*clothes off* ups?

Don’t worry, don’t worry, this won’t be an over 18 post, no.

But you might want to get up and personal with this one 😍

Bare Naked Bowls was created to give real food to everyone. And it all started with Josh and Ashley Porteous, the founders, when they met while volunteering in Arusha, Tanzania in 2013! They were so passionate about giving more to others that they opened a charity together… but unfortunately got sick with some nasty parasites whilst volunteering in Nepal.

And that made them realise that they needed to focus a little more on their health and they decided to change their diet and lifestyle… guess what? Losing their acaivirginity and becoming completely obsessed with super foods & organic foods! They learnt where the food actually came from, how it was produced and obviously the major effects it has on our health. They learnt that healthy living shouldn’t mean depriving yourself and that fresh delicious ingredients bursting with wholesome nutrients should be available to everyone.

That is why they opened the first Bare Naked Bowls in Sydney that has now expanded to different locations, and Newstead in Brisbane that I have just visited!

And not only do they have and amazing and sustainable business that I am very proud to support by when you dine in, you are also contributing to their non-for-profit charity The International Brothers & Sisters House, that helps orphan children through higher education in Nepal and Tanzania. 1% of every purchase goes to the children in need.

With such an ethos, I definitely want to get in this place many many times 🥰

The location is quite central in my opinion very close to Brisbane CBD and very accessible with a short walk from it. The place is not very big, but I guess that’s not the idea behind this place and I see it as a location where are you can have a quick delicious brekkie after a workout or your usual go to coffee. it’s conveniently located so you can stop by, get what you need and move with your busy scheduled life. There are some seats inside in a small area outside where if you do you have time and want to just rest for a little while, while enjoying one of their menu items, it’s also a great option

They seem to really know what I do because service is fast efficient and they are there to please the customer as a first basis. when it comes to the acai bowls, my tip is to see if you’re more of a fruity person or more chocolate craving and see what the blend has (yes, because all the bowls are different in the base!). From their menu, they bowls that I have tried were equally impeccable, each one with their different tastes and particularities, but I have to say that I absolutely loved each one of them and I would definitely recommend! Size is also fantastic and the consistency was outstanding and just on point in every single one, so there is no wrong answer here 👏👌 Here is what I tried from their menu:

- Manly Bowl - a blend of organic acai berry, with banana, strawberry and organic apple juice, and toppings of Irrewarra nut granola, banana, strawberries, goji berries, blueberries, raw been pollen and bush honey. Absolutely a must try! The bowl is absolutely packed with goodness and it is impossible not to love it! This is a more fruity option in terms of base that I personally love and it’s usually my favourite and I’m a very sweet tooth 😂 reminded me of definitely strawberries in each spoonful, naturally sweet strawberries! Topping wise, loved the goji and thought it paired really nicely with the fruity base and all the fruits were fresh and just right in quantities 👏 nothing to change to this bowl - it’s absolutely perfect!

- Rio Bowl - with organic acai berry, banana, strawberry and raw coconut water, and toppings of Irrewarra nut granola, banana, strawberries, organic hemp seeds, raw cacao nibs and house made natural peanut butter drizzle this is a bowl for the nut butter lovers! The base is slightly less sweet so that the topping of peanut butter doesn’t get too overwhelming and it’s just perfection 👏 my friend had mostly this bowl and I tried it and I could not that not only the colour was darker (because in comparison to the previous bowl is doesn’t have the berries) and also definitely not as sweet. The granola and peanut butter combo was amazing and so were the fruits and no wonder this is one of the best sellers. Definitely recommend it too!

- Glow Bowl - with organic acai berry, banana, mango, macadamia milk and coffee collagen, and toppings of coconut yoghurt, cacao buckinis, cacao nibs, banana, strawberries this was one of those bold bowls! Actually the base is quite strong and that is because of the collagen coffee added to it from Before You Speak Coffee! If you have not tried this brands I would definitely recommend it and not only does the cafe use their products in their menu and items but they actually also sell the entire products themselves! Personally I would pick the other two bowls over this one but I have to say that if you are a lover of black coffee you’ll probably pick this as number one! The taste of coffee isn’t very strong no, but it is certainly there and makes not only the colour darker but also a more stronger and roasted taste to it, tiiiiiiiny sour I would even dare to say. Toppings were more simple than the other bowls, I’m assuming because the base itself is quite complex! The coyo blends very well there and so does the chocolate granola!

- Yogurt Mango Bomb - with organic natural yogurt, mango puree, coconut chia pudding, and some Irrewarra nut granola, organic coconut chips, strawberry, kiwi and bush honey, this is a literal bomb! I had to say that the highlight of this bowls is, in my opinion, the granola that you can find in almost each of their bowls! It just makes everything so pleasant and enjoyable day again and even if you’re not a coconut yogurt person versus and an acai bowl (because if you’re like me you’ll always pick acai over yogurt 😂) I’m pretty sure that you will love this one for a morning pick me up for an afternoon tea. Everything was fresh and delicious and my friends absolutely devoured it!

- T.J Bowl - we also tried one of the savoury meals and this one is particular was vegan, gluten free and refined sugar free with leafy spinach and kale greens, that were absolutely fresh and nourishing, a portion of seasoned bio dynamic brown rice, some delicious marinated chickpeas, black beans, incredibly cooked and tender jack BBQ pulled jackfruit, some red bell peppers, garden herbs and a side of homemade secret chipotle dressing that was slightly spicy 😂 overall there is no other meal that could define health and if you’re craving something that isn’t cold, this is definitely an option!

- Superfood Toast Smashed Avo & Cali Blend - we also had a go on their avocado toast! But not just any toast! It actually comes with a special blend of garlic, onion, salt, hemp, sesame and chia seeds and size is absolutely incredible👏 with the taste being fantastic! So much avocado and nourishment here that you’ll definitely feel satisfied and your avocado toast game is definitely going to get a make over👌

- Blue-Nana - OMG OMG 👏 if you only try one item of the menu I would definitely recommend this one. The acai bowls are absolutely fantastic like I said, and so is all the menu, but this woooooow! If I thought it wasn’t possible to get something even better than this surpassed all expectations 👏 with banana, naked blue spirulina, vegan vanilla protein powder, cinnamon and organic coconut milk this is a true ocean dream smoothie. They told me that they actually had a secret menu where they featured this type of mix on the base of a smoothie bowl but they haven’t been doing it lately, and I told them that it will be an absolute must because I’m pretty sure that many people would love to try this blend in a bowl! Seriously, this is deliiiiiiiicious and it’s quite hard not to love every ingredient here 😍

- Naked Berry - with blueberry, housemate natural peanut butter, banana, organic hemp protein, macadamia milk and bush honey this one is a little more towards a nutty taste that o usually place is second versus a sweet fruity taste but it was as delicious as al the other items and actually my friend loved this one more than the blue-nana smoothie. The final product is quite beautiful too with the little particles of the berries and just tried these two, it’s possible to say that they do not only great innovative tasting smoothies but let me tell you that size wise is INCREDIBLE too 👏

I don’t think there was one thing about this place that I did not love and I am pretty sure that I will come back very soon because everything on the menu was and sounds absolutely fantastic. I have items that will please every single dietary preference and not just one or two options but actually multiple ones where different varieties are possible 👏 I think the whole concept of the franchise is great and that they run quite well 👌 I think that having seasonal flavours like pumpkin spice or salted caramel would be terrific options for both the smoothies and the smoothie bowls and I can’t wait to go back again and try new things! (Also, coffee is absolutely AMAZING 👏 and just for that I would make it a regular! These guys get a solid 11/10!

Went here with the partner for a weekday breakfast. We ordered coffees each (smooth, good strength) as well as the 'Power Bowl' to share, which was fresh and delicious.
Limited indoor seating available. Friendly and efficient service. Reasonable prices. Difficult getting a parking space nearby (only street parking available).
Overall, a small cafe offering fresh acai and poke bowls.

Amazing selection of healthy fresh food. Been there twice and definitely going again! Cute little spot only thing is, it’s hard to find a park.
