Review Sichuan Bang Bang - Brisbane

Great Sichuan cuisine! Sui mai and eggplant dishes were the best but others we had were tasty too. Portions were generous. Helpful and very friendly service, and uplifting vibe to tip the night out.

I went here with my wife when she was 40 weeks pregnant and ready to give birth at any time (spoiler alert - we had to wait another week and a half, Edith!). Anyway, the place looks great, but immediately there’s something odd about it. Half the restaurant is Italian. Hmmm. Ok. No, it’s not fusion and it doesn’t really mix. There are two menus and they are quite distinct. As we walked in there was a couple eating Chinese food while their kids picked at a cheese pizza. My eyeballs and brain were confused. So we order. We order dishes we have eaten before in places like Hong Kong. Perhaps the comparison is unfair, but if you are going to pride yourself on having good and real and honest and true food, then do so. To cut to the chase the food was ok and the prices were high. I would not go back as spending $100 for two people (without alcoholic drinks!) is bonkers to me.

This is my go-to Chinese restaurant when business takes me to Wilston, Brisbane. The environment is cozy and nice with friendly staff. This time I wasn't alone. My colleague and I ordered Crispy Duck with extra spice and Peking Duck Pancakes, and both were very delicious.

As the Paddington store is permanently closed, we ventured to Wilston for $10 lobster special (1 pp) which had decent portions with three flavours to choose from. Unfortunately the seasoning was not authentic and the Sichuan chilli is nowhere near as spicy as it should be. We also ordered other mains which were very small sized for the price and not authentic. Lamb ribs would be decent if the portions were increased. The staff were friendly and accommodating, although we had to ask several times for water to be refilled. Personally would not go back again if not for the lobster special. Much more authentic places for half the price elsewhere.

The Sichuan dry pot we ordered tasted great. You can order the Italian menu too, which is also great.

The restaurant successfully reveals the soul of Chinese cuisine. The food was full-flavoured, especially the Pork buns, and attractively presented. The greeting was warm and genuine, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again.

This has probably got to be one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in a long time. We ordered the pork spare ribs, crispy duck, special fried rice and broccoli with garlic sauce. The duck was saturated in sauce making the ‘crispy’ redundant. The supposed “wok tossed” broccoli was nothing more than microwaved broccoli with sauce poured on top (see photo). The fried rice with prawn had 3 prawns on top of some lukewarm flavourless rice. The pork spare ribs lacked any depth of flavour. Honestly the best part about my meal was the Sprite.

Haven't been there in many years. Wanted chicken fried rice and it was great just like i remembered. It still has a comforting and welcoming vibe. Some of the staff is changed but they are well trained and friendly.

I always suggest to my friends to go to visit this restaurant. This is one of the restaurants I visited many times because I often get greeted with friendly “hello” and “ smiles”. The service is good but slow sometime when busy. The food is always tasty and fresh. My favorite dish is the Noodles with Mince Pork and the authentic Sichuan chilli sauce.

It's a true hidden gem! The food is so good you'll not want to move away from this restaurant if you live nearby! We eat here at least three times a month and we've never been disappointed. Perfect food every time, delicious and the price and portions are right!

The food was amazing!! We had the noodles with Mince pork and fried dumplings which were wonderful. A member of our party ordered the kung pao chicken with extra spicy. The food arrives rapidly and the customer service is just fantastic. The atmosphere was pleasant.

This place came highly recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. We had chicken fried rice and noodle with chicken. Service was good, attentive and friendly. Portions were large. Cost was reasonable.

I celebrated my birthday at Sichuan Bang Bang and had a truly special time. Each dishes were simply exquisite. The waiters were particularly nice and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed and informal.

Cannot remember if it was a Groupon deal or the Fork’s deal but we had a dinner here at late Oct last year. Business was extremely busy so service was not attentive at all.
Ordered some favorite dishes but was advised that we took a long time so changed our strategy to order something else because we were very hungry.
Food-wise, dishes are passable. We cannot rate it very high because they lack of authenticity. Hokkien noodle also lack of “Wok Qi”.
Overall, this dinner was not that impressive.

Satisfied with the Great service and efficient staff. Food was a little pricy though portions were reasonable, tasted pretty good but not wow. The seatings and interior design was modern and attractive. The pizza zone was crowded and pizzas looked amazing. Might come back to try one.

Delicious selection of amazing food

Rating both Sichuan Bang bang and Violetta. We occasion this dual restaurant regularly. The service and atmosphere is very pleasant, the pizzas are great and the Chinese food is quality for the price.

Good to have a nice Chinese so close to home. Been at the Kenmore outlet several times and loved it.

Ordered the Siew long pau and it's surprisingly good!
The crispy duck however, was a little too salty
The fish hot pot, I ordered the Ma la version and perhaps I have a high spice tolerance, still wasn't hot enough for me.

The food itself wasn't spectacular, service was good.
May go back to try something else at some stage

We ordered from Uber eats. Ordered the lamb ribs, shredded beef, chicken fried rice and what I thought were supposed to be soup dumplings. Everything lacked flavour, the lamb was just dry ribs with no sauce or flavour. The shredded beef was coated in flour that wasn't cooked properly, the rice was meh - ok, but again no flavour. The only saving grace was the dumplings.
I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant as it has been impossible to find Sichuan food outside of China. Sadly, I did not find it here.

It's not your cheap-as-chips Chinese food, but was worth it. I had the Shanghai ribs and green veg with garlic. The spices and flavours were wonderful. Will be back.

Loved this place. Mainly because the food has the zing or the bang bang necessary to satisfy my passion for chilli! Can highly recommend the soft shell crab, delightfully crisp with a subtle blend of spice & heat which one expects when visiting the Sichuan region in south west China. My favorite province for food when visiting.

Amazing food, my fav dishes are the lamb chop chop, the sizzling prawn... The salt and pepper prawn and the soft shell crab!

True authentic Chinese food that is sure to please. I was seated 10 other friend who also enjoyed the Bang Bang experience. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is a true foodie. I know I'll be back for sure!
