My friends and I had lunch here last Sunday and we ordered the pajeon (spring onion pancake), 8pcs of fried chicken and a stew (spicy pork backbone with vegetables).
The pajeon was slightly burnt. The fried chicken had an awesome crunchy batter, not too oily or dry and was very moreish. The stew was pretty impressive as there was about 5 big pieces of the pork backbone and my friends commented that the soup was very delicious.
Definitely an enjoyable food experience.
Stopped in for a quick lunch. Only had bokkeum noodles but they were fantastic. Definitely be back to try more. Friendly staff. Tidy little restaurant
The best Jokbal (#18) and Pork Bone Soup (#16) in the town! They are super tasty and also very generous with the portion. For other dishes are average or above, but these two menus are worth driving all the way from the city!
The workers were very nice! Ordered the spicy bone soup and it was massive and hearty! I loved it. Also, I went at lunch time because it was cheaper :)
Firstly, the food was great. I went with a Korean friend and he ordered everything and the food was just fantastic. The pork, the spicy pork and some kind of noodle. Unfortunately, the waitresses were late and unenthusiastic. They didn't give us a menu and we had to try quite hard to get their attention. There weren't even many customers; I don't understand how they could of missed us for so long.
Would go again, just don't expect the waitresses to be useful.
Located next to Lemon Chilli is this authentic Korean food eatery. Dined in on one Thursday night and we were the only non-Korean diners. There was only one lovely waitress looking after the whole dining area. We ordered the set menu including the Braised Pork Belly with Traditional Kimchi and Hot spicy Chicken Thigh. I loved the Pork Belly to go with the homemade sauce wrapped with various herbs and lettuce. I also glad to see the chef selected the chicken thigh for our particular chicken order. The thigh meats provide good juicy texture and the degree of hotness and spiciness (we ordered mild only) was just fitted for my palate. The chicken dish was a perfect partner with the cold pomegranate wine, which was similar to the Japanese Plum wine but brew up with pomegranates. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, which warrants my return.
Best pork bone soup in town. large portion of soup . Always short of staff n poor service. Long break time in between lunch n dinner also recommend bulgogi soup.
Ordered the fried chicken dish, spicy thigh dish, octopus noodle dish along with a few sides. The service is reasonable but... noticed other tables who arrived after us getting their orders before us but staff are quite friendly. The restaurant is probably more welcoming to korean patrons to be honest. The food is really delicious and great though and worth the price. Pretty decent korean restaurant. Would give a higher rating if service was a tad better.
If you want to try real traditional Korean soups , visit DON DON restaurant.. This soup is not easy to try for non Koreans. But Korean loves to eat this type soups.
"Haejangguk" a warming bowl of slow-cooked broth, with that bit of spice and asian flavour to remind me of home?
Haejangguk is a Korean spicy (adjustable) pork bone soup with fermented soybean paste, hot pepper flakes and lots of vegetables-- a one-pot meal, though Koreans will still have it with rice.
The soup was sooo good and it made me feel warm and happy and Korean. This soup is soooo rich with flavour!
People who are up at dawn (taxi drivers, travelers, market workers in Korea)like to eat this as an eye opener soup. Many people claim it works great for recovering from hangovers after a late night of drinking. Its restorative properties are reputed to clear even the sleepiest or most hung-over people. Bones are boiled hard, and chopped radish, radish leaves, cabbage, green onions, and fresh blood (direct from the slaughter house) are added to stock to make a highly nutritious soup.
Have dined here on a few different occasions. The atmosphere is really relaxing. The place is nice and clean, they have a basin there for you to wash your hands before and after your meal which is nice. The menu offers a wide range of delicious dishes which are decently priced as well. Food is always served hot especially the yummy soups! Perfect for winter time! The workers are also very friendly and have had no problems answering any questions I had about the dishes on the menu. Would definitely recommend.
There are tasty and delicious Korean food!I order deep fried chicken 、jokbal pork 、pork bone soup、Spicy chicken and cheese、spring onion pancake. Ans I highly recommended the pork bone soup~~
Food was pretty good, lovely tender jokbal and bossam. The chicken giblets are the best but the vegetables accounted for more than half the dish, but we don’t mind because it’s that yummy. The pork was not too bad but not the best we had in Brisbane. Service staff was friendly. Overall, would definitely go there again but maybe won’t order the same soup.
Awesome menu!! .nice and quiet and staff very friendly. Authentic Korean style.
I love this place, actually better than Jokbal in Korea
Big plate. Reasonable price. A lot of veggies!
Great traditional Korean food. We got Jokbal (pig trotters) take away and it was absolutely delicious!!
