Review Fiasco's Restaurant - Brisbane

Luke Diggins
The pub is up to date with a recent renovation, sports bar, gaming lounge, casual and more formal dining areas. The steakhouse is brilliant with nice cuts of meat in the window that you can choose and the chefs prep everything quick and to perfection. I got the 250g rump and ribs combo, ribs were so tender and sauced up, steak was cooked perfect rare and salad/veg were prepped and dressed well. The Dianne sauce was a little bit of a let down but won't let that stop it from a 5 * review. Price is on point for the meal that you receive. Definitely a place to check out if you are in the area.

Will keep it short. Front of house quick to greet you ,polite and courteous. Service was impeccable considering the numbers already seated. Food : calamari could be crisper but still soft. Beef cheeks were melt in the mouth but a touch under seasoned . Vegetables had a little bite which is perfect. All in all a vibrant atmosphere and a joy just to watch how the Hamo team worked together. Well done !!!

Went there for lunch today. Wasn't very impressed with the dish I ordered. Was supposed to be Jamaican Banana Curry with prawns and coconut rice. What they gave me instead was 5 small prawns in a tomato style sauce, with a bit of curry powder thrown in and a heap of undercooked onion and a few diced carrot pieces. The dish was almost cold when they served it to me as well. However the T-Bone steak my partner ordered was nice. Staff were great and I like the decor and overall atmosphere.

The Well-done steak was still bleeding, after being asked twice how it was to be cooked. The lamb couscous salad was slimey - way too much dressing and too much pepper. My son enjoyed the schnitzel. Lucky him!?

Came in on Saturday night with a few dear Interstate guests... though we live some distance away, The Hamilton Hotel is our preferred choice... a busy night as expected, but a massive shout out to Grace, the chefs and staff that made it a scrumdidlyumtpouos and enjoyable night đŸ‘ŠđŸ»đŸ„ƒ We shall be back!

Great food and service. The espresso martinis are to die for! I recommend the staff wear red triangular scarves to complete the pirate look. Please mend the lights in the children's play area.
Terina Jose
Excellent food and service. All the staff were so lovely. Never been disappointed here. The vegan burger is one of the best I've ever had.

Great food, great atmosphere, but! Staff need some proper training on how to pour a beer and they need to replace those cheap schooner glasses (the 'Headstart' glasses are a lot better)

This is a large hotel, in a great location near the Brisbane Port area, racecourse precinct and a little further away, Brisbane Airport.
It has an extensive menu, particularly focussing on steak, but with loads of other options and daily specials.
There is a huge bistro section with a sports bar feel, as well as a restaurant section at the front, on Racecourse Rd side, complete with table service.
Our meals were great. I had a 250gm rump steak with half a lobster mornay, chips and salad, for $33. Excellent value, the lobster was a decent size and a great sized side salad too.
Meals were served in good time, even though they were busy.
He had the lobster and squid seafood marinara, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Would definitely return, well recommended.

Regulation pub-grub here which is a bit unfortunate as it could be better , the restaurant area is in a good location
Service is so so but I feel it’s the quality of the meat that lets this pub down - could do better

Nice food but Bad customer service.
The entire restaurant was empty and the Manager (Mink) would not allow us to be seated in a quiet area with our 3 month old baby.
She explained that the other tables are set (see photo) and she did not have the staff to reset the tables for Dinner (we were there having Steaks at 1:30 pm).
Great location, a nice pub with good food and service. Oysters were nice, great selection of wine. Didn’t love the mushroom risotto very very cheesy and oily and the tomato seafood risotto was very bland. carbonara wasn’t very creamy, more watery and a little bland also. The salmon was also great and a good portion but way too much sauce all over everything. Churros were good.
Update:
The menu has recently changed (not for the better) decrease in variety of dishes particularly pastas, rice and steak alternatives. Also they no longer have Cesar salad as a side option only garden. Tried the new lobster and prawn pasta, it was just okay. I appreciated the lobster it wasn’t over cooked or rubbery, same with the prawns but the flavour was not there. There was no sauce just olive oil and a LOT of chilli, it was very spicy (which is fine) but at the same time really didn’t taste like anything. A lemon to serve was odd and too much spring onion for my liking. It could really be improved with a sauce or flavour of some kind. The Arancini however is a great addition, perfectly cooked, not gluggy a good amount of cheese and mushroom and not too oily, very good.

Steak is awesome :-) I would say on of the best in Brisbane! Very very very easy to park and that is the biggest plus ever! Awesome local pub :-)

I saw a rat running around the floor I couldn't believe they have rats in the kitchen. it was really disgusting.
The food recently has changed was terrible especially soggy chips and dried salmon.
I won't come here anymore it was a terrible experience ever in my life.

The famous Hamo.....well the steaks are what we are here for. There is nothing special about pub grub no matter where you go, and this holds the record for Standard and mediocre. Apart from the price the local RSL serves similar. 300gram rump chips and soggy lettuce with crotons bet you have read it on every club/pub restaurant menu you have ever been too. What makes this different just the price.
The staff are very friendly and more than accommodating. It's very busy and seems to have a following from business and social diners. I really can't justify the price for value between the pre preped soggy salad and 10 chips. Maybe investigate other options on the menu we didn't payed the price literally.

The Hamilton Hotel is what it is- a Hotel & not a bad one by any means. Nice atmosphere & friendly staff & the food is typical pub style food & is what you would expect in any pub type venue. Have been here to eat on numerous occasions with friends & found everything to be of good quality & very fresh

Now this is a steak. After a disappointing steak a few nights prior I thought I would try the steak and it was perfection. The sides with chips and salad were just as good. I would come back when visiting Brisvegas.

Visited Grazier's just before Christmas and found the service and food to be quite pleasant. It's a nice family restaurant and even has a kids playground next to the dining area to keep an eye on them. Food was typical Hotel type food, but executed well. Desserts are very cheap in price, but quality reflects this, and this would be the only downside.

Went went for the UFC last weekend, the atmosphere was awesome, the place was so busy but the bar service was good and everyone just got on together and shared tables! We just had chicken parmi for lunch but it was well priced and delicious. Too say how busy it was too the wait was spot on.
AnitaOnChi
Fantastic lunch steaks under $15. Cooked to perfection! We love the Hammo! The only reason this is not getting our top marks is owing to the inconsistent service.

All I can say is this place sucks. We came as a big party and food came out in good time but my chicken was very dry and tasteless and my sisters Caesar Salad was disgusting (which was also topped with processed chicken). How can you ruin a salad? It seemed like the only people who enjoyed their meals were the ones who ordered steak, so maybe stick to that.
Hilary Mitchell
Ordered a medium rare eye fillet steak, but it was very over-done.
More like med-well to well-done.
It came out pretty quickly, which makes me guess it was par-cooked.
Chips and Caesar salad weren't great. Might have been sitting for a while.
Partner quite liked his teriyaki steak.
Probably won't go back to the Glazier's chain.
Was pretty expensive as well, but it probably just fits with the rest of the Grazier's
in Brisbane

A must for parents. My wife and I took our two children (3mths and 3yrs old) to the Hamilton Hotel for the first time last night. The food was outstanding and service equally impressive. Our three year old played in the play room the entire time and we were able to keep an eye on him on the cctv tv monitor at the comfort of our table. This venue is a must for parents that want to get out for a nice evening with their young children without sacrificing quality food.

Very disappointing dinner. Where do i start... the beginning may be... booked dinner there before the circus down the road that we organised to supprise my in law. The waiter show us to our table and just bang the water jug on the table with attitude then "do you know what you want?" We ordered our drinks entrée and main. Got our drink thats fine, the entrée arrived not what we ordered 1st apologies, only 3 out of our 4 main arrived.. thought the last one will arrive in the minutes... after 10 minutes we wonder where is the 4th one. . Checked with the kitchen they missed our 4th one... 2nd apologize... by then we are starving so we start eating.. once i cut into my salad.. i saw something running between my food on my plates there are a life bettle that wasnt mentioned on the menu. Pointed it out 3rd apologize by then they offered the my meal replace and 2 meal taken off the bill. We just had enough and thought eat pay and go as we are late for our show by then.. when we paid they charge us a bottle of white wine instead of a glass 4th apologize. So that's dinner with in laws going. . Thank you.... not very much!!!

Not worth the effort. We are moving into the area, so tried out our favourite dining. What a HUGE disappointment. The worst Graziers we have even dined in. As Pensioners, we were firstly disappointed that they had no Seniors menu. We chose a light lunch - the Pies, which are normally succulent & tasty. Not at the Hamilton Hotel. Ours was dry, tough, unappetising & expensive. The dob of mushy peas & mash didn't help much. Thanks goodness we had some moisture from the mushroom sauce. Service was also pretty poor. We had a long wait for the miserable fare we were served. We'll be actively avoiding the Hamilton Graziers Steakhouse in future.
ps tried to add a photo but this Web Site was uncooperative

Ruined my night.. My partner and I ventured down to the Hamilton hotel for dinner and drinks with a group of friends. After ordering dinner, and proceeding to the bar, we ordered our drink. Shortly after ordering our drink the barman who had just served me and the manager came up and asked for our identification. My partner and I are 27 years old, and I produced my ID at the bar. However when seated with our friends, I produced my ID but my partner did not, consequently we were asked to leave.

TL;DR; Imbecile barman, Imbecile manager, establishment that smells like piss where you can't be seated near someone with an alcoholic beverage if you cant produce ID for risk of being turfed out. And I can say with confidence and from previous experience that the food here is generally rubbish.

It amazes me how varied these reviews are. I recently posted an email to the hotel management thanking them for a great Hotel, they replied and asked if I would post online, being so happy with my experience, I thought why not.

So here it is:

To the Hotel Manager,

Wanted to let you know what a great hotel you have.

Today I had some business at Eagle Farm and needed to kill an hour or two, so I dropped into the "Hamo" for lunch.

Hadn't been in for a couple of years, wasn't expecting much, but I was surprised.

Great atmosphere, great staff, great food and the beer was just right.

I had the $14.99 300g lunch rump, nice bit of meat, cooked perfectly, delicious chips with a nicely dressed salad on the side, everything fresh, well cooked and presented, everything as it should be but better.

A credit to your chef and kitchen staff, it might of been a simple pub counter meal but it was something I would drive across town for again.

Some of the other land mark hotels in Brisbane have become hit and miss at best over recent years and have fallen of my list of things to do regularly due to poor value.

Part of the "poor value" is being afraid to order beer from the tap due to poor gas/taste/temp issues, I'm told with modern systems this is hard to do, but nonetheless the frequency of poor beer on tap on the southside of Brisbane is more often then not. To me the whole point of a "pub" is beer on tap, why would you drink out of glass in a pub, I can do that at home.

Any way congratulations to you and your team, out standing hotel.

Regards,

JH

Nice enough food...terrible service!. We dined at The Hamilton hotel this evening and the food was nice enough. We all had steaks of some description which were nice but wether it was accompanied with Garden Salad or Casear Salad both were very average.
We had a kids meal which again can't have been terrible as our 2 year old whoofed it down but had to ask several times if we could get her included drink and then the same thing for her icecream. Wait staff were unenthusiastic and hard to come by to initially order our food and didn't come back to order more drinks throughout our meal.

Pub food should be simple, well-priced and tasty. The food we had here ticked none of the boxes. It was flavourless, poorly prepared, took forever to arrive and was way, way over-priced.

Great steak. I ate here last night on the spur of the moment, ordered the eye fillet with prawn topper and mushroom sauce, was great!, only thing that disappointed me was the prawns where very small and only four for $10 extra, the steak was perfect I ordered medium and it came as medium,...salad had no tomatoes which was a bit strange...pretty good pub food
Tim
Very overpriced considering the quality of the food. Menu description did not describe actual food. Paid $39 for the hamilton stack, got 1/4 of a deep fried soft shell crab and instead of actual crispy prawns, recieved prepackaged frozen prawn twists available at any major food grocer. Steaks were not cooked accordingly, ordered medium and got rare, which tasted bitter and somehow burnt despite being undercooked. Our entree of squid was overcooked and not prepared properly. Would not recommend wasting your time or money here. Was also short changed for a drink purchase.

Rubbish. As a local have had the chance to eat here a number of times and every time its crap, way over priced, over cooked, limp salad and cold to boot. its a shame because apart from the crap food its a nice pub. All Grazers pubs are the same, if you want to eat good pub food go to anywhere but graziers.
Chris Bermingham
Rubbish. Went here with a party of 10 for a going away dinner. Even on a Monday night with $10 off the steaks are not good value for money. One person got the duck fat potato side, no duck fat in sight and tasted like boiled potato, waste of money. Our table had water dripping from the air - con all over it. Considering we were the only large party on these tables at the end why put us under an obvious preexisting problem. On the whole people had an OK time but I would never come here again and would suggest that you don't either. Someone insisted I add that the duck was delicious but I assume her pallette is off and has never eaten nice food before and she may be a touch retarded.

Good Food. Five of us ate here 19th Oct. Various steaks, salmon, duck, and pork belly. Duck was average - too much potato, not very much duck. Other dinners were fine, though the T-Bone was not up to scratch (undersize for what it was supposed to be). The Rib-Eye was perfect. Salmon and pork belly very good. I note a recent comment about the mushroom sauce - two of us had the mushroom sauce and could not fault it. I thought it was one of the best I have had (never been to "Morrisons"). It was a busy Saturday night, we did not book but they found us tables. Bloody pricey!
Emma
Expensive crap pub food with no table service. never again. $35 gor burnt average steak worth $10

Had lunch there on a Friday which was so busy I was surprised but we got sat quickly and our waitress was very efficient and polite. I ordered the duck and nick had the pie. We ordered oysters to start with. Both entrees and mains were great. I would say my duck was slightly over for my liking but extremely tasty. The young lady who I presume was in charge as she was wearing a different shirt than the rest of the girls checked on us several times and then again before offering us coffees. For a pub I was so pleasantly shocked. Will be back and bringing the family this time.

Taste Plus. Quality tastes, great atmosphere and staff who are on the ball!
Salmon featured for me on my Friday night visit with a friend. It was fresh, cooked rare as I like it and with sauce on the side...the 'on the side' was a late change by me and friendly staff made it happen! AND...what's not to like about a finishing with a quality chocolate desert. It was delicious!!
I'm starting to accumulate a few nights at the Hammo as I pass through Bris and they have all been good. Time with friends is valuable and dining at Graziers is a top way to do it.

My mate from out of town and I ate six very different meals at the Hammo Hotel last night, and each course we left clean plates. Delicious seafood and steak meals of perfect portion sizes, were all served by enthusiastic staff. A very professional unit worked hard on a busy night. Excellent positive vibe making sure everyone felt special. Congrats to management and we will be back to enjoy more of that great iconic pub.
Elizabeth
Food was lovely, portion sizes were huge which is good because the prizes are a little steep but you get what you pay for. kids meals were great size and staff were a pleasure both attentive and patient with the children. Was a Tuesday night and on leaving we were given a 20%off voucher for the following Tuesday. We will be using it happily.
Elizabeth
Staff are mainly miserable and will leave you standing at the bar for a good ten minutes. Ordered a bigger steak and got two small ones overcooked stuck together.
Ali Waugg
Wonderful service, great indoor kids area. However, food was disappointing. Ordered pumpkin and haloumi salad - no haloumi, they offered calamari instead which was fine but there was a major lack of pumpkin. Also wanted the shanks- ran out, so ordered pie instead- the pie was reminiscent of Coles or woolies! Kids meals were small and chicken was dry. Side chips came without the aoli as stated on menu.
Probably won't go back.

Nice steak at Neil Perry prices. Nice ribe eye but way overpriced make sure you get beer from sports bar $4 for a peroni or $8 if you by the same Peroni in Graziers restaurant. Give the prawn Twisters a miss.
Ben W
Just ok and too expensive. Our steak was ok, service was fast and friendly, but I do have to say it's over priced. A pub meal is great, but not at a restaurant price.

A very disappointing birthday lunch. We ate at the Graziers Steakhouse yesterday 28 November 2012 and were very disappointed with the meal. My mother claiming she just had the "worst chicken parmigiana ever" as it was overcooked, burnt and leathery with a limp, unappetizing salad and a few dry chips to go with it. Two of us ordered the Yak Battered Barramundi which was a tiny piece of fish the size of the palm of one's hand and the batter was leathery and tough and couldn't be eaten. The salad was also limp and the chips were very dry and hard. The steak came with a very ordinary caesar salad. We were extremely dissatisfied with the food and will never go back there. The table service was excellent.

Great Meals at a fair price. Excellent meals and fair sizes. The only let down was the service by waitresses that seemed more interested on how they would look once their shifts finished.
A great steak and even cooked well. The chefs change to the menus seems suprizing but time will tell.

Awsome. The wagyu here is fantastic and great value. Very surprised buy the level of service and quality of food!

Good prices n nice variety. atmosphere is buzzing on a friday night. bar, restaurant n outdoor seating options make this place suitable for all occasions. as for the wagyu rump i ordered mediumrare. probably overcooked to medium. ceasr salad crisp with copious bacon and cheese. chips crunky and seasoned well. 7.5/10 for the experience.

Great Steaks. We regularly go to the Hamo for lunch on a Saturday or dinner on a Monday night when they have $10 off the graizer steaks. I always get the 180g Fillet Mignon and it is consistently good. My husband gets either the Caesar salad, the lunch rump or the Wagyu steak and has always given good feedback on all meals. The service is great and the food is always out in a reasonable time frame. All in all a good local pub.
Simon
Great Pub, Great Meal. Need I say more? Try and go on a night when the steaks are cheaper. Either way the outdoor dining area out the back is nice and the general atmosphere is good, not too feral even on a Friday/Saturday.
BamBam
Standard but pricey pub fare. For value, visit on a Monday night when the steaks are $10 off. The food is merely adequate for the price. Service can be haphazard; don't make the mistake of queuing to order your food if sitting in the room on the Racecourse Rd side. Once you finally reach the counter and order, you're sent back to your seat and a waiter is summonsed to take the order again.

Good for large groups. Graizers Steakhouse at the Hamilton Hotel offers the obligatory steaks as well as a selection of salads, chicken, pasta and risotto dishes for the non-steak eaters. I've eaten at Graizers about 4 times and all times the kitchen offered no flexibility to any changes to the menu. When asking for anything like a sauce on the side or adding chicken to a risotto they are generally forgotten. Salads etc are pre-made so a request for no onion for example is not possible. The food has been consistent, quality is fine, meals are served quickly, not the best steaks I've eaten but for a relaxed pub meal it's fine, cocktails defiantly in the amateurs division though so stick to standard drinks. We by chance had a friend's birthday lunch and another dinner at Graizers on the same day, both large groups of 10. The Manager commented when he saw us in the line for dinner that we were still there. My friend made a joke about earning a dessert and the manager replied with 'I don't ever give free things to customers when they ask' interesting outlook considering the amount of money we'd contributed that day. When looking for a quick meal especially for large groups as each person orders straight to the counter it's a venue to consider.
TWARH
The steak was cooked perfectly but the mushroom sauce was nowhere near as good as Morrisons. The birthday girl told me that the mushroom sauce at Morrison's is the head chef's own personal recipe. That explains it.
