Review Mint Vietnamese Pho And Cuisine - Burwood

Alex Chen
Had dinner here and we ordered the beef pho, pork trotter Udon, combination rice, mint signature salad, beef cube and rice, mint signature spring rolls, lemon soda and Vietnamese coffee. The service here was average and the food was average too however the lemon soda was not good because it tasted like sugar water with no lemon flavour. Over all experience here felt average.

A nice place for people seeking tasty Viet dishes. Their food will satisfy your craving, especially there aren’t many Viet restaurants in the surrounding neighborhood. Highly recommend their vermicelli soup with duck and bamboo shoot (bun mang vit). This one is a bomb.

As someone who is allergic to peanuts, Vietnamese food is something I have to be careful with. The menu at Mint is something I wish every restaurant has. Each dish that contains peanuts has a special peanut logo meaning that I can order whatever I want without bothering the lovely staff asking for an ingredients list for everything! Based on what I had - (prawn soup D5) I can make an educated guess that everything served here (including those dishes with peanuts) will be delicious! Great little restaurant!

Decent place and price. Their pho is a little bit different than traditional pho, vermicelli ingredients are fresh and their fish cake is really good!
Hermione Le
Great food and great price, I hope the price can be kept like present. I had crab meat based tapioca noodle soup with seafood.

Delicious authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the heart of Burwood. Classic Vietnamese dishes from pho, through to small share plates, to bun bo hue and bun cha special, which is drool worthy. Make sure you try the spring rolls which are also made in house. Great for small to medium groups and definitely gets a strong recommendation to satiate your Vietnamese food cravings!

Small Vietnamese cafe in Burwood. If you are in Burwood and like me you love Pho, then why not give this place a go!

Better than average but far from the best pho I've had. Meat was a little dry and soup could have been more flavoursome but otherwise pretty good. Prices, service and decor above average.

Delicious authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the heart of Burwood. Nice ambiance with interior mixture of old school Vietnamese and modern chic. Tasty food in generous portion size. Service was friendly & helpful. 😃

They have a huge variety on the menu such as Beef noodle soup with Wagyu beef, Egg noodle soup with braised duck maryland and Salt & pepper quail etc.

Their Egg noodle soup with braised duck & mushroom was delicious. The duck was tender & flavoursome. The flesh had been infused with the flavour of Chinese spices. The egg noodles had a firm bite & springy texture, swimming in the bowl of rich & savoury broth. 😋

I also enjoyed their Cambodian style clear rice noodle (dry). Comes with a small bowl of soup for you to add to the noodles if you don’t them to stick together too much. The ingredients were fresh & tasty, it will be perfect on a hot summer’s day. 🙂

Great food!!!!

If you go in the last hour and a half of operating hours, be prepared to be asked to move so they can mop around your feet and for all your sauces and chilli to be taken away.

The food is generally decent here but the owners could not care less about their customers and seem to have some sort of superiority complex. Good luck to this restaurant; if it can be called that.

They have delicious pho. The beautiful bone broth is what stood out to me. I’ve had takeaway from here as well as dine in and both times it was delicious.
Service was what you expect it to be. Attentive enough but nothing amazing. Food came out in time and the cashier was friendly enough.
Definitely would come back here to try more dishes tho.

Food is quite decent. However, service quality has gone down significantly. Staffs were rude, non-apologetic when they made the wrong order. Was more scared of the manager than trying to fix his mistake. Kitchen staff were very loud and can be heard bad mouthing customers in Viet. When complained to the "manager", he did not care and just asked if we were going to pay for our food or not. Will not be coming back!

Pros:
- Stereotype-breaking-ly attentive service
- Generous portion
- Flavour of food was nice
Cons:
- Duck in the duck salad congee was a bit bland
- Probably not ratchet enough to be taken as authentic

I love the rice paper rolls here, they give you much more compared to other store and it is so delicious. The pho is consistent excellent - the meat is succulent and the broth is very flavoursome alongside all the other components of the pho. Overall, a cheap eat and very much worth it.
I love pho... love love it. I could eat it most days of the week if I could. When I discovered they had a wagyu pho, my instant reaction was that I HAD to try it. The wagyu pho definitely lived up to my already high expectations of pho. The portion size was generous, wagyu meat was plentiful and the broth was deep in flavour. Almost perfection! The wagyu cuts are definitely more premium, thereby giving the broth a more gelatinous, strong depth that a good pho should have and taking it to that next level. I’ve returned to mint multiple times now after that first visit and I’m probably going again this weekend. The broken rice dish is also fantastic according to my partner who orders it 1 out of 2 times. I tried the chicken pho.. and although great wasn't the best i've had and was very basic.

Went here for the first time on a Friday night, and will definitely be back.

Tried the crab meat and prawn mousse tapioca udon ($14), as it’s not something I find in other Vietnamese eateries, and loved it! Intense crab flavour in the soup, bouncy noodles and tasty prawn mousse.

Friend had the signature vermicelli ($14.50) which looked vibrant and fresh. Keen to be back to try other dishes!
Josie
Only took one star away because there was a bit of a struggle with the understanding of our order, forgetting some bits and the portions felt a bit small (lemon grass chicken). other than that food was great.

Love seeing uncommon options on menus and Mint certainly provides that! Both dishes ordered were fresh and super-filling. Walked past and there was one table filled...10-minutes later, the restaurant was full to the brim!

If pho is your go and your in this area this is easily the best option in Burwood/Strathfield
The Pho is great right up there with flavour and the serving size Is very generous i was told it was very good so made the trek to see for myself very happy I did.

Was busy for a Thursday lunch. Seems popular. Ordered the crispy noodle and a large pho. Huge portions that will definitely fill you and the food is tasty without having to add extras. It was a bit salty post-lunch but luckily had some nice green tea on the table that is complimentary. Food service is fast and no-fuss. Will recommend friends to go here if they go to Burwood.

Price: 3.5/5
Taste: 4/5
Service: 3.5/5
Decor and presentation: 3.5/5
Visits: 1

Mint is one of the few Vietnamese restaurants in Burwood and it’s immediate vicinity. It’s well-maintained with tables wiped often and kept relatively clean. A line can begin around dinner time so it’s wise to arrive a bit earlier and beat the rush. The signature vermicelli was very filling, probably a bit too generous if you aren’t a big eater. You won’t be bored with the dish as there are so many different elements to accompany the vermicelli.

Only had their signature beef noodle soup, and it was a delight to eat! Great serving sizes and would highly recommend their signature dish.
Would come again to try out other dishes on their menu.
When Saturday nights call for a dinner outside. We wanted to go where parking was not a problem, so we decided to go to Burwood. Parking was not really a problem all right but the restos were – and that’s how we stumbled into Mint. Who would have thought that Burwood food scene is absolutely crazy?!? I mean the moment we got out of the lift, so many people are queuing in most restaurants.

Ordered pork chop with rice. Surprise surprise the pork chop was microwaved. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT since the Pho was great. The pork chop was stale and chewy (barely heated) Also, there was a strand of hair in the salad. Very unhygienic restaurant.
Edit 1: Came here again for rice paper rolls, waited for 15 minutes and $10 later -- rolls with 99% rice noodles and 0.5%meat and herbs. Disappointing experience. Would never come back again. Do not go to this restaurant. The boss is very rude.

Not sure why this restaurant still has a 4-star rating, because it is sure should shut down due to hygienic reasons and a scam.
ButterflyEffect
bad service, poor communication for waiters/waitresses. the food has more volume in noodles if you order Large size. I know coz I ordered the same dish with a friend and not much different but the more noodles
Mm
the food was great and they had a wide selection of choices in their menu as well. We ordered soft shell crab, special (三色) rice and grilled pork rice paper rolls. everything tasted amazing and they came in generous servings as well. I once ordered soft shell crabs elsewhere and they came with 3 small pieces on top of a mountain of veggies, but this restaurant came with a mountain of soft shell crab and a few pieces of veggies underneath. definitely a great bargain.

Heaps of authentic options
Even a duck MERRYLANDS in noodle soup and this one is Devine. The soup is awesome and the Chinese mushroom in it gives it extra juicy flavour.

Other favourites are all of high standard.

The DYI rice wraps are great for sharing with marinated pork, beattle leave and sugar cane prawn!!

In case you are wondering the Pho is excellent with a very fragrant broth that will sooth your soul.
Lily The Frugal Foodie
The vermicelli with sugarcane prawn and spring rolls was delicious and serving size was more than enough for one. My only complaint is that the prawn was not actually on sugarcane like I'd expect it to, which was disappointment. Regardless this is a much liked local for Vietnamese food. I've previously tried other dishes like pho, bun rieu and bun bo hue and liked them all.

Love this Vietnamese place since the staffs are friendly and they remember us. Always ordered their egg noodle with braised duck and mushroom/ egg noodle with stewed beef brisket. Staffs always ask if you want the beans sprout to be cooked which is a good point. The taste is really traditional. Their special broken rice is also nice. Every ingredients in the broken rice is good. However, the Pho here is not the best in Sydney, sometimes it tastes too salty.

Terrible service. The worker yelled at us for sitting in the same side of the table as my friend and I were showing each other photos of our trips. Terrible manners and slow service.

Despite terrible service, the food was surprisingly great, big bowls of pho and generous handfuls of soy bean sprouts.
I come here often and eat the grilled pork with soup noodles. The grilled pork is by far the best grilled pork ever and its very worth it for $15. I love the dipping sauce and very amazed at the servers who memorise what you order and don't write down what you order.

Yummy food and will come again!

Like other people were also saying in their reviews, they made a mistake with my order .... it's not too big deal I guess... I just ate the beef pho they gave me. It's a generous size of pho with a lot of meats. We also ordered fried spring rolls which was a bit overpriced ($12) but they were freshly cooked and tasty. I want to try noodle salad next time!
Jenna Z
My favourite place to go for pho! Very tasty and generous servings. I've been coming here since it opened and it never disappoints. The spring rolls are also nice but a bit overpriced.

The shittiest Prawn Laksa I ever had in my life! Sorry for the language but that's the only word I can think of when I tasted this - Crap! There is no Prawn first of all and then when I tasted the first sip, NO COCONUT MILK!!!!! Why was it called Laksa if there was no coconut milk , only god can answer that!!!

Gave us wrong food and insist that we have order it , not the first time will never go back!!! The waiter have attitude and meat was so small in the meal its all vegetable, can't wait for this shop to shut down !

Been to this restaurant few times , more than once they make mistake with our order , today we order pork and they gave us chicken , I told them my husband can't eat chicken as if I will order for him, and seriously the waiter bring the menu to us and say we did order chicken , oh well we will never go to this place anymore , they staff are disgusting ever , no matter how the food it is, it's all about service
Mia
Been here few times. Love the noodle, very large portion and very fresh summer rolls. I think they have changed the service staffs. The last time I went there and the waiter was rude when taking order and one of my dishes was missing. However, last Friday, the other waiter was so nice, funny, helpful and amazing memory, he didn't make us wait too long to be served while the restaurant was super busy and got all my food in about 10mins. Overall, food was great and service has been improved. Please keep it up and I would be happy to come back with my friends and families.

Ordered Beef noodle soup with medium rare beef and beef bible(apparenntly, bible is tribe, I didn't know that😅) . It was pretty large portion for Regular tho. The taste was okay..
Also ordered spring roll, the skin was a bit chewy but taste good..
I like their ice vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, but the Three-coloured bean slush was too sweet..
Carol Zhang
I came here on a dinner date with my boyfriend. We ordered pho and the spring rolls and the tri-coloured bean slush. The portion sizes are huge even the regular size seemed like a large size. This place gets busy at night so make sure to come early if you want to avoid the wait. Overall great food and service.
George Jreije
Usually full or close it, Mint offers a great selection of Vietnamese dishes. Apart from the pho, you should try the spring rolls and salt and pepper quail.
Helen
My family and I come here all the time. There usually is no wait time and if there is, it's not too bad maybe 5-10 minutes. I would recommend if you're looking for basic Vietnamese food that is really good and satisfying. The portion sizes of the noodles are quite big which is good.

This place came recommended to us by some Vietnamese friends. We've been a few times now. The quality of the food here seems very high. Last Wednesday night with a friend, (3 diners) we had the spring rolls, slow cooked pork, rare beef salad and spicy chicken with fried rice as an option, see photos. The spring rolls and slow cooked pork here are delicious, the best in Sydney that we've experienced. The only detraction was they started a loud vacuum cleaner whilst the diners were still there at around 8:45pm. But the waitresses are all courteous. Great Vietnamese fairly close to the city

It was an awesome experience of Pho and salad. Food is tasty and service is speedy and nice. Especially, their facilities look clean and new which can deliver your food more yummy. I would recommend this Vietnamese restaurant rather than others

Was one of my favourite resturants.Good food and friendly staff. But that s what I got for wagyu beef noodles takeaway today.1.5 for the staff but WONT COME ANYMORE.THX

Hands down WORST service in the world. Firstly we were asked to move tables after being seated. We ordered a dish we've had before and it tasted completely different and unbearable salty. We asked to exchange it after barely touching it and they brought out the same dish. After refusing to pay for it, they threatened us. NEVER GO THERE! Additionally, the floor and tables were dirty and sticky- my friend slipped five times. We will be complaining to the ACCC and have our receipt and photos as evidence.

Good food portion, service and tasty. I've been here for a couple of times. I recommend the satay pho, it is something a bit different to normal pho if you are a fan of pho like me~ 😋
Msg Makes Me Angry
The menu price has changed. Update the menu please. Big size bowl, beef stock nothing special, not enough noodles in the pho. Its called Mint but no mint was given. The irony. The waiter and the register keeper were not very friendly. Not coming again.

A decent Vietnamese restaurant in Burwood. Much loved by many locals. I've been there twice already and they haven't yet let me down on their service and food. The shop is air conditioned so it makes it easier to make decision when you crave for some Pho in a hot day. I think the price on their menu is fair consider the huge portion you get in return for all their dishes. The let down is their Vietnamese drinks. They are not bad, but I've tried better in other place.

Service is fast and the tables are clean. I really enjoy the pho here - the broth is tasty, the meat tender and the bowls are huge.
Tea and various condiments are complimentary.
The spring rolls for entree are very average and came well after our mains. Their tapioca udon was hard and unpleasant.
Besides their pho I'd recommend the crispy chicken and tomato rice which is tasty.
Mel Afoa
Awesome place to relax and chill. Food is great and service is on point. Very beautiful place too. Awesome team to work with. I love the crispy chicken and rice dish especially.
Eatwithmyfoodsafari
Modern decor, efficient service. Generous servings of pho with a fragrant and delicious broth. The pork cutlet was freshly grilled and served with shredded pork, pork meatloaf and fried egg with rice. I found the banh xeo (Vietnamese crepes filled with pork, prawns, beans and herbs) somewhat underwhelming; although it looked lovely on the plate, it lacked substance and flavour. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal although verging on the pricier side.
Cissythescorpio
this place is good for family, couple or dining alone. it is clean restaurant. we have ordered the seafood noodle soup and duck soup egg noodles with an enteee dish of ox tongue. cost as $42, which perfectly matches with the description. will go back soon.

Yummmmm! Tried this place randomly as we wanted something warm to have during winter and glad we tried it.
We all got the beef pho and it didn't disappoint! I could have had a little more meat but that's a preference.
We also tried to race paper rolls which were good but didn't blow me away.
Would definitely try again!

Hot beef stock with lemon are best for winter. We were near Burwood so we decided to go to Mint which above average decor.

Ordered two of their signature dishes Pho and Bun Dac Biet.

The winner is hands down the Bun Dac Biet. There are no boring bits. We particularly like the spring roll and fish+shrimp cake. The rest are just normal.

Unfortunately the Pho is just okay. Ironically their Mint are not fresh at all. The beef stick and their bean sprout are just standard.

Bottom line : Good food. Good service. Okay value.

This is our go to restaurant whenever we want Vietnamese food in Burwood! We've been dining here once every month for the past few years and most of the dishes we've tried were pretty good.

I'd usually get the Large Beef Pho and my partner would get the Tomato Rice with Chicken. Unlike other restaurants, this place is really generous with the 'mint' given with the Pho noodle soup (well.. it is called mint after all).

I would recommend this place!
Nicky Norsii
Mintyyyyyyy my visit was fresh with no implications, $15 for the large pho but the portion size was extremely generous so it's a non-issue, soup wasn't too salty and the beef isn't a cheap cut so they bond the dish well together, was feeling the decor and the service was where it should be for a noodle spot, Chinese cuisine seems to dominate the Burwood strip out here but this place is worth a visit
So minted x

One of my favourite places to eat Vietnamese. Almost as good as my mums cooking. The restaurant is a bit westernised though, flavour wise and sometimes the fragrance of the soups aren't maximised. But I always ask for extra seasoning like shrimp sauce to bring out the flavour and smell to traditional standards.

Bun Rieu. They make it really nice here! My favourite in Sydney. Given, when it comes out, it doesn't have that strong typical Bun Rieu smell. But when you ask for extra shrimp sauce, it tastes just like home made!

Bun bo hue is really nice too. But same goes for the need to put extra shrimp sauce.

The pho is nice too, not the best in Sydney. But they have a wagyu option if you like (tastes the same as the normal beef, in my opinion)

The rice dishes are nice but recently the quality has been not consistent.

The fried ice cream is really yummy. Similar to the other fried ice creams that have been popping up. Decent size, but the original Holy Basil one is still the best.

The mint lemon soda is amazing and one of my favourites (I love lemon soda). However it is a bit on the expensive side. You can get the lemon soda for 50c cheaper. 50c for mint I find is ridiculous but I guess it is a business.

In my experience, when asking for extra things (like lemon wedges or shrimp sauce) some waiters seem to only understand English while others only seem to understand Vietnamese. Unsure if the owners are Vietnamese or not. As some wait staff know how to speak Chinese.

Very average food, missing a lot of the traditional Vietnamese flavours. We ordered the bùn with spring rolls and sugarcane prawns. It was under seasoned and bland. We also ordered a soup which was also under average.

The first and last time I dined here was about two years ago so please also take that into consideration of my personal review where I found it a little pricey for what it was worth. The pho broth was average. A little disappointing to be honest as the store presentation looks mint and you'd expect the food to reflect an enjoyable, fresh-tasting dish.

Returned here a few weeks ago and found the brother quite heavy on flavours.

Local Vietnamese cuisine on Burwood road, north of the Burwood station. Price of meals was reasonable ($10-$20 mains).

Had rice paper rolls (pork and prawn) with peanut sauce and black pepper cubed steak with fried rice. Both meals were tasty, although the black pepper cubed beef had a little too much onion (some of which was still raw). For the price, it was decent.

Place was quiet as it was early dinner (5:30pm), but have seen the place packed during lunch and dinner.

Staff were overall friendly. However I had to send back my meal as it was served with plain rice and not fried as requested, although I think it was more a case of waitstaff lacking English skills than the kitchen being inattentive.
Manic Munchies
Had the large pho with wagyu cuts which costed around $20. The broth was nice and the bowl was loaded with meat, however the wagyu cuts didn't add enough value to warrant the price in my opinion. Would pick one of their cheaper options upon next visit.

Mint covers the usual Vietnamese suspects like pho, vermicelli salads and DIY rice paper rolls. But it also offers less bog-standard items like duck and bamboo noodles, congee with beef or chicken salad and braised duck and mushroom noodles. We had the bun bo hue which came out bright red but wasn't too spicy. It had a good mix of ham slices, meat and pork blood cubes in a flavoursome broth. They certainly don't skimp on the portions - the large was probably enough for 2 satisfying meals. I really enjoyed the congee and chicken salad too, though I initially found the congee on the salty side. But when eaten with the salad, the saltiness was balanced out by the fresh, punchy dressing. Our last order was the special vermicelli salad which had grilled pork, spring rolls, betel leaf beef and shredded pork skin. I've had better versions - the dressing was a letdown and I found the spring rolls and shredded pork quite oily. But bonus points for the netted spring roll skins. Service is "cheap eats" standard i.e nil to none but that's a shame as the interior itself would suggest otherwise. Overall a decent place for a Vietnamese feed.

Delicious freshly prepared food. Was crowded when a group of us walked in yesterday.
All usual Vietnamese dishes on the menu, the Clay pot porkbelly was great!
Decor and service was good,BYO only did not see many having alcohol though.
Recommend those who love Vietnamese cuisine.
Prices are reasonable.
Food Hunters
I blame the shiny furnishings. Ooh, Modern Vietnamese, the decor whispered seductively. Actually, it turned out to be more of a fusion Vietnamese situation. Honestly we the Food Hunters cannot remember what exactly it was that we ate at Mint restaurant. Like a repressed bad memory, only another really bad restaurant experience might trigger a flashback. On the other hand, it may have also been possible that the congealed mass of noodles in a puddle of titanium yellow soup that arrived at our table was so unrecognisable as a dish to either of us that we simply did not know what we were eating. Caveat emptor.
Ruth Kusionowicz
Really nice interior, good service and not a long wait for food. The food was fresh and really big portions, so good value for money. I had the pho with medium rare beef and beef balls, which could have used a little more flavour but was nice. I was disappointed with the shredded pork rice paper rolls - no taste of pork, seemed to be shredded vegetables and just overwhelmed with coriander.
Salena
The food here was good and the decor in this restaurant is a definite plus. The wait for food wasn't too long and the meal was filling and delicious.
Mina Chen
This restaurant is very busy and the food is fantastic. However, the problem was I could see that most of the staffs were forced and rushed to clear the table for other customers were waiting outside and ignored me completely when I called for order. I think customer who had already sat in restaurant should be served first. Secondly, to be honest, I would suggest the staff shouldn't speak Chinese if they didn't understand it. Fortunately, there was a guy with Chinese background helped me correct the order. My parent wouldn't be too happy if they got wrong food.

Here is my overall rating:
- Food: 4/5
- Service: 3/5

Find all manner of traditional Vietnamese food here at Mint. Only a brief stroll from Burwood station. Beef noodle soup with medium rare beef $13 (regular) . I was asked how I would like the meat done. Being Vietnamese, I just automatically assume the beef in pho is going to arrive rare so I wasn’t expecting this.
Alex
MINT, a unique change to Burwood scene. ☺ Burwood been know best its Chinese influenced food, Having the "special wagyu beef" pho & traditional Vietnamese fresh rice paper rolls. Good home traditional Vietnamese food hit the spot. Staff and ambience was peaceful, with a contemporary black and green theme through the the restaurant ,a good causal lunch or late dinner open to 9pm.
Great place for Vietnamese food if you're a local in this area! The food is fresh and the spring rolls are a perfect crispy. The service is also very quick! Would definitely come back again!

One of the hardest questions to answer when people try to organise things is ‘What do you want to eat?’ It’s one of those killer questions which make you fall on your legs begging that somebody would just take the initiative. Whether you call it a first world problem or just one of those situations where you just want to act polite and say ‘I’m up for anything’, let’s be honest we all really do have a preference but just don’t have the guts to say it. So next time when somebody asks that question, just mention a cuisine you like and I’m sure that’ll at least kick things underway.

Mint is my local go-to for Vietnamese. It isn't the best Vietnamese I've had but it's very consistent and the wagyu pho is a nice variation.
Debbie Bui
My go to place in Burwood for a Vietnamese feed with quick and friendly service. Though their signature dish is the wagyu pho, their other noodle soups, such as the spicy vermicelli, are standouts too. For appetisers I recommend the Mint spring rolls, and don't forget to order a fresh fruit shake to complement your meal!

I love coming here, I come here all the time and the staff are always helpful. The food is always great, alright price for some good traditional vietnamese that's almost as good as the noodle houses at Cabramatta. Damn good steal for something that's close to home.

Great food. Been here a few times. Atmosphere is nice, very clean inside and staff speak English well. The beef noodle soup is great and one of our faves in Sydney. The wagyu version is probably not worth paying extra for, but the combination one is reasonably priced and gives a bit of everything. Partner tried the stir fried flat rice noodle with beef, also very tasty.

For Vietnamese food in Burwood, Mint is a good local place to get your Pho fix at a reasonable price - not dead cheap like Flemington or Cabramatta, but reasonably priced between $10 - $20. We'll definitely be back to try some more of their many dishes on offer, as avid lovers of Vietnamese food. It's good to find new places on an old haunt once in a while.

The interior is a nice mix of old school Vietnamese and modern chic. I didn’t take a photo but located behind some of the booths are rows upon rows of Asian conical hats aka rice paddy hats.

I love my lemongrass chicken and I really couldn't fault this dish except it would be a tad too spicy for the chilli intolerant. What I loved the most was how much capsicum was added to it. I use to detest capsicum but now I love it (i eat it raw, stir fried and also have it in my juices) so it was a very welcoming sight!

The waitress came with the bowl of pho and I was wowed by the sheer size of it. The soup was flavoursome and clean tasting. I felt like I barely made a dent in the noodles!

Burwood road in Burwood is full of different restaurants and cuisines and on a Saturday night, the street is buzzing with diners everywhere looking for a decent feed. Joining the multitude of options is a new Vietnamese restaurant by the name of Mint. Located perhaps a 10 min walk away from the Westfield entrance, Mint seems to be a bit more than you standard Vietnamese joint. Stepping inside, you immediate notice the furnishings are a bit more up market then the usual restaurants and this is further confirmed when you look at the menu. At first, it is a bit disconcerting as I'm always used to eating delicious Vietnamese food in dingy places, but once you get over the initial surprise, its pretty comfy. The first thing on their menu seems to be their signature dish - wagyu beef pho. This is the first time I've ever seen wagyu used in pho before so it was a must order. Apart from this, we also ordered the signature spring rolls for entree and also a beef and beef b

To ensure an honest review I ordered a piping hot bowl of Beef Wagu . The broth was clear and included a complex taste of herbs and spices. The meat (as normal) was put in at the last moment (so not over- cooked). It was delicious and I can’t wait until winter when it becomes part of my everyday 5 food groups!
The Food Zoo
Situated on the main road amongst a whole strip of other restaurants, you know it’s good when people area already waiting outside for an early dinner. Turnover is quite quick so the wait is never too long. I was surprised by the lemongrass pork which was served more as a stir-fry instead of grilled pork chop style but was tasty nevertheless. Portions were generous and the menu is maaaaaaaaassive (although who am I kidding, I always order pho). Highly recommending this place and I am officially labeling it as my go-to restaurant in Burwood! Mint 226, Burwood Road Burwood 2134 Filed unde

Ms tara. I have been there at weekends after long list to wait , it's worth of waiting . food is decious & fresh with reasonable .really remakable decoration with so called ,nice & freindly staffs. will be back there soon with my family.

Don't let the Chinese speaking staff fool you, the Vietnamese kitchen staff dish out some genuinely good food. My pick: the Signature Vermicelli with Lychee smoothee to drink. If you "rock up" on a Friday or Saturday, be prepared to wait for a table...

A rare combination of taste & sublime simplicity.

-----10 Sep, 2014-----

The Titian Terror. The food at this fine restaurant is like a big jam doughnut with feux cream on top; the food's arrival brings us inestimable pleasure & it's departure merely makes us hungry for more. It is a Vietnamese gastronomic Golgotha but rather than a place where recipes old & new have gone to die, Mint has breathed new life into them and made them delicious. Mint is the food of a rich heritage mobilized and sent into battle. Mint represented the spirit of real SE Asian cuisine set free before 'SE Asian cuisine' itself became just another marketing concept. The food is only outflanked by the attractive, cordial staff whose friendly, courteous, smiling service would put many a NIDA graduate doubling as a pretend waiter/tress in the Eastern suburbs (whose job, by the way, 'doesn't define them') to shame. Mint is what other restaurants long to be & could be, if only they were Mint. Mint is not for 'foodies'; it's real food for real people. Move over all you beautiful people & stay at all your trendy 'churrascerias' with their over-priced, indigestible, uncooked red 'meat' served by waiters who mumble, 'I hate these jerks' (soto voce) in português. Leave Mint to the rest of us who love good food served well by friendly people at a reasonable price. Vive le Mint!

Ive had the WORST experience at this restaurant, the food is nice but the service is horrible. I found them to be very unwelcoming and rude

Ummm........ Nice new decor,it feels too fancy to be in a place like this serving vietnamese food since im use to Cabramatta/Bankstown vietnamese places, it is a nice change though and its really clean, a big plus

Food wise, it was ok. My partner didnt like it much, but the crispy chicken was pretty good, spring rolls, we were expecting more flavour, clear noodle soup/nam veng noodles was a little disappointing, i hate it when they add zucchini to it, it just removes all the flavours that you just experienced which is a bad thing. My three bean drink was disappointing, it was almost like the only thing i tasted was coconut milk and the beans were really dry

What people have been saying about service is true to a extent, i found it a little hard to wave someone down as if they are really focussed on what they are doing. Also when the spring rolls came out they came without any sauce.

Food did come out pretty quickly though
Prices are a little more than what we usually pay

My partner though says she wouldnt come back
Myself im not so sure, plenty of other things to try

Love the Pho!. First time I've had Wagyu beef in pho and it was phenomenal! Highly recommend it, but perhaps share it between two as it's quite big!

I love the character of this place. The main crew are awesome. Very accommodating whenever I've been with fussy eater (which is getting too often these day!!) The food as good and well priced. Now I have had better Vietnamese, but certainly not around Burwood.

Unhappy patron. Unhappy, waiters seem very critical when asking for extra things such as spare bowls to share with

Inconsistent service. Food was okay, on the pricey end for a pho restaurant. Some staff displayed poor customer service

Decent food... price a bit on the pricier side compared to the typical pho restaurants. service was attentive but they always try to hard sell their food :\

one thing I would definitely recommend is the fried ice cream... it's wrapped in thin pastry rather than batter.. generous servings.. and so good it was devoured before I could even take a photo of it :P

By far best Vietnamese food in Burwood.
Price is fair in this area .
The decor is nice .

Although not comparable to Cabramatta, Bankstown & Flemington .

Be prepare for some queues .
Will definitely come back to sample more Vietnamese food .

Beautiful Pho! The best in Burwood and possibly all of Sydney. Definitely 5 star food for less money that you'd expect..
