Review Pan Thai Restaurant - Brisbane

FutureTheory
With Golden Buddha sadly closing its doors, the hunt was on for another place to appease my Thai food cravings - unfortunately I chose this place. The food was bland and flavorless, the meat cooked within an inch of its life. The fried rice was oily, mundane and yuck. We ended up throwing out the lot and eating a frozen pizza. Quite frankly I felt this was absolute slop.

Had a few meals here. It's the location that counts. They could do lost worse and I'd still give 5 Star. Updated! The rice super aromatic very delicious. All there Curries were awesome. This place has definitely approved :))) the decor is deceptive!!

the rice wasn't fried properly and hard. it looked like old ..... and all the food I ordered it didn't like original thai taste..

Went to Pan Thai for the first time and we really liked the food and friendly service. Quality was awesome, fresh and well cooked. We ordered 6 meals and the bill was around $100.00 so really good value. Highly recommended.

Had takeaway which was delivered promptly. However the food was underwhelming.. overly sweet with no depth of flavour and the same chunky vegetables used to bulk the meal made it all much of a muchness. Large lettuce leaf making up bulk of papaya salad. Disappointed.

Simply the best Thai Brisbane has to offer. We have been loyal customers for over 10 years and we have never been disappointed by this hidden gem.

We have been visiting Pan Thai for many years as we are local, and always loved the food as it is authentic and tastes fantastic. The menu is updated regularly and the staff are happy and friendly. Some people get a bit funny waiting for good food - but as with any great business, they can get busy, very busy, especially with take away orders.

Pan Thai always delivers fresh and tasty food!! Have never been disappointed and we are regulars. Great outdoor seating now available. So happy this little gem is just metres from my home. The bar now has craft beers on tap which is just the icing on the cake!!

I really love the Thai here, however, sometime the wait times on a Friday and Saturday night can be extremely long. Food is always fresh and tasty with great flavours. My favourite place for delicious Tom Kha.

-----27 Feb, 2016-----
The food was pretty good at Pan Thai last night but our dinner was affected by a number of other factors including a large party for a 50th birthday. They played 80s classics way too loud and at one point were giving speeches (with microphone). We couldn't hear ourselves talk. We waited for menus. We waited at the counter to order (for ages as the large party was trying to settle their account) only to have to walk to the bar at the other end to wait to order drinks. Then the main meals came with the entrees. This place has such huge potential but fails to make the most of it.

-----14 Dec, 2013-----
Very casual and not the best Thai meal I've ever had (very mild) but somehow I like it. The restaurant has a lovely outlook onto the bowling green with city glimpses and they don't mind the kids running around on the green. I wouldn't go here on a date but it's great for a large group and great for families as they have a kids menu (not in their website - it includes fish and chips and nuggets and chips). The average meal is about $12 so it's also great value.

No capability to do good service. It is difficult for me to do this review as I can not say that this restaurant is absolutely good or bad.
My friends and I had a dinner at this restaurant not very long ago. The food dishes we had such as Roast Duck, Massaman curry, Sweet and sour with pork and Green curry with chicken, were beautiful. I can say that the food was awesome and fantastic, although it was served in a not very nice atmosphere.

The thing that I really need to complain is if you do not have capabilities to do good service, DO NOT receive the group bookings. This restaurant was having very good staffs, I can say. The two waitresses was working hard. They worked fast but I could still see smiles on their faces. The people in the kitchen also never stopped doing their job. The problem is that it may be not enough staffs to perform and offer quality of service, not even in the standard level. I felt pity to them all. I was not very happy with what we experienced at the restaurant but I could not say to them as I though they already did their best.

We booked a table to come eat food at the place. The restaurant should understand that we planed, we intended to come and we expected the service just in the level that the restaurant supposes to offer. But what we got was just water on table and food after ages of waiting.

That was a bad experience for us but it would be even worst for people who were having food from the hot bar. There was no food in it while lots of people stood there waiting. Some tried to get dry and sticky FOOD that burnt in it. It was horrible to me.

The restaurant is having good chef, hard-working wait staffs and brilliant Thai food.
The only thing it is lacking is capabilities to do good service.

Think again if you plan you function at the restaurant!!!

Hidden Gem. Red Curry Duck is spectacular and the home made Thai Fish Cakes are to die for. Highly Recommended.

To Thai for !!!. Although the place isn't the easiest on the eye, its totally forgiven once you taste their food .... and the year round Christmas decorations are quickly forgotten ! I adore the Green Curry and the Chilli & Basil Chicken, its always fresh and the service is friendly.
TIP : We have learnt not to order takeaway too late on a Friday, I think its their busiest night and you have to wait a while.

I've been to this restaurant many times as my parents used to have the tennis centre down the road. I absolutely love it. Situated at the bowls club it is not fancy but boy does it deliver. I play tennis which has enabled me to travel the world and my favourite cuisine is Thai. I can honestly say that this Thai restaurant has easily some of the best Thai food I have ever tasted. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. I would recommend the beef massman which is so good. This is one of those hidden gems that Thai and food lovers should go to. Enjoy!

Not the best. Visited Pan Thai for their buffet on Friday. Opened at 6pm with hardly any entree or rice available. Food that was on offer was below temperature. Very poor.

To Eliza.... Why you siad you will never eat our food again, Eliza? I just saw you and your friend had dinner here on last Friday night.

Best Thai so far in Brisbane. Big call I know and yes I have eaten in many Thai restaurants. We were lucky enough to live 2 minutes walk from this restaurant for a year in 2010 and recently went back there. It has only improved since our last visit and its such a great night out for a family.
Kids are looked after with Western style foods if they are not into Asian and they are even allowed to play on one of the greens.
Food is fresh and authentic and always served with a smile - the decor is very simple but who cares when you can walk outside with your drink and see million dollar view of the city!

Im normally dont do review as im too lazy , however, I love food at this lovely restaurent , try this crispy basil prawn, nice!!!!
I have no problem with their spring roll, for sure!!! If someone want to go for Thai food, go pan Thai !!!

Highly recommend. Unfortunately as many businesses experience I see there are poor comments from people who have no real intention on commenting on the facts but rather say untrue comments trying to justify personal grievances against a company which is successful. I have been coming to this restaurant for years and can't rate it more highly with service and food quality. If you look at the Camp Hill Bowls facebook 1600+ visits and so many fantastic reviews of the food through urbanspoon, amazing city views and fantastic service this is the place to go for quality. Child friendly so I'm amazed that more families aren't down at the club, exceptional work keep it up!

Do not recommend. I worked there for about 6 months last year. I saw a caterpillar once in the lettuce and the cleanliness of the restaurant, especially where the food is prepared, could not possibly meet industry standards. Food such as prawn toast and spring rolls are all frozen for long periods of time and are just heated in oil for the customer.

After working there I would not eat the food ever again.

I cannot belive this place isn't packed. We enjoyed amazing food and bar staff wanting to bend over back ward to meet our every need. I can't wait to make this my local. Above all sensational food. Not afraid of a bit of chilli and tapas to make ur knees weak!!!
Reza
Highly recommended, good food and they deliver as well
