Review Taste Of Pakistan - Brisbane

Delicious food, good service and appropriate portion size. Lively and cheesy, pakistani art style ambiance. Prices are a bit higher than Sydney though. We enjoyed our dinner. We were a group if 18 people including kids and we walked in but they accommodated us well. Will definitely go there again

I got the mixed grill and a rice for just under $30. The food was ok, but it just kind of all melded into the same sort of flavour. It needed some more sauces that are appropriate to the different meats. I usually go across the road from these guys for the mixed grill, and it runs rings around this one. Not even the side salad had an ounce of love Olin it and the place was empty. Overall it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either.

Never been to Pakistan but I can feel their spices in this restaurant. The best Handi chicken in Brisbane.

Tried chicken biriani and goat nihari with butter nan. Food was delicious and amount was more than enough for one person. Hope it will be a good place to enjoy amazing food.

What a nice combination of flavour and taste. Nice surprise. Loved the level of spices in the food were. Will definitely go again. The staffs were really nice and helpful. We had to wait for a long time but the food served was amazing and was the worth the wait. As we went on eid day it was supposed to be busy. So we understand that. Highly recommended place for everyone.

Yummy food and very efficient and friendly staff. Must try desi food when visiting Brisbane.

Very delicious Pakistani food, naan breads and special chicken curry masala were great, the paneer curry was good too. Amazed with their customer service even though they had a party going indoor. The only let down were the starters, which were tasteless.

I visited BBQ tonight for Iftar. They had ample space inside and they do not have food, they asked us to wait for 30 minutes and at last moment they excuse with us

I had dinner here last year. I was disappointed that butter chicken (even though it is a traditional Indian dish) was not on the menu. Overall it was ok.

Food is gross. Ordered chicken grilled and lamb nihari. Food was utterly disappointed , the chicken had feathers and lamb nihari was way too salty. I had high hopes but all dashed to ground. I am never going to order again from this guys. Utter waste of money

Last year, I had been here with my friends. To be honest I didn't find the place very exciting by ambience and even by food. We have order chicken curry which was fine but veg curry was better. Also we ordered haleem which was not close to the original taste and flavours. However this review is about last year visit, hope they have improved.

It looked very quiet when we arrived there; only one dining in customer. We were looking for a since no staff was there. We looked through the kitchen with a loud “HELLO”. A girl came out without greeting or smile and brought us menus. We asked for some water, but we didn’t get any until we asked again after having place our order.

Our starter, pakoras blew us away. They were really nice, crisp and moist inside-the best pakoras so far! Then we had vegetarian kofta, chicken Karachi, cumin rice and garlic naans. The Karachi was quite nice but still average. Liked the fact that it’s spiciness was brought by fresh green chilli not red chilli powder. The kofta was disappointingly dry. We brought it back to the counter and asked for more gravy/curry, but it didnt make the curry better. The naans were undercooked, and we brought them to the staff when paying the bill. She did offer a replacements, but we didn’t want any.

Poor service and average food.

I had takeaway earlier this week. It's nice to find a place that makes a curry without using pre-made sauces. You can honestly taste the difference. I had the samosas which were different from others I've tried. I'm not sure if it's the Pakistani way but they certainly weren't crispy but the pastry was nice all the same and the inside was delicious.I had the chicken karahi for main. It was tasty and like I said, you can taste the additional work and love that goes into it. The only downside is that it was a little oily but I wasn't bothered and I reckon it'd work better with chicken thigh rather than the breast they used. No biggy. The prices for the sides are reasonable, much more so than some of their competitors. I think it was $2.50 for a large rice (maybe $4-$4.50 at other places), $2.50 for a naan (again, $4.50 other places) and $4 for two samosas which is reasonable.

Definitely worth a try.

I visited this restaurant when they first opened and the food/service was excellent, especially considering the price. I recently had two curries delivered that were probably the worst meals I've ever tried, both curries were so watery that they lacked any flavor other than the taste of black pepper. The goat curry had two pieces of meat and didn't seem to have any flavor at all. Not sure if this was a one off bad night or not, but very disappointing.

Although India and Pakistan are different countries, they are neighboring countries that share much in history and culture and so as their cuisines. Explored this Pakistan restaurant with Griupon deal last night. The deal includes the Seekh Kebab as entrée to share between two of us. Honestly, it was the first time that I had this type of kebab but the grilled blended minced beef was beautifully prepared with balanced herbs and spices. That was a good start of the dinner. Then next came with two mains, the beef korma & the butter chicken (both in medium hot) to go with the naan and rice and accompanied with extra two types of dips. It was the first time that I appreciated the chef uses the chicken breast because the textures was very soft. However, the beef was not bad too because they use the shin-beef that was well-cooked with nice texture. Both protein were prepared with just spot-on hotness of sauces that matched well with the naan and rice. Thanks for the very friendly hospitality from the lady who served us and she made us very nice mango lassi so do not forget to order one to try if you have meal there. Highly recommended.

I had dinner there tonight and the waitress was very unsure what she was talking about. She mentioned that she just started working there but she had no idea about the dishes and she was quite rude. I am a regular at this restaurant but I have previously dealt with another waitress and an gentleman which I didn’t see tonight. The food was great as usual but the service was poor..

Service and ambience was good. Decent size portions but the meat grade was tough. Curries were good but would recommend the kebabs over the curry dishes. The food was mild and lacks spice.

I wanted to try the Indian cousine, but the restaurant was closed and we decided to go in The tatse of Pakistan.

I must say ,it's a good restaurant. Ajmal, who manages this place is a nice and friendly. He would suggest you dishes as per your taste buds.

We ordered Tandoori chicken and it was good. Nicely marinated and tender. Quantity was good as they served it with spiced spinach.

We also had Biryani, which was a bit different but was really good. The mint chutney is fabulous.

I will go there again and I need to try Lamb Chapli Kebabs..

Note - The waitress isn't good and doesn't know anything about the dishes. I think they can simply hire someone who is more pleasant and has a bit of patience.

I took my family and two young boys to this restaurant. Initially i was worried as no one was at the front desk for 5 minutes but once we were seated the service was good but the food was excellent. One gentlemen in particular was very helpful and accommodating and the meal as stated as excellent for value and taste. My mother in law is Indian and is a fussy eater but she really enjoyed the food. The only negative is my two boys aged 4 and 6 couldn't eat much on the menu due to the spices but that's not the restaurants fault as I should have selected better options for them. If there is one negative the staff do look tired although they are helpful. thanks for a good night taste of pakistan.

We ordered a delivery so I can't comment on the restaurant but the food was decent enough. We tried the chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, haleem, biryani and channa masala as well as rice, naan and chappati.

Each dish was distinctly flavoured and the portion sizes were pretty reasonable. The only negative was that there wasn't a lot of meat and the pieces that were included were cut into big chunks. This made scooping it up with the bread a bit of a challenge. On the plus side the bread was great. The naans were chewy and tangy and the chappati tasted fresh.

Great to see a few less well known dishes on the menu as well. It's not everywhere you can order lamb trotters and goat.

So i randomly selected this restaurant as it had little online presence/reviews. (Was craving a curry but wanted pot luck).
After trying it out i was quite impressed at the freshness of the curry (chicken karahi) as well as the garlic nan.

The mango lassi was pretty refreshing too!
However, i asked for the more spicy option, and although the chef made it hot, i have had more hotter food. I guess Brisbanites are slight softies....

Nevertheless, the food was good as was the service. The female waitress definitely has great customer service skills and this was evident the way she was conversing with everyone.
The seating area was quite decent although not very large. Got quite crowded after 7pm.
Overall, for my first curry in Oz, this was a good lucky choice and i would definitely recommend it.

Owner cancelled few days before our booking due to commitment to another catering event, kindly
promised to make up for it with more discounts or complimentary offerings but did not follow up even though knowing when we had re-booked.
We were serviced by a female waitress (had worked there for 3months) who wasn't 100% sure about our deal details, it appears that the food items changed since I had purchased the group voucher deal and after checking with the manager they permitted for some items to be included in the deal (but the lassi was the same price as the soft drink).
At first the waitress was ready to take our drinks order but after the dispute with the food items, she asked if we could wait to order the drinks and food until after our friend arrives, whom we had already advised would be late. We asked why we had to wait, waitress reply "the drinks take a while to make"...wouldn't we want to order that earlier then!? "we have other customers"...what are we? What makes the others more important than us!? The waitress did apologise a couple of times during the night after those comments, realising what she had done. But over the course of the night, she forgot to bring a drink, extra napkins and side of chilli, lost her pen and pad so took a while to find to get our orders.
When our food came out, one of our 2 goat dishes was served so half of our table took most of the serving as we were sharing all the mains. When the rest of the mains came out, the waitress told us that these last 3 dishes actually contained the 2x goat mains and we had to return the one we had already mostly eaten! We asked 'why', she didn't know until another staff member advised what the dish was and confirmed it was part of our order. However, by then, only half the group got to eat most of the single main as we were incorrectly advised that it was the 2x goat dish!
The mango lassi just tasted like bland yoghurt - no hint of mango at all. The food was salty and ordinary, no distinct flavours from each other. The butter chicken was the nicest but not the best we've eaten.
Overall, would not recommend coming back even with a discount deal!

We went there last night for dinner. The food was very nice. Loved the Goat curry and the Rice and the Garlic Nan. The portions was generous and the waitress was efficient and very helpful.

Excellent, fresh and yummy food + attentive staff. One of our favourite 'go to' places when the fridge is looking a tad sad. A new Brisbane business worth supporting.
We had a coupon deal here too. Luckily the service seems to have improved since the previous reviewer, however there was no ice buckets for our BYO wine so they just provided us with a glass of ice & didn't charge corkage. The coupon deal was a for a feast for two & that is what we received. Not the best Pakistani food we have eaten, but quite passable at least I got my chilli hit & the prawn entree was quite delightful despite using chilli flakes ( I would have preferred fresh green chilli which was provided after I commented on that so thanks) Room for improvement, but great potential here (sorry about the quality of my pics it was that rosy lighting )

Not taste of Pakistan. Totally waste of money.
Service was very bad. Food was crape. Only thing I liked was yoghurt Raita.

Sorry big no from me

AVOID! We came here for a Groupon dinner deal last night ($79 for 6 ppl). Admittedly, the food was good and I can't fault the value of this Groupon deal as it was so cheap. The service however, was atrocious. The waiter was rude, tried to rip us off on the scoopon deal by charging us for items which was clearly and obviously stated was included free in the deal, was inattentive to the table, and kept forgetting to bring basic things like cutlery, glasses, water, barking orders at us without saying please, kept having to ask him to refill the tiny portion of rice for the table which he seemed annoyed about, etc. Considering there were only two tables with customers in the whole restaurant, I don't get how it is possible to get so many things wrong - I'd hate to imagine what it'd be like if it ever actually got busy (which I doubt it would). At one stage the chef came out, we made eye contact and I asked him if our table could have some cutlery (waitor brought out our food but forgot to bring out napkins & cutlery). He simply continued to look at me, and then simply walk back to the kitchen without saying anything and ignored my request, which admittedly was quite hilarious. Ambience was also bad with ugly decor, no atmosphere whatsoever, and music was so low you could not hear it. As a result, it was a really 'awkward' atmosphere due to the restaurant being so quiet and felt like our voices/conversation was echoing throughout the room. Even if I had the opportunity to use the fantastic value of the Groupon deal again, I would definitely not return as eating out is supposed to be an enjoyable experience to catch up with friends - and we were all very uncomfortable here.

A big NO to this place. We went to this place at 1:30 though place closes at 2 we were asked to come in evening. We went again at night this is when we got chance to taste food. We were served with samosa first and it was pathetic. A just boiled potato filling with almost no salt. After that we ordered main course 1 veg curry and 3 non veg curry. None of the curry was authentic. Butter chicken was the worst butter chicken I ever had. Chicken tikka masala was slightly better than butter chicken but again it was bland in taste. Goat curry was again not upto the mark. Vegetable korma was disgusting worse than butter chicken. Naan was the only good thing there but it doesn't matter as there was no good curry. If I die of hunger even than I won't visit this place. Trust me this not Taste of Pakistan. Pakistani cuisine is much much better than this.
