Busy little coffee shop with small selection of breakfasts. The coffee was good. Bold coffee flavour. Just how how l like it. service was quick. Great atmosphere.
I've been to this coffee shop couple of times over the last few weeks and I will probably be back again.
The shop itself gives you a hipster vibe with friendly staff and cheap coffee ($3.70 for a large long black).
The coffee is also good, my long black was strong and not too acid nor too bitter, probably one of the long black I enjoyed the most around brisbane.
The one and only keeping it real in the CBD. If you want to feel alive go here. If you want to know what's going on in music that counts, go here. If you want to die a slow, painful boring death, go somewhere else. Oh yeah, and the coffee is unparalleled. Strong, smooth and as sure as a freight train in the night.
We had a tip off on Twitter about Contessa by Blackstar in the Brisbane CBD and added it straight on our Coffee Shop Target List as a must visit. There had been lots of action on social media about the new venue but nothing quite prepared us for the unique slice of West End funk in the city. Somehow the ‘vibe’ of the original Blackstar cafe permeates its younger city dwelling sibling. The A4 photocopy wallpaper, furniture on wheels, projected menu, subdued lighting provides the new ‘funk’ with the familiar links...
One of my favorite coffee haunts in the CBD - they make great coffee. I love their selection of beans too. Worth the stroll if you have the time / are nearby. It's a cute little Melbourne hipster style fit out with cute guys serving.
I visited here two times. staffs are kind and friendly. I ordered long black and iced latte all of them taste good! I like the wood chairs and tables too😆
Didn’t have any cold brew left (which is also really good) so the barista offered to make me an iced long black which he promised would be just as good - he overdelivered. Honestly one of the best coffees i’ve ever had and without a doubt the best iced coffee i’ve had. (it was the single origin Ethiopian bean) Thanks again !
Excellent quality coffee. Quick to prepare coffee, but very slow to prepare food. Big range of milk alternatives.
Don't let the hip vibe scare you off, incredibly friendly staff and quick service will have you coming back! Not to mention the coffee is excellent. There are some tables out the back too so plenty of space to sit down, if your not just after a takeaway.
I’m starting to tell now a place that really knows how to make a great coffee: have a look at how focused they are when they’re making it. You can see it in my pic here at Contessa. And yes my coffee was really good. But there was something else I liked about this place, which I think was captured well by another review I read, they’re pretty cool these dudes and yet they were friendly and helpful (despite my daggy thermos cup.)
This is my partner and I’s favourite place to get a coffee in Brisbane. We’ve been going for a year now. The taste is exceptional and the service to match.
