Jamaica Blue Westfield

We are regulars at Jamaica Blue, Indooroopilly so we expected the coffee here to be satisfying. We stroll in at 12.30pm to a near empty Cafe. I ask for a medium Cappuccino which comes with 1.5 shots.

The coffee is hot, surprisingly strong and flavourful. A good coffee from the talented Barista. Thank you!

Came here for a quick lunch because I was curious about their limited time “Blue Latte” and have always walked past this place but never tried their food. I ordered their signature Blue Latte and the “Avocado Smash & Maple Bacon”.

The prices was very average for a cafe ($16.90) for the dish and ($3.50) for the latte. The Blue Latte was visually stunning! Even better that it actually tastes great (it isn’t just for looks!). The Latte was a Jaffa-flavoured hot drink with white chocolate and blue curacao so it was not overly sweet and it was something unique and different. It tasted very smooth (not too creamy or milky) - easy to drink and did not have a overpowering chocolate taste to it (I do recommend to give it a try!)

The “Avocado Smash & Maple Bacon” was very interesting. I usually don’t ever eat sweet things for breakfast so I was a bit hesitant when I read that there was Maple syrup. However, surprisingly all of the flavours worked really well together. The onion, tomatoes, coriander and lemon salsa balanced well with the smoothness taste of the avocado and the taste of the yolk of the poached egg on top of sourdough toast.

The staff were very friendly and the food came out quite fast. The cafe is located in a corner so it was quiet as there wasn’t a lot of people but I do like how you get a bit of privacy as well as a bit of a view of people passing by inside the shopping center.

I really enjoyed my light lunch at Jamaica Blue, after a walk around garden city. My mum had the blue berry scone with lemon curd and cream and I had the smoked salmon, avocado and cream cheese bagel. The food was prepared very quickly and the service was good. There is a variety of things to choose from but they are in the cool box in the cafe so they may not be made fresh
