Review Hakataya Ramen Eight Mile Plains - Brisbane

Neil Parale
Been going to Hakataya for years. The warrigal square branch is the best. While new Ramen joints have opened. Hakatya is still as good as all of them. So consistent.

This is my favourite restaurant. I've even come here on Christmas before 😅 the best ramen and even better service. The broth is so delicious and the gyōzas are always on point! They're all so friendly, I even get recognised when I'm there as I'm there quite a bit! Just the best place to eat, and the best store of their chain as well. So lovely 😊 I even have an album of some times over been there

Wish it was owned by Japanese though!, Chinese owners very lazy. very dirty counters. Lucky not all ramen shops are owned by Chinese and still ran by the Japanese original owner, thankfully!

Haha. Decked out my ramen today. Check it out!!! Their gyoza is amazing also. But I think my budget went towards the extra meat today.

It's nice. Just same as a Japan's ramen smell and taste. It could be little bit smelly but it's not bad , I think that's why I said this is original style of ramen.

I really really like all kinds of hakataya ramen but i never ever enter when chubby japanese man serve. Terrible customer service.

I ordered the value meal for takeaway which includes the Chashu ramen(with lots if meat) ,Kaedama(free noodle) and a can of drink. when I get home to open the box, it only has two chashu which is same as normal noodle and it has so small quantity of noodles. I understand only one staff was doing everything thay includes taking orders, cooking, serving, cleaning tables. But if you cannot help providing right foods ordered and handling all of things, you better close the shop rather than running your business with one person.

Yummy noodles as usual, good and friendly staff. Had charshiu men, which was great and soft pork. Plenty of seating and easy to park as well. Although during dinner and weekend this place busy.

We visited Hakataya Ramen on 2/3/20 to take advantage of some free birthday ramen. The venue was fairly quiet at the time with only two other tables. We ordered a Nagahama and a bowl of Miso spicy ramen. The ramen was typical with a good consistency to the noodles, not too soft, not too hard and not too chewy.

Hakataya ramen was great back when it first opened with a steady consistency to the menu and quality. Unfortunately Hakataya loses point for lack of innovation given the rise in competition offering additional sides such as soy egg and the seemingly regular modest increase in cost.

I was very hungry after a conference in Eight Mile Plains so rushed to the nearest shopping centre for dinner on Monday night.
Dropped in this eatery and it was just off the peak. Ordered a spicy Raman with extra noodles and the proficient service was much appreciated.
Maybe I was too hungry, I finished the meal within five minutes and stepped out the shop with full stomach. I was absolutely satisfied. 👍

Last visit: Jul 11,2015 Rating 3.5/5

Phuong Tran and I visit for a light dinner and we are greeted by a cheerful waitress. We ask for a Charsiu-Men and a Miso Spicy-Men. Surprisingly, our Ramen meals are ready in 2 minutes. Wonderful!

PT enjoys the tasty Pork broth of her Miso Spicy-Men. Overall an excellent meal which rates 4.5! Love the friendly super fast service here. Well done Guys!

Simplicity is the key and have always come back for more especially during winter time.

The gyozas are good too and the takana is the best that I have tasted in Brisbane

Out of all the Hakataya franchises, this is by far the best one and always consistent with the quality of food. The staff here work tirelessly and they're usually the same people.
Just wish they had eggs!

Nice simple noodle with tasty stock.
Pretty good value, 2nd bowl of noodle is free.
Can be a bit frustrating waiting to be served when they are busy.

Cold winter morning...need something soupy to keep warm. With that in mind I made my way to Hakataya. The successful ramen chain can be found throughout Gold Coast and Brisbane specializing in Hakata style ramen (rich, milky, pork-bone broth with thin, non-curly and resilient noodles). I was there week day lunch and ordered their signature Nagahama Ramen.

The ramen showed up around 10min with two thin cuts of char siu pork, thin noodles and spring onion to garnish. The broth was perfectly seasoned and tasted very porky with hints of seafood. The char siu pork although nice and soft, presents an unappetising strong porky "stink". The noodles were cooked to perfection with satisfying chewiness. As an overall package from a taste point of view, lacks character and depth of flavour. 3.5/5

Hint: Free additional noodle available on request.

Usually I leave Hakataya Ramen full and with a smile on my face. Just went and tried to get my free birthday ramen but left with the most stupid thing I've ever seen in my life. I went up to the staff lady (Eight Mile Plains store, Wednesday night shift, approx 8:35) where I presented my ID. She gave me a suspicious look and asked "Today's your birthday?" I simply replied with a yes. After looking at my ID I was told that I could not redeem my ramen simply because the ID did not say that the date was my date of birth and was only the date. What else could have the date possibly meant? "15/2/2002" and was rejected. Been to this place many times and the customer service is still garbage. What a joke.

Much easier to get into than Sunnybank. More, easier parking. Bigger, roomier restaurant. Broth is just the same, my favourite karaka-men, always awesome. Still wish they had eggs though.

Great ramen, I always get the miso spicy men with extra pork and extra noodles. Ramen is always consistently good, it always tastes just as good as the last time you go. Quick service and a tasty cheap take away. Alway leave there really full! Love how the extra noodles are free as well!

Been to most of the Hakataya's around Brisbane and they all are very consistent in flavours, noodles and service. Thumbs up to my local Eight Mile Plains Hakataya!

Hakataya Ramen is a reasonable ramen shop. The broth is refined, the noodles are reasonable and the char sui is not bad.

What I do find strange is that in the evenings you can't BYO. Forgive me for saying this but beer and ramen noodle soup together is a birth right all of it's own!

All in all, decent and solid for a quick meal.

Nice place for ramen in a suburban area. Shop has modern japanese fit out. Love the noodles great depth of flavour in broth. Great overall! Will definitely come back again.

This is like the third or fourth Hakataya ramen in Brisbane. It is not as busy as the other outlets but the quality and taste is the same.

I usually ordered the spicy miso soup base and the fried dumplings.

Free ramen on your birthday. Yassssssss. Only number 4 (spicy miso ramen) tastes good. Tried out the other ones, and naaah. If I had tried the other ones before number 4, I probably wouldn't return. And also, free extra noodles. Yas.

Love the Karaka Ramen the explosion of spices is the perfect companion if you ever have a cold or flu or simply a pleasant meal on a Winters day. Haven't had any of their other meals but serving portion is perfect thus far. A quirky place for a quick meal with gpod customer service. Recommend for a no fuss takeaway or eat.

If you're after great ramen, just like they serve in Japan... this isn't the place. Bland, tasteless and odd. As an added bonus, I got food poisoning that lasted for two days. Do NOT go here.

Food might be nice (I'm assuming from other Hakataya places I've been to), but service wise was horrific. My friends had gotten there and had grabbed a table and there was no one else in line, then when they went to order another group came and said they were waiting first. My friends and our kids were booted out in preference to the newcomers. Apparently not the first time my friends have been hassled to move after sitting down to eat. Much better service at Cha Kee which promptly sat us down with friendly staff.

Delicious broth. I like how the shop had booths, unlike their Sunnybank store. The quality is always great. The only negative is staff regularly take two minutes to serve you whilst your waiting there. Would visit again

The male cook (or manager) is so unfriendly.

On this public holiday, i am enjoying delicious Japanese Ramen while all the Australian restaurants had a day off... or stayed open and charged a surcharge on their already inflated prices. I would like to thank the Japanese staff member who gave up her seat for me in this very busy noodle bar

Amazing ramen and great service!

Dissapointing. Twice now I have ordered take away with extra pork and have not recieved it. Very disappointing and no phone call made any difference

Specialising in Tonkotsu ramen, this Japanese ramen franchise is one of the better ramen restaurants in Brisbane. Just like its Japanese predecessor, it features a wooden bar and high chairs so that you can see the chefs cook your ramen. Customers slurping down delicious ramen.
