Review Laruche - Brisbane

IMPRESSIVE TEAM We recently attended our friends 40th birthday and we were impressed from the minute we were greeted at the front door. We had the exclusive use of the upstairs space, but gathered downstairs until about half of the guests arrived. The bar team were quick, friendly and happy to shake, mix and serve some very special creations. We were then ushered upstairs and the exceptional service continued. Food isn’t something I’ve eaten in a nightclub before and it was mind blowing. From pizza to asparagus, lamb koftas to chicken skewers and baked Camembert were simply delicious. Literally, every guest commented how fantastic the food was and there was plenty. Speeches were quick before the lights were dimmed and the DJ hit the decks for us to dance the night away. The single location for dinner, drinks and dancing is the most fun I’ve had for a birthday in a long time. Talk to the events team and they are super flexible and willing to help.

Had my 30th here last weekend and it was *FLAWLESS* Tyrone was beyond amazing. Every need I had was accommodated for and he went above and beyond in every way. The food was delicious, my guests were blown away and the timing of it all worked perfectly with the evening. Could not recommend this place enough. Tyrone was an absolute gem to work with and my bartender for the night Roxy was a star. So fun and personable and wonderful! If you’re questioning booking with these guys, do it! You won’t have a single regret!

Not the best place to get a drink. Don’t really understand the interior design. It looks as though every venue in the valley that had left over stock for their in house equipment gave it to larouche at a discount. Drinks are mediocre and staff seemed somewhat engaging. Nothing to write home about. Spaced out tables. Comfortable setting. 3 stars.

Handy little cocktail bar in the heart of Fortitude Valley. I’ve never had a bad night here in all the years it has been gracefully serving the valley. Funky vibe and decorations featuring tall chairs, tables and high back upholstered chairs. The cocktail menu isn’t huge but there will definitely be something you want to try. Opens up into the back lane way but not sure if you can smoke there.

Had an amazing night! Organised my partners 30th upstairs. Amazing bartenders upstairs really made the vibe! Thanks ❤️ Such a great space.

Wonderful drinks, lovely night! Extra stars for the comfy seating, gentle lighting and espresso martinis ❤️

Interesting decor, as though Tim Burton invaded the designer's dreams. Lovely staff, comfy little alcoves to chat in, and good cocktails too keep the conversation flowing. Great of them to play host to a number of delicious gin options during February's Ginsanity too.

I arranged a 40th birthday party for my wife at Laruche. Everything was perfect and my wife loved her party. All staff were helpful and friendly. Food, cake and drinks were great. Thanks Laruche!

This is a Brisbane institution. The music is always spot on. They’ve got some great DJ’s there all the time. No matter the day. The drink menu is extensive and priced very well. The atmosphere is very very cool. Aircon always pumping so you don’t feel claustrophobic inside, specially after dancing to the great tunes all night.

Dirty and disgusting with rude staff.  Had the unfortunate experience of booking our Xmas function here.  They didn't bother bringing good out until 15 minutes before the function ended - 4 hours without food - that we paid over $4K for.  No response from management or owners.  Filthy and vile - go somewhere nice as this place is simply the pits.

Terrible experience here. Had my Christmas Party here the venue was very run down and dirty and the way our group was handled by management was strange and disappointing.

Bad, bad and bad(( ruined our girls night out. Have booked a table and two platters(seafood and a meat one) for 5 people 5 days prior. Paid for the food online. Had an email that the payment have been reserved. Upon arrival they told me that I owe them $120 for the food. Of course I didn't have the printed confirmation with me because I never experienced problems like that before in any other places. Tried to convince them that I have paid and it seemed to work. Ok they bringing us the meat platter- two dishes with meatballs!!! For $60!!! After a long talk with the staff they finally got us a proper nice platters. Can't fail the food-it was nice. Finished our food and decided not to stay there anymore But!!! Of course they asked us either to pay for the food or show them the confirmation email!! Had to call husband to sent it on my phone and felt myself like I was stealing something from them(( disgusting. No communication between management and staff in that place obviously. That's basically it(( was very upset when I came out from there. Never again((

Its a nice theme bar and loved the interior, bartenders are great at service but floor was too messy,Broken glasses were every where,Even on the dance floor, floor was slippery,Simply floor staff is not doing so great, you guys need more attention and need to hire more people to stay focused.<br/>Hospitality people always go there and you should know they always know whats going on but end of the day they are patrons.<br/>Not so happy with cleaning and clearing tables.

LaRuche has been on my 'to visit list' for some time. You all know I'm a sucker for good cocktails so actually, I surprised even myself by waiting this long to visit. I put this down to the fact that Brisbane's dining scene is so busy at the moment- my 'to visit' list is considerably longer than it was this time last year. (Sorry guys- there will be no photos for this post either- my phone had a coniption and lost the images.) The opening of LaRuche attracted a lot of attention some even spruiking it as the 'new cloudland.' Personally, I don't really think this description suits the place at all. Even though the interior design is complex and quirky, the only comparison I can draw between the two is that they are both quite different to your usual Brisbane establishment so therefore have been lumped together as being the same. Don't be fooled. LaRuche has a completely different, much more intimate feel than Cloudland. The staff are friendly, happy and knowledgeable and genuinely seem l

Do not recommend. I had my 21st at Laruche back in January. We ordered food platters for everyone that came.. that platters are $50 each. The chicken skewers are just bad.. there really isn't enough chips on the platter to warrant charging $50. The croquets are ok. The pork belly was probably the best thing out of the whole night. <br/><br/>The drinks were awful! I think I managed to get one good cocktail out of the night. As soon as it got busy the drinks became sour and definitely had waaayy too much alcohol. They will get you drunk.. but you'll be pulling a few sour faces too. The drink service was also really really slow. I was wondering where everyone had gone but they were all at the bar! I don't think I was anyone in the joint dancing because they were all waiting for a drink. Would I go back? Probably not, and neither would anyone at the party.

Excellent Service- Spectacular food. As consumers and patrons we are very quick to put up a bad review, but good service very rarely goes acknowledged. I have recently become wheat intolerant and am often frustrated by the limited food options available. When exposed to said villainous grass, I have swelling of my limbs and face, become dizzy and experience a myriad of other delightful symptoms. <br/>When I visited Laruche a few weeks ago I was very disappointed to hear that they had not received their delivery of gluten free (gf) buns. This meant that I could not partake of the delicious sliders on offer. Our waiter although a little distracted by my friend’s voluminous cleavage was wonderful and eager to help. He went back and forth a few times to ensure that my chosen food was safe for me to eat. The chef also offered to create something special just for me. I was also given a free beverage to apologise for their lack of gf buns. There was some confusion with my order as our waiter was again distracted by my friend’s cleavage, and so I received a lot more food than I had ordered. But even that was no trouble; they did not charge me for me food that was prepared in confusion. <br/>I had the pork belly, & gf crispy fried chicken. The pork belly was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth, I am not a fan of pork belly but I would definitely go back for more. I did not have high expectations for the fried chicken so I was more than pleasantly surprised with the crispy and flavourful perfection I was presented with. Even my non gf friends enjoyed my food.<br/>There is no more to say, the service was fantastic, as was the food. Please support this establishment.

The most pathetic bar I have ever entered. Rude bar staff, over prices drinks, young hipsters who think they are rock stars! Further to the entire negative this place was, we were here visiting from Melbourne. I was minding my own business with friends when some iced up freak of a male started abusing me and screaming at me, he was so crazy and was going to punch me! I had never even seen him before. Just a bad vibe, bad people and a bad place in my opinion.

Worst Mojito's ever!. Nice bar, with good atmosphere. But terrible, terrible mojito's. So bad that I didn't even finish it.

Brisbane's best kept secret. Had my son's 21st at Laruche on Friday night. Awesome! Great food, impressive drinks & cocktail menu & the staff are so friendly & helpful. Everyone had a fantastic night. We had a private area upstairs called the Front Room. Great decor & atmosphere. Would recommend this place to everyone. My only regret is that I didn't know about this place before!

I visited laruche a about 6 weeks ago now and it was amazing not 1 bad thing can be said, so I decidedo go back again with some friends to show them how good it was on Friday night and I was far from impressed. I looked stupid to my close friends after all I did was say how amazing it was. The food was either raw or over seasoned . I don't think I will ever be back now to eat ever again. The drinks menu was amazing so big n the bar staff know there stuff. I just feel the kitchen was a massive let down..

Have always enjoyed the cocktails here but recently had my first eat in experience. I was blown away. Small simple menu packed with flavour. Blue cheese chicken...yummmm! Service was incredible - Attentive, friendly and fun.

Quirky and classy. My girls and I went to Laruche for cocktails and were super impressed. The decor is amazing and really quirky and classy, the staff are professional and helpful. The cocktails were fantastic too! I have nothing negative to say about this place and will definitely be returning!

It's my birthday!. I have a great night each time I visit Laruche - delicious food, scrumptious cocktails and great atmosphere. That's why I chose to hold my birthday party at Laruche on Saturday night and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I had a fabulous night and thoroughly recommend this venue. Viva Laruche!

No Food!!. Booked a spot at Laruche for what was hopefully going to be a fun night. Spoke to the events manager and informed her I was look ing for cocktails and food. Cocktails were very nice but no food except for the occasional olive! After inquiring about food, we were told by the bar staff because there was a function upstairs, the kitchen was overwhlelmed and food could not be provided. Very disappointed after specificly requesting this and choosing this place. Would not go back

Staff Training?. I drink a lot of cocktails and expect staff at a cocktail bar to know how to make a modern day classic like a Tommy's Margarita.<br/><br/>Crowd was very poser-like too, not very relaxed.<br/><br/>not impressed, go to bowery next door and drink at a real cocktail bar.

Wonderful. Went here with my boyfriend for tapas and a few cocktails after work one evening. It was absolutely wonderful. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the tapas were incredible. The atmosphere is better than anywhere else in Brisbane. Ended up spending far more than I would have liked but that was only because I loved the bar and didn't want to leave. 5 stars

FaBulous LaRuche!. LaRuche has awesome visual impact as you walk through the doors. Dripping chandeliers to luxurious lounges the detail is fantastic. The service is attentive and friendly and they really know how to make you feel special. We enjoy sitting at the bar watching the barstaff make bespoke cocktails and eating our way through the tapas menu over a long evening.

Wow this place looks great just the right place to come and have a few drinks with friends and share some food. This was my first visit here since last year and it has just seemed to get better. The cocktails were great and the few plates of tapas we got wow I didn't think bars did food like this will definitely be returning.

Funky interior (think cloudland-esque) but with great food, even better cocktails and friendly staff. Two thumbs up!

I love the martinis.

Love this hidden wonderland. After having a lovelly meal at Asian Fusion, my friend and I went in search of a suitable cocktail bar to finish of the night... As I had partook in MOJITOs at the Bowery bar I suggest to my melbournite friend that this would be one to try. <br/><br/>What a surprise to ACCIDENTLY enter Laruche instead and stumble into a hidden wonderland. I could not reccomend this place enough as to the cocktails, the music, the staff and the 'scenery",<br/><br/>Next time I want to get a group together and sit at the table with no matching chairs, Madhatter's teaparty style and enjoy a meal!!

Best cocktails around. Haven't eaten here yet but it is a great place with amazing cocktails. one of my faves in brisbane.

You'd better keep your eyes peeled, otherwise you'd assumed the front is like any shop front window. We helped ourselves through a big black glass door, and I personally, was amazed at what greeted me behind the it! It was like Alice in Wonderland, meets Edward elegance: a world of its own.
Eating Brisbane
Blink and you will miss this new joint on the Ann Street end of the Valley. Nestled next to The Bowery, one of Brisbane’s cocktail icons, Laruche, is the latest creation by the team who have brought you Lychee Lounge in the West End.
