Craved for a nice bowl of Lanzhou noodle so dropped in for a quick dinner. We always love the broad menu here offering different varieties of noodles and street food.
We ordered the Lanzhou beef ramen with thin noodle option and a bowl of ox offals rice noodle soup. In addition, we added the cold dishes of crystal salty duck and the slow-cooked beef as the entrees.
Both noodle soup were prepared under expectation with good portions and al dente noodles. Heroes should be the cold dishes; the duck meat and beef were so tenderized and tasteful. BIG TICKđź‘Ť

Delicious noodles and dumplings
We visited this restaurant specifically to try their hand-pulled biang biang noodles (youpo mian) and they were delicious. The noodles were freshly made and the sauce (we chose to get the sauce with beef) was delicious. The pork and prawn dumplings were delicious too. We weren't that excited about our cucumber salad though - it might have been a little bit past its best. The service was fast, the portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable!

Amazing food. Great serving sizes for the price.
The noodles are great - and here’s a hack, you can swap out the thick noodles for ramen (super long strands though). Flavours are awesome.
Favourite dish - Youpo Noodles (with ramen instead)
Noodles are pretty good. Their cold dishes are pretty good too.Â
Nice and cozy, recommend to those who love Chinese hand-made noodles.
I am from Xi'An China where hand-made noodles originate from. I love going to this place and I think I am addicted to one of their particular dish, dry noodles in garlic sauce. Noodle itself just tastes so authentic and reminds me of my hometown. I will highly recommend this place. Price is very cheap.
I was down at Runcorn Plaza a couple of months back and saw the massive breakfast queue... Coming back recently and much earlier in the morning there was a little more room available available in the dining room.
Atmosphere: clean and welcoming. There is the usual assortment of Chinese families and seniors.
Service: order and pay at the counter, then it is brought to your table. Breakfast menu attached: you will find it has quite a comprehensive selection of Chinese dishes from various regions.
Food: I choose the set meal B. My congee was clean in taste and could have been cooked an extra couple of hours. It had an ample amount of century egg but only one small sliver of pork.
With my congee I also chose pork buns. It contained a generous meatball inside as well as a delightfully fragrant wine based sauce. The pastry of the bun was fine, fluffy and lightly sweet.
I also ordered an extra fried doughnut (Yaou Jaa Kway). It was freshly cooked with a strong gluten structure inside.
Verdict: good value for money and resonable portion size. Delicious. Simple but well done.
End of the week catch up with some friends. Wanting something casual and filling we opted The Noodle Club, a fairly popular Chinese restaurant along the already highly competitive Runcorn Plaza. It was fairly busy that night. So busy in fact that I forgot to take a picture of the menu. Suffice to say it contained quite a few varieties of hand made noodles, in both soup and stir fried options along with rice dishes and sides. Ordering at the counter, they only take cash and we got a number before our food was delivered.
They’re delicious. Handmade and pulled, thick and long. They say they’re like a belt. A bloody delicious belt. They’re simply put with chilli, garlic, vinegar, soy and greens but you can also add beef if you want. I went without as I also ordered the pork steamed dumplings!. Turns out that Youpo noodles are actually what the peasants used to eat (lucky them) many, many years ago. They were a basic dish that grew in popularity.
THIS IS BREAKFAST HEAVEN!!!!!!!! All most everything here is traditional Chinese flavour! I love the beef noodle more that the lamb soup, but either will be a good try! Soy milk is best in the morning, but I can see what they used is the exactly same one sold in the Asian market.
I go here with Nanxi infrequently. It's in the Runcorn plaza shopping centre so parking is ample albeit hazardous.
The cooking is homestyle Northern Chinese and not really to my taste but is well received by my Chinese friends. Every person I've shown these photos is immensely interested as well as homesick, the taste is very authentic apparently. They do an extensive range of cold salad items, which I'm not a fan of but are also extremely popular judging from the huge amounts people buy.
I went here for hand pulled lamb noodles, they used a fatty cut of lamb that was smoky, greasy tender tastiness. It was a greasy dish for sure but surprisingly delicious. The noodles were all different sized and had a great chewiness to them. There was a lot of onion and capsicum slices there too but there was equally as much lamb!
Nanxi insisted I get the hot and sour beef soup. A slightly medicinal flavour with lots of shredded bits that I couldn't identify. I would say beef, black cloud fungus and other bits. I had a few tablespoons and stopped, mostly as I was very full eating other things for breakfast.
We got a egg and green onion pancake plus a pork bun each. The egg pancake was light and flakey, Ive not had something like that for breakfast before so I've got no option on it. The pork buns were very large! A thin layer of dough and a large disc of juicy minced pork with a strong ginger flavour. Almost too juicy! Beware the splatter!
I got a marinated egg too. No grey ring, solid soy flavour, would get again!
The real high light for me was the freshly made you tiao! We were told there was a 15-20 minute wait cause of how many orders there were at 7am on a Saturday morning! The line never got less than 8 people queueing, plus people taking home giant cardboard boxes of them!
They were so good! Light, despite their oil frying, airy, chewy and huge to boot! The size of my forearm aka a woman's size 9!!! I slowly picked at my you tiao and took the second half home. My mum found it and she said it was delicious too, high praise!
All in all, go for the you tiao, everything else is average for me but your mileage may vary if you're a homesick Chinese person.
The noodle club serves a variety of ice and noodle dishes. We arrived pretty late on a Saturday and it wasn't that busy so service was pretty fast. The customer service was alright but nothing amazing. If you speak Chinese you may get better service. The Lanzhou beef noodle soup has great aroma and taste, the thin beef slices were maybe a bit old and chewy. If you choose wide noodle just be aware it's 1 really long noodle. Pork belly rice was nice but maybe a bit too much rice. The beef brisket with potatoes and knife cut noodles was good. All the dishes we ordered were good but nothing amazing. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and think it's worth trying
Really good Chinese noodle place. The lady serving us is really friendly and helpful. Not like what other reviews said at all. I really love all the food we ordered. Yum yum yum! Highly recommend!!
Now that was delicious! 🤤
Service was friendly and the noodles were amazing! So yummy. Definitely going back again soon.
Big portions, good prices and tasty dishes
Went there at friends suggestion. Square handmaid fat noodles seafood version was so nice. Even my daughter finished her portion. Nice & firm, great sauce.
Authentic Chinese food, not your normal Australian Chinese restaurant. Fried rice was dish of the day, full of wok hei (wok flavor), which is essential for the dish.
I honestly don't mind this place. Meat is sometimes a bit tough, but letting it soak helps.
Flavour is a bit light, but some may prefer that as I think this place sits more in the "I would come here for my everyday eat" sort of position.
Fast service.
