Had a return visit with the family. I love the small Vietnamese places around Adelaide but if you're a bit unsure about Vietnamese food this is a good place to start as it's comfortable, with a good winelist and a very explained menu. We started off with roll your own cold rolls with pork balls and spring rolls. The crispy pork was so good we ended up ordering another serve. The salt and pepper squid was tender, the bok choy with garlic was delicious and the duck was tender and juicy. The rice hotpot was great and even had the crunchy layer on the bottom which we all fought over. Good service. Can be busy so it pays to book.

The wife and I visited for dinner after a busy work week. Went for the $70 banquet for two. Lovely modern decor and feels quite fresh. Took a bit to get a seat and the waiter appeared a bit tentative and shy. Still, ordered and drinks arrived. Lovely crisp white table cloth and nice wine glass for the NZ Marlborough Savignon Blanc! Asparagus soup delicate and the cold rolls generous size, subtle flavour with the heat in the associated peanut sauce, which was lovely. For mains to share, with sizzling beef the standout. Great flavour. Salt and pepper squid had a delicate feel and tingly sensation in flavour. Fried rice enjoyable and interesting. The cold chicken salad was refreshing. All up, a lovely meal and we certainly left feeling full. I'd suggest the waiters could serve a bit more, as I was interested in sampling a coffee but gave up waiting, and I mentioned the bothersome fly and mixed views as to how to tackle said fly but it continued to be bothersome. If not for these two things, would've hit a 4.5. Overall, a lovely time and we'll be back.
My favourite DIY sugarcane prawn and BBQ pork ball rice paper rolls restaurant. Like the 15% takeaway discount for order over $50. The rice hot pot and marinated pork chops are always liked by my family and Vietnamese friends.
Dropped in without a booking on night and were quickly accommodated. Have been here an few times before and have never been disappointed. Food and service are both good.
I love that Vietnam Sunrise is in my neighbourhood. I have had takeaway too many times to note and have loved it every time. I've now eaten in twice.
The place is spacious and clean. They get quite busy so it gets quite loud, the service is reasonable. However, the food has been consistently delicious. I highly recommend the Flame Grilled Pork Balls and Flame Grilled Prawn Meat, served with various herbs, lettuce, vermiculite, amazing peanut sauce and of course, rice paper to roll in! It's not only delicious but it's also a lot of fun!
Beautiful fresh food would definately recommend this place! Has a seperate page for vegetarians on the menu.
Really great food but have to say very slow service, waiting staff were run off their feet ! We arrived and waited at least 20 mins before someone came to take our drinks order ! And that was only after we had to call a waitress over ...once our dinner order was taken meal was brought out very promptly.
Great atmosphere, prompt service and every dish was fresh and bursting with flavours. I highly recommend any of the entrees and for main the roast duck was the favourite. Order the rice hotpot to accompany mains - it's to die for!
Fantastic!. The highlight of my three course meal was the flame grilled pork balls and the braised coconut chicken. This place is tucked away in an unremarkable location, next to a laundromat and a supermarket, but you absolutely must try it.
Amazing! Our new Fav!. A colleague in the area recommended this place. I used to live down the road from there, but never ventured in because it didn't look like the type of place I might like to visit. The plum duck is utterly amazing - and that's an understatement.
We also had the chicken curry with rice and I am so over the moon that I've finally found somewhere who does justice to this dish like Hare & Tortoise in London does it (any who've lived there/been to H&T would know what am talking about - addictive food you miss). I have been on a long and arduous search for many years since I've returned to Aus to finally stumble across this dish done properly again. You really got to try Curry Chicken, its utterly delicious! Sweet and creamy with the right amount of potatoes in it and the chicken not too full of yucky bits you have to pick out.
Everything when we got it looked yummy and appertising. The duck was portioned perfectly but we could have had a bit more in the Chicky curry.
One of my favourite restaurants in Adelaide. Awesome food, reasonable prices and lovely staff.

Our 'little gem' is no longer a secret. We are regulars at this lovely local Vietnamese restaurant since it opened it doors a few years ago now. You need to book to get a table, but it is worthwhile. We have never had a bad meal and always order something different.I love how they have slowly improved the decor. Service always excellent.
When my friends and I felt like Vietnamese tonight, we found this place after searching the web. We were impressed when we arrived. The interior of this restaurant is beautifully decorated and looks very elegant. The chairs are comfortable. The menu was great - there was a wide range of food and the dishes were fairly priced. The menu itself was also beautifully presented. The food was DELICIOUS. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The service was also great, the only complaint I'd have is that it took a little longer than I'd like to receive our entrees but all other meals arrived swiftly after that. Overall I was very impressed and will definitely be returning soon!

Traditional rice hot pot= yum!!!. This is my favourite resteraunt in Adelaide!! And they do take away!!! Try their traditional rice hot pot!! Make your own cold rolls at your table. It's great and the staff are very friendly!!!

What a hidden GEM!!!! Went there last night for my girlfriends grandmas birthday dinner. After hearing we were going to Vietnam Sunrise on heley beach rd, Brooklyn park, my exact words were "that sounds promising" expecting nothing more then a cheap sickening local Asian take away. I read some reviews on urban spoon on the way to the restaurant which lifted my spirits a little. When we arrived at the restaurant although not very visible from the street, the typical Asian love for ferry lights gave it away, walking through the door I was gob smacked by the interior and beautiful bar design, friendly staff and great service made the experience that much better, tried prawn toast for the first time and was so impressed with it and the other appetizers we had on the platters that came out. After the mains orders were taken it was as if the kitchen had telepathic powers cause it seemed the waitress walked in to drop of our order docket and walked straight out with our food!! I compared it to the jetsons where they had the machine that made their meals instantly, I had the roast pork belly as Vietnamese are known as the worlds best roasters! I loved it although not as good as the BBQ city roast pork but was good in its own right cause if the lettuce and pickled veg that came with it to make delicious wraps with!! All this washed down with a 333 Vietnamese beer.... In all was the best local Asian restaurant I have been to in Adelaide, highly recommended and very affordable, although I live on the other side of town I will make this a regular eatery from now on!!! Thanks vietnam sunrise for restoring my faith in local Asian restaurants!! You will make it far in this town so keep it up!!!!!!!
Weekends get full!. Modern decor and often full on weekends. Perhaps a little to noise for intimate dining but lots of regulars often visit. Takeaway service is also very efficient. recommend the lemon grass chicken.
Good, but not as good as Sunflower. We live within walking distance of this restuarant, and while the food is always "good", I cant help to compare to their cousins restuarant Sunflower. Food is never quite as good, and bill is always dearer. Still a great Vietnamese option in the Western Suburbs and it does offer a slightly classier interior than mose.
Great food here, loved the chicken coconut curry and the hot pot. Get around it

Colour and Yum!. Yummy, colourful, fresh dishes. We had the $32 banquet. Steamboat was a standout. Restaurant was very busy so our coffees were forgotten, but overall, a lovely experience.
Even if I didn't know one of the staff at Vietnam Sunrise, I still would have been able to tell that the owner has a lot of respect for the waiters and kitchen crew. And this is reflected in the charming service you get when you eat here. The food is among the best Vietnamese food available in Adelaide and every time I dine in I order too many dishes because it is just too hard to choose. This has been a go to a few times now and although it’s kind of shabby and a little older it remains a reliable and affordable night out. 3 of us adults with healthy appetites and matching thirsts ate too much and drank just enough for about 40.00 a head. Great food and attentive staff mean you can take your time and explore the substantial but anachronistic menu more each time. Some of the descriptions of most of the food on the menu are worth a visit on their own and are superb with delightfully devastating adjectives scattered playfully throughout reminding me of those “Keith Floyd” menus of the past. Just beware of the fish sauce in the veggie dish if that’s not your thing ! Enjoy!
