at the bus stop and the smell emulating from the store enveloped us so we couldn't say no! I ordered the crispy pork belly with chilli caramel sauce (pictured) and my friend ordered the vegetarian, however, she was convinced they gave her chicken (Thankfully she is not a vegetarian :\) The rolls were so fresh and delicious, we will be back
Such a good lunchtime meal! Great location, consistently friendly service and deeelish banh mi 😍 always usually go for the Pork Belly roll but decided to get their Classic Pork this time - can confirm, just as yummmm
Honestly this is one of the best banh mi ive had they heat up the roll and bake them fresh everyorning. I had the traditional one ghe porl crackling one and this time the grilled chicken, the pate is just right, really fresh, only 6 bucks. Awesome
This new place has instantly became my favourite place to get cheap eat! The place’s designed only for take away food and it specialized in banh mi or Vietnamese roll. Tried the crackling pork belly roll. The pork belly itself was amazing, with salty crispy crackling skin and moist & tender belly meat. The flavours was just bursting when I took a bite! The Viet-style sweet and refreshing sour flavours, the savoury pate and the fragrant cilantro were just in harmony. The crispy vegetable also make a good mouthfeel. Overall, it was such a fantastic dish! Loved the banh mi and keen to try other menus as well ☺️
This used to be my go to place for an after work treat. The prices are super reasonable and the staff are lovely. I always get the chicken roll with chilli. Haven't been for a long long time and it's as good as I remembered! The staff even remembered me. Love your work guys :) I'll be back next time I'm around.
We know that the business is under new owner, however these banh mis are still far better than other banh mis in town. Please keep up the good work, and keep original! ================================
We ordered online earlier than their opening hours on a Saturday and could not reach them until around midday. Later we found out that they don't open on weekends thesedays (but our orders went through). However they not only apologised for the delay but also delivered their superb banh mi goodness to our door on their day off. Although we didn't get fully what we ordered -missed a meatball banh mi, but we can get it next time- we did enjoy everything they provided us. They've just earned two more loyal customes today.
