Lamenting on the decision of the Mt Gravatt Montezuma’s closing down which led me here for my Mexican fix.
Good points: beautiful and spacious restaurant and clean. Friendly service.
Not so good points: Although the food looked aesthetically pleasing, portion size was generous, it was bland. The beans were lacking flavour.
I would go again, but not for a while. All in all, really hoping that the food improves as Montezuma’s is a family favourite.

The food was very fresh and it was also fill of flavour. The wait is not too bad as all food are made to order. The staff were friendly and the drinks was adequate to perfection. We will be back.

The service was good and meals average or below that. I don't understand the formula of Monetzuma restaurant and why people should dine here still these days. With regards to the drinks don't have any tap beers which for a retastaurant is a bit odd.

Food is average, but the service was really lovely and they were quite fast to serve our big table. Had few margaritas and they were good too.

Went there a few weeks ago - the food was good but the service was slow (they were short staffed), drinks took an hour or more to be made and I gave them $50 for $40 worth of drinks and didn't get change back - I couldn't be bothered asking for the $10 as they were short staffed. The drinks are overpriced.

Best Mexican food I've ever eaten. Montezumas in capellaba is THE BEST .... food is to die for. Atmosphere is chilled. Family friendly. Amazing staff... would drive 1000 klm just to eat the food.

I'm pretty sure they were pissed off we were there and inconveniencing them on a weekday lunch time when they must usually have the place to themselves?<br/>We were given menus but not offered drinks or starters then waited so long we made a point of putting the menus to the side hoping they would see we had finished browsing.<br/>Finally our orders were taken and food brought out. I was so excited to have a weekday margarita and omg what a let down they were like pure cordial syrup I involuntarily shuddered with one small sip. <br/>I asked for water and was directed to get it myself.<br/>Food was edible but you have to pay extra for basics like sour cream and guacamole as it doesn't come standard with your nachos or tacos and extra again for enough chips to finish the nacho bean dip. When your paying around $20 a plate that's pretty poor form.<br/><br/>Our conversation most of the drive home was based around speculation of how someone who treated customers with such distain came to have a job in a restaurant it was almost comical if we hadn't have left so thirsty.

Consistantly delicious tasty modernised mexican. Plates are filling and flavoursome. Book a table or go right on opening time. The decor, although a bit old, still works really well to create that bright spirited mexican vibe. I get the pulled beef enchilladas with rice & refried beans with guacamole & sour cream. The Spicey sauce just tops it all off. Good service. Plenty of off street parking. Open for lunch & dinner. Yumm... I want to go back now!!

Great lunch! The guacamole was the best! A fantastic fresh healthy salad which amazing. Loved the choice of mexican beers. Vegan and vegetarian options available too!! We will be back!!

Very average meal. No spice and could have done better with an Old El Paso kit from Coles to be honest. Disappointing start to weekend.

Nice and consistent. While the food is nice and comforting (you don't leave hungry normally) there isn't a great deal of spice. We like to share a trio of dips for starters and then our favourite mains. The side salad they put on a lot of the menu items is great and the side of chilli is very nice (though again... there is no heat to it). About the only thing we aren't happy with are the taquitos, being on the very small side and over cooked (the one time we tried them).

Neveragain. Over an hour for the meal to arrive,we were told 30 minutes.Takeaways are given priority over diners<br/>Basic staff service.the food was boring tasteless stodgy.Waste my of time and money.
