Review Mocha Lounge - Brisbane

Hui Xiao
Delicious noodle. Personally think is the best place to eat authentic rice noodles in Brisbane. Close to UQ and I went there very often after work. I think the soup and sauce in the noodle are handmade, which is not common in most of the noodle stores. I feel the noodle is handmade too but not sure. The staff there is patient, relaxed and friendly. I had great experience every time I went there and recommended to all my friends. The only thing is that it only opens at nights and not open on Saturdays, which is understandable.

I absolutely love the noodles and wonton! It has decent quantity for a decent price. If you’re looking for something simple, hearty and delicious to satisfy your hunger, this is the perfect place.

Absolutely amazing little spot and deeply regret not knowing about them when I was a student myself. The menu is small but perfection. The Signature Noodle Soup was a perfect introduction and absolutely delicious. Excellent pricing to quality and portion size! Can’t wait to be back!

Best Chinese noodle in west Brisbane

I am now a frequent customer at Lius' Noodle Lounge. I always am happy with service and the food is very good each time! I recommend this location for authentic Chinese noodles. My favourite menu items is Number 3 and Number 5.

The dumplings were barely steamed on one of the servings Raw dough & filling. The other plate of dumplings was cooked but the ratio of filling was small leading to lacklustre nibbles. The broth in my noodles was great and the table condiments were delicious additives. Loved the chilli.

The staff is so nice and will recommend dishes, everything tastes great and very authentic. I get the vegan option which comes with tofu and is extremely dishes and the noodle are a little chewy and soft.

I love this place! Best hot chocolate in Australia! It is like liquid silk and not too sweet like most others! I keep coming back as often as i can.
I had brekky there on Tuesday- a lovely vegetarian omelette with beautiful tomatoes - grilled just right! A lovely way to start the day!

I dropped in this cafe and ordered a cappuccino and bacon sandwich for lunch, the food was served in 8 minutes and tasted so good, especially the coffee (Segafredo Zanetti)--the best I'v ever had in St Lucia. I like the colour and flower decorations there. Will be back again!
Went there for something cold this afternoon, as I walked in, I saw the girl behind the counter licking her fingers eating something. I ordered a milkshake and when she scooped the icecream from the freezer, which was on the other end of the store, she had to hold the scoop on one hand and was holding the icecream with her other hand, which she was licking a moment ago!!!!

Not very happy, will not go again....

Do not go here. It was me and 2 other people waiting for our coffee. I ordered scrambled eggs with sausages. It took 35 minutes and the eggs were a gelatinous blob of disgustingness. I ended up not eating it as I had lost my appetite after waiting so long. The other 2 people at the other tables looked similarly pissed off.

I don't expect this business to be running for much longer.

Overpriced, bland and poor quality.. I've been to this restaurant twice, their coffee is decent at most, I would never have it again though (so many better places to have a nice coffee). I had breakfast once, and puked out the food, apparently it was 'fresh and cooked momentarily'. After making the waitress aware, I was told I should come by again and have the same meal again (it was there Egyptian bean special or something around those lines), as if I would do that! Several people told me to try out their lunch, so I decided to head over earlier today, and ordered their Tandoori chicken with salad and yoghurt. Let me be honest, the quantity of the Tandoori chicken was 4 small pieces the size of chicken nuggets, which were topped over by some tandoori chicken paste and served to me without any marination (not worth $5, forgot the $9 I paid). I also ordered a berry smoothie, and once again, I assure you I can make a far better smoothie; they simply took a very small quantity of berries (put some milk and ice) and blended them up, for $7.50 ONLY! The most bland smoothie I have had in ages.

What I recommend if you're considering eating at Mocha Lounge --> Head over next to door to Thai Nakonlanna, ask Patrick to get you a coffee (there coffees are just as good), pay $12 for a delicious meal that will fill you up, and you'll get an entree while you're at it as well. Never going to Mocha Lounge again.

THE best coffee on The Vill.. Absolutely loved it. My coffee was made to perfection. Great atmosphere, exceptionally friendly staff and the vibe is uplifting. I had the open grill and it was delicious. Highly recommend it.

Great coffee!. First time at this little cafe... Had the Tandoori wrap. Yummm!! Great coffee as well. Friendly atmosphere. Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Great Coffee. Been to this coffee shop a few times, love the coffee and the friendly staff. Had the beef burger for lunch, it's delicious. It's a great place to meet with friends and family for a quick bite, will definitely go back to try some of the other items on the menu.

Love the atmosphere. Best chai latte and the staff really know how to make a great coffee. Love the fact that I can charge my phone / laptop while i dine and very family friendly :)

Loved everything about it.. Very fast, friendly and efficient service.

Gorgeous atmosphere & decor.

Really good coffee & extra tasty food. I got the beef burger and it was amazing. The place to be in St Lucia.

Disappointing value lunch. Made a pit stop in this area in the course of work travels, and I would have eaten at one of the other eateries in this stretch of shops if not for the fact that the company I was in wanted coffee. Having never eaten at Mocha Lounge I figured might as well give it a go. Ordered the $10 lunch special of a gourmet sandwich (with a choice of filling) and drink. Opted for the turkey and apple juice. When I read something described as a gourmet sandwich, I don't expect just a bit of shaved turkey meat and cranberry sauce in between two slices of buttered bread, for that is nothing more than a normal sandwich I make at home. Alas, that is what I received. The juice came in a small glass tumbler, and was good for a few sips with the straw. At least my stomach (barely) stopped grumbling, which is more than I can say for my mind.

Terrible coffee, terribly long wait. I just waited for over 20 minutes for my take away coffees. Not only did the girl behind the coffee have to yell out to ask how to make a macchiato, this coffee, along with the latte, have to be hands down the worst coffees we have ever had. One sip and threw them right out. Very disappointing

Highly enjoyed!!. After a friend suggested we meet here last week, I read some of the reviews and suggested we meet elsewhere... I'm glad she insisted (its one of her favourite coffee shops!) The service was lovely (nice to see staff smiling), the coffee was perfect and the food was delicious (and very reasonably priced too!) Very groovy vibe.
Not sure if maybe they've had changes in staff, some "off days" or if people are just whinging (because these days they can) but I have nothing but solid praise for this little café. I've been back twice already for takeaway coffees because they are THAT good! One VERY happy customer - would highly recommend this place to anyone. :-)

Amazing. This cafè is amazing, a beautiful ambience with a contemporary vibe. Perfect coffee. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Tasty food. Definitely recommend to anyone. Best place to be in St Lucia.

Dreadful Service and Appalling Food. Ordered a caesar salad and tandoori wrap which took over 45 minutes to arrive with no other customers in the store!

Once arrived, the caesar salad was made with old, wilting lettuce; no bacon; cold half-frozen, tasteless chicken and doused in sauce.

The tandoori wrap was extremely small for its price!

Shocking service with awfully poor food - DEFINITELY WILL NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

Horrible!!. Everything about this restaurant experience was horrible! We waited over an hour for avocado on toast, french toast and croissants with cheese. The toast was cold and stale, the avocado still had the skin on and was still hard and the croissants were not even warmed or cooked.

We had to go up and ask about our food 3 times with minimal response from the waitresses.

Overall this was a terrible experience. I would not recommend this to anyone and I will never go here again!

After searching for a coffee shop near the Uni, we arrived at Mocha Lounge - big mistake. They were quick to take our order and money, but after waiting for over 45 mins for toasted sandwiches we were over it! Then when Ian's burger came out it was tiny. Not sure how he was supposed to eat the salad that was with it as there was no cutlery! Dreadful!!!

Fantastic iced chocolate. The food here is lovely - very tasty and so fresh! and the iced chocolate is so rich and chocolately!
Lovely - just lovely!
Cheers
Tess

On par with other reviews. Took 20 minutes for a coffee. Slow, lack lustre service. You could tell the staff didn't want to work - just plodding their way behind the counter.

Bad. I waited almost half an hour for some of the worst mocha i have ever had and some burnt cheese toast. Never have i gone back.

20 minutes wait for take away coffee. Very disappointing

Great friendly service considering there was only one person working. Great venue, nice ambience, price was good for the meals provided, something different on the menu was great to see. 3 people ate here today and had different meals and all were very satisfied, nothing fancy just a good welcome experience,

Geat Coffee let down by the food. $7.50 for a Tuna and egg swch. Sunday morning Stale, bread fried and burned egg and dry tuna. It was dreadful. Should have been fresh everything with a boiled egg not fried and a choice of a little bit of Mayo

Worst. Coffee. Ever.

Nice interior; mediocre food. From the outside, Mocha Lounge is very inviting. It has a kind of dark feel to it, yet is still very inviting. In short, I was a big fan of their visual merchandising and think that more places should take a leaf out of their book!

The desserts on the other hand... Tried both the sticky-date pudding with ice cream and the cookies & cream cheese cake. Both were fantastically presented with an aesthetically pleasing swirl of caramel (or sticky date sauce).

However in the taste and texture department, both were lacking. The cheese cake had an odd texture that felt more like cookie dough rather than cheese cake. The pudding was too light, and it was already soggy to a mush when it came out.

This place does have potential, but it is not quite up there yet in my books. I should probably try it again as it is possible that they were just having an off day!

Lousy value, good coffee. We went to Mocha Lounge after trying to hit up the much better place next door (My Heart Garden) for breakfast and finding it closed.

We had a very disappointing experience at Mocha Lounge. While the coffee was pretty good, the open grill croissants we ordered from their all day breakfast menu were tiny, consisted of a couple of slices of tomato and a bit of grated (and only partially melted) cheese, and at nearly $8 were extremely unsatisfying.

We will not be returning.

A note to locals - this coffee spot is back! New owners have revamped the interior and it looks GREAT! But it doesn't stop there - the menu is scrumptious (try the bircher) the coffee is smooth and rich, and the family owners make the experience warm and inviting! Enjoy!
