Review Spotted Dog At Railway Hotel - Bundaberg

Eating at The Spotted Dog is always a pleasure. Nestled inside the Railway Hotel, the food, service and atmosphere are great. Their menu covers a wide variety of foods that provides ample choice. Serving sizes are generous and some might need a take-home container, allowing them to enjoy the meal a second time. Whether your meal be a juicy melt in the mouth steak, a garden fresh salad or a plate of fresh seafood straight from the Bundaberg wharf, there's nothing on the menu I haven't enjoyed. Friendly and helpful are the words used to describe team looking after your dining experience. What ever your need, a friendly face is there to assist you. If you're looking for a great place to have lunch, a family gathering or a work party, choosing The Spotted Dog as a venue is never a disappointment.

Nicest food in Bundy. Just been today for my second time here and can’t fault a thing. Two of us both had two different starters and two different mains and each one was amazing. The gravy is really nice also. Will definitely be back. Staff lovely as well.

Pleasant bistro area, a bit noisy but it was quite busy. Staff were good and reasonably quick food service. Food was the only let down, average pub grub at best, it was a shame because we had heard good reviews about it. Nothing wrong with pub grub but it needs to be spot on. May have just been a bad day.

The staff are amazing.. we sat outside in the alfresco area cause of our dog and 1 of the ladies came out with water and a little bit of cooked chicken for him.. We had the roast pork and veg and it came with crackle and apple sauce.. Loved it and thank you for your excellent customer service .. smiles every where

What a great place book ahead as very busy but we didn't wait long for our meals, waygu 300g steak was perfectly cooked x 3 tender as and the lamb shank fell of the bone with every bit. Lots of staff so no wait for anything you want toppled of with ice cream cones, will return. Sorry didn't take any photos as forgot, I just started hoovering down the big steak.

Very interesting location with friendly staff and great food at good prices.Bigest piece of Barramundi I've ever been served and fresh. Interesting because the train line is around 20 metres from the side of the hotel restaurant. For train enthusiasts its a must. 3 stars only because of the patron noise inside all rooms are open to the restaurant as it's the main part of the hotel.

Pork Madagascar was my husband's pick - loved it. We were a party of 16 and all were more that happy with the food and service. Always assured of a warm welcome and efficient service.

Now this is a pub. Reasonable priced meals and beers/drinks plus friendly staff. Our meals were very nice and on time. The place was very busy, we were a group of 11. As swatsanagger says " we will be back."

Was throughly disappointed with tonight’s meal at the spotted dog. Me and my girlfriend have been regulars there since starting our farm work as there isn’t much quality food in bundaberg, but the spotted dog has been a hidden gem of a find since our first visit in the first couple of weeks. However tonight was very disappointing for a number of reasons. We only recently found out they actually offer a backpacker menu which we thought was brilliant as we had been paying full price for our meals up until this point which was hard as we work on such a budget. But when my girlfriend ordered the meal at the bar this evening she was rudely told by the barmaid that she had to order a drink to gain access to this menu, which we had no problem with but the tone of voice and attitude was unacceptable. Also, we were not asked if we would like any condiments with our meal at any point so I had to get up from the table and go ask for them myself at the counter where two members of staff left me waiting for around 2 minutes while they had a chat metres in front of me. The final annoyance was just as I had finished my meal and no sooner had I taken my final bite than was the plate swept from under me leaving my girlfriend to eat her dinner still which made us think we were being hurried out of the place. It will be a sour note to end on for one of our favourite places to eat during our 5 month stay of bundaberg and probably won’t have time to rectify these issues as we leave next week and will need to save every penny we have to continue our travels, especially if a drink purchase is a must when ordering from the menu!

I have been to this venue twice now and can't fault one thing about the exceptional customer service to the mouth watering food great value for money and so fresh the food was the highlight of my experience and it is definitely my new place to eat out �

We just had my daughter's 18th birthday here and on a very busy night with multiple parties going on the food came out quickly and the service was excellent as always. Our party was in the beer garden which was the perfect venue for us. Pato and the team delivered again, great food great service great night.

each year our company JRZ Homes, holds their annual Christmas party at the Spotted Dog Tavern. Patto and all of his staff are so friendly, accommodating and really go out of their way to make our party wonderful, which is why they are our only venue of choice. The food is amazing also. If you are thinking of holding a business function, private party or just want some where to go for a drink or meal, we highly recommend the Spotted Dog Tavern as our venue of choice :) thanks Patto.

The service I have received from all staff here has been nothing more than exceptional. The food, coffee and everything in between is consistent and nothing is ever too much to ask. It's quite refreshing to go to a venue like this. Thank you so much to all the staff for the way you have always looked after me and my friends and family. You are all simply fabulous �

Last night we were turned away from a new restaurant down the road for not booking. We walked into Spotted Dog (first time being there)WITHOUT BOOKING and were greeted by friendly staff and a great meal. Thank you. Family evening turned out lovely.

Without a doubt, the BEST Parmys in the country! To top it off, the service is spot on & it's all at a great price. Make sure you book early as it's a full house on a Friday/Saturday night.

I've never had a bad meal here. Lunch time meals are served within the hour so I can get back to work on time! It's great!
