I come into the public bar most weeks for the lunch special. In the last two years I've had no problem with the food, the staff are always friendly.
Love the Ox's deals, especially the Wednesday night special getting the second meal for $10.00.
The first time I went there I had the Oxley hotel signature grill which was fantastic. Delicious and the portion was huge. It is a dear price to pay for for eating in a pub, $39.99. But I would definitely grab a friend to go back there on another Wednesday.
Yet, when I went there a different night and ordered fusion fish of the day that was a different story. The marriage between a nicely cooked barramundi and some boy choy seem okay. But adding tomato chutney in, that is really "three's a crowd". I have to give the dish some credits though. They were all cooked very nicely individually.
Bruachetta is hard to screw up, but the Turkish bread tasted old. It isn't something I would order it there again.
Simple, friendly, fast and delicious. Fish is fantastic. Calamari great!
Any fish we had at the Ox was AWESOME. Their calamari antipasti is delicate, right balance of salt & pepper - simply great! Quick, friendly service.
Been here a few times and not disappointed. Seated relativity fast ordered meals and came out fast and were happy with our meals be here again soon.
Pretty good quality food here, but bare in mind you are paying for it. Not the cheapest hotel restaurant in Brisbane. Quality steK and served pretty quick too. Kids meals nice as well.
Great place to kick back for a bevvie and tucker with mates. Waiters are a bit slow at seating at the restaurant side but drinks are fairly priced. Decent pub food.
Fantastic meal... lovely steak wrapped in slice of bacon served with FRESH vegetables. Kids meal ok and came with free soft drink. One of the better hotels/taverns we'''ve eaten at.
Good Family Food. Sunday night children eat free so this was a unexpected bonus. Wagyu steak for me and my significant other - nice steak but a tad overdone. Children's meals were a fantastic size for 4-6 year old but would not be enough for older children. Games room adjacent to bistro but didn't really keep the chidren entertained for long. Nice clean toilets and the atmosphere was friendly and very family orientated. Would definitely go again - Sunday through to Wednesday Kids Eat Free!!!
The service was good but could have been a little more attentive but overall great dining experience. The food was well presented and absolutely delicious. I have been there before and I have never had an issue with the quality or th portions of food reasonably priced but definitely worth it. I have no issue recommending The Ox
Quiet & pleasant environment.
The barramundi was to die for, so fresh & seriously the best meal I've eaten out in a long time.
Staff were friendly & service was great.
An excellent lunch out for our family catch-up.

I must say Kimberly is great! Customer Service is 5 star. She's got the best of sense of humour! I'm ver happy with Steak Sandwich. My husband ordered Beef Brisket which Kimberly recommend and it was so Yummy! Beef was cooked to perfection! I asked Kimberly when she's working again and will come back again.
The Ox is my favourite restaurant.The food is always cooked to perfection.Thank you Chefs.The staff are respectful,hard working and well mannered.I eat here every week and it is always a joy.Tanya is the hostess with the mostess.I recommend you visit this wonderful place.
Service was rubbish, waited over an hour for food because they prioritise UberEats orders. Got a refund and left. Will never return and don’t recommend at all. No compensation at all. Appalling management.
Edit: contacted the manager and he sorted us out with a voucher for our dinner. Great that they made an effort to make amends. Cheers to Patrick for the service!
