Great food, a bit overpriced but was happy with everything else đź‘Ś Waitress was very nice and got us what we wanted fairly quickly without any issues
The Ming Inn looks like the restaurant time forgot, and not in a good way. I don't think the decor has been changed since the day the place opened back in the 80's. I couldn't recommend this place as an eat in restaurant, so we got takeaway. We ordered the boneless lemon chicken, salt & pepper calamari, and pork ribs in plum sauce. After we placed our order we walked across the road to get some drinks from the bottle shop which took about 10 minutes then when we got back to the restaurant we waited about another 5 minutes before our number was called, so I thought 15 minutes wait was alright. When we got home and tried the food we were very pleasantly surprised to find the the calamari was light, crisp and tender, the chicken and pork both tasted fresh and they weren't sickly sweet which was great. The food is definitely still old school Australian/Chinese but it was a nice surprise to find it wasn't heavy battered or sickly sweet. We would order takeaway from Ming Inn again đź‘Ť
Food was fresh, came out super fast, and not greasy like some chinese can be.Â
The sweet and sour pork was pretty tasty, the honey chicken was good quality. Not a huge fan of the special fried rice, though I did ask for it without seafood, so that may explain why it was a bit bland.Â
Overall, there are better Chinese restaurants in Brisbane, but this holds up pretty strong for Takeaway places in this local area.
