Review Momani's - Brisbane

Decent Middle Eastern restaurant in beautiful old building. It was very quiet during lunch and the food was generally quite nice. Lamb’s neck was amazing, but roast chicken abit dry. Service was okay, albeit a little slow - but I suspect our waiter thought we were there for a long lunch and left us alone. Pricing was reasonable. I would go back again mainly to explore the other adventurous meals on the menu.

Interesting and delicious menu with a unique mixture of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food. Well designed with a lovely view of the river - the glass at the front blocks out the traffic noise surprisingly well so that you're in a peaceful little enclave to enjoy your food.

Superb experience! One of our best nights out. Better food than we ate in Morocco and even Paris. Lovely, friendly service. Beautiful place with a charming atmosphere. I can’t fault a thing. We will be back many times. Thank you for making our night so special xx.

My phone was on charge so I couldn't take few photos, but many thanx to one of the girls who put my phone on charge at the end I could take few random photos. Ok now lets talk about the place and the food. First I should say 5 stars just because the owner and his mom came to our table and we had a quick chat which gave us a great welcoming moment. The food was amazing and several times they asked if we are happy with the portions so they could top it up with extra rice or fresh baked persian bread (taftoon). Staff were very friendly but should not be scared to joke with customers as well. No need to be very serious and respectful, people nowadays appreciate casualness. As a Google local guide I usually prefer to take photos of menus and prices (if possible) so people know the prices. bit of issues that we had was light was very low so you had to focus on what you eat or drink and the air conditioning was on high flow so it was kind of chilli for my wife whi wasn't wearing thick clothes as well as my daughter. The atmosphere was great and the plan to bring the middle eastern foods to Australia and mix them with Australian culture is another great decision. just make sure add Dough (Yoghurts juice) to your menu and serve customers for free to see if they like it. Thanks for great night. will come back again and again....

Location is great but the food isn't. My main course the Gheymeh tasted frozen and reheated. The beef was way over cooked and dry. The sauce had no flavour and was watery. The rice was the same like on the kebap. Our other main was the Lamb Kebap. The Lamb was good but the rice was horrible. If you order a Persian rice you expect a rice full of flavour and not a rice that is watery and taste like nothing. The plus The service is good, and the furnishing is nice. However, at the moment it's not worth the money. I really hope the can improve the things.

Im absolutley in love with this place. The resturaunt offers a great range of middle eastern and Persian foods. They also have so many different drinks and amazing desserts. What really stood out to me was the amazing decoration and atmosphere of this place . ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT IT IS SIMPLY AMAZING and it reminds me of the lovely Persian designs and arts. The food was delicious and the customer service was beyond my expectations. The owner kept visiting every table and asking about the food and peoples experience. Overall Im so happy that a proper Persian resturaunt has openned in Brisbane. This place also has function rooms available for parties and private events on the second floor of the building.

What a great restaurant. The service, the food and the wine was each unfaultable. The vegetarian, gluten free food nailed it for the Mrs, and the lamb cutlets were great. Highly recommended, one of the better meals and restaurants I've been to in a while. Made such a wonderful effort for our anniversary.

Amazing interior, great for special occasions with bookings. Good parking. Tea and desserts are great. The salads are super fresh and scrumptious. The kebab dishes have recently improved and are the best in Brisbane. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Thanks for making my daughters birthday lunch amazing, all the guests were super satisfied 🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷

My first impression about the place was " this has to be one of the most elegant middle eastern resturants in Brisbane "! This was exciting for me. The whole dinner experience didn't disappoint at all. The music was nice and calm , you can hear your companion, the menu had good variety of authentic dishes. Staff were freindly and attentivene . And the cherry on top: i had the best Baklava i have tried in Brisbane

I have just returned home sated after 3 1/2 hours at Momani's with family and friends. The restaurant is in a circa 1889 townhouse, beautifully restored and overlooking the Brisbane River. The decor is quite formal, featuring marble fireplaces and crystal chandeliers and white table linen, however, the ambience is friendly and welcoming. The background music is pleasant and where it should be; in the background.

We decided to share the food in the Persian tradition, starting with a platter of olives and a quatrain of dips. The olives had various marinades including lemon, chilli, garlic and pomegranate, while dips comprised the classic hummus, tzatziki, baba ghanoush and muhamara. All were wonderful making it hard to choose a favourite. I definitely suggest ordering the platter and trying the lot.

One of the specials tonight was a slow-cooked shoulder of lamb with crispy potatoes. The lamb was succulent and fell apart under the fork. All agreed it was outstanding, as were Momani's koftas, made with yellow lentils and beef in a light tomato-based sauce.

I love cauliflower, so the standout dish for me was Zahra, fried cauliflower dusted with cumin, served with tahini sauce. It comes as a side but I would gladly eat it as a main course.

We all ended with dessert tasting plates of four ice creams with traditional cakes. My favourite ice cream was pistachio. The ice cream accompanied baklava, olive cake and a jaffa mousse which perfectly ended our feast.

The staff are friendly, efficient and attentive, without hovering. Our water glasses never emptied and fresh drinks offered as we emptied our glasses. The beverage list accommodates all tastes.

A delightful touch is Momani visiting each table to ensure all has gone well. I confidently recommend Momani's to anyone.

Came in to try out the new menu on a Saturday afternoon. Tasty authentic Persian food, and served by Daniel who knows what’s the best on the menu all you need is to tell him how starving you are!
Love the slow-cook beef shank with hummus plated and some grilled brochinni. And can’t go wrong with Parmesan fries to go with the house made aioli sauce.
dessert: just do the dessert platter, got 4 flavours of ice cream (favourite is the rose water honey) with baklavas. More please.
Heard that they are going to have kebabs everything on Tuesday and Sunday. Will definitely come back for the high tea menu.

Wonderful Persian cuisine! Momanis is family operated restaurant serving some very tasty interpretations of middle eastern food. Highly recommend the dip platter to start with along with the spinach arancini 😋 The slow cooked rib main was outstanding, and somehow I made room for the homemade baclava for desert which was just superb 👌 also have to mention how kind they were to my young daughter who was treated like a little princess - she said it’s the “best day ever” on the way home 🥰

Momani's food is too good to be true. Besides, experiences we have had this place just wow!

My wife and I were planning to have a couple of drinks at this specific night we visited Momani's Restaurant. However, we ended up to want to try every dish in the menu after tasting a few mezzes on the list. Especially Mirza Ghasemi was something exceptional. 12 bucks for that delicious thing that come with bread? Bargain!

While we were amazed these two brothers Yamur and Daniels performance, Momani herself came out to have a chat with us. Unbelievable!

We went there the other night and it was amazing. the staff,
the food, the atmosphere was all exceptional. Count believe the portion sizes
and quality of food. They went above and beyond what we could have expected for
our vegan and lactose intolerant guests. Highly recommend if you want a great
night out.

Excellent new Bris restaurant. If you like tapas/mezze style sharing you'll like this. We had one vegetarian at our table & for once there were more than token options available for her.
We ordered the trio of dips, the eggplant, cauliflower, fatoush salad, dolmade & then lamb cutlets & chicken kebab.
Standouts for me were the cauliflower & chicken kebab, the lamb cutlets not so much. Dips were also delicious & high quality. They were not stingy with the bread, which I appreciated.
They also created some non-alcoholic drinks for us, one pink grapefruit & one rosewater flavoured both of which were fabulous.
Service was excellent & it turned out to be cost effective per head when sharing for the amount of food. It is a beautiful ambient setting also.
Definitely would recommend!

Pretty average middle eastern food, not truest authentic Persian as I come from Esfahan, the center Persian cuisine and culture. Chicken is pretty good, was disappointed with the lamb mince. Portions were pretty small, but I liked the location and for that I may come back, otherwise Farrah has much better kebab.

Polite staff
Nice restaurant
Kebab was ok I would rate the chicken kebab the best of all. Rice was good.
Cucumber and tomato salad needed more salt/lemon juice. But the other salad was alright
I would go back but probably just get the chicken kebab.
The also have a nice bar upstairs which was good
If you want to try the best Persian Kabab you should go to Melbourne Hafez restaurant, all types of kebab is great there
