Absolutely love this hidden gem. Has the best yum cha in Cabramatta. And the customer service is brilliant, we never have to wait long for a table. Our family travel from Penrith and it’s definitely well worth the drive.

Came to Fortune 8 for yumcha on Sunday. Abit of a wait around 10 but not too long. The staff at this restaurant are really great- extremely well organised and attentive. Because the restaurant is fairly small the food comes to you pretty quick. A decent selection of yumcha foods are offered. Would reccomend giving this place a visit- especially when the Vinh phat lines are way too long.

Good little yum cha restaurant hidden in Cabramatta. Gets very very busy on weekends. The food is good but not amazing. The staff are okay. They don't really smile especially the lady on the till she doesn't smile at all.

This cute family owned restaurant is hidden away in an arcade at Cabramatta. With so many yum cha places to choose from, you can’t go wrong with this place! Although it isn’t as fancy as your iron chef or Vinh phat, food quality is still pretty good and service is excellent. There is a huge range of yum cha options to choose from. I’ve been told they’re all day yum cha till 4pm. If you come here in the morning (9-11) you’re sure to secure a spot - be early though or expect to wait in line like the other busier yum cha joints!

Yummy little family-friendly yum cha restaurant tucked away inside the AA shopping complex. Not as fancy or modern as other yum cha restaurants but offers great service and a decent variety of delicious yum cha dishes. Love that they are now also available on Uber Eats!

Staple for great food and Yum Cha in Cabramatta! Great as you can order your dim sum of the menu so all the food is delivered fresh. Definitely recommend to anybody looking for a great cheap and local feed!

Probably the best yum cha place I’ve ever been to ! I know that’s debatable for the cabra areas but after trying all the other places, this is by far the best for me. They don’t have much of the usual desserts but the food itself is so fresh and authentic. The service is super friendly and YES there will be a line if you decide to go on weekends for brunch 😂. Nothing to fault with quality here and it has become my ‘go to’ yumcha location. 🤤🤤

Decided to give Fortune8 a go as it is considered a local secret if you’re after some cheap Yum Cha without having to wait a long time for a table as it is hidden within a plaza. As soon as you are seated, waiters and waitresses are already at your table asking if you want the delicious dishes they have in front of you.
Overall, food was decent, service was exceptional!

Food : 😍 Amazing
Service : 😍 Amazing

I think I’m biased when I say this is the best Yum Cha restaurant I’ve ever been to because I grew up going here. In all honesty though, it has very delicious food. Most of their dishes are hand made and freshly cooked which is what I love. The service is great with loving, funny staff members.

I prefer Fortune 8 over the endless queue from Vinh Phat for yum cha. This restaurant always makes me feel at home by friendly staff. I got a table instantly even though it was a Saturday morning. Instead of pushing food cart around, the ladies there will carry tiny trays offering yummy dishes with brief explanation. If you'd like to order something of your choice, ask for the menu or just tell any staff who walks pass you.

The food quality was good but some of the dishes quickly turned cold once they landed our table. The quantity, as expected, is up to yum cha standard. There is young lad (I presume the owner's daughter) who attentively refills the chilly sauce whenever someone nearly finishes their dipping portion.

Please don't take multiple servings for the same dish. Try it among your table first. I witness a Westerner table getting full after taking 4 serving of sticky rice. They did not look very enjoyable.

I came here on a pretty moderate day so it wasn't packed but it wasn't empty either!

We ordered a variety of dishes such as the fried dumplings, prawn dumplings, har gow, shumai, rice noodle roll, mango pancake, steamed vegetable which were pretty delicious!!!

The waiters were nice and friendly ☺️

Fortune8 is a small family-run restaurant in the AA shopping complex. The service there is top-notch. Sure, they don’t have the traditional yum cha trolleys, but their staff are constantly carrying out a variety of dishes on trays. The first time I ate here, I thought the variety would be slim given they are a smaller restaurant than Vinh Phat, but they do a great job of rotating the food coming out of the kitchen to ensure you are offered as many dishes as possible. Their service is also more personal than bigger joints, and if you ask for an item off the menu, the service staff promptly bring it out for you.

I’d rate the yum cha food here about 7.5/10 if Vinh Phat food is about 9 / 10. There are 3 dishes that I typically measure my yum cha experience with: the har gow, the chicken feet and the tripe.... continue reading at imhangryweb.wordpress.com/2017/04/18/yum-cha-at-fortune8-cabramatta

Great service, quick and polite. Good food, I enjoyed the deep fried prawn dumplings and honeycomb tripe. Slightly squishy seating when busy.

Hidden away so slightly more difficult to find, but that didn’t stop those in the know lining outside on a weekend. It’s not a big place so the wait was about 20 minutes or so. Prices are fairly low, making Cabramatta yumcha spots a lot more appealing.

What I liked about Fortune8 was the variety, some I hadn’t seen before at other yumcha places. On top of that, the staff are really nice and friendly so makes for an enjoyable experience.

Everything was quite nice without being amazing, but I wouldn’t get the shark fin dim sim again. Felt quite dry and taste was rather average.

I absolute adore Cabramatta. It is a testiment to 90's migration policy and Asian culture in Sydney. It is one of the last untouched gems left of Sydneys foodie pilgrimage.

My theory behind asian food is that the dodgier looking a place is, the better the food. Fortun8 is no different, located within a shopping arcade surrounded by $2 shops, fabric stores and live seafood markets. The place is complete with the usual generic mass produced artwork and full-functioning lazy susans.

The best thing about this place is that like the contents of its menu, the experience will never change. Its consistent and exceptional. They don't try chabging or innovating classic yumcha dishes and thats what makes it so good!

One of our favojrite Yum Cha places in Cabramatta. Tucked away in a hidden corridor behind the arcade next to Freedom plaza, it's a place you would go only if you knew it was there.
The service is always quick and lovely. They do the main dishes very well but are limited in the amount of items on offer especially the desserts (no mango pudding or mango pancakes!) but although my kids love those desserts, they won't go to any other Yum Cha in Cabramatta!!

Friendly service, very decent yum cha, great prices. Great little yum cha restaurant in Cabramatta. I usually go here over the other more well known Yumcha restaurant when I'm craving the deep fried dishes for eg, the deep fried wontons and seafood spring rolls.

Great place for yumcha! The food was tasty, I think the best thing about this place is just how it's not super super busy. You might have to wait a little bit but it's not as long as Vinh Phat Yum Cha. So it's always good to come here if you really want yumcha and not wanting to wait super long, the food won't let you down. The only let does was what we had to ask 5 times for some chilli sauce. Which kinda ruined the mood

Cabramatta is home to quite a handful of yum cha restaurants and I usually alternate between Vinh Phat and Fortune8 and occasionally Iron Chef. If you want a nicer and more refined ambience and fairly modern decor then hit up Vinh Phat or Iron Chef, they also cart around your typical steel trolleys to each table. Fortune8 definitely needs an interior revamp and the fact that the space it occupies is relatively smaller means no room for trolleys so expect staff to carry out dishes by hand which does slow down service. In regards to food though, I feel that Fortune8 has a wider range and slightly tastier than its competitors.

Congratulations to a restaurant who gave a fresh variety of hot, tasty yum cha, excellent table service and a bill that was well worth the experience. Hidden in an arcade within an arcade, I chose this restaurant based on its previous reviews and the fact that I wanted to travel to a Yum Cha restaurant that was no more than 30 mins from home. After braving 40 degree heat outside, I was extremely appreciative of icy cold water brought immediately to the table. Staff were prompt and our food was either selected from the menu or taken from staff who came round and offered it. "Fresh" is the word I would use to describe the food. It was lovely. Definitely gets my vote for value.

Not ready to find the place as it is hidden inside a small shopping Centre.

Place is a bit too small but the food is yum. Sorry to say it doesn't quite make it to our top three places for yum cha.

Originally one of my favourite yum cha joints in Cabramatta but has since been overtaken by some of the others in the area. I still love the har cheung here which is probably my favourite dish of the lot.

One of the best yumcha in cabramatta for their dumplings and prawn rice noodle roll, when its hot the noodles melts in your mouth and the dumplings are juicy and flavourful. Must try their signature asparagus prawn dumplings.

Every dish came out steaming hot and was spot on with all the flavours. SCORE! For 7 dishes thats an average of $5.17 per dish – that’s ridiculous!

I entered Cabramatta during the busiest time possible for yum cha and was able to score a table within minutes at this restaurant. Once seated we were bombarded with food and this was consistent throughout our seating which is awesome! The staff exude happiness which brightens up the whole restaurant. The decor of the restaurant is plain and could use some work, but is definitely acceptable by Cabramatta standards. In regards to the food, all dishes were either average or just above average, however, the chicken feet were disappointing.
In conclusion, I would recommend you try out this hidden gem in Cabramatta.

Although commonly crowded, this must be a good sign. Wonderful fresh yum cha that is extremely reasonably priced, brought to your table quickly by efficient and friendly staff, make this place one to return again and again.
