Review Oxford Street Fish & Chips - Brisbane

Just purchased min chips and 2 potato cakes for $6.40. Admittedly they were punched out pretty quick, but the min chips was a little larger then a open palm. Chips were v flowery and salty. Also had no vinegar. Stay away. Best off walking an extra 500m up the road

Sometimes I order take away, usually I regret it Once I was sitting in a park and saw woman eating a meal from this established. I quickly ran over. "is that from Oxford fish and chip takeaway!" I inquired enthusiastically. "indeed it is" the older woman with a weary voice replied. I immediately asked her what she thought, this was when she started melting into Heinz ketchup. That was an account of a dream I had after having takeaway from Oxford fish and chip takeaway. Now that's an experience money can't buy.

Went there yesterday and got the family meal for $35. Seriously got not even 1 handfull of chips if i didn't have the kids with me i would have gone back and thrown it back in his face. Absolutely terrible. Rip off at its best!!!

Was a quick and straight-forward service however it would help greatly if there was a sign stating payment methods or even being informed before ordering as it's a cash only establishment.

Pretty decent fish and chips, however the shops appearance is very daggy.

The food was expensive, staff were average. However, the food was quick and fine

Some how I stumbled upon this Zomato page and took beef cheeks advice to heart and made it a point to get out to this fine establishment to try these so called "Best chips in Brisbane", they are far from it. I received very ordinary tasting take away chips, undercooked, and had an extremely disappointing serve of take away chips.

Don't often eat chips but out of curiosity, as the Meatballs and Beef Cheeks family recommended them, I had to try them.
The chips are better then most fish and chips places but I like them a bit crispier.
So don't have to high expectations and you won't be disappointed.
I would think there are better chips in Brisbane. Every pub who serves a good steak should have better chips then that.
Most definitely every French restaurant as well.

BEST CHIPS IN BRISBANE!
It was total luck that I happened upon Oxford Fish and Chips five years ago. For my money, they have the best chips in Brisbane. Not only that, but you tell them how much you want to spend and they'll increase the size of your order accordingly (wrapped in paper with just the right amount of salt). I've driven all the way to Bulimba to pick up several large orders to bring to BBQ's and everyone is always glad that I did. The rest of the menu is quite forgettable and the overall rating would be much lower if it weren't for the fact that their chips are amazing!
