Review Frankies Brasserie - Broadbeach

This place was recommended by a magazine. We got here at 6pm and it as empty. It stayed that way until 10pm aside from 1 other table. The service was great simply because it was so quiet. The seafood wasn't as fresh as I had hoped and most of the dishes were over cooked. The marinara fettucini was very underwhelming, not worth the $38 price tag. Would not recommend this place at all.

Had a beautiful mid week dinner here with a large group. Everything was fantastic. The service was top class, they looked after all our dietary requirements and fussy eater's. The wait staff were all very polite and knowledge about both the drinks menu and the food menu. The food was beautifully presented cooked with fresh ingredients and tasted superb. The whole group thoroughly enjoyed the evening. A great up and coming addition to the local restaurant scene. Just what Broadbeach needs.

Having read some of these reviews, I can’t help thinking that some of these people have got mixed up and reviewed a different restaurant. We had a lovely meal here, and at very reasonable prices. My husband loves his oysters, and these Sydney Rock Oysters didn’t disappoint. Our prawn cocktails were delicious, and very nicely presented. Our main courses, one each of steak and barramundi were very nice and we had a nice bottle of cava which is the most reasonably priced sparkling wine we’ve had during our holiday on the Gold Coast. I love the little things that show care has been taken, like the presentation of the oysters on a bed of pebbles and shells, and a very attentive host who made sure our glasses were always topped up. A little gem!

Frankie is so polite, welcoming, and knowledgable. We had by far the nicest meal here since arriving in Australia. The seafood is fresh delicious and cooked to absolute perfection. It was an unforgettable experience. We ate fresh rock oysters, scallops, and mussels. Also on Sunday the pastas are 1/2 price and I really don't think you can get a better value for money anywhere in the Gold Coast. We chose the seafood pasta and there were so many kinds of different and fresh seafood in there. Whether you are a local or a visitor I highly recommend eating here. Thank you Frankie!!!!

My wife and I went to this restaurant after reading great reviews, so we had high expectations! We ordered: - Oysters - prawn cocktail - beef burger - pasta - olives Well, let me tell you in bullet points: - the service was terrible, the waiters were all confused as to how the pasta dish was served and what fish of the day it was. The main dishes also came out whilst we had just tucked into the starters!!? - the seafood was not fresh - the prawn cocktail came in a basic sauce and was not as described (no lettuce). So basically mixed ketchup with mayonnaise and put prawns on top for you to deconstruct - the burger was shameful. Small, overcooked and just simply underwhelming. Would expect better from a cafe in a public swimming pool - pasta was the worst. It wasn’t what was described to us when we ordered because the waiters were confused with a previous style they cooked. The seafood was not fresh and the dish was bland - olives were spot on and very nice To be honest; with everything being said; the worst part of this experience was the customer service. We were told that the chef had to suddenly return to Ireland due to personal reasons and they had to rush a chef into the kitchen that was not familiar with the menu..... I understand this is unfortunate but this is not an excuse that should be told to customers not is it my problem as a paying customer.... the waiter then proceeded to argue about what food they would be charging us even though we only ate the olives. If it were my restaurant, I would give the food and drinks for free and I would have compensated for absolutely ruining our date night which ended in us having to eat next door!! It would have been a small expense to put our drinks on the house, compared to an angry couple leaving the restaurant feeling compelled to warn everyone else about not making the same mistake as us! Guys... you need to sort this out; not impressed

My partner and I ate here tonight. We tried the prawn cocktail which was very nice. We were disappointed with the potatoe gnocchi. The sauce was out of a supermarket jar and the dish was luke warm somewhat cold. We ordered two glasses of the house red it came out icy cold from fridge and unknown with no name what it was we were actually drinking. We also ordered the tuna it was not tuna. We were quite ill after eating there and won't be ever going back. The place seems to always be empty no wonder why. Very disappointed.

The most perfectly cooked seafood I've ever tasted(and I grew up on the coast eating freshly caught seafood). Service was great and the caramelized pineapple dessert is to die for. A must try in Broadbeach.

We celebrated my mum's 80th at Frankie's, the food delicious and fresh, the service spot on, the music great! That Sunday there was live local music. What a find! Fun food and frivolity at Frankie's.
