We ordered the masala puri to start, mains were dal makhani (vegetarian), fauji di mutton curry (lamb) with butter layered naan and garlic naan.
The wait staff were friendly and personable. They sat us down immediately.
Masala puri: 6 small crispy shells filled with yogurt, and a variety of chickpeas and other vegetables, topped with crispy noodles. This was a 10/10. A bit messy to eat, be careful!
Dal makhani was recommended by the staff, it’s one of the top dishes at aangan. We ordered medium spice, and it was the perfect amount. This was a delicious vegetarian option.
Fauji di mutton curry (lamb) was a thick, creamy consistency, and full of flavour. The only flaw would be that we had a lot of lamb bones but not much meat in our dish.
The butter and garlic naan were aromatic, soft and layered. My favourite naan so far! Some may say it’s not crispy enough though
We also ordered some mango lassi. 7/10 - thick and creamy consistency but by the last third it became too sweet.
We walked into a really clean and beautiful restaurant, we were also greeted by the friendly staff. The workers were very approachable and we willing to explain a variety of dishes.
We ended up ordering masala puri, dal makani, fauji mutton curry, butter and garlic naan. The masala puri was the stand out dish (10/10), the flavours and texture of these crispy shells were top notch.
The fauji mutton curry was delicious and flavoursome but there wasn’t much meat in the dish and plenty of bones.
The dal makani was also very yummy but not as good as the fauji mutton curry. The naan bread wasn’t as crispy as I thought it would be but still very delicious. All this yummy food was accompanied by the mango lassi which was awesome!
Overall experience was extremely good and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
We had a wonderful evening as my wedding anniversary ended with mouth watering delicacies.The ambience,service,quality and taste of the food was far beyond our expectations.We were full on stomach but craving more on our mind.The dessert was cherry on the cake.Highly recommended for food lovers.Will come back again to explore more finger licking items.Sharing some actual photos to tickle your taste buds
It was one of those let's order the banquet night with some friends. We thought we were hungry so we ordered the middle banquet.
After eating a full tandoori chicken and kebabs more appetizers arrived. Massive tasty curries quickly filled us to the brim.
The one drawback was the service. After clearing away our appetizer service dishes they brought the next course. However, we all still had plates with bones and no place to put the next course on our plates. The manager picked up the issue and quickly rectified it.
The rest of the service went well.
We tried this on a whim and so glad that we do. The food is amazing! This is now our fifth visit on as many weeks. That how good it is! Today we had the Pani Puri, Dosa Marsala, Tandoori chicken, Dhal and Goat Curry. We always over order because we just get so excited to try how good their version is of all the dishes we love. They haven't failed us yet! The staff are courteous and special comendation to Sai and Junta, who are always fantastic when we have been there. Love it, you need to try it!
Ok, the current rating for this place isn’t great, however, roll the dice! First, and main point, the curries are good, very good. I’ve now eaten three curries from here and they’ve all been top notch. Blend of spice is bang on, and the texture is like velvet.
Obviously the service (according to other reviews) appears to have been sub par; we attended on a busy New Years Eve and it was apparent that the staff did lack experience, but the two times since, especially tonight, the team were in total control and were delightful. Recommend.

Was in Melbourne for a holiday and was craving Indian food and I came across Aangan (Bundoora). The food here reminded me of the food back home, especially the non-veg platter and the Goat Biryani. Would love to re-visit when I am in Melbourne next.
Had the best Indian/Indo-Chinese food in Melbourne yet. Super friendly staff with good attention to detail. We’ve been there twice in a week and found the quality of food exceptional! Especially the meat platters, fried rice and chilli chicken dish. A must try for all Indian/Indo-Chinese food lovers

Thank you for making our Eid so special. We ordered mixed tandoori platter, garlic naan, lamb biryani and mango lassi. The food and the beverage was simply delicious. We will order again.
I had been in many Indian restaurants before but I think this restaurant is one of my best restaurant in Melbourne North. The foods are delicious, authentic & nicely represented, I am a Asian restaurant owner /a chef nearby I just wonder how much efforts they put to these recipes for the reasonable prices even during high inflation time. All staffs here are super friendly with prompt services, I noticed managers always greet customers when they arrive. Every times I come they always let me sit at table for 4 even only myself Not like other people’s comments.
We need to understand at the moment every hospitalities are pressured of under staffs, so just be patient to enjoy nice meals. I highly recommend this place, you must try to see if I am right, I always come back.👍
My partner and I had the most amazing meal on Thursday 17th March. We arrived quite late at around 9pm. The meal we shared was absolutely amazing! The staff we dealt with - I believe it was the manager, was absolutely fantastic! We had been before covid hit and was great then too. I would highly recommend
Loved the ambience and foood! From the appetisers to desserts everything was great. The manager was really humble and staff did their best.
Wow, the flavours are unbelievably good! The tastiest authentic Indian food I have ever eaten! The chicken biryani is heavenly. I'm glad I tried Aangan for the first time, I'll definitely be back to try out different dishes on the menu, including the Indo-Chinese section. Prices are also excellent, overall 10/10.
