Review The Godfather - Brisbane

Traditional / old school style takeaway pizza, not overly thick, not thin or "rustic". Decent amount of toppings and usually very tasty with a nice crust. The meal deals are good value, especially as you get a garlic pizza (yum!) for free.

Good, old fashioned pizza. Not trying to be too fancy... with the right amount of toppings and decent crust. Reasonably priced as well.

Well this was an unforgettable experience. I have been going to Godfathers for years but never had an event like this. So we have family staying and they decided to order pizza for their last night here, with deli y by Menu Log. A delivery arrived in about the correct time frame; however, it wasn’t our order. The Menu Log driver said it wasn’t his problem and to ring about the issue. We contacted Godfathers, to be told we had been given the wrong order and ours was ready. Godfathers would call back in a couple of minutes to let us know what the go was. 20 minutes later we called them and they could not deliver our order. We had to go and pick it up. Noting this was all up about 1 1/2 hours later. Just as we were walking out the door, Godfathers rang and asked us to bring the other order back. May seem innocent at this point, but this gets much more exciting from here. I returned the other order and collected our order in the restaurant. The young girls were apologetic but no offer of any compensation (not even a free drink). Just as I was getting in the car to come home my wife rings me. Godfathers had rang our cousin who ordered and asked if we were able to deliver the order we had returned for them. So… Godfathers had called the other lady to say her food could not get delivered and is she could pick it up (we have had this food in our possession for nearly an hour and it is dead cold). The lady apparently said she was disabled and unable to collect. Hence, why they asked us to deliver. There are so many things wrong with this. 1. You cannot serve food to someone, not only stone cold, but has been in our house and car (we could have done anything to the food) 2. You cannot give out another customer’s address to fix a mistake. So we are going to deliver cold food to a stranger. 3. Sort the issue out, it is not up to the customers to collect their own food. What if I had been consuming alcohol and couldn’t drive or even disabled? 4. We finally got our dinner and it was very cool. I think they had tried to keep it warm, but definitely not fresh hot. I can only assume that the other poor lady has not yet got her dinner a couple of hours later. I would not be surprised if she does get the food, it would be what was originally delivered to us. I do not know the percentage of blame between Godfathers and Menu Log, but as a former customer, this is just not good enough on any level. I am very disappointed and shocked at the actions of staff.

Nice staff but pizza quality below average. Portions not cut had to tear apart, sloppy base, no crunch. Toppings average flavour.

Great pizzas, so much variety everyone in the family was happy, including child who doesn’t like pizza as we can order pastas as well. Friendly & prompt service

Very disappointed with the pizzas we had tonight, very soggy base and didn't taste good. It's a shame as there used to be more authentic Italian flavours and dough.

Ordered in advance and repeated my order over the phone 3 times. Arrived and had to wait 15 mins. Confirmed that my pizza had anchovies which it didn’t . Was told they would remake it but we had ice cream from baskin robbins in the car. Was given my $2 back for anchovies. Was going to try Joeys at Ashgrove tonight, so disappointed we didn’t! We don’t get takeaway often so very disappointed when they can’t get it right. Also noticed that 1 of the pizza makers wasn’t wearing gloves and 3 had no masks. Very poor on these covid times. I won’t be going back

I enjoyed this restaurant very much. The manager gave me top of the line wine while I visited. Also I have never visited Australia and I am a pathological liar

Bought a panzarotti and salad last night... omg the service i received from Ridgetown was above and beyond.. From the phone service to the delivery service from Micelle was a huge huge breath of fresh air !!!!!.. big big kudos to the Ridgetown staff !!!!!

So this review is based off my Uber Eats order. Tonight I ordered the small GodFather with anchovies and boy was it delicious! Quick service saw my food delivered in about 30mins on a Friday night. Loved the flavour and the size was perfect for one! Will definitely have to go in and check out this place in person!

Pizzas were disappointing... they had very little sauce and were quite tasteless, they were also very small for the price. The Marinara pasta was horrible, it tasted like cardboard and rotten fish. The seafood in the pasta tasted like it was deffinetly canned. Disappointing overall.

I was recently tossing up wether I should just get takeaway from Pizza Hut or Domino's, but i'm glad I chose to order from the Godfather's pizza instead. I ordered the "Godfather" pizza and the calzone, both of which I found outstanding in taste and texture, and were made in an exceptionally short time. The service was also excellent, and I will be sure to tip the polite and respectful young man who took my order. I will definitely stop by next time I am in Brisbane, and I would recommend you do too!

The best pizza you will find in Brisbane. i recommend the godfather with added Jalapeño's. great customer service and great prices. Way better than Domino's

Ordered two pizzas for Valentine’s Day and now we are both up and violently ill... the pizzas looked old and the saltiness was overwhelming, the sauce that you’d expect to be on the bottom was non existent which made it dry and chewy.. I had such high hopes for this place but unfortunately am very dissatisfied and now ill.

We haven’t been for a while. Disappointed to find Customer service is dreadful. We received the wrong pizza and they didn’t care. They used to be so friendly.

We tried Godfathers Pizza & Pasta Bar for the first time and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty. Great customer service and didn't have to wait long. Overall a good meal and great value we will certainly be going back.

Worst "Italian" food I've eaten in a long time. I ordered some aranacini balls, lasagna and a pizza. The arancini balls were extremely bland and cold in the middle and weren't cooked through enough for cheese to melt in the middle. The lasagna had no meat in between the layers and was surrounded by watery liquid, I assume from being frozen then re heated in a microwave as the centre was also cold.

Was looking forward to trying pizza from a proper pizza &a pasta bar. Chicken & avocado pizza was terrible. It was super over cooked with only a few bits of avocado &a chicken, i spent $23 including delivery when I could've gotten an $8 from Pizza Hut. Very disappointed.

Ordered bolognese and marinara pastas on UberEATS and both meals were bland and definitely not restaurant quality. The price was very reasonable at $13.50 each but very disappointing.

Super impressed - one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. <br/><br/>I had the BBQ Chicken and bacon, then added pineapple. Pricing was reasonable considering the deliciousness of the finished product. You can order a small or pay $7 extra for a large (which is what I did). Toppings were plentiful and flavoursome, giving the pizza a good amount of weight - I could only finish half a large pizza, and I can usually eat 1.5 Dominos pizzas, no problems. The base was light, thin and crispy. <br/><br/>Ordered - through UberEats and the Pizza arrived piping hot. I've found my new favourite pizza store - well done.

Will have to sadly agree with most of the reviews on here as of late. This place used to ooze Italian tradition and flavours and now it seems like just another take away pizza place run with no passion or love for the food. Pasta is constantly overcooked - dining in/delivery/takeaway and pizza is bland. Makes a difference not seeing the older Italian couple folding the pizza cartons at the seats watching tv and always having a smile on their faces. This used to be our local and after moving we didn't visit that much, but since our return it's pretty disappointing to come back to.

Good pizza. There were decent toppings. Delivery was super quick and $3 is fine. The gluten free Orion was nice. Not the 'best pizza ever' kind of place but you won't get a dud meal.

Delicious and good value! We dined here as a group of four on a Saturday night and ordered three large pizzas between us. This was PLENTY! We couldn't finish them! We had the Godfather supreme, the peri peri chicken and the reef and beef. The chicken was standout - I don't normally like chicken pizzas but this one was delicious! We had mild and it was still really spicy - really good! <br/><br/>The Godfather was a very tasty supreme and funnily enough the reef and beef was everyone's least favourite of the night (even though it was still really nice). The meat overpowered the prawns a bit. <br/><br/>Staff were lovely and very accommodating for our pram. It's also great value being on the Entertainment Card. The whole group really enjoyed our evening and I'd definitely return.

This place is not worth it. Can't believe I actually paid money for the meal I had tonight when I may as well have just made it myself. Hardly any sauce and the pasta was well undercooked. Seriously really disappointed with the quality and will not be coming back !

Since the new owners have come in, it has lost its authentic Italian touch. The Pizza have less ingredients on them and you can feel the love isn't there anymore. Back to Pizza Hut I guess.

Food is perfect - atmosphere is like a cafe in Italy. Doesn't get any better if you want authentic Italian in Brisbane. 5 Stars from me. Will become a regular.

BEST Pizza & Pasta Restaurant. I love this place. They were all very friendly, nice genuine people who really cared about their customers. <br/>The food was amazing!! I would even go as far to say they do the best pizzas I've ever had at a restaurant. <br/>I had the gluten free pizza base and it was brilliant.<br/><br/>If you want to go somewhere where the people put a lot of effort into making your food with love and perfection then go here. Also has the coolest atmosphere, love the theme and the interior of the restaurant. <br/><br/>Unfortunately people have put down a couple negative reviews and all I can say to that is ignore it because you'd be seriously missing out if you didnt try the food here. It is traditional italian food so you're getting high quality food that you'd typically find Italy but you're getting it in brisbane. There will be differences but thats because they're the real deal. <br/><br/>Thankyou to the lovely family that work there, you took great care of my friend and I and I'll definitely be coming back!<br/><br/>You're awesome!!<br/>:) :)

Awesome Pizza and Staff. We got here late on a Sunday night, not only did they let us order but also hung around while we ate our delicious pizza out the front. The staff are all friendly and happy, the pizza's are prime! way better than any franchise stuff and better value. Awesome little traditional italian pizzeria, worth a start<br/>Will be back again

Change of venue. We usually get pizza from Naples at Bardon. However the customer service is terrible, so we decided to try somewhere different. We were not disappointed. The godfather pizza at Asgrove will now be our pizza of choice. Great pizza, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Had a great night. Thanks.

Beudiful. Great relaxed atmosphere no frills necessary, lovely yum home style Italian food & the genuine mamma working the kitchen clearly shows how much love goes into their food..... especially the arancini! Keep up the good work guys.

Lovely little family run spot with some of the best pizza in Brisbane! Quick and friendly service. A definite must try!

The pizza is horrible, don't bother. We've ordered two pizzas, both taste worse than the ones from chain places- greasy and tastless with a gluey base. We've used their offer on the coles receipt and it was such a waste of money. Bought the first and the last time, they are no near an italian pizza. Too spicy, can't even eat, dumped to the bin. To those with stomach disorders, avoid. Don't bother, go elsewhere.

The worst experience at a restaurant ever!! Order 1 medium pizza take away which we were told take 15 minutes. Our order ended up taking 1 hour, the lady at the front desk had a public screaming match with one of her employees. At no point did someone approach us to apologise for the delay in fact they were rude enough to basically throw the pizza box our way once the order was finally ready. I will never ever ever return to this restaurant nor will I ever speak a good word of this place

Lover of pizza. Best pizza by far, full of flavour and fresh toppings and the fantastic friendly service is so nice to see. It is a family run business, we will definitely be returning.

Brisbanes No.1 Pizzas. Great people serving the most delicious pizzas and pasta. A really warm, friendly atmosphere and great selection of real Italian flavours. Worth the drive from anywhere in Brisbane to get your teeth into some of this goodness!

Great pizza, the service is second to none, highly recommend this place

The pizzas are ok, but they never get the orders right. Don't trust their online menu it is different to what they will give you. And if there is something you don't want on pizza because you don't like it it you don't eat for religious reasons, don't expect them to listen when you stress them to not put it on, as we found out on another occasion.

Great service, great pizza, great value. It's all about the family at Godfathers. Mum,Dad, kids, grandparents - they're all there working and playing in the restaurant. Even the staff are treated like family. And they love to serve you. Felt like one of the family with caring service from Mum, and custom additions to the pizza by Dad. Their pizza is great too - beats the soggy tasteless stuff hands down. Great pizza choices on the menu and unlike some places, nothing that doesn't belong on a pizza. Pasta too but we didn't get past the pizza. Finally the price is just such good value - family of 4, 2 large pizzas and drinks dine in for $45, with enough left over to take home for lunch tomorrow. BYO beer & wine softens the price too. Got to make it a regular every couple of weeks.

If you like soggy pizza. Was recommended to go there and have a great pizza. But was very disappointed. Arrived there on a quiet night, but still waited over an hour for two pizza's. Being Italian myself and knowing that the owners are Italian , I expected the pizza to be nice and crusty, instead we were served pizza that was under cooked and extremely oily, with way too much topping. We both had one slice and we got up and left. No chance I will be back.

This is a great find. A hidden gem with lovely people and great tasty food. Dinner for 2 with drinks and dinner/desert for $60. Highly recommend.

Amazing pizzas & fabulous staff!. What more can I say, definitely a top notch Italian pizzeria, just a quick stroll from the City, which makes it a perfect spot for either a deli take-away, or casual dine-in on a lazy Sunday arvo...the pizzas were great, classic Italian, on a crispy base but not too thin, with just enough toppings (not overdone like plenty would do it!) to burst into your mouth with full range of wholesome flavours...of prosciutto, funghi, formaggi, frutti di mare...and so much more...splendid!!! <br/><br/>Was also very pleasantly surprised with their staff...usually take away joints are not know for the best level of service, but it's definitely not the case here. Friendly, efficient, helpful, and eye pleasing (which, honestly, is always a big plus!)...especially the dark haired girl (my strong guess is that she's a "real deal' Italian) that took our orders, which, I must admit, often requires a lot of patience & understanding.<br/><br/>Good work guys, definitely will come back!
