Located in the food court area of the University of Queensland, the place is always packed with students. The pricing was reasonable, the staff was almost always quick which gives great service even during the peak lunch hours.
Ordered the Mini Burrito Bowl. Tried the Barramundi fish, although I had ordered the roasted vegetables. I have no dietary restriction so it was all good, but just an indicator on how the service should be improved, especially when this happens twice to me (I was given the actual burrito instead of the burrito bowl last time).
Overall, good food and good pricing, would like to see improvement in the service though.
Quick and friendly service every single time I’ve ordered from GYG at the Refectory at UQ St Lucia. Can get extremely busy at lunchtime during the semesters.
Pretty quick food, had a burrito regular size with vegetarian filling spicy. Lots of upsell attempts and very noisy, could barely hear what the cashier was saying. But good for minimal packaging, no plastic here, and for meat eaters they seem to be working on minimising their impacts.
Love the dishes here. Who knew 🥑 and 🍅 would go so well with potato chips. Got myself a mini Nacho Fries with mild grilled chicken ❤️. A perfect lunch for long uni days.
Excellent friendly service. Extremely busy place but the staff are like a well oiled machine, so efficient. Food is hot and quick- menu is healthy & fresh. A loyalty card means you can get free meals when you rack up points!!
GYG is GYG, it is always tasty and fresh and the service is always friendly. This GYG is always busy despite the peaks and troughs of customers that occur with being on campus. One of the better places to eat at UQ, for sure!

I was so excited when Guzman y Gomez came to campus. The slow-cooked beef (guerrero) is my personal favorite. Depending on the time of the day and the day of the week, the product here can be a little inconsistent, but I still enjoy it very much.
Yum I love Mexican. This franchise never ceases to amaze me. Had the Burrito bowl with brown rice and extra habanero so right up my chilli alley. Love the service and quality egerutime. Very food for fast food-style Mexican. Not quite restaurant good but close.
Tastes great as usual and the customer service was great, not to mention the speed they were serving everybody at was incredible. Although I was disappointed that there was no spicyness at a present in my burrito :( it still was worth the ride
Food is bit expensive but prefer the music ambiance. I would expect staff to be bit more friendly.
The best burritos on campus and lovely service from the team. A breakfast burrito is a great way to start the day. Make it spicy just for a bit more kick. The nacho fries are a once-a-week treat. Liz and the team their provide great service with the Latino touch.
If you like big heavy burritos this is the place for you. The convenient on campus location and rewards program for repeat visits all add in its favour. Super busy during lunch times and the greasiness of the burritos can cause you to get sick of it. Overall, well done.
