I am not one to post reviews but i quite often come to Helen's for a juice, smoothie, etc and am always greeted with a warm smiling face, the girls are always very friendly and even ask me about my weekend etc, there is one little one the other day that i spoke to poor little thing was so busy running out orders and she still stopped and asked if i was ok, & asked me how my morning was, which was so nice to see the amount of care for customer service your girls have and as a local to burleigh i find this cafe very welcoming and i just want to thank you and all your staff for doing such a wonderful job! Am always recommending your juices and acai bowls! Will continue to come back. You guys rock!
Great service, friendly staff & divine products!!
Here’s the secret behind an acai bowl đź¤
It is actually the skin of the acai berries that is the key! Yes, that’s what it makes it so special and without it, it wouldn’t be considered a superfruit! 🍇
Similar to most fruits, the skin has fiber and many nutrients, and it’s where most antioxidants are to help to prevent against heart disease, diabetes and many diseases related with old age!
And there you go, here’s your little piece of knowledge of the day 🤓 along with your little drool moment, of course 🤤
Went on a little spontaneous trip to one of the most rated acai bowls from Burleigh Heads and have to say that is was definitely worth it!
Actually the location is in the main street along with many many many other venues but I have to say that it stands out from the rest because it has quite a large space and actually Helens Cafe Juice Bar, now run by Nicole, has a bulk food store just next to it that is, by itself, very famous and known by the locals.
Acai is from Sambazon and they have a big menu featuring Cocowhip too that I absolutely love. The acai menu itself is quite long and there is plenty to choose from and to be honest I am a person that loves a simple yet nourishing and filling acai bowl so when I visit places I tend to choose their original blend to see how good the quality of the bowl and blending is. So here’s what we tried:
- Peanut Butter Jelly Bowl - it’s one of their specialty bowls and I have to say that even though it looks absolutely fantastic and mouthdrooling, my friend was slightly disappointed with the taste and I actually had a go myself and we were quite disappointed with the overall taste in comparison to my own bowl that was absolutely fantastic. I think we weren’t very luck with the blend and the taste wasn’t sweet and tasted slightly like something burnt maybe? I actually didn’t take notice of the ingredients of the bowl and I cannot find the menu online anywhere (which I think would be advisable as a friendly recommendation because there days we power of online marketing is huge and they could definitely benefit a lot from it and even become more popular if they put more effort into it 🥰) but I think they mixed peanut butter in the mix and it ended up to have quite a funny taste. Either way the other ingredients were great and I love the fact that it had granola on the bottom and on the top and extra extra loaded with peanut butter and a drizzle of jam on top of it.

- OJ Bowl w/ fruits - actually quite opposite to the previous bowl, this was mine and was absolutely fantastic! Seriously amazing! I would have to say that the size was quite big even though it doesn’t look from the pictures and the blend itself was amazing tasted like pure sweet acai. One thing I found interesting and slightly different/weird was that you actually have to pay for the fruits in the acai bowl? The original bowl only comes with granola they have two blends of granola and the normal blend actually is not dairy free and has small yoghurt pieces in it but they offer a complimentary vegan granola for the ones that cannot have the original one which obviously was highly appreciated
- Metabolism Juice - my friend had this juice and he liked it better than the PBJ Bowls. It was a squeeze of watermelon, lemon, pineapple, strawberry and chilly and it looked actually quite impressive and massive. I actually asked specifically for a small but the staff must not have heard and we were charged and then given a large. I wasn’t too fussed about it because it was only $2 extra but still it was wrong. Anyway, the juice was of good consistency (seemed even like a smoothie/creamy blend!) and great colour.
Although I didn’t specifically very welcomed, and sadly my friend had a bad experience, I have to say my bowl was great. I would go back to try other items!
The Acai bowls here are great but a little too overpriced once you add all the necessary toppings like fresh fruit etc. Despite this, service was quick, the Acai tasted great and the muesli used here offers a range of ingredients like almonds, assorted nuts and sultanas!
Been twice and bowls really tasty and fresh both times. Good menu selection and toppings. Plenty of fruit on top so worth the price. Friendly service and on the main strip in Burleigh so very handy. Chocolate granola was really good
Best acai bowl I've ever had! Best in Burleigh (have tried them all) and beats anything in Melbourne. I had Helen's bowl. Incredibly generous servings and value for money!!!
