With the experience of my last visit, we went for the a la carte menu to have dinner here couple of days ago. We ordered the Stir Fried Shredded Pork in Peking Sauce, Stir Fried Pork Chitterlings with celery and green chilli and the Fish Fillets in Spicy Sauce with Chinese Cabbages. Our strategy proved to be correct that all three of the dishes composed an impressive dining experience. Pancakes for the shredded pork are soft and the shredded pork is very tasteful. Chitterlings seems to be slightly let down because the chitterlings are not thick and tenderised enough. Having said that the fish fillets gained marks back with very generous portion. All Basa fillets were thick cut and the spiciness was just spot-on. Yummy!

If I read the review from Espresso&Matcha, I would stick with my plan to go for a la carte for my second visit of this restaurant. Walked in to have an early dinner last night at 5:45pm. There were already two tables occupied. We were attracted by the menu of Spicy Hot Pot (dry hot pot) that seemed to be their signature dish as competing with Malatang everywhere around Sunnybank area. Selected five each of the meat & vegetables. Waited around 10 to 12 minutes then our hot pot (not really a hot pot but a wok) with all the food that we chose. It looked alright but the taste had the same mistake as three years ago that it lacks the pungency and spiciness (even we ordered mild hotness). In addition, it is not cheap as we paid over $70.00 for it and I think it would be much cheaper to have Malatang across the road @ "fill the bowl" of the Market Square!

I have not had dinner in this restaurant for a while so gave it a go last Friday. I found the business went downhill in terms of service and setting. They really need face-lifted on the filthy couch covers and also the waitress uniform. I ordered the Hot & Spicy Mixed Seafood HotPot to go with some Steamed Buns. Portion was acceptable with enough varieties of seafood such as sand crab, scallops, abalone, prawns, mussels etc. However, the whole HotPot lacks the pungency and spiciness, maybe it is a modified version but more chillies and cayenne pepper would definitely show the character of Sichuan cuisine. Having said that it is not a bad place to cure the homesickness of some dinners and that is the reason why it is still quite busy on that night.
The food is nice. Like the hot pot here. Most food is hot and tasty and you can also ask the chef put less spicy in your order. Recommend and will come back.
I've been to the Fortune Well restaurant on a couple of special occasions, and it's always sensational! Fortune Well hits all the right places for an excellent dining experience. The service is always impeccable. The food there especially the Stir Fried Asparagus Lettuce With Pork was pure delight to eat. Overall Fortune Well is an amazing Si-Chuan style restaurant. Highly recommended!
This is a great Sichuan-style restaurant. The taste is exactly the same as what I have eaten in Chongqing. I only waited for about 10 minutes to eat my order. The staff is very friendly. The Deep Fried Chicken Dices with Hot Dried Chill and Chef's Special Fish Fillets recommended to me are very good to eat
I used to have no interest in spicy food. Once I was taken to Fortune well by my friends, my mind has totally changed. The main reason is because of the brilliant dry hot pot served by Fortune well. I can choose the level of the spicy as well as the ingredients to make up of the hot pot. Besides, pancakes are contained in a dish called stir fried pork. The experience in fortune well gives me a brand new taste on Chinese traditional Sichuan food. Really recommend.
With a genuine chengdu bloodline, more attention should be paid to local conditions. Over the years, shui jing fang has been exploring ways to blend local Australian ingredients with traditional sichuan cuisine. On the basis of absorbing the essence of other cuisines and combining the characteristics of different food materials, various delicacies with different flavors have been derived.
Highly recommend!!! Fortune Well is the best restaurant in Brisbane which is famous for Sichuan cuisine. The food there combines traditional Chinese cultures and western food cultures which is suitable for everyone. As a big fan of spicy food, the dry hot pot and the BBQ fish are my favorite dishes. The food and service in this restaurant are fabulous!😊😊😊
The dining environment is beautiful. I like the overall decoration style very much, It makes me feel back home. As for food, I didn't expect the portion sizes to be so large. So when I finished my dish I can still pack the left as the part of my next meal. Containers only cost 30c to 50 c according to the size. I really enjoyed all dishes, particularly the Si Chuan style deep fried shrimps, these were amazing! .I can't wait to come and eat here again.
It is surprise that the chef can change the pungency degree of every dish that the taste is just right for me. The food is fantastic both cold dish and hot dish. We order a roast fish, it is fresh and special with Chinese prickly ash. And it is nice to make the dish out of aginomoto when I ask them to do so cauze I am sensitive with it.
Fortunewell is the best restaurant in Brisbane,I never eat the best Chinese food like fortune well restaurant, the food is so delicious, the service is great.Last Friday I and my friend went there to have a dinner,we ate the dry hot pot,it’s very tasty. And the waitress help to take photo for us and we didn’t finish, help us to take away food! Especially the environment is good,we sat near the heater,it’s romantic??
Hot fresh and reasonably priced. No more than we would pay back home in Brighton and the food was 10 times better. Very upset we don't live close enough for this to be our regular. Portions plenty generous enough for seconds. Particular highlights being the salt and chili chicken and the Hong Kong style sweet and sour king prawns. Highly recommend.
Fortune Well is the famous south side Chinese restaurant specializes in Sichuan cuisine. The brightly lit establishment showcases a mix of traditional Chinese and modern design with a large indoor and alfresco dining area. A family gathering was required and we were fortunate to secure one of the four private dining rooms. A view of the menu revealed primarily traditional Sichuan offerings with a few interesting fusions.
Really great selection on the menu so it was hard to choose. Nothing was too spicy either which I'm not sure is totally authentic or catering to western palates more because I've never been. Tea smoked duck was awesome and came with small steamed bao instead of pancakes which was nice. Dan dan was cheap but so delicious with a subtle smokey sweetness. Spicy beef and cabbage was delicious. Steamed abalone wasn't my favourite only because the other dishes were so flavoursome and that was quite subtle so I think I will try the griddles abalone next time. No dessert but who cares, wandering around Sunnybank for various specialties is one of the best things about it.
Last week, I had the good fortune of being invited to try out some traditional Sichuan foods at Fortune Well, along with Mr and Mrs Tomcat and baby Tomcat. Being a well established part of Sunnybank, I had long wanted to go but lacked the background knowledge on Sichuan food to give it the proper appraisal that it deserved. Luckily for us that night, Tomcat who is an expert in Northern Chinese cuisine was able to give us detailed narration (of food, amongst other things) whist we enjoyed our meal.
I have been here 3 times over the past 2 years, 1st time we dined we ordered the Chicken Spicy Hot Pot, my partner and I were so happy with dish quantity, quality of meat & the flavours were so delicious! We have gone back twice over the past 2 weeks and tried different dishes, we loved the Beef Spicy Hot Pot, Crispy Beef with sweet and sour (sweet not spicy) and we got the chef lunch special which was a fish & tofu hot pot! Each dish is amazing & the service is great we will be back to take our children and hopefully they will love it as much as my partner and I do!
Great place to go for a dinner with friends and family. Really enjoyed the foods especially the fish fillets and other seafood . The service was nice as well
Last time, when I traveled to Brisbane, a friend took me to there, it amazed me, no matter the entry -pork slice with garlic, n the preserved pork with leek, all my local friends r like it!!!
The fortune well is the best sichuan restaurants in the Brisbane. The service is nice, the food is lovely, especially the deep fried chicken and the dry hot-pot.
Our entrees were served quickly and were very tasty. The main courses were fantastic! really great environment, and the food is amazing, the service is amazing, the prices are amazing, the staff are the best - and it is the place we go to celebrate all our special times
The "Chicken Slices In Spicy Sauce With Chinese Cabbage". The bright color, spicy taste, tender and smooth chicken, fresh Chinese cabbage and incomparable fragrance make up this delicious Sichuan dish.
When you first see the dish, you'll feel like you're in love with the dish. and with a bowl of white Steamed Rice. You will find this dish gives you a new understanding of the world. I'll even pack up the rest of the soup. It's really delicious. I love it!
We've found our new favourite restaurant! Brilliant Food. Just had their hot pot fish and hot pot beef. Very tasty and great service from friendly staff.
Highly recommend for those who love Sichuan food, the food was really tasty, especially the snow crab with hot chilli sauce. Service was very nice and polite.
I lived in australia for about 10 years. I traveled to this place and found the sichuan restaurant. It was very good and I heard the chefs are all from sichuan. No wonder the food is very authentic especially the deep fried chicken with chilli. Yum!!!
The service is alright and if you are looking for a fine dinning experience, this might not be an ideal option. But the food is really good and I am someone who is looking for a good food place, and the authentic Sichuan food there will just let me go back there again.
A beautiful place to enjoy an authentic Sichuan food with your squads! Had a lunch with my high school friends and the food there was great especially the chef's special basa fish fillets! Lovely service!
Today we go to eat boiled fish Beijing sauce pork and weep tofu and Kung Pao Chicken, really is very, very delicious, I come from Sichuan, China, this is authentic Sichuan taste ah, if you try to try the traditional Authentic Sichuan cuisine, then do not hesitate! The The The Book it now, believe me, do not regret it!
if you come to Brisbane I relly recommend you go to fortune well. It's traditional Si Chuan reaturena. Twice cooked pork belly with broad beans and soy bean paste, it's amazing. we'll return
i am a spicy lover and this shop will definitely fulfill your needs and i had the tea smoked duck which is very special as well. i will go back there with my friends again
Tried this before at Chinatown, Sydney. It's great as usual. The chef special fish fillet is so GOOD --My favorite dish!!! Highly recommend to those who stay in Brisbane.
was in Gold Coast for a business trip two weeks ago, my business partner told me don't try spicy food in Gold Coast, will only disappoint me. So he drove me to Brisbane (took an hour to drive) to this area fulfilled with restaurants!
the Chinese Logo says it's another "Red Chilli Sichuan Restaurant" branch but the English says another, well, don't know what's in between, but food is Red chilli standard, not bad, not to much to say about specialties but has everything when I eat in Sydney.
Hope they can have a shop in Gold Coast.
the food is wonderful!
and I like this restaurant's service, and the environment.
I think the hot pot is very delicious! including the hot pot beef/ fish. and the size is enough for 2 people.
The best food and the best service. The Chinese characteristics is very special. When I feel hungry, it is the first restaurant that appear in my mind。
ery good Chinese restaurant with old sichuan style. My personal first recommend dish is roast duck with pancakes. The second is sweet and sour crispy pork feet which looks like tofu, tasting very good. Friendly staff.
Amazing Sichuan food!
I love it so much
I will recommend you HOTPOT BEEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Tea Smoked Duck here! Sweat chilly sauce makes the duck tastes really delicious and soft! I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends!
One of the best Chinese restaurants. Spicy dishes are suitable for foodies who enjoy spicy food.
Waiters and waitresses are really kind.
Really impressed! Food here is really tasty, especially the dish called chef special fish fillets! Staff are friendly and service is really quick! We will come back!
One of my favourite Chinese restaurant. Great food choice and always consistent delicious food. The services and staffs were kindly and good too. Best recommended
as a traveler, my friend recommend this restaurant to me. they have really good cold dishes, u have to try "chef's special fish fillets". this is my favorite dish.
Delicious food!!! Love it so much! Highly recommend Spicy chicken dices with chilies and Chef special fish fillet - hot but really nice. Must TRY.
I especially like snakes and entrees here. Bean jelly is wonderful and I never see it before, I think it should be a traditional Chinese dish. Spring rolls and shrimp dumplings are also tasty.
very like the stir fried sweet corn,it is really delicious, and fantastic dumplings! the restaurant did have a full Chinese dishes menu So fantastic we came back again the second night to eat them again. Athough the food was not cheap,in the end taste won out!
The restaurant's waiters' attitude is very good desktops are also very clean, food taste and color are good, I often eat together with friends.
Fortune well is definitely one of the best restaurants with the most delicious Sichuan dishes. Nicely located in the central of Sunnybank with large parking space. I visited the restaurant with my friend for the first time and we were both blown away by how original and amazing the food is. The restaurant offers a wide-range and wonderful selections of different signature Sichuan dishes on the menu. One of our favourite and most classic dish was the Kung Pao Chicken. The dish was well seasoned and cooked with Sichuan chilli sauce and roasted peanuts. Chicken was tender which assembles a distinctive flavour, it is a perfect dish for people who love Sichuan cuisines. I would recommend everybody to go to this restaurant. Fortune Well in Sunnybank.
I came last week after the sichuan restaurant, their restaurant decoration inside is very has the Chinese characteristic.
Restaurant waiter is very enthusiastic, 10 minutes after the meal when I order have been brought to the table.
I very much enjoy one dish is called Crispy beef with sweet and sour sauce. This dishes is very suitable for mass taste, it is not as hot as traditional sichuan dishes This dish has a sweet, sour, Crispy, sweet set.
Well worth a try.
Thanks to the restaurant I had a perfect dinner
A chain store in Australia for spicy dishes from china.
Service ok.
Dishes not that impressive, but acceptable for me. Not exactly the same flavour as those in China but far better than those from Cantonese restaurants.

Food here is very much like what you get in Sichuan China, the taste is truly authentic and bring me back here everytime when im craving some spicy chinese food. I was here around two week ago to celebrate my brother's six year old birthday. The place is very kids friendly both food and environment wise. Its was a busy Saturday, the food was a reasonable 20 minutes wait for all dishes to arrive. The staffs here are nice and offered to places our cake in the fridge and brought it out and eating utensils for the cake after we finished our feast. Overall this chinese restaurant has never let me down on the quality of the food or the service from the staffs.

Fortune well is A must go, if you enjoy an authentic Sichuan cuisine. The one dish that stood out for me the most out of all the other amazing food on offer was the traditional Sichuan style dan dan noodles. Having A bowl of these mouthwatering noodles is a great way to start you day. The noodle is packed with flavour and is a definitely a good bang for your buck at the pricing of only $6.8!!!!! Bear in mind that it's a full bowl of noodles mixed in chilli oil and topped with perfectly cooked minced pork. I highly recommend you to try this dish next time when you visit fortune well Sunnybank. You will definitely enjoy the experience.
There has a very delicious dessert which made by the steamed and deep Fried Chinese Bread served with condensed milk. there are two types of the bread which gives different texture the fried bread is crumbly and the steam bread is creamy. it gives people a strong flavor in mouse with the condensed milk. if someone going to eat there I suggest to try once you probably will like it.
I really like this Chinese restaurant. Their service attitude is also very friendly food taste is very authentic. I hope have a chance to bring my friends to taste again.

I've been brought up around chinese foods all my life. Have tasted many asian dishes around different countries and provinces. This place is definitely one of the best places in Brisbane for authentic Sichuan cuisine. Their first branch started in China, and their famous traditional dishes have travelled overseas to Brisbane & Sydney (maybe more). Love the food here although service may be quite a mess here on a busy day. I rate this place 9/10
My friend and I went to the Fortune Well around 5:10pm, the waitresses were enthusiastic and the barbecue fish was very yummy. It's a good place for you and your friends to have a nice dinner.
The best Sichuan restaurant in Brisbane, especally the dry-hot pot and BBQ fish which makes me feel like I am still living in Sichuan. The food is very decilious. Especially, dry pot that is my favorate. I went to at lunch, the food is coming quickly. It is a good choice.
Nice Sichuan food. The deep fried spice chicken taste very good. And the spice hotpot is delicious as well. I will recommend it to my friends.
This is a fantastic restaurant. the food is really Sichuan style and it is yummy. The portion of food is big enough. BBQ fish is my favoriate. Service is nice. We have a good experience.
As a Sichuanese, it is absolutely one of the best Sichuan restaurant in Brisbane, especally the dry-hot pot and BBQ fish which makes me feel like I am still living in Sichuan. The atmosphere is nice and waitresses are so nice and friendly. I will go Fortune Well twice a week at least. I really like their food very much.
We held a 100 people academic exchange community in Fortune Well restaurant. The food was absolutely beautiful as well as the services. Staff kept changing clean plates for us quite often and helped our guests getting the taxi. Everyone was happy that night, very impressed experience. I would go there next time for sure.
We were there for one dish - Chef’s Special Chilli Fish Fillets ($36.80). The dish came out in a big porcelain bowl with dried chilli swimming in spicy chilli oil that was bubbling like a hot spring. It was visually satisfying. Taste wise, it was a tasty dish and the basa fillets were super soft, but I felt like the dish wasn’t spicy enough. Now I know what you’re thinking right now, girl are you insane? The fish was drowning in chilli. It looked that way, I agree, but somehow there was no numbing sensation whatsoever, which was slightly disappointing, but nonetheless it’s a dish that I would recommend. We got a lot of fish for our money, that dish could easily feed three adults, and because my eyes are always bigger than my tummy, I also ordered boiled chicken with green onions and chilli oil ($10.60), stir fried green beans with pork mince ($14.50), Sichuan dandan noodles with pork mince ($5.80) and some rice ($2 each)… it was perhaps a little overkill, however we did manage to finish most of the food as the rest of the dishes were pretty yummy.
This is the best Sichuan restaurant in Brisbane. Ambience is typical of a busy Chinese restaurant (I go here for occasional weekend dinners) and honestly the service is a bit slow (you really need to flag them down if you want something), but the food here is insane. Plus, the price isn't too bad, overall I like this place.
If you like spicy food, you would not be disappointed at this place. It offers relatively traditional Chinese food. However, they really need to improve their service standards.
Absolutely the most tasty fish we had so far! We ordered the stone boiling fish, chicken, and salt pepper prawns. This restaurant is one of the few places that actually cook the chicken and prawns perfectly which has inside tender and juicy and outside crispy. The chicken goes well with beer and its spicy level is just right for us. This meal convinced a person who didn’t like fish or seafood!
We got take away from Fortune Well at Sunny Park, we got:
1.Beef in Spicy Sauce with Chinese Cabbage
($23.50) - it was tasty but there beef was a little tough to chew.
2. Stewed Fish Fillet with Pickled Chilli & Vegetables ($34.50). A little bland, but was satisfying enough.
The hot stone fish pot seemed to be a popular item among all the diners here. It's pretty good but would be nicer if there's more vegetables inside. Definitely a dish to share with a few people. The beef tripe dish was not bad but a bit oily. All the dishes we had were spicy but you can tone down the spice level to your liking.
Cold dish was great. Hot pot was flavorsome. Spicy fish was a bit lacking the spicy kick!
Very tasty food especially the Sichuan beef and Kung Pao Chicken
Pretty good Sichuan food!
My favourite is cumin lamb ribs (Not this time),
Non spicy Fish soup was nice,
Foods was good with Tsingtao!
