Review Emmanuel's Carvery - Brisbane

They say that one should "judge a man not by the money in his pocket, but by the quality of his carvery". I wholeheartedly agree. Emmanuel and his team represent a movement in bringing quality deli meats to the people of Brisbane.

Love the potato scallops, I have had the roast pork sandwich and the rissole sandwich. Damn the rissole sandwich is fantastic.

I very much appreciate this place. I find the food so good I often take my top off to eat it as I just get so excited and sweaty. The bigger the bite the better the flavour. chomp chomp chomp!

Around 2011 their Lamb was the juiciest and tastiest thing. I used to catch the train to the city during my lunch break just for the Lamb. And introduced the place to many friends and colleagues. A few years later, the price of sandwiches nearly doubled. You would think this got you more meat or better quality....but the only change was that 95% of the time their Lamb is dry. And its easy to see the dry lighter bits when they cut the meat - whereas the juices oozed out before with no gravy required. Today it was so devoid of moisture that it was harder as well. As a result its gone down from my daily lunch to perhaps once or twice a year - where I test it hoping it's recovered. The gravy is very good - although the meat needs to be buried in gravy some times to avoid choking on the dry Lamb. I''ve found their service to be really good -the manager who generally cuts the meat (might be the proprietor) could be friendlier.

If you’re in Brisbane or work close by you should already know about Emanuel’s. From their thick toast with vegemite in the morning for a cheap inexpensive brekky on the go to their gems with home made Gravy this place is the bees knees. Now I must write up a special mention to a particular item. The spicy chicken schnitzel sandwich with the gravy. WOW. A big call but definitely truthfully the best sandwich I have ever eaten. It is juicy chicken breast schnitzel with a spicy crumb made in house and their gravy is better than anything else. Get this and enjoy. Special shout out to the old duck who usually makes mine she’s an absolute champion! This one belongs in the record books. Brisbane Urban List should be on this Sanga!

The best bacon and egg rolls in the entire city. Get the Turkish one. The decadent sauce also cannot be missed.

Good old fashioned food and service

This place is hectic. Expect super fast service where you are yelling your order over the counter. Old school carvery place. I personally loved it. Looked like it is run by a family. All the roast meat looked fresh and super juicy. I got the spicy chicken burger. Not spicy enough for me but the flavour was there. My friend got the lamb sandwich. She loved hers too. There is so much to choose from in the menu. It's perfect for a quick lunch.

We placed a large lunch order with the guys there and picked it up an hour later as was requested. The food was fresh and ready to go when we arrived. They were very helpful and had only just made everything moments before we arrived. Everyone who ate their lunch come to me and thanked me for making that choice. The food was very nice and the quantity was enormous for the price paid.

Great job guys very well done. More than happy to recommend anyone to go there.

Not sure why the rating is low. I come here to eat the spicy Chicken roll with gravy for $9.40. The bread is fresh and the chicken is nice and crunchy. Probably the best chicken roll in town. The serving is large so you will be full. Come to think of it maybe don’t try it cos it get quite addictive.

The BEST baked spuds I've ever tasted. Staff are always super friendly, and prices are reasonable. I've been coming to this place for years!

Just paid $6 for a few roast veggies 😱 (I cannot eat potato)
Then I noticed different roast meats and asked how much for one slice of roast pork the gentleman said $9 😱
I ended up only having my roast veggies! 😕
The gentleman was really rude and appeared angry when asked how much, but the young girl serving was nice & courteous and apologized ☺

A good place for a quick bite and running back to office. They make decent burgers and meat pattys.
Tried the meat burger and it was filling and tasty.

Spicy chicken schnitzel roll for lunch. It was tasty however it's expensive to get extra toppings on it. It ended up cost around $11 from the original $8.50. There are much better deals going around for a CBD lunch
