We visit for a HK Roast Meats lunch and are warmly greeted on arrival. I ask for a pot of Pu Erh tea and place our lunch order.
*The serving of Roast Duck and Roast Pork is quite generous. The Roast Duck is freshly roasted and juicy while the Roast Pork Belly is tender and the crackling is crispy like wafer.
*The Soft Shelled Crab Baos are freshly prepared. The Crab is piping hot and is complemented with a warm Bao. Served with Salad and Mayo, this entree is delicious.
Service by the single waitress is exceptional and she deserves the gratuity we left her. Thank you guys!
I'd only tried their individual serve meals in the past, so was only too happy to say yes when our friends invited us to a meal out at Little Hong Kong.
Our order:
* No.31 Marmite pork ribs, $17.90
* No.41 Kung Po chicken, $16.90
* No.72 Eggplant & minced pork pot, $15.90
* No.75 Lohan mixed vegetables in vegetarian oyster sauce, $13.90
* No.92 Chicken fried rice with salted fish, $13.90
We had a booking but experienced some delay in being seated due to waiting for previous groups to finish. Good that the venue was adhering to the limits though, and there was plenty of covid safety signage in place. Food wise everything was pretty good, with my favourites being the pork and eggplant dishes. There was even leftovers which meant we got to enjoy the food a second time. More, please!
We revisited this restaurant after an absence of many years. It has now been renovated. We were impressed with the taste, portions and service. Sandy who was overseeing the customer orders was very helpful and efficient. Needless to say, we returned over several months and totally enjoyed the BBQ meats, Sweet & Sour Pork, Hokkien Mee, Char Koay Teow, Hor Fun, Fried Rice, Kang Kong Belachan etc.....just wonderful.
We’ve been to Little Hong Kong many times. Everything was perfect. The price was reasonable. Our favourite dishes are eggplant and BBQ meat. Staff are friendly. Environment is very comfortable. Dishes are very big.
This time we ordered braised beef brisket and eggplant. Beef brisket was super tender and tasty. Eggplant taste super delicious.
Will visit again!
Delicious food and value for money.
Roast Pork Belly, was the best dish. The skin was crispy and the meat wasn't gamey. It was juicy and very well marinated.
Seafood Laksa, this was disappointing. The seafood wasnt too good. The sauce tasted more curry than laksa.
Sweet and sour pork, felt like I was in Hong Kong. It was very tasty.
Beef in black bean paste was too salty. Flavour was good.
Fried rice was really tasty. Done very well.
Would go back again !

Great food at good prices.
In the heart of market square, this place is some amazing Authentic Asian Dishes.
Hainan chicken is one of the best we’ve had.
My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful lunch at your restaurant. The food was so good and the staff very friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to go back again when we are back in Queensland. Thank you very much. Wendy
Fantastic service here, they have recently renovated and updated the menu for the restaurant which is very good. I would recommend visiting this restaurant.
Came here on a weekday for lunch and it was pretty quiet. Service was great as the owner and the waitress came up to check up on us a few times. Great air conditioned area for a hot summer day, but quite annoying having flies flying around inside. Food was good, can never go wrong with Chinese bbq meats. Only thing was I wish the roasted pork had more crackle. The portion size was generous as well!
This place has been recently refurbished with more space. More variety of food with great taste. Peking duck is also being added to the new menu with unbeatable price. There is also an improvement on services provided.
Highly recommend this place (wouldn't have said this a year or two ago)! Tasty food, well priced and large portions! We ordered a char kway tweo and a two selection with rice, roast duck and pork and it only cost us 23 bucks! I believe this place has changed owners since the construction commenced at Market Square and the new owners have changed the menu and made it more affordable to attract more business.
We love the tasty food here. So reasonable and always very quick service. Everything we’ve ordered is always delicious. It’s so hard trying to decide on what to eat- it’s all so good!
Business at Little Hong Kong has definitely slowed down significantly since the construction going on in market square for its extension. We had visited in the past where prices were slightly higher (perhaps prices have now been reduced to attract more business) and the food was not as tasty. The restaurant certainly is placed in a corner and is not very well spotted with the surrounding construction. Many windows have been boarded up and air-conditioning has now been installed. Upon revisiting after a few years, we were definitely very pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. The dishes here are very cheap (around $8-$13) with great quantity and quality!
For entree we ordered the deep fried bean curd ($8.80) which I can safely say was so delicious and would definitely recommend ordering! The bean curd was fried very well and was very crispy on the outside whilst still being very soft and light on the inside. There was plenty of fried bean curd pieces which is definitely worth it for its price point. This dish was served with a side of pickled vegetables and some sweet chilli dipping sauce. The only negative thing for this dish was that it was very oily. Of course the dish had been deep fried however, when you bite into each piece of tofu a spurt of oil comes out too. I ended up blotting the remaining pieces on a tissue first so it wasn't so oily. However, for a light and delicious entree this is still a perfect dish to order!
The first main dish we ordered was a bbq meal - you can choose from between 1 to 3 roast meats and the base (i.e. noodles/rice). [Note that the menu provided on Zomato at time of writing is different to the one in store and prices are slightly different too]. The first step which was to choose from one, two or three selections of roast meats. We decided on ordering two roast meats which on the new menu is $12.80. In the second step we then chose 2 roasted meats to which we chose crispy pork belly and roast duck (no extra cost). The last step is to choose between rice (which is the standard/free option on the new menu), soup noodles (+$1), dry noodles (+$1) and fried rice (+3.50). We chose the dry noodles so the dish came to a total of $13.80.
The roast meats are generous and some of the best in Brisbane! The roast belly pork is very crispy and not too fatty. The duck is roasted perfectly and not dry at all. The skin is crispy, and perfect dipped into the sauce provided on the side. This dish is also served with a few pieces of vegetable. The noodles are cooked well and complement the roast meats well. Would highly recommend ordering this dish for a bit more choice of what you want to order exactly.
The other main dish we ordered was the dried stir-fried beef hor fun. This dish was only $9.80 and had plenty of ingredients. The noodles definitely had the wok hei flavour which really brought out all the other flavours of the other ingredients. The beef was tender and the bean sprouts were still crunchy - not overcooked at all. This dish is delicious and we would recommend it highly!
Overall, the food here has definitely improved greatly and for all the dishes price points the value is great too! The food arrives very promptly and the roast meats are one of the best in Brisbane! Would highly recommend visiting Little Hong Kong!
Although the extension project of Market Square brings a huge negative impact on the traffic flow that affects the existing restaurants' business, it does not affect the consistency of their production. Went to explore this eatery since my last review nearly three years ago. It seemed to be me walking in a strange place that I have ever been. The open view through the window has been gone and diners have to enjoy their meals just like within a tuckbox. Having said that the meals are still fantastic. Love to have the tasteful BBQ food, particularly the crispy pork belly with the crunchy and cracklings. In addition, the stirred fried short rice noodles also deserves thumb-up in terms of the "wok qi" and balanced taste. The century egg & pork congee to go with the deep fried bread stick is the best medicine to cure my homesickness of missing Hong Kong since left her back to 1982. Well, this is a good place to recall your memories of having meals at Hong Kong. Cheers!

Having said some suggestion to Little Singapore restaurant group's management recently, I wish that they won't misunderstand I am nit-picking issues on them. Indeed, I found that they do a beautiful idea of really providing spectacular menu in Little Hong Kong BBQ restaurant (another sibling of Little Singapore). This restaurant located at Market Square Food Precinct and just across the road from the mother restaurant. I saw them how to pull down the old "Pho 93" and refurbished this nice restaurant. What they offered is the utopia for Hong Kong people to cure their homesickness. Hugh varieties of BBQ meat just like I am sitting in a local restaurant and have my dinner in Hong Kong. Well done!
After weaving through the corridors of Market Square, we arrived at the hidden gem of Little Hong Kong. We were welcomes immediately. The menu provided variety whilst at a reasonable price. My friend and I had the BBQ special meal which was only ~$10. Meals came very quickly (5-10 minutes) and the portions were generous. Meal was well balanced and very fulfilling. Would definitely recommend as it tastes much better than the other flashier restaurants of Market Square whilst at a cheaper price.
Fast friendly service delicious food the first time at this restaurant with so many Asian restaurants to choose from we took a chance and it paid off we’ll be back for sure
@gordans girl GSaeed707gSaeed707Haven’t Saeed707been there for some time now
Only rushed in for a quick tack away order of the special fried rice last Wednesday night as a side serve to help mum and dad out.
Also trying to introduce the Octogenarians into other foods rather than traditional Anglo- Saxon foods.
They loved it!!
I added more soy sauces etc but for them with there blemished palate it was sumptuous!
Very reasonably priced bought two very large containers and to me was quiet cheap compared to some places which are half as good
The rice was actually fried not coloured which was lovely good fillings prompt order to delivery time
Will return for more in-depth meal next timeGordons Girl
Hidden away by the major renovations occurring at market square lies this unassuming Chinese restaurant with friendly service and (mostly) good value, tasty food.
We are weekly regulars at kingsfood 30m around the corner - but the smell of bleach while they mop floors around your feet at 8:15pmwhile you try to eat, and the constant loud scraping of chairs as they stack them up on tables around you, and insist you get up to pay (cash only in evenings) during your meal is starting to wear thin... so we decided to try Little Hong Kong.
It's a long thin restaurant so it can feel a bit cramped... and some of the seats are wooden boxes rather than chairs... the kitchen is open and clean and you can watch what goes on - I like that.
The staff were all very friendly. The service was efficient and our food served quickly.
The byo wine - they wanted $3pp to drink from a glass I suspect cost less than that... no ice bucket - but they were happy to let us drink from waxed paper cups for free - and so were we!
We ordered the salt and pepper calamari and the salt and pepper whitebait to share as entree. The prices are very good... about 35% cheaper than kingsfood for same dishes - and same big serving size. The quality was excellent - we really enjoyed these dishes.
For main course we ordered a BBQ platter to share.... and steamed rice for 2.
We had high hopes as the roast meats hanging looked Devine..... and now you can get a half soy chicken here for $10 - we ordered soy chicken and BBQ pork.
The soy chicken came out as a 1/4 bird, and a very small portion of roughly chopped up pork fillet - smothered in a sickly sweet plum sauce... on a big plate, for $20. There was a lot of plate, not much meat... The BBQ pork was terrible - not slices - but sort of diced up rough bits and overpowered by the unpleasant plum sauce.
The soy chicken was more like poached chicken - no soy flavor - and sadly undercooked with blood in it...
The mixed roast platter was poor value for money, and unpleasant to eat.
The rice was hot and fresh when it come out - but sadly it comes out in small individual bowls that get cold - rather than the standard rice bucket..
We will try this place again due to warm welcome, lovely service and great first 2 dishes - but we were really disappointed at the quality and value of the roast meats.
They never mopped around with breath taking bleach - nor loudly stacked chairs around us - it was lovely to finish not feeling awkward or rushed... and can pay using cash or card...
This is one of my favourites when it comes to roast duck and dried noodles. Simple dish done well. Look the service is average as its about high turnover and the place itself could be a bit nicer but the food is consistently good. Great , great value for money.
Great restaurant for a hearty Asian feed. We have eaten here numerous times and have never been disappointed. Meal proportions are very generous and food is fresh and flavoursome. We ordered the BBQ pork with Crispy Pork Ho Fun Soup, BBQ pork and Crispy Pork with Dry Noodles and the Blackpepper Stir-Fry Seafood Udon. Yum!
Large portions! Good value. Absolutely loved the fried rice and roast pork. Deep fried tofu was average but serving size was big. 12 bucks for the fried rice which could easily serve 3 of me (my stomach capacity is small). Loved the sauces available, especially the chilli with garlic and lime. Absolutely delicious!
Venue is a bit tight though, so definitely not a place to hang out for long.
It's not hard to find this place. It has a big sign. I ordered bbq meal. You can choose what types of side dishes that you want. I chose bbq pork and crispy pork belly with noodle. I asked the staff whether the noodle was cooked with special sauce. She told me that it was cooked with only soy sauce and oyster sauce. However, it turned out that the noodle tasted good for me. I really liked the taste. It's not too heavy yet not too bland. The bbq pork was abit hard but it was ok for me. The noodle came fast and in a large size. Ah, forgot to mention it, the chili oil was good as well (I dont know the name but it was like chili with oil).
Really yummy & cheap! I had the 2 meats with pork and duck and the duck was so juicy and beautiful. My partner enjoyed the calamari dish, large portion. Very yum!
Great tasting food especially the BBQ pork. Not a very spacious environment but the food is delusions with generous servings. Food takes about 5mins to prepare and 10 during peak hours.
Great food, usually come here late at night and get 3 meats and rice...
Decided Saturday night to get the big plate of 3 meats cost $26.50 (Taiwanese next door is 6 dollars cheaper) but was definitely not worth it the duck was like maybe 5 pieces and it was pretty much just bone, pork belly and BBQ was beautiful though.
Noticed over the last few months price has been sneaking up but the meals getting smaller but usually the taste is excellent.
For a good night its well worth coming here..
Personally i really enjoy having their duck, bbq pork and pork belly with rice!! The most simple, typical dishes found in HK, the food variety makes me feel homesick. Lovely place for food, but staff service could be better if you asked me.
Not the best food around but it is great value for money, with large portion sizes, unlimited condiments (cut chilli, chilli oil, ginger, garlic etc) and flexibility with ordering. I've had their roast duck, crispy pork belly and a mixed vegetable soup dish.
The service was quick and the food was hot and decent. The roast duck was okay, but for flavour and texture there are better places in Market Square. The pork was better but again you can get better in Market Square if you're willing to pay a little more.
The vegetable soup was hot and fresh with nice crisp vegetables. It had a simple flavour which was just right at the time.
Every single time I've visited Market Square I've seen that this place is packed so I really wanted to give it a try, thinking their food must be amazing. The restaurant itself was a little old and dingy, but it seemed to look quite clean and the staff were friendly and our meals came out quickly. I got the two selection barbecue meal with roast duck and crispy pork belly. The value for money here is great, the portion size was big and as someone who thinks you can never have enough chilli and vinegar, the condiments section was a bonus! The crispy skin pork I had was good, but the duck was a bit overcooked, the meat was a little dry and the skin was oily but wasn't very crispy, but the flavour was there. It certainly wasn't bad food, but I have definitely had better roast duck nearby.
One of our personal favourite haunt whenever there's an Asian food crave. The portion are huge and 1 platter of two combination meat and 1 serving of tossed noodle are great for sharing between 2 person. The meat are fatty and juicy, beautifully bbq to perfection.
Good BBQ pork and rice, basic service but that's to be expected - after all, it's what you'd get in Hong Kong!

Delicious roast. I love their wanton and roast. And probably, the only reason why I will be heading back here. Their dried noodles are delicious and chewy. Plus, I love how I can always top up the accompanying condiments. While their service is somewhat not at par with what they can offer, I will just say that at the moment, their roasts are making me happy.
Nice food n excellent staff services. Standards of service, delicious bbq meals.Recognition and appreciation of the value. In particular, is especially worthy of praise, a better impression waitress ....ally...Thanks ....your helpful..
Love it for a cheap meal. Generally get take out, food is prepared quickly, always tasty and so cheap for what you get. Tried many different things and never disappointed, don't go expecting fine dining but makes for a great inexpensive night out with friends or takeaway for a cosy night in
Atmosphere: Nice and cosy place. Could be a little packed where tables are situated quite closely to each other when shop is full.
Food: Huge portions and reasonably priced. Could be a tad salty (too much MSG). Loved the roast duck, bbq pork and roast pork. I would recommend the combination dry noodle.
Service: Good and helpful with our needs.
Price: Economical
Rating: 7.5/10
Visiting Brisbane and decided to give this place a try. The beef hor fun noodles were nice as well as the duck rice but the won ton noodles a little disappointing. The roasted meat looked delicious so I'll be back next time I'm in Brisbane.
Good feed. Always nice food and it cheap and for that reason I can ignore the bad service
As others have mentioned you don't go here for good service, infact it's probably the worst service you will get in Brisbane. I've been here numerous times, and the food is always good. Servings are huge!!
Fabulous. Cute little place. Pretty decor. Food was served fast, hot and with a friendly smile. Good for casual outings with friends. Delicious and cheap. Who could ask for more?
Good food, bad service. I have come here many times and people should know that you don't ever go expecting good service. You're there for the food. We always order the BBQ mix, crispy pork belly and roast duck with a serving of rice. It's only $19 to feed two and we are very satisfied every time. A wide range of condiments you can choose from and help yourself to. I recommend this if you just want to have a good feed,
Yummy for my tummy. My fave so far in chinatown sunnybank...very generous portions, delicious authentic food, not greasy and oily like some Asian food...the greens are great, all the duck dishes, mmm the pork belly mmmm thumbs up for sure. Oh and gotta love the paper cups they give you to drink wine out of...laughs you know you're in chinatown!
Huge portions!. Went to Little Hong Kong last week with 2 other friends. The portions were huge! and by huge, I mean 2X bigger than my face! I had the beef brisket and tendon noodle soup, my friends had the dry beef brisket noodles and fish vermicelli soup. I really enjoyed my dish; the broth was flavorful and the beef was tender. According to my friends, the dry beef noodles were good and had a lovely gravy but the fish vermicelli soup tasted bland. So i suppose it's a hit and miss with some dishes. But the huge-sized portion for ten dollars is defo value for your money! I couldn't finish my noodles btw, and i'm a BIG-eater!
One of my favourites. This place has great food, quick services & is a clearly popular with the local's. No efpos, cash only.
Enjoyable. Good, clean, no fuss Hong Kong style food. This place serves similar food to it's sister restaurant Little Singapore however more focused on the cuisine of China/Hong Kong. Everything here is very affordable with generous serving sizes. I like the mixed BBQ on rice, or the Duck on dry noodle.
Love this place, have been going to Little Hong Kong for a couple of years. Food is cheap ( around $12 for a large plate of food) I ususally get the BBQ mix with dry Noodles ( I get the duck & pork) yummy!!!.
Little Hong Kong in Sunnybank offers BBQ dishes, congee and noodles. Always busy most nights, the TRIBE only goes during the off peak days (Monday & Tuesday). Our favorite table is outside, against the newsagency wall as this spot has more space for Mr. Adventurous to move around. I swear my little boy doesn’t sit still for a minute, if he ever did, I get worried that he might be ill or picking something disgusting. We did eat inside Little Hong Kong twice but it’s too cramp for us, I don’t know how they manage to serve hot congee and soup without spilling it over patron’s heads. I love the cooking shows in their LCD monitors, how I wish I could understand the language.

..on looking around at other tables we could see what was the standout favourites & that confirmed our decision. rose wine chicken w soy..
Hadn’t been here in years but went back and thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Delicious and efficient Cantonese cuisine. Loved it all!
Last week we ordered the Roast Duck and Roast Pork for dinner. My Mum and I visit again for lunch and we order Roast Duck and Soup Noodles (Egg). The freshly roasted quarter Duck is tender and delicious while the noodles are al dente. A very enjoyable meal!
Good authentic food with large portions and well priced. Can't go wrong if you're in Market Square.
Loved all the dishes we ordered! Was too much for two person but takeaway the leftovers for lunch the next day and they still tasted amazing!
Place is always busy but customer service is always on par. Love their soft shell crab bao. Chef is accommodating to unusual requests.
Little Hong Kong provides a very authentic HK cuisine and dishes. Their food comes in big portion sizes, so I was more than happy to take home leftovers. I highly recommend trying their crispy shredded beef (super delicious).
• peking duck
• crispy shredded beef
• seafood chow mein

Beautiful staff. Fast service, Even tho I had to wait almost 30mins for my partner to find a park with separate cars. Before ordering!
The staff were so compensating and understood! That I took up there table!
Great service, highly recommended. Awesome food. Definitely be back again 😁😁
