Happy to say we have found our new place for breakfast! From the service staff through to the skilled chef behind the scenes, your food was not only superb but very generous. All we can say is excellent and this humble place packs a punch. Owner Frank shows an abundance of pride and passion which is showcased by his love for food and superior barrister skills.

I discovered The Duke about 1 year ago and it has become a favorite. The staff are always friendly and Frank is welcoming. I did note that when Frank isn't in his staff on the floor can be a little sloppy and lack perception. I luv the bircher muesli and their Reuben is amazing. Their coffee is constantly good too. A nice cosy spot and i highly recommend it.
Great coffee and the mushroom dish was amazing. Smoked salmon was also very tasty. Definitely going back

Fantastic little café on Grantham st with a loyal local following. Coffee is always great, and their take away sandwiches are delicious. In the few times I have eaten in I have been really impressed by the The Duke big breakfast. It's weird to say it but the kale is somehow the most delicious thing on the plate. It's huge and filling and everything in the plate is good. Keep up the good work.
Not having any time pressure, I decided to stop in rather than grab a take away coffee as I had done before on a few occasions.
Decided on an Almond Croissant to accompany the really good coffee. Best move ever!
Hard to find something as good as this freshly made on premises.

The Duke of Grantham serves A+ coffee. They offer v60 pour over by Proud Mary and coffee by Melba. Frank and Joel possess excellent barista skills, executed with care and attention to detail. Their love of coffee really shows. Staff are very friendly, casual and polite. The menu present an interesting eclectic mix of New York and Japanese touches (chefs?) with Melbourne standard breakfast. Some great quick counter options.
Decor: light and airy. Keep in mind that this space is small! The owner has made a great use of space with seating. Yes, the kitchen is open to the cafe, which means you will experience the full range of food aroma the menu has to offer. Toilet is downstairs, something to keep in mind is you need accessible options.
First time here, and will certainly be back. Coffee was very good, breakfast even better. I had the roasted garlic mushrooms with feta, beetroot hummus, white bean puree, all on sourdough toast and poached eggs. Enjoyed every morsel, and served with a smile.
Fantastic food , very well priced! Coffee is A+ and very friendly service. The waffles were a massive winner, didn't feel sick afterwards. Reuben hit the spot. Looking forward to returning sooner than later.

It is a nice small coffee with very good quality coffee. They were having a Brazilian single origin bean which was quite good. Service is friendly, but the food took a while to arrive. It was good but nothing much to say about it. Still a good choice if you are around the area and specially if you are up for a takeaway coffee.

Years later this is still our favourite coffee in Melbourne and though we’ve moved away from the area we find excuses to come back for consistently amazing coffees and food. Frank and his team do an excellent job of not only making great food/drinks but also providing friendly service with a smile—not something easy to find these days!

Such an amazing cafe that we are lucky to have so close to home. Lots of interesting and delicious options on the menu so you can find something to suit everyone (including lots of vegan, vego and GF stuff). We’ve never had a bad coffee or meal and the conversations with the friendly owner and staff are just as amazing. I would highly recommend.

Friendly staff. This is a breafast(for brunch) burger and latte. The latter a bold dark roasted Melba coffee. The toasted brioche, relish, bacon, with scrambled eggs lightly delicious. Enjoyable value.
I'd give it 6 stars. Friendly staff with a cosy space. Our drinks were made quickly and with care, delicious! The menu is inclusive of intolerances and they were very accommodating. This amazing vegan lasagne was just what I need on a cold day after a few days on the slopes. They even have a few toys in the back corner to keep a couple of kids entertained.
