Was at the QUT Campus a few weeks back & decided to try out Artisan's in the yard. Enjoyed a bold flat white with surprisingly good strength . Have not had the Humanity blend before was very enjoyable
Artisan's on the Yard - Garden's Point, Brisbane. Centralised around the northern end of the university campus and at the cross-section of four different buildings, Artisian's on the Yard is one of the main places to go to for something to eat. Open-aired and not serving anything too fancy, it is the ideal cafe with the right location in mind; not too far from the botanic gardens plus it is fairly quiet. Before class and with few coffee places on the way open, this was the best option and was pretty close - simply got a coffee and sweet and it was not bad.
The service is amiable and does what it needs to do. There is the number system but since I took a Keepcup I seemed not to get one. Again, it was the closing minutes of business for that day so maybe it was easy to manage.
Getting a double cappuccino and lamington, I was on my way to class. Both of these were good for a bit of a fuel up before a night class - they did their job. The cappuccino was smoother and had a milder flavour than I usually am used to drinking. Also, the lamington was pretty good - there is none of the odd & unique after-taste assoicated with the store bought variety. Though it could have had a bit more of the chocolate coating on it.
Regardless, this was good enough for a bit of pre-lecture fuel and seems worthy of quicking social meetings with some wholesome fare for students studying at the campus.
Nachos were so good. Bit pricey though.
