Tasty, great service , they made is chilli naan that wasn't on the menu and it was the best naan ever.
Lovely rogan josh . Highly recommended
Amazing stuff. I moved to the neighbourhood 18 months ago and was nervous because the restaurant was so new. The food is beautiful. Really rich flavours and they have never stuffed up an order. The staff are always really pleasant.
It's a shame I live so close because the place is so nice inside I'd'd love to dine in some time.
One of Brisbane's Best Indian Restaurants. We were introduced to Hum Tum Indian because they had a Living Social voucher. I'm so glad I got two vouchers! It was excellent value - entrée, mains (with Rice and Naan) and desert for each person. The food was exquisite, the ambience was very nice and the service was good (although there a few times we had to try a bit harder to catch the waitress' attention).
I was very impressed by the fact that even though we were using vouchers, they served us each a shot glass of lassi and papadums (which was not part of the voucher deal, but I'm guessing this is what they do for regular guests).
If you go, you MUST try the rose lassi because it even has a hint of sandalwood (I have no idea how they do this). This has to be the best lassi although my children like the mango lassi better.
The other thing I really liked was they waitresses were empowered by managed to let us change our drinks from beer and wine to lassie (which you'd think is what everyone else who offers vouchers, but are a lot less flexible where soft drink is the only other option if we don't want beer or wine).
Finally the review of the food.... The food was exceptional. There was nothing that we had on both visits that we did not like. The naans were fantastic and it was nice that there was one per person.
There was a lot of tasty food and if the idea was to form a good impression, they did just that. We'll definitely be back and bringing guests/ visitors. I'm just so happy because I live about 10 mins away and I've found an Indian restaurant that I really like (both the food and how they do business).
The negative reviewers appear to be fake reviews and trying to reduce Hum Tum's Urbanspoon rating. They have only rated Hum Tum (and no other restaurant - I wonder which restaurant they work for) and their review of their experience is so completely opposite to everyone else's. I guess haters will be haters... but know this... cheaters never prosper.
Tried the restaurant out with a living social voucher.
Food is magnificent,it's the first Indian place that I've dined at that does not ask you how hot you want your curry and cooks it as it should be.
Portions were reasonable even at their full price.
Service was courteous and welcoming.
The food does take quite a while though. We were the only diners and there was quite a wait.
But I will go back for the taste, just for takeaways.
There's been some reasonable Indian around this area before, but this takes it to the next level. Amazing flavours, good pricing and a great menu. My wife loves the extensive vego options and I love everything else!
Fabulous!. My family have been huge fans of Indian food since I can remember, and we have our select favourite restaurants and takeaways around town. Well, Hum Tum will join our list of top notch Indian dining.
Lovely setting and decor, and fantastic food! We ordered a Lamb Biryani, Butter Chicken & Beef Madras. I have usually been more of a Butter Chicken fan, but this Beef Madras is sensational, and will now be something I will order regularly. It comes as a mild to medium curry, and it is just right! Spicy, but not too hot and overpowering. You can taste all the elements! Delicious!
Service is attentive, and the Manager comes to see how you're going as well.
So, we will be back! So good to have a fabulous Indian restaurant that is local, where we don't have to trek to far.
Good suburban option. We enjoyed the 3 course banquet option. It arrived quickly, tasted great and was easily enough for the two of us. The restaurant is clean, well appointed and the staff were very attentive. We will be back.
Me and my partner ordered the 4 course banquet..and what can i say other than YUM!! At the start i wasnt so sure, as it was a fair noisy in there and when making our order it was very hard to communicate with the waitress but after that, minus waiting 40mins for the entree it was great. The manager checked on us regularly and well the food was outstanding!! Defs worth the wait and we will be back
Delicious - try it!. Last night my partner and I got takeaway from Hum Tum for the first time. I had the vegetarian dish Diwane Handi, which I'd never heard of, but absolutely loved! My partner had the Lamb Korma which he said was the best he'd eaten - and we've eaten alot of Indian food! The staff were very polite and friendly and the restaurant itself was lovely - we will dine in next time!
Excellent food and service. My partner and I ate at Hum Tum last night and really enjoyed our meal. We sat in the open upstairs area which was really lovely and private. We had pakoras, kebabs, a vindaloo, and a biryani and everything was delicious. Probably the best naan bread we've ever had as well. Also, everything is presented really well on nice metal plates and bowls and the staff were very friendly with good service. The place is licenced too, which is fantastic. It will probably become our regular indian takeaway venue!
Hum Tum. This is some of the best Indian food I've had in a long time, beautiful depth of flavour in all the dishes we tried. The service was wonderful, we were greeted with complimentary pappadoms and a mini mango lassi each which was very nice. Definitely will be returning regularly, absolutely delicious
The staff were very friendly they took the time to recommend a dish and it was great. Very nice new restaurant.
Delicious!. This was the best indian food i have had! generous portions, beautiful atmosphere inside the restaurant, delicious menu, friendly staff, couldn't have asked for more!
we will be back: over and over, and over and over!
Yumm. Very impressed. Love the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Best indian ever!
Amazing!. Got takeaway. Lovely as. The best indian i have had in years.
Medium hot is actually medium hot and not the wussy mild that most restaurants serve up. Was as tasty as. Chicken Aldara I think it was and the Coconut curry starting with an m..
Will be back. and Regularly.
Hum Tum in my Tum!. Enjoyed a beautiful dinner at Hum Tum and can honestly say that it was one of the best authentic Indian places around in Brisbane, and I've been to India! We enjoyed tender butter chicken which was cooked perfectly and garlic and cheese Naan. The friendly and accommodating staff also offered us complimentary papadams and a taster of a devine mango puree smoothie drink which we ended up purchasing also. The decor is modern and classy and staff very welcoming, friendly and authentic. 10/10
Best Indian food in Brisbane! Great tasting food! The owners and chefs are really welcoming. Will be going back regularly. Best of all Great Value For Money!!!!!!
Awsome Indian Food!!. Just had to try this local Indian Restaurant once we noticed it had opened. Besides the very modern looking decor and welcoming staff the food was just fantastic! Sent our regards and compliments to the Chef and advised we would be back pretty soon and that we would highly recommend the establishment to all our friends.
Staff were very friendly and owners explained what some things were in detail. Very reasonable prices and food was great. Unfortunately, not being used to authentic Indian, I had a bit of a surprise on how spicy it actually was but it was defiantly a good surprise. Will be coming back here, but next time I won't order the spiciest thing on the menu.
Fantastic. Great food, friendly and helpful staff and prices are very reasonable!! Restaurant is always clean and tidy. Recommend this to anyone who loves Indian cuisine :)
This is the real deal. Friendly staff. Excellent breadth of menu. Wonderful decor. Most important of all: the most mouth watering Indian food this side of Mumbai! This is the second time I have been here and it has been packed to the rafters both times. Well worth a visit to this great little suburban restaurant.
Friendly staff and many deals available across the week. Lots of menu options - particularly drinks, entrees and desserts. Curries and naan are delicious! A nice restaurant atmosphere, it's so more than a takeaway joint!
